Growing up the first Batman comic I ever read was Dark Knight Returns Part 2, and from then on the image of Joker with a snapped neck with batarang in his eyes has been in my head since. This figure beautifully captures the essence of The Joker from that comic.
There's no way I'm going to say "the hell with you, Robo" Even if you the property or characters, it's fun to watch you have your own "interpretation" of them. We all love you and keep being awesome. Ps, I still remember your own "interpretation" of ULTRAMAN and his cape, it was hilarious
This was a solid review bruh. I do have the Mattel version and trust me the articulation isn't that much different from this one that is the only reason I passed on this guy. If you do happen to find your Mattel version can you post a picture of it on your IG?
This is one of my favorite adaptations of joker simply because of how much of a psychotic asshole he was 😂😂 him running through the tunnel of love was so nuts
Marvel and DC are just killing me. DC won't show gun accessories with their figures, but we get the cigarettes, meanwhile I'm still miffed at revoltech wolverine losing his cigar.
They removed it last minute since DC now haves a "no gun" policy on marketing certain characters with weapons so they have to censor the guns in photos even in showing the full list of accessories. Which Mezco did with a few figures.
I actually did get the Mattel figure for custom fodder, made a comic version of The Mask from it. Kinda wanted to get this figure to make a more articulated version, but didnt wanna destroy a $90 figure
It’s one of these rare cases where I think the cheap Mattel version beats the higher end Japanese version. This one’s got interchangeable hands, more accessories and a better range of articulation, definitely. However the Mattel one did boast a cleaner sculpt, a lot more shading on the hair and face, the neutral face had more of sardonic expression and it also came with a great looking 2nd head sculpt, the one-eyed manic Joker. I also prefer the more vibrant purple used by Mattel. I just don’t feel the need to replace the older one in my display. But this one’s nice, for sure.
I think that was a fair review of the figure, Mr. Robo. I like the comic, so I like it as a figure... if you don't like the comic, why buy it in the first place?

Both Frank Miller (the writer/artist on Dark Knight Returns) & Bruce Tim (the co-creator/character designer of the animated series) were influenced by Jack Kirby who famously had a very stylistically blocky/stocky & angular style.
You'd think with all the time FedEx saves by throwing our packages down onto our porches without care that they would be as fast as DHL is these days...
Warner Bros, who own DC, won't allow guns to be advertised with it's figures anymore, or in Mafex's case, completely removed from, or never announced at all with figures that should include them. It's the reason why the Hush Joker had it's revolver (with even just a bang flag out the barrel) get removed, after showing it in the promo pics with it. And probably the reason why the upcoming black Suit Superman doesn't come with his guns, holsters and bandoliers. ☹

ok whats honestly sad, they went more for the *movie* look which made the suit way more boring... and the comic ver was kinda shiny and had indents of squares on it and was striking and cool.
