Keep in mind that the majority of players do NOT have money. I’m not talking about money to spare, I’m talking about actual no money at all. This is supposed to be the climax of the anniversary event, yet it’s locked behind a paywall. May I remind you that a game anniversary should be thanking ALL the players for carrying the game to where it is now. That’s not the case here.
That is nice to know- I have a Saturday shift job though. I really wish since we’re paying for this it would last a week so it’s not so insanely life shutdown demanding. Missing out on one of the 2 days days worth of grinding makes the $15 completely un justifiable.

The 8 dollar range felt like a good spot for tickets and I am worried they will continue to try harder and harder to paywall “power” if this event is successful. I’m fine with paid cosmetics but paying for gear that is best in slot is moving the wrong way imo.

Somewhat relevant to the discussion at hand, the metal raths have always been some of my favorite monsters in terms of their armor ever since I first farmed 'em in Iceborne. Abusing this poor stygian zino in the arena with full goldi armor and raging brach dbs is a core memory for me lmao.

Really happy to see your video on this! I hadn’t heard anything about that event Armor set- do you have to farm it out as well or does it come with the ticket price? Time limited materials needed to max it out? Or can we upgrade it later? I was trying to decide if the $15 was worth it- honestly the time and grind investment being forced into a couple days seems pretty extreme for most. So without being able to commit the entire days to playing the game during that tiny win do it makes justifying the $15 a pretty hard sell. But depending on how we can get and upgrade that event exclusive armor set it would definitely make it sound more worth while.
You can obtain the materials for the event exclusive armor from the event quests and from hunting large monsters and the required materials will be reduced during the event. Probably a ticket material will be dropping during the event for this event exclusive armor set. Yeah 15usd for just 2 days is kinda steep. Gotta grind a lot and commit two full days to make the price worth it imo.
You need one forge ticket drop, 22 upgrade ticket drops, and 210 zenny to get it an armor piece to Grade *8.1*! By far the easiest Grade 8 armor you’ll ever farm!😉🤣 (...but just a warning, *after* Grade 8.1, the price will go up significantly, and it will start requiring wyvern gem shards now and again. Might be best to stop at 8.1 or 8.2!😉)
The last driftstone event was quite the trap Best to get armor pieces smelted with Crit Eye and WEx to get crit as close to 100% as possible, and drop Elemental attack altogether as Crit Element basically makes them obsolete in many build types
Not a fan of your first GL poison exploit build. You can usually get 1-2 poisons per hunt, meaning you'll get 10--20 seconds of boosted attack. This results in ~13%-26% damage boost in total. Artillery 5 compared to artillery 2 is a damage difference of 25% AND you get an extra shell with lvl3, which is arguably most important on a full burst shelling gunlance as it further increases the dmg of full burst by 1/6th (~16%). Sure, you still have your normal slaps and slams that are boosted by poison exploit and not artillery, but this won't matter as much. Also, to get 2x poison procc you need to use at least 3 wyrmstakes, maybe even 4. That leaves you less time for full bursts and you'll be stuck with wyrmstake spam. Considering that wyrmstake spam itself is the highest possible damage with GL, it's probably better to focus on that instead of artillery and full burst playstyle.
Yep still gonna test out different builds for the poison exploit gunlance. My idea for the build was to hopefully get it poisoned right away and finish the hunt within the 11secs before the poison even fades. When the monster is poisoned that's the time I'll do full burst attacks :)
@@PauwerPlays With lower star monsters that could definitly be the case. One or two full bursts on a 6-7* monster with a G10 weapon and it'll die for sure.
It seems pretty difficult to grind all of the parts you need for even one of these builds in two days. With that being the case, it makes it even easier for me to skip the event. We all need to vote with our dollar!
I do find it worth it compared to the Npaolumu event. I was at the Shibuya Live Event, and I farmed a lot of Grath, Srath, and some Nergs. You get triple the monsters compared to the Npaolumu Event. You also get incredible armors and weapons that help A LOT progressing on harder monsters, and it helps to combine better and better armor sets. I bought the ticket because I know it is worth it, since I had a taste of both previous events, and they were incredible. Also fashion hunting is a chef's kiss. If anyone can't buy the ticket (I've seen some players talking about it), those players should stop complaining and discouraging other players from having fun. Just shush and wait until those monsters are free and free on upcoming seasons
Oh! One more thing, it might be worth discussing the carnival LBG and HBG? They are the first range weapons in the game with paralysis, and the stats look actually usable?!😉

@bralerionchannels i checked out the auto optimizer builds, they use nergigante piece which i havent tested yet but not a fan of it cos you lose your special. Elemental attack should scale with crit element. We have to check which one will deal more damage when i get those armor pieces :)
Gold Raht GL is one of the best of the normal shelling. Can't wait to see your build. 😂 As for Crit elem. I dont know. I dont like that it has level so you are really limited to the armors to use and the driftstone grind. I dont want to talk about it.. and then building affinity up is limiting as well

The ticket is very expensive in my local currency, so I'll have to skip this event, it's not worth it honestly. But it's frustrating we'll be getting Gold Rathian gunlance this soon, it took me a long time to level up my Pink Rathian one lol I'll stick to it instead.

Any body that didn’t want or can’t afford/pay for a event is out on a really good armor piece and now imagine if from 5 years to now, their are 2 events every year and 1 event out of the year has a armor sets, that is just better than what hunting can offer what’s the point of doing weekly events if the best armor is locked by money. Wouldn’t waiting for big events be better than spending days, weeks, or months focusing on a monster to create a load-out that maximizes dmg, when there’s better stuff if you wait and pay. I think the event is an amazing opportunity for people to play a game that they love but having events that hand out meta armor pieces is slap to face for those who can’t spend that much money I could but I know what the feeling of missing out is because of money it feels like it’s my fault for being broke.
Well, despite the one individual here who thinks they "speak for the community", I'd like to also address another issue to the rest of you: Time. Niantic's approach with this game massively takes a long-and-short-burst approach. Most drops, from what I've noticed so far, are rather common and monsters rarely spawn in 'just out of the way' areas. I do a circuit of roughly half a mile within my living area and pick off anything I can find. I'm a stay at home person and can afford to walk outside and be a cellphone zombie for a few hours a day. Most can't. Even with the full intent of making just a single piece of coral pukei-pukei gear with their last emergence, I failed. Sam3 with black diablos. Now, I understand the company needing to get some life out of the game. No point if you can blitz to the end in a week or month. But the grind isn't like other monster hunter titles where the drop rates can be far more acceptable. I have to spend massive amounts of time farming and rarely get anything I need. I can only imagine wha5 this is like for people who play less than an hour at a time. No event is gonna be worth the kind of price tag they are asking. Even if we say the meta gear pay wall isn't a thing, we still have to have a decent activity level and a LOT of luck for hunting. I'm sitting at six star creatures simply because leveling weapons and armor beyond four or five stars is a grind for rare materials. It feels like odds and time crunch are heavily stacked in favor of having to do most events heavily for multiple cycles just to get a few pieces of gear. This to me is a bit much.
Waiting is always cheaper... 0$ As someone who have used every materials to upgrade all armors to G6, the importart ones to G7 and G8. The only thing left is the Nightshade Paolumu Armors where only 2 are at grade 6 and the other 3 are at G5.5, kinda ran out of R4 material. I also upgraded lots of different weapons type with different element as well just to use excess materials, the only thing I can't dispose are those 500+ Carpenter Bugs. Even after all that, I will still not be able to have enough storage space for the new monster materials, plus the zenny needed to burn the said materials. So I have no choice but to wait and buy time to make space and save enough zenny then, I hope 😂. Their strategy at limiting the storage space is a double edge sword when it comes to this ticket events.
Storage will be a moajor problem when we have to farm 3 new monster huhu. In reality, theyre not just asking us to pay 15usd. We have to pay for storage and potions. If your dont have enough refining materials good luck haha

Having Elemental attack 5 is still the best way to get damage. Combining it with crit element will make it even stronger

It applies on about 1/3 of your hits, and the amount applied depends on how much poison your build has.

The first paid event was reasonably priced but this global event is too expensive imo.
