I have to thank you for making this video. I wouldn't call Rise my favorite MH game by a long shot, but I do like it over World. So the entire discourse over it and all the 'Rise vs World' debates that generally lean towards downtalking Rise makes videos like these very cathartic.
I flip-flop between Rise and World a lot, but at the very least I can say that replaying Rise without trying to compare it to any game has deepened my appreciation for it considerably.
Yeah I know I always say everything is good in its own rights for example world is really good at making the world feel like an ecosystem while rise is really good at making the characters memorable(especially in sunbreak)
My favorite Lunagaron animation is when it _does_ grab you. After taking bites out of you and tossing you aside, instead of a finisher while your hunter is exposed like other monsters, it takes the time to lick its claws as if to say "yeah that shit hit the spot."
Seeing Lunagaron look into its palms in disbelief that it didn't grab you is like watching a slapstick comedy gag. It's hilarious. And people act like the monsters have no personality 😂
A similar detail is that if Pukei-Pukei is eating a mushroom in the middle of the fight and you steal it, it reacts angrily and tries to punish you for it. I laughed out loud the first time I saw that.
@@kidd2173i thought garangolm was meant to be a golem. definitely doesnt make as much sense, but it seems more like one with all the grass and stuff on it
As an audio engineer I appreciate your recognition of the sound design in this game. MH sound design is truly phenomenal. One of my favorites is the sound Malezeno makes when he teleports. Malzeno sound design is top notch in general.
have started playing the game on PC with headphones recently and the difference it made to playing it on Switch with nice speakers is mind blowing I feel like it's a whole new game again tbh
Maybe its my shitty TV but I just wish that sound design wasn't usually drowned out by the music, I have to lower its volume considerably to appreciate that sorta stuff, which is a bummer because the music usually slaps.
If you haven't, I recommend looking for Breath of the Wild SFX, the passion of the developers when making BotW can be literally heard in how many different details they thought about. Small details like your steps sounding different depending on what pieces of armor you're wearing, if they're metalic or not, the weapons clanging on your back have different sound regarding the material they're made of. From SFX to the songs composed, after finding out about it through some videos I went to replay the game just to pay more attention to every bit of sound.
For the Espinas portion of the vid: Espinas doesn't actually remove the endemic life from the map, when Espinas eats a paratoad or poisontoad they spawn in when the unique animation begins, meaning they aren't actually the collectable version of the endemic life they represent.
For the relics lore, you forgot to mention the relics are all hints to find the rare endemic life, and the background of the relic shows the time of day to catch the rare endemic life of the locale!
Some details I remember seeing: -Monsters stopping for a drink, happens a lot in the beginning area of the Shrine ruins, and it's always cool to see -Somnacanth eating fish from fish ponds, I think the crabs do it too -Chameleos eating little bugs with its tongue -Rajang taking a shortcut through the flooded forest by jumping on top of a pyramid -Kulu stealing a rathian's egg right in front of her lol -Basarios disguising as a rock like it does in the old games, only saw that once but it was really cool, I thought it couldn't in this game -The cats that drive the little train in Elgado taking a break, and also the researcher cat from the lab sleeping in his room upstairs -Shogun ceanataur sharpening its claws -Anjanath loafing like a cat, always adorable And many others. There's a lot to see, I wish the game incentivized finding those interactions more. It's a shame you can never get anywhere near a monster without it either noticing you, or getting into a fight with bullfangos and crabs.
The palico with the two palamutes in elgado will rub against each other and the cat will pet them. I've only seen this twice but it's cute when it happens.
Not to leave the other npcs out, I enjoy coming back from a mission and seeing Arlo watch the cadet(can't think of his name) shadowbox then correct his form.
An odd detail I noticed is that, out of all the monsters, aside from lucent nargacuga, shagaru magala cannot be fought in an expedition tour. I don't know why, but he just never appears on the citadel map. However, meowcenaries can encounter multiple shagarus.
I can't help wonder if it's not to make sure you never accidentally get two at a time since that wouldn't be possible according to the lore? But idk how much you can assume that since they could realistically just code it to not be able to repeat shrug
Two details of Rise/Sunbreak i really like are: 1st: When you kill a Monster (small or big) and a Remobra is close, it will land and start eating the dead monster. 2nd: the Fox that can be found at night at the top of the mountain in the shrine map can differently respond to you depending on the gesture you use.
Also inside of the volcano, you can find a Phoenix-like endemic life sometimes When I found it, I was a bit confused since there was suddenly a squawking sound, after a while of looking at it I attacked it and watched it fly out of the top of the volcano.
One detail I really love is the turf wars. A lot more choreographed than before with more behavioral aspects. For example, bubble fox vs thunder wolf or Astalos, in both times it plays a defensive role against the more dangerous wyverns and the fight always end with it getting pinned only for it to slip away. It just sets the tone of it being a highly defensive monster. Another is Lunagaron and Zinogre. Showing that the species likely have frequent confrontations with each other by sizing eachother up and even powering up in unison. Perhaps even understanding a howl being a display of dominance. Lastly Scorned Magnamalo and Malzeno, specifically showcasing intelligence of the dragon, able to parry, counter, and even seemingly predict the monsters moves. Showing that the monster likely shows more intellect than the other elders though that's just a theory. One other thing to make note is how competent Lunagaron appears to be when facing Malzeno and Zinogre, seeking only to incapacitate its prey before attacking it but I also find it interesting that despite outwitting Malzeno and even going for the killing bite, it still couldn't penetrate Malzenos neck. All in all love the details in these
The fight beween Lunagaron and Zinogre is based on a (play)fight between dogs (which makes sense as both are supposed to be canine based wyverns). The way they first circle each other before both go on their hindlegs to push with their frontlegs against each other is a lot how dogs play or even fight with each other if they are roughly the same size. I absolutly adore this fight as it always reminds me of just two dogs playing with each other.
One of the new Turf Wars with Primordial Malzeno has it fighting Velkhana. And when Velkhana fires its ice breath at Malzeno, it dashes forwards using its wings as a shield to protect it from the iceblight. It’s an incredibly cool interaction.
A cool detail I found one time while fighting Malzeno is when he misses his grab attack. He goes for the grab and misses then he looks down at his paw and notices he doesn’t have you and scoffs like he’s saying “blah! This isn’t over human” I’ve only ever saw him do it twice and I find that little detail so endearing
One of my favorite details of rise and sunbreak is when chameleos sets up his fog or turns invisible same goes for lucent nargacuga is the music will be muffled which is my favorite in the game
Some other cool details I discovered by accident or by connecting dots: 1) Somnacanth, while swimming or preparing to do its Sleep Nova, can be interrupted by a Sonic Bomb. 2) Followers will react to friendly fire. 3) Tigrex can get its jaw stuck if it charges into an ant mound or a rock in the Sandy Plains. 4) Gaismagorm may be partially, if not, heavily inspired by Abaddon, known also as "the Angel of the Abyss" and sometimes "King of Locusts". Abaddon is also a bottomless pit, often associated with Sheol, a place for dead souls. Abaddon also means "doom" or "destruction" in Hebrew. A note-worthy detail about depictions of Abaddon is the many ways it incorporates the pit: sometimes Abaddon is alive and the pit is represented by a massive maw, or Abaddon lives in a pit. Gaismagorm possess both of these interpretations. And though the Quiro aren't locusts, they are flying pests at the end of the day, and serve Gaismagorm as their host. So a lot of lines connect.
Back in freedom unite, certain areas like the snowy mountain would get a tigrex stuck, but a few specific metallic walls would cause him to knock himself over and break his teeth, always giving a regular tigrex fang and a free knockdown. Also when you break both his front claws, his animations change slightly and he slips and slides more, using his belly to skid when turning to charge you.
@@bahamutdragon1754 I wouldn't call that "changing slightly", it's a basic piece of the strategy. Same with barioth who becomes way easier after you break his claws
The detail about Malzeno using his qurio to hunt smaller monsters is so freaking cool. Hats off to the Sunbreak devs for making one of the best games of all time!
I dont know if you knew this but when Gaismagorm opens his mouth it looks like the Pentagram with the goat head, which is the symbol of the devil. Also his wingtalon description implies that Gaismagorm, even with that size, used to fly but fell and never flew again and his ultimate attack which shows a morning star is again a great reference to the devil or angel Lucifer.
-I knew about the Blastblight bit for Somnacanth, but I never saw the healing clam. -The Sonic Bomb trick with Daimyo goes all the way back to its first appearance. It also works on Nargacuga (and Lucent) - when it enters a pouncing stance, lobbing a Sonic Bomb in its face will topple it, but it will immediately become enraged after getting back up. -I'd absolutely love something like the Ghillie Mantle in a future Title Update for Sunbreak just to watch behaviors like Espinas' hunting of toads and Malzeno's use of Qurio to hunt up close.
I love Rise/Sunbreak but one thing that does upset me about Rise is that all of the monsters instantly aggro, making it difficult to just observe them in their habitats and witness a lot of interesting little things they do when you're not fighting them. I think a monster like Garangolm for example would normally be pretty chill until you actually attacked him and it'd be fun just to follow him around. That was something I really liked about World. A lot of the monsters in that game were docile around hunters and I spent a lot of time just watching them through my binoculars or taking photos. And although I didn't like mantles in general the ghillie mantle was a great tool for observing the more aggressive monsters in their habitats.
Yeah, I was perched on one of the cliffs in the shrine ruins yesterday, watching Aknosom and Rathian fight during an expedition. Despite there should've been no way she could see me, nor have reason to attack, she shot a fireball at me from the ground. I was amazed!
Well one way to look at it is from that Jurassic Park 2 quote, Dieter Stark: It gives me the creeps. It's like it's not scared. Robert Burke: There haven't been any visitors to this island. There's no reason for it to fear man. Dieter Stark: Now it does. The new world was comparatively not as accustom to the presence of hunters compared to monsters in the old world, so New World monsters may have been more willing to disregard humans as active threats while Old World monsters already know that the Hunter is the real Monster of the franchise so will attack as soon as they detect one.
@Felipe NS A monster doesn't have to be aggressive to be disruptive to the ecosystem. Could be any number of reasons for it, like overpopulation or being an invasive species. Maybe a monster needs to be hunted because it's eating another small species of monster to the point of extinction, or just eating all of the plants other monsters need to survive. A lot of the monsters in World were perfectly calm until you attacked them, and it helped with making the monsters feel more believable, like they were living, breathing animals with unique behavior and not just a series of boss fights.
@Felipe NS house sparrows cause trouble to soo many ecosystems to the point where its encouraged to shoot them and they dont try to kill you the moment they spot you, though I suppose thats not an entirely accurate comparison as theyre rather small. but deer are the same thing too
The single flower on Garangolm may also be a reference to Frankenstein’s Monster, the horror movie icon Golm is inspired by. In the story, the monster was offered a flower by an innocent young girl who the monster accidentally kills by drowning. Seeing the flower is both cute and sad if you know the meaning behind it.
Garangolm is a golem. Not a Frankenstein’s monster. It tends to the earth, and golems are traditionally made from earthy materials. Its gentleness is because golems are often made to be guardians. Its even in the name, my dude. Golm = Golem.
@@devranyilmaz9806 It’s both. The Three Lords are stylized after the big three classic movie monsters: Dracula, the Wolfman and Frankenstein’s monster. It’s a kind of Western answer to base Rise’s monsters that were based on classic Japanese yokai.
@@devranyilmaz9806 it’s both. It’s a golem that is heavily based on Frankenstein’s monster, and it makes sense considering that the other 2 lords are based around the wolf man and Dracula respectively
I really love the relic records! It's the only thing I've sworn to never look up online, I want to stumble upon them naturally. Many of them are incredibly well hidden and it makes me appreciate the maps even more. In general, I love hanging out in these maps, especially just casually collecting investigation clues and spiribirds - or just looking at all the details.
I wanna say a minor theory. In world they talked about rathalos/rathian mating behavior. The Ancient forest is used as a nesting ground by a dominant rathalos and its chosen "main" mate. Other rathian who the rathalos didn't choose but mated with will go to the wild spire to nest and take care of their babies there. The wild spire is where yo ucan find rathian but not rathalos so maybe the the sandy plains and the jungle is where rathain with out a mate go to? Astalos going there to pick up lonely single moms XDDD
I believe in the lore a rathalos will choose a mate and together that rathalos and rathian will push out all other rathians out of prime territory. All the rathians we see in Sandy plains or even the jungle are rathians who where pushed out and need to find new locations in order to survive. Thats why they are in those areas, they where pushed out by more successful members of their species.
@@MrJayza89 Essentially that's whath happens, but the world book specifies that the rathalos will essentially mate with a lot of females, pick the best one and raise its child together while kicking out every other rathian, forcing them to raise the baby alone.
The Rathalos Chad has no sympathy for Rathian Side Chicks it seems. Which is how Yian's Garuga pops up later on, single mom Rathian's getting desperate.
Gaismagorms jaws get compared to Narwa and ibushi a lot, but they’re actually pretty different! Narwa and ibushi effectively have 3 jaws. The maxilla on top, and then a split mandible on the bottom. On the inside of their mouth, they have a more standard, albeit boney set of jaw bones. These are presumably used in Similar way that moray eels use their 2 sets of jaws. The external one holds prey, while the internal one is responsible for the actual eating. Gasimagorm on the other hand has both a single maxilla and a single mandible. However, he has 2 additional sets of insect-like mandibles on both his upper and lower jaw. So essentially, narwa and Ibushi have 2 jaws. One comprised of 3 bones, and one comprised of 2. Gaismagorm has one set of jaws that is made up of 6 distinct parts. Gaismagorsm jaws most likely functions as a sort net to collect that qurio as he sucks them in.
Here is a detail you might miss: In the original artwork of the rampage in the traditional art style, the Magnamalo in that art is black instead of purple and has one horn shorter than the other. Perhaps this was a foreshadowing to the Scorned Magnamalo.
19:25 this is why I love the Ibushi, Narwa, and Valstrax weapons. Ibushi and Narwa's sound like their elements (wind and lightning), and all of Valstrax's weapons sound like they've got jet engines on them. Seriously, the Ibushi glaive is SO noisy. It just never stops with the wind sounds lol
PLEASEEEE do another! So many people think Monster Hunter Rise has barely any details somehow! There's plenty, and you're one of few people that truly go in depth! I implore you... PLEASE do more! I would love to learn more about my favorite Monster Hunter game X3
A small addition to the hetmitaur blood fact. Although Hermitaur doesn't look like it was inspired by them visually, horseshoe crabs do have blue blood. It's also used to test vaccines for bacterial infections.
I knew Gaismagorms weird feet seemed really familiar! Thanks for pointing that out, I love the way MH designers use real world biology to inform their monster designs.
One rare move I think most have seen but still is really cool, when Goss Harag has his Ice Blades and stuns you, he'll then slowly walk up to you, dragging the blade behind it. Just to then swing it in a massive arc. When I saw that the first time, I panicked so hard. And another (not realls small) detail I'm impressed by are the sub-area's. Most maps have these parts, that just scream for exploration, but you'll never visit them during combat. There is so much love and detail put into those, that goes unseen by a wide mass of players, because it doesn't directly benefit the main loop of the game, being running to a monster and kill it until it's dead. Detail isn't just number of pixels and how dense you can put them together, it's the entirety of the picture. And for what Rise/Sunbreak tried, they did a great job at it.
The RE Engine definitely helps a lot but people underestimate what the Switch is capable of in the hands of devs who know how to work it. Ya seen Xenoblade 3?
@@emblemblade9245 Literally this. I always roll my eyes whenever people use the "Switch's hardware limits games" argument. Xenoblade 3, Rise, Doom 2016, and Witcher 3 are all on the Switch and run fine.
@@emblemblade9245For real, I’ve never understood why people think the Switch is like, ancient archaic technology. Breath of the Wild was a launch title!
Great video, as someone who prefers rise sunbreak over world iceborne which seems like a very unpopular opinion, videos like this that show people that rise does put effort into details within the limitations of being a switch game too are greatly appreciated. Also someone probably already mentioned it already but you can also gather fulgur bugs from zinogre's back when you knock it down and you can mine ore from basarios back too.
Two more things that I noticed 1. Garangolm also has a flower on its butt 2. Espinases poison and paralysis only last half as long as normal poison/paralysis
This is exactly the video I needed. There are so many small things in the game which by themselves add so little but altogether add so much personality and flair to deepen the design aspects of the world the game series has created. I love to tell my friend about these small details and this video is a perfect summary for the extra effort the devs put in while actually being coherent unlike myself when I try to talk about these passionate things.
Gaismagorm's mole-like claws were literally the first thing I pointed out when I first encountered him! I'm so happy more people are noticing that he is somehow the most biologically plausible powerful Elder.
I didn't realize the health clam from somnicanth was so rare. I've seen it happen often enough that I'm looking for that green shell every time it grabs one.
Nah. It does it even during the village quest when you first encounter it. Maybe it's because I still kinda suck at the game, thus giving the monster ample time to heal up.
This was such a great video. I did know some of the monster interactions with the environment, but I didn't know about some of the rarer moves you mentioned. Some other examples of these that I like are Luna and Zinogre howling when they're alone sometimes , as well as Seregios tripping and being really clumsy with most of its attacks when tired (especially funny when it falls over after its large flying crash). Thanks for getting so many of these in one package. I've always loved these small character and world building secrets in the series.
Followers are so amazing and one of the many features of Rise that I hope will stay in the series from now on. As a solo hunter it's so much fun to have a full party without going online and play at my own pace.
The incredible attention to detail and imaginative realism is what made me fall in love with monster hunter. And videos like this make me appreciate how many details I still miss. I really have to admire Capcom's dedication.
I'm just gonna post reactions to the video in this comment lol For the Garangolm ultimate nova thing, I never knew he had that UNTIL I fought the afflicted version with randoms. I had no idea what was happening, but I knew it was gonna be big since the camera panned out, so I superman dived away as all 3 of my teammates carted to the one attack... I was awe struck and dumbfounded Holy shit I have never seen that Somnacanth heal clam despite hunting ~30 of them. That's amazing!! As well as the amazing name lore Espinas has become my favorite monster in the series so far, and I actually theorized for a bit that he got his paralytic properties from eating parashrooms and the flying bug dudes whose names I can't remember right now. Glad to see I may have been partially right lol That very last bit with the Scorned Magna being the one Fugen fought, I actually noticed that and thought it was really cool!! That would be one hell of an old Magna, and to see it STILL be absolutely crazy is awesome
Your first hint that the Scorned Magna was the one that attacked Kamura 50 years prior to Rise's events was the fact that Master Hamon was "visibly upset" at its appearance. It wasn't just the one that attacked Kamura - it had also ended Hamon's career as a hunter.
God, this video makes me really want to play Sunbreak. I still need to finish up Elden Ring, but right after that it's monster hunting time. IncelMagnamalo/10
One of my favorite details is the sound effects on weapons. In older MH games with Gravios, it's SNS made the coolest (or hottest) sound that was reminiscent of something being burned and a sizzle when you sheathed. So dope
Regarding the rare endemic life, the monk snail is the easiest to find not only because of its size but because he actually ROARS when it appears and u can hear him across the whole map so u know it's here. Also it freaked me out the first time because u don't know what could roar like that. Also we saw some clips of great Izuchi but I noticed that when it's resting u can see it play with the young izuchi in an adorable way.
The details and how monsters do their moves are very surprising. I even find Malzeno a cool dragon of Dracula, or morbius in some cases as Quiros are like vampire bats.
I was making village quests, and I saw a Great Izuchi laying down playing with lesser izuchis, like a lion with their cubs. I wasn´t recording, but managed to take 2 pictures, where the great Izuchi is playing with a smaller one thats on the ground, when another one jumps on top of it. It happened inmediatly after I started the mission, in area four. edit: I tried to see the interaction again, and if you let them finish, the great izushi drops a tear.
11:54 i KNEW i wasn't crazy! this solved my mystery!!! i rely on the toads a lot as filler Helpers, and i've kind of included them in my pre-hunt Spiribird route. but SOMETIMES, they would mysteriously be gone by the time i got there. it confused me a lot because as far as i knew, hunting helper locations are fixed. THIS MUST BE WHY!! i specifically remember a few times seeing that they were gone, and then shrugging and going to mount an Espinas to start the hunt. THANK YOU SO MUCH! it was driving me crazy!!
The bit about Rakna and cutting the web it uses to sling around is explained in-game in the Hunter's Notes. Though tbf, it really is super difficult to actually time and pull-off, and it doesn't say hitting the Rachnoids is also functionally the same as hitting the web
One detail I wish more people talked about is the ibushi/narwa skeleton in the lava caverns. Also the big fuck-off snail in the frost island is so intriguing.
Played over 1500+ hours on Rise and Sunbreak and I have missed so many of these lovely little touches... Thanks for your dedication for exposing these details. Over my 40 years of gaming I feel MHR sunbreak is in my top 3 all games of all time...
I'm not sure, but I think I've seen a shagaru magala contemplate the void beyond its main area in the citadel, as if remembering where it came from. Then it noticed me and stopped vibing
@@thecod2345 well, there can only be one shagaru in the world at any given time, so their loneliness must be quite unbearable, I can see them not being the happiest.
Well, one Shagaru in the area affected by its frenzy virus. It's unlikely that its modified frenzy virus affects Gores globally. MH has a very primitive though rapidly advancing sense of the world (the phrase "the known world" comes to mind when that only covered at best a quarter to a third of the world)
9:10 It's common to think that the Japanese name of Glavenus is "Dinovaldo" because that's what the English-speaking community translated its name as when it was first announced, and the spelling stuck, but its Japanese name is officially spelled "Dinovalde" (presumably intended to be pronounced "dee-noh-vahld"), which can be seen on official merchandise.
My personal favorite detail pertains to Goss Harag. It’s implied in its intro cutscene that it likes to toy with its prey and savor the fear the exhibit when it hunts them. If you are stunned when Goss has both its ice blades out, it will slowly walk upright towards you as if to savor the killing blow. It’s such a cool detail and one of the reasons why Goss Harag is in my top five monsters ever.
Another thing, Volvidon being part of the Citadel roster is a reference to 1931 Dracula as Armadillos where, for some reason, wandering Draculas castle.
About Hermitaur and Ceanataur bleeding blue blood from their mouths. This detail was there all the way from Gen 2, which the crabs were introduced. BUT ALSO back then, the crabs didn't have limping animation like today. So if we want to know if the crabs are low on HP and ready to cap, we HAD to take notice if they drooling out blood or not.
Somnacanth is truly an amazing and underrated monster. After fighting so many of them for fun, I eventually got the pleasure of experiencing most of the unique behaviors they can produce, from singing map themes, to the various shells, and so on… now somnacanth is my 3rd favorite monster of all time.
I have actually caught it from time to time with Magnamalo, and I at times hear it making a Chuff sound, which does suggest that it is very much like a Tiger! You typically hear it while it is sitting down, so you do have to leave it alone for a bit to notice this sound. And speaking of it sitting down, you at times also notice it actually using its mouth on the blades on its arms, which is a bit like Glavenus and its tail, seeming to suggest that it does spend its time honing them, which does explain why some of its attacks does actually involve using them when swiping its claws at you.
Continuing on with the relic foreshadows in Rise, the Jungle relics speak about worshipping a large dragon with steel blue wings. Judging by the foreshadows we got from the Sandy Plains and Lava Caverns relics, I am like 99.9% sure this is relating to a monster we'll get to see later on in title updates Edit: Also Malzeno has a supernova-like attack thats pretty hard to trigger. I got it a few times in the demo, but haven't been able to get it in sunbreak. I think it has something to do with being its bloodening state for too long. I won't describe what the attack so as not to spoil it, but I did want to mention it for those that might not know it exists.
Does Valstrax show up in the Jungle? Because steel blue fits it, doesn’t it? Also, lots of monsters have supernova type attacks that get prevented with DPS checks. Seething Bazel has one, and the Magalas have their beams that can be prevented.
I believe the mention of steel-blue was changed to just steel, which is much more in line with Kushala Daora, which not only has heavy connections to, but was also released with the Jungle area.
Actually Espinas eats Hornetaur in the area with that pool goo to replenish it's paralysis attribute Also, Malzeno teleport by galloping quickly using it's tail while simultaneously hiding it using it's 'blood mist'
I absolutely love the small details of Monster Hunter games, and is what has made me fall in love with the series. I also agree that Foley Artists don't often get a lot of praise for their work. A nice sound design I love in Rise is that Valstrax's weapons make whooshing sounds similar to when a Valstrax is in flight.
One detail I've been trying to see for myself, but haven't because Gore Magala has like a radar on where I exist (Seriously, it somehow knew I was standing on a tower above it that bordered two areas). Apparently, sometimes it will take its wing hand and absolutely rake those claws along its face a time or two. This to me feels like that the Gore Magalas we see are very close to molting or are not allowed to molt for some reason and are trying desperately to get out of what is essentially an itchy and uncomfortable skin. This to me explains a lot of the hyper aggression Gore's animations show. When not walking, its very twitchy and just sort of jerks its body to 'look' around regardless if its been agro'd or not. Additionally its aggressive twitchiness while it sleeps and how it just jumps up from its wake up animation gave me this indication too, except Shagaru does this as well and likely also displays the hyper awareness animation Gore does, I just haven't taken the time to watch it as much. Something else I've noticed is sometimes I find Tigrex just sprawled out in the middle of an area. The minute you walk towards it to look at it, it jumps up and fight is on. I'm not sure if this is it deciding to take a nap and just does so regardless where it is, or if its playing dead to lure something in to make for an easy meal.
The tigrex this is the tigrex pretending to be asleep. Tigrex are a lot smarter then they look, they know we hunters will get close when they are asleep and try and sleep bomb them so he sometimes pretends to be asleep and leaps out to catch us off guard.
the animation that lunagaron makes when he misses the grab is a direct reference to crash bandicoot as its one of his animations from the old crash games, i only noticed cause i saw the way lunagaron's ears moved.
Minoto's possible self-esteem issues (or inferiority complex?) can also be glimpsed on the artwork she makes that are featured around Elgado (beside Chich's cart) and the attic in one of the houses (research station I think). At least to my interpretation, she wonderfully draws her TWIN, Hinoa, while she doesn't draw herself as elegantly.
Graphics : one of the best on Switch, Gameplay: Monster Hunter, so far above most of games nowadays Roster: ok, far from 4u and GenU, just fewer than Iceborne And I didn't knew any of these details, only Espinas eating toads and I now realise I only hunt monsters, and don't try to know more about them, I won't do the same error with MH6
Right? For the console it’s on it is really good graphically and the roster has the most variety in terms of monster models and skeletons outside of GU so I don’t get why people are so upset about Rise. Like the thing is rise only feels easier than other games because we have way more moves and playstyles at our disposal. I mean is it so wrong to make the hunter more powerful and give the player more freedom than ever? When I think about it like this the difficulty complains are pretty unnecessary right?
@@seltika9407 for those who like a real challenge i understand they are dissapointed with difficulty but the devs are trying their hardest to make it harder and i feel with every update it will get raised a bit with the new afflicted investigations i dont find em unnecessary but some people overreact as if they are playing the easiest stuff on the planet and since difficulty also gets easier the more you learn and play the game these complaints will always exist
@@mikock I agree with this. Finding the perfect difficulty that suits both hardcore and casual players is pretty much impossible because given enough time hardcore people will find ways to make difficult content looks like a walk in the park, and casuals will be left with huge difficulty gap.
This is a detail that, AFAIK, is carried over from old games, but a detail I appreciate is that the reason that Khezu lacks battle music unless it's in combat with another monster is because fight music happens when a monster can see you, and Khezu is blind.
A video series of the less noticed or appreciated occurrences in MH games would be a fantastic recurring thing. I've seen but unfortunately not recorded tons of neat quirks in MHW, but I suppose that's what happens when you have over a thousand hours playing a game.
One thing I noticed in Sunbreak is that, when fighting MR Great Izuchi (who got a major difficulty boost, imo), he will sometimes flip onto a vertical surface and latch onto it with his tail. He'll then unhook his tail and push off, swinging his tail around for an attack. What's interesting is that I've only seen this done by MR Great Izuchi in the Shrine Ruins, a territory that they share with Bishaten, and not in the Frost Islands. Bishaten has the same type of attack in his HR and MR fights and does not appear in the Frost Islands. Its interesting to think that maybe there are Great Izuchi that saw Bishaten doing this and then figured out how to do it themselves. It's a nice detail.
My problem with Rise’s details was always less that I felt they didn’t have them, and more that they outright ignored established details without updating the monster’s info. Such as Khezu leaving its cave and being fought outside for the first time, but never drawing attention to this, despite “never being seen outside of it’s cave” and “no one knowing how it goes between different caves” being explicit details from the past
Khezu comes out of caves in mhgu like in arctic ridge and the marshlands. Also rathians tail still does poison you even if you cut it in the older games.
@@marcusaaronliaogo9158 I must have fought 1000s of Rathians across all games and 100% of cases where a tailless rathian poisoned me were in Rise. Anecdotally, something was definetly changed.
@@Oceaniz As far as I know Rathian tailcuts disabling the poison was a new feature in Worlds, in all the older games it didn't disable it. Worlds changed it to disable poison, then Rise reverted the change.
@@abbodon1 it was a new addition to World, but that was because it made sense that a Rathian losing the tail, where the poison was stored, would get rid of it. Rise in general seems to have a focus on shorter hunts, monsters die easier but so do you (I’ve carted more in Rise than every other game combined and I have several hundred hours in my least played), so leaving the poison makes sense, but it also removes the rewarding counterplay involving the poison. Now the only reason to cut the tail is the meta reason of “I need a tail” which is a different problem of design altogether
Considering the switch limitations and COVID troubling a lot of the development , a lot of things about rise are understandable , they knew where they had to put there priority and it shows . One of my problem with the details in rise that can be explained in part with said developments trouble is a lot of returning monsters bonus animations such as iddle turf war and such for monsters from world are just mindlessly copy pasted without care for what they told us . I'm thinking about things like rathian dominating Anjanath for no reason in Rise or bazelgeuse doing its elder recess exclusive idle where it marks its territory notifying us its their own turf anywhere in rise now , but like I said , dev time and priorities . But my biggest gripe on that regard is the roster distribution for each map that just look at the monsters in their most basic way and overpopulate maps with monsters that have no business being where they are (anjanath is the biggest offender , he is in everymap except the frost isle despite being a forst monster) makes each map feel less special you know. On the somnacanth part The western localisation with MH is super good but the big problem names is that sometimes we have to wait a long time before having an interview that finally explain the choices that can be obscure at time (thinking about narkakos)
I think it’s unhealthy to say that just because World did something means that every following appearance from the thing it did has to follow the same template.
17:06 I saw the same thing with Astalos and Espinas. Just like here in the video, the two sat relaxed next to each other and looked at the water. At first I thought that this might be a bug (I've only been playing since world). I took a picture of it and used it for the hunters' notes.
I think that's a feature. Multiple Flying Wyverns will just chill next to each other in that one spot and look out into the water. It happens so often that it has to be a feature.
Correction! Followers werent added in Sunbreak for the first time! They were added in Frontier first! Also i also noticed some weapons made different hit sounds aswell but i noticed it in Freedom Unite when i decided to try our Yian Garugas Hammer. I got slightly scared when my hammer started to make psycho bird noises lol.
Rise vs World is just a debate about hardware, since Rise is for Switch. The gameplay itself has improved vastly and I hope the next MH game combines the best of both.
one neat move I saw only once, was Goss Harag do, was when he'a exhausted he threw a wooden dummy as a distraction object like how ninja's do in anime to get away.
I rarely (barely never) see people cricizing Rise about anything but the fact that World/iceborne had more details, endemic life and shit, no one ever talks about the gameplay, build diversity, faster monsters/pace, things that really affects the game and not the feelings. World did an insane job at modernizing the gameplay of Monster Hunter and it had a great atmosphere, I was amazed the first time I saw the coral highlands, but Rise created and brought back so much things that players love instead of just an "update", you can go wherever you want, making up your own path and shortcuts, unlocking lore and using the endemic life, did World really had that much to offer ? I legit only read things about details and endemic life. Like... that's all ? I'm a gameplay enjoyer, I get why people loves the atmosphere and feelings of a game, but I can't understand why you would say that a game is better JUST because of the details. To me, World and Rise have the same amount of details, one just feels more realistic because of the graphic style, weapons and armors designs. Also sorry for my english, let's just enjoy games and what makes them differents is what makes them fun !
Super teeny tiny detail concerning Malzeno. Its true teeth under the large canine-like protrusions on its snout, are retractable! And they extend out during biting animations!
No matter how good Rise is, any followup to World was and is going to be heavily scrutinized (by fivers) if it can be perceived as "less". Not even "lesser" in quality I mean literally as in "having less in it". Less monsters, less environmental detail, less hairs on Anjanath's back, etc. You can see this in comical effect with the reception of Generations Ultimate. Since it came out AFTER World did in the west, the Gamers™ who see game development in binary and linear terms genuinely believed with all their heart that it was the series "going backwards". The lack of self awareness in the criticisms was palpable and that same kind of indignance/entitlement can be seen in much of the arguments about Rise (albeit to a lesser degree). Rise being compared to World the same way GU was compared to World (as the series going backwards instead of as a sidestep to try different things) doesn't even feel unfair, it just feels uninformed and silly.
Every single video about rise the world players come in to whine, its been like this for so long that i want to strangle all of them, i just really resent everyone who plays world at this point
The funniest part is that those same people also don’t know that GU technically already came out before world in Japan. GU is literally just the release and localization of double cross in America
I wish I could thanos snap fivers away, there’s no getting through to them. They rejected the series until World dumbed it down enough for their impatient pea-brains. I don’t consider myself a champion at video games, but I do understand commitment. I started 4U with no knowledge of the series and grew to love it because it gave me enough difficulty to make me learn but enough leeway to let me learn from my mistakes. I studied myself as a player going through that game and earned my victories. To me that’s a huge part of what MH is about and to see World-newbies say that everything that was part of old-gen’s learning curve was “bad controls” and “lack of quality of life” when I never experienced those kind of feelings is infuriating.
Im glad to see a positive video about Rise's details. I thought the TDS video on World vs Rise details was very biased towards World because a lot of random endemic life animations would just eat up performance on the Switch. The TDS video portrays it as a "downgrade" instead of a limitation the team had to work with
@@magnabueno5360 I thought the (popular) comments were very thoughtful and considerate of the fact that rise is a switch game through and through. They were mostly just highlighting world's attention to detail and sharing prospects for mh6. The fewer liked comments were toxic tho
My main worry about MH6 is that it may go back to not being on Switch. I really hope they can squeeze it on there, even if they have to downgrade a few things. I only have the Switch and while I can live with not playing World, the thought of Monster Hunter getting entrenched in console wars this gen has me feeling afraid and disgusted.
@@emblemblade9245 I figure that they'll be alternating between home console/pc and portable consoles between titles. It's not really a console war, just alternating. They'll probably want to make something in World graphics which wouldn't be doable on a Switch
@@greymon1665 But it is a console war because you’ll see people on both sides feeling burned that they can’t have all new entries of the series available on each console they own. There’s people who port-beg Rise for PS4/Xbox after all. And who knows what great monsters or features will be missed out on when you can only play half the entries? I have no desire to get another console, it’s just not convenient to me. So I wish the series could just compromise and be developed on all systems from here out, even if they still develop “A team” and “B team” type games. I don’t care what downgrades need to be done to get it on the Switch, I’ll take anything, that stuff doesn’t bother me
One thing you missed thats pretty small, but covers how weapons interact with the enviroment and animations. When you reload a gunlance, the amount of casings ejected from the lance 1-1 corresponds to how many shells you are missing. Its really cool when you notice but I never noticed it for years.
I was doing something at the same time watching this great video and was snapped back to it when i heard the term "Aids Monkey" about Garangolm. Loved it
real hunters don't have a horse in the stupid "World vs Rise" nonsense war. it's a stupid war started by toddlers with console brand allegiance, who fought the equally stupid consolewar. real hunters moved from PS, to PC, to 3DS, to Wii, even to WiiU, to PS4, and to Switch. brand loyalty was NEVER a thing in monhun communities. only franchise loyalty.
I didn't even think about the Vampire Inspiration that much, but they really took it far with malzeno, the qurio represent the vampiric bats and like Dracula he doesn't even own these powers, he got them from the literal personification of the Devil, Gaismagorm. Very cool ^^
Rise is not controversial in the core community and isn't limited by switch. Rise is another game in the classic series while World is a westernized outlier to bait new people in.
Fun one. Daimyo hermitaurs spawn with random shells. When broken there is a table for picking up skulls they can equip. These change the attacks it has access to. The most common is a spiral, which gives a butt shove. Another is gravios, which gives a water beam. The rarest by far is the diablos skull, which lets them do an actual ground burrow dive like an actual diablos.
Another cool detail that a read on twitter is that gaismagorm is like the devil itself and the malzeno is dracula, its just like the history of Dracula when him makes a pact with devil, Malzeno makes a pact with gaismagorm that's why only the two of them can use quirios but malzeno uses in much less way than gaismagorm. Sorry by my english by the way.
so glad you mentioned the bell/chime of the mizutsune hammer! it's my main weapon and i love hearing the bell when i sheathe/unsheathe :') and my new favorite little detail is the tiny flower you pointed out on garangolm. it's so cute!
I believe most "super attacks" happen when the monster is about to leave its rage state without being exhausted, and the big red explosions of afflicted monsters happen at the same time. For example, I was fighting Seething Baselgeuse, and I saw it doing its super attack (shining nuke slam). As a lance main, my first instinct faced with a huge telegraphed attack was to anchor rage it. Unfortunately, I carted, not because of the slam, but because of the red blast right after it, which I wasn't prepared for. The moral of the story is, when fighting afflicted monsters, know that their big finisher moves are immediately followed by the big red slap of death. It might save you a cart.
Fun fact: Lunagarons animation for when he misses his grab is similar and I’m not sure but taken inspiration of the titanfall 2 animation that monarch has.
The Magnamalo detail reminds me of the Moga Chief from MHtri, when he used to tell us the lagriacus was an old nemesis of his he could never beat, and in mh3u you face the Ivory lagriacus and its revealed its the same that the Moga Chief faced in his youth, he even thanks you for finally completing his quest
The video from team darkside about details is 100% biased.
@@marcusaaronliaogo9158 that isnt a serious comparison and not meant to shit on rise, its just a joke
I have only played 2 mh games and i like rise a lot more than world
My favorite Lunagaron animation is when it _does_ grab you. After taking bites out of you and tossing you aside, instead of a finisher while your hunter is exposed like other monsters, it takes the time to lick its claws as if to say "yeah that shit hit the spot."
The disrespect is strong with that one
Seeing Lunagaron look into its palms in disbelief that it didn't grab you is like watching a slapstick comedy gag. It's hilarious. And people act like the monsters have no personality 😂
The way its ears perk for a second, then droops them comically low.
“Haha! Gotcha- wait tf?”
When you break kulu ya - ku’s Little Rock he gets all sad makes me feel like a bully while beating him to near death 😓😂
A similar detail is that if Pukei-Pukei is eating a mushroom in the middle of the fight and you steal it, it reacts angrily and tries to punish you for it. I laughed out loud the first time I saw that.
Eh- wuh?
Another detail you didn't mention, Garangolm is the name of the scientist
The book only refers to the monster as "Garangolm's monster"
That’s an interesting tidbit of information that connects that monster even further to the european theme of sunbreak

As an audio engineer I appreciate your recognition of the sound design in this game. MH sound design is truly phenomenal. One of my favorites is the sound Malezeno makes when he teleports. Malzeno sound design is top notch in general.
The screech he does right before launching his ultimate is also fantastic
have started playing the game on PC with headphones recently and the difference it made to playing it on Switch with nice speakers is mind blowing I feel like it's a whole new game again tbh
@@Oceaniz My fav is the sound Namielle (MHW:IB) makes when doing her "dive ultimate". Insane sound design
For the Espinas portion of the vid:
Espinas doesn't actually remove the endemic life from the map, when Espinas eats a paratoad or poisontoad they spawn in when the unique animation begins, meaning they aren't actually the collectable version of the endemic life they represent.
I believe it also eats hornetaurs in the citadel. I’ve only seen this once in the sap area, so I’m not even sure if it really happens.
The Hornetaur it eats spawns just like the toads
For the relics lore, you forgot to mention the relics are all hints to find the rare endemic life, and the background of the relic shows the time of day to catch the rare endemic life of the locale!

Some details I remember seeing:
-Monsters stopping for a drink, happens a lot in the beginning area of the Shrine ruins, and it's always cool to see
-Somnacanth eating fish from fish ponds, I think the crabs do it too
-Chameleos eating little bugs with its tongue
-Rajang taking a shortcut through the flooded forest by jumping on top of a pyramid
-Kulu stealing a rathian's egg right in front of her lol
-Basarios disguising as a rock like it does in the old games, only saw that once but it was really cool, I thought it couldn't in this game
-The cats that drive the little train in Elgado taking a break, and also the researcher cat from the lab sleeping in his room upstairs
-Shogun ceanataur sharpening its claws
-Anjanath loafing like a cat, always adorable
And many others. There's a lot to see, I wish the game incentivized finding those interactions more. It's a shame you can never get anywhere near a monster without it either noticing you, or getting into a fight with bullfangos and crabs.
Have you seen Aknosom preening?🥺
It looks like an umbrella and it's cute.
@@magnabueno5360 and after basking in how cute it is🥺 you run up to it and mutilate it for materials to make shiny new sword😁
brachydios in world also loafs like a cat and stares out pensively into the distance. its adorable.
You sure its not just bad luck?i had issues with rakna never wanting to appear in the desert for expeditions.
Huh.
U actually can
I found him the first time I stepped into the expedition in sunbreak,
Two details of Rise/Sunbreak i really like are:
1st: When you kill a Monster (small or big) and a Remobra is close, it will land and start eating the dead monster.
2nd: the Fox that can be found at night at the top of the mountain in the shrine map can differently respond to you depending on the gesture you use.
Also inside of the volcano, you can find a Phoenix-like endemic life sometimes
When I found it, I was a bit confused since there was suddenly a squawking sound, after a while of looking at it I attacked it and watched it fly out of the top of the volcano.
There are several small monsters and endemic life that feast on the carcasses you left behind, both in World and Rise.
I absolutly adore this fight as it always reminds me of just two dogs playing with each other.
i love watching a rajang pull a rath out of the air and slam it back down by their tail
I saw this! I didnt react cuz i was midfight and panicking but I remember it vividly
One of my favorite details of rise and sunbreak is when chameleos sets up his fog or turns invisible same goes for lucent nargacuga is the music will be muffled which is my favorite in the game
That was something that would happen since MH4.
Eh, I personally don't like that. It's a cool detail, mind you, but for me it kinda just annoys me when the music is just barely noticeable
@@electroshockgamer2733 Thought it was cool. First time I was like “oh shid… 😳”
@@toottootsonicwarrior5777 since its introduction actually.🤓🤓🤓
Some other cool details I discovered by accident or by connecting dots:
1) Somnacanth, while swimming or preparing to do its Sleep Nova, can be interrupted by a Sonic Bomb.
I actually thought the same thing about Gaismagorm too. Glad I’m not the only one who thinks about that.
Tigrex getting stuck charging has been there since Freedom 2. back then I abused the shit out of that because I couldn't beat him otherwise
Diablos also can get his horn stuck much like tigrex's mouth.
So basically the reason scorned magnamalo is so angry is because he has no maidens
Well one way to look at it is from that Jurassic Park 2 quote,
Dieter Stark: It gives me the creeps.
@Felipe NS house sparrows cause trouble to soo many ecosystems to the point where its encouraged to shoot them and they dont try to kill you the moment they spot you, though I suppose thats not an entirely accurate comparison as theyre rather small. but deer are the same thing too
Except that in the older games that’s how it was and world was in a different continent where monsters don’t experience humans
Its gentleness is because golems are often made to be guardians.

fuck man, i am still looking for them, i get in to an expedition from time to time to se if i can get any new ones.
Here's another detail nergigante has visible ears directly under his horns
And then Yian Garuga was born from the deepest pits of hell

I love watching Espinas catch frogs! It's so cute
Not so cute for the poison toad though🙁
Espinas is one of the cutest monsters fr, especially considering it's docile nature
Yeah, it just opens it's mouth so wide for that single bite lol
A small addition to the hetmitaur blood fact. Although Hermitaur doesn't look like it was inspired by them visually, horseshoe crabs do have blue blood. It's also used to test vaccines for bacterial infections.
crab have blue blood in general
Because thier version of respiratory molecule uses copper instead of iron. Crabs have Hemocyanin instead of Hemoglobin.
Especially with the hardware limitations of the switch that they had to work with
The RE Engine definitely helps a lot but people underestimate what the Switch is capable of in the hands of devs who know how to work it.
Two more things that I noticed
1. Garangolm also has a flower on its butt
I call him Devilmole

I didn't realize the health clam from somnicanth was so rare. I've seen it happen often enough that I'm looking for that green shell every time it grabs one.
Is that a Master Rank new move? I've never Seen it do that
Nah. It does it even during the village quest when you first encounter it. Maybe it's because I still kinda suck at the game, thus giving the monster ample time to heal up.
@@goli8699 No, you dont need Sunbreak for him to be able to do that
This was such a great video.
I'm just gonna post reactions to the video in this comment lol
For the Garangolm ultimate nova thing, I never knew he had that UNTIL I fought the afflicted version with randoms. I had no idea what was happening, but I knew it was gonna be big since the camera panned out, so I superman dived away as all 3 of my teammates carted to the one attack... I was awe struck and dumbfounded
Holy shit I have never seen that Somnacanth heal clam despite hunting ~30 of them. That's amazing!! As well as the amazing name lore
Espinas has become my favorite monster in the series so far, and I actually theorized for a bit that he got his paralytic properties from eating parashrooms and the flying bug dudes whose names I can't remember right now. Glad to see I may have been partially right lol
That very last bit with the Scorned Magna being the one Fugen fought, I actually noticed that and thought it was really cool!!
Monsters in this World can live for a very long time compared to animals in our world.
You got the Sense, being able to dodge a powerful hit despite never seeing it before is a well honed talent. My condolences for the Pain Train squad.
God, this video makes me really want to play Sunbreak. I still need to finish up Elden Ring, but right after that it's monster hunting time.

One of my favorite details is the sound effects on weapons. In older MH games with Gravios, it's SNS made the coolest (or hottest) sound that was reminiscent of something being burned and a sizzle when you sheathed. So dope
Even though I'm taking a break from MH. I just cannot ignore content of other people talking about it. 😅
Just cringing at their angsty, edgy teen phase
Well, one Shagaru in the area affected by its frenzy virus. It's unlikely that its modified frenzy virus affects Gores globally. MH has a very primitive though rapidly advancing sense of the world (the phrase "the known world" comes to mind when that only covered at best a quarter to a third of the world)
@@darthplagueis13 so that's why Shagarus try to kill every Gore they find, they can't bear the edginess
Daimyo hermitaur and plum daimyo hermitaur had a limping animation in mh4u, and in GU both crabs had one
@@jamiehughes5573 that's because they removed the blood
@@angellara7040 I'm pretty sure the blood was still in 4 and GU.

I had a bug during my somnacanth farming in the early days and she would use the flash clam and heal clam at the same time.
Judging by the foreshadows we got from the Sandy Plains and Lava Caverns relics, I am like 99.9% sure this is relating to a monster we'll get to see later on in title updates
Edit: Also Malzeno has a supernova-like attack thats pretty hard to trigger.
@@meathir4921 I don't think Valstrax is "Steel blue" he is Steel but I wouldn't call it blue.
I believe the mention of steel-blue was changed to just steel, which is much more in line with Kushala Daora, which not only has heavy connections to, but was also released with the Jungle area.
Actually Espinas eats Hornetaur in the area with that pool goo to replenish it's paralysis attribute
Also, Malzeno teleport by galloping quickly using it's tail while simultaneously hiding it using it's 'blood mist'
@@funni_noises I figured thats what it was doing, but I never really bothered with the Tigrex, so there was only one time I walked up to it
the animation that lunagaron makes when he misses the grab is a direct reference to crash bandicoot as its one of his animations from the old crash games, i only noticed cause i saw the way lunagaron's ears moved.

Gameplay: Monster Hunter, so far above most of games nowadays
Roster: ok, far from 4u and GenU, just fewer than Iceborne
And I didn't knew any of these details, only Espinas eating toads
and I now realise I only hunt monsters, and don't try to know more about them, I won't do the same error with MH6
roster is more a case of quality over quantity in the case of rise that why it shouldnt really be an issue in my eyes
Rise/sunbreak definitely needs more brute wyverns literally theres only barroth & anjanath
Such as Khezu leaving its cave and being fought outside for the first time, but never drawing attention to this, despite “never being seen outside of it’s cave” and “no one knowing how it goes between different caves” being explicit details from the past
thats fair, I also HATE how cutting off Rathians Tail doesnt disable its poison anymore/not as much as in prev games
maybe a future video?
Honestly I love that in rise minoto is drawing something and then gets stressed out and rips it up
Considering the switch limitations and COVID troubling a lot of the development , a lot of things about rise are understandable , they knew where they had to put there priority and it shows .
On the somnacanth part
The western localisation with MH is super good but the big problem names is that sometimes we have to wait a long time before having an interview that finally explain the choices that can be obscure at time (thinking about narkakos)
Bazel just decided that it owns everything
I think it’s unhealthy to say that just because World did something means that every following appearance from the thing it did has to follow the same template.
17:06
I saw the same thing with Astalos and Espinas.
21:11 i can feel the heartbreak
Another small detail I noticed today, is that when you use a wire bug, it will go back to you after a couple seconds.

I just checked the channel for new uploads, and see this uploaded 30 mins ago! Hell yeah!!
I started with world and those guys are also annoying to me.
You think they'd realize that gu was a re-release for the West
There's actually TWO flowers on Garangolm! One on his back, and another further down by his hips.
Im glad to see a positive video about Rise's details. I thought the TDS video on World vs Rise details was very biased towards World because a lot of random endemic life animations would just eat up performance on the Switch. The TDS video portrays it as a "downgrade" instead of a limitation the team had to work with
The comments on that video made me lose so many braincells.
Did you really just call afflicted garangolm "aids monkey"🤣
I was doing something at the same time watching this great video and was snapped back to it when i heard the term "Aids Monkey" about Garangolm. Loved it
real hunters don't have a horse in the stupid "World vs Rise" nonsense war.
it's a stupid war started by toddlers with console brand allegiance, who fought the equally stupid consolewar.
real hunters moved from PS, to PC, to 3DS, to Wii, even to WiiU, to PS4, and to Switch. brand loyalty was NEVER a thing in monhun communities. only franchise loyalty.
It's less about console brand allegiance, and more about two very different fundamental differences in game design.
It got started cause people who only played World were upset that Rise is different
FIRST.
First non patron to comment.
Goss Harag does a really cool menacing walk towards if you get knocked down by certain moves

and my new favorite little detail is the tiny flower you pointed out on garangolm. it's so cute!
Fun fact: Lunagarons animation for when he misses his grab is similar and I’m not sure but taken inspiration of the titanfall 2 animation that monarch has.
i love how the khezu hunting horn plays the khezu roar noise instead of music, its such a minute detail but like it makes the weapon 10x better.
6:35 i love the lil sad look that Lunagaron does too
The Magnamalo detail reminds me of the Moga Chief from MHtri, when he used to tell us the lagriacus was an old nemesis of his he could never beat, and in mh3u you face the Ivory lagriacus and its revealed its the same that the Moga Chief faced in his youth, he even thanks you for finally completing his quest
I didn't know Lunagaron had a grab attack until recently.
17:12 WHAT?!?
