One thing you can say about this pilot, though: at least you can see it. Compare it to the Generation X pilot, which was way too dark. Granted, dark show hide a low budget (poorly dressed sets, bad costumes, bad makeup), but it's still something to say. Also, is this truly worse than that other bad Justice League live action outing, Legends of the Super Heroes? I know the latter wasn't called "Justice League", but that's what it was (just like how Super Friends is a Justice League show). Granted, Legends actually has Batman (Adam West at that), but it's nowhere near the quality of the 1960s series it was clearly trying to ride the coattails of. But I guess we're bound to get a video which at least mentions the two in the same breath.
What could have worked is if the Martian Manhunter and the Flash were survivors of the first iteration of the team, which did consist of Superman and company, and that what we were watching was the MM rebuilding the team to the point where we, as the audience, could find out what had happened, and that the first iteration of the team were still around, but required measures to rescue them from a "big bad", like Starro or Despero. That search for the missing JLA could be done during season 2 of the series, before we get to season 3, featuring the original JLA, along with the new team. And, yes, you can have a rotation of Superman, Batman, WW, etc. depending upon the mission, where you don't have to worry about conflicting IPs.

I actually HAVE seen this movie... it was campy carbage but still had a way better plot than the new Justice League movie. They managed to actually have developed characters thanks in large part to the weird choice to film the entire movie like they were on a reality show. Unlike the higher budget Justice League movie that doesn't really have characters.
Ugh. Do yourself a favor and read the Giffen/DeMattais version of the Justice League. AKA Justice League International or JLI. That is the tone and vibe (and many of the characters) they were going for here, with more of a comedic take, as opposed to constant superhero action. That run was actually one of the more popular eras of the comics, despite not often having a list heroes on the team. Now granted this version went more for a super-powered "friends" approach, but that was the style of the time. I think it could have worked. My only issue is this Green Lantern looks and acts more like Kyle, but they named him Guy. Give him a bowl cut, make him 100 times more obnoxious, and give him the romantic subplot wit in Ice instead of Atom, and we'd be on the right track. Throw in Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, and maybe even Elongated Man, and it'd be perfection!

One expects minor changes - we already knew life on Mars was absent or extinct, so changing J'onn Jonzz's planet of origin would have been OK with me, I think. At least the "Legends of the Superheoes" [1979] had the saving grace of being a COMEDY. It was this bad, but it intended to be, and the costumes and effects were comparable to this movie.
The hairstylist should have been nominated for an Emmy Award. Well, am I wrong? Look at every scene, okay, TRY to look at every scene-not one hair out of place.
I feel like you can go pretty far with a Justice League show shot like the Office. It would just take you through the everyday work of the Justice League fighting villains, but being very low-stakes and more focused on the comedy and the way characters bounce off of each other.
I'd say The Atom wasn't exactly disliked or forgettable at the time. I know CW made him more popular thanks to Brandon Routh's portrayal, but even before that the cartoons made extensive use of the character.
Well at least this Flash isn't like the DCEU Flash aka creepy dude. In the comics Guy Gardner has been with Ice, funny enough. It has been a plot in comics that some superheroes have erased ppl's memories of a superhero's identity. But i think the event happened after this pilot.
Roger Corman’s take on the FF was actually very faithful to the comics. It suffered only from a lack of budget. Then again it was only made to keep the rights to the characters.
@@BuckHelton not really. The movie was so cheesy. The relationship between Reed and Sue came off creepy because of the age difference. The Jeweler character was basically the Mole Man from the comics. In the movie Ben Grimm turns human briefly for no reason and turns back into rock form. In the comics he can’t do that without some kind of technology. Johnny’s acting was so bad. The FX was horrible.
@@biguy617 the horrible effects were the result of an extremely limited budget. Yes, the jeweler did bear more than a passing resemblance to the mole man. That explains why The Flash and Atom have Batman & Robin mask mold look
I would just like to know why Green Lantern's suit isn't green
Hey, watch what you say, “that’s my girlfriend”. LOL 😂😂
Listen man, we had 12 week turnaround on this thing casting wasn’t even finished when we started the script got changed halfway through and our money got cut do you mind we did the best we could
My God. I always wondered what Michelle Herd did before Picard.
The Teal Lantern, great choice. MMH looking like King Piccolo from DBE😬.. And SFX wasn't done by ILM as youd think, but Microsoft Paint😂😂😂
The guy Fire likes is probably 18 years old; old enough to be a legal adult, but young enough to still be in high school and dating a 10th grader.
Also, I wouldn't mind seeing you review the short-lived DCEU show "Powerless."
When I saw the weather wizard I was like ha the Riddler from the Batman took some notes!
This pilot was based on Justice League International, which is one of my favorite comic series. Needless to say, yeah, this thing was pretty terrible for butchering it.
It's basically office in cosplay that sucks
Ngl I thought that was Kyle Rayner
I think it was better for Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman to not show up in this movie, I don't even wanna know how they could've look like in this "thing".
Yo!! Green Lantern in this pilot was played by the same guy who played Speirs in Band Of Brothers!
Mans out here confusing “anecdote” and “antidote”, but get “charcuterie board” right
My accent makes certain words hard to articulate unless I’m saying them in slow motion. “Portray” also sounds a lot like “betray” when I say it.
Did bro just say "giving antidotes about moments that never happened on screen"?
Anecdotes.
At least the "Legends of the Superheoes" [1979] had the saving grace of being a COMEDY.
It was this bad, but it intended to be, and the costumes and effects were comparable to this movie.
What would be cool is a video on the best Batman theme song!
The hairstylist should have been nominated for an Emmy Award. Well, am I wrong? Look at every scene, okay, TRY to look at every scene-not one hair out of place.
So that was what the Cryptkeeper was doing while he was alive.

This looks like it was at the same level as the unreleased Fantastic Four movie
And I had forgotten about Ben turning back into human form and back. Apart from that though it was quite faithful. The costumes were the most comic accurate of any FF movies.
I still can’t believe Charles Winchester the third is in this film lol 😂
Tbh what dc should of did was instead of wiping stuff clean with nan of steel universe they should of made a justice league movie first then give all the characters thier own solo movies what's scary now is the new batman and the new superman movies we dont know if they will use those into a future justice league movie
I loved this movie! Found the VHS at my only comic convention next to the unreleased Fantastic 4 movie!
I remember reading about this in the 90's and wanting soooo bad to watch this, I never did see it, kinda glad I didn't
to be honest, we ALL have a bad time being set on fire.
Man, we ain't no Justice League.
My condolences.
So it was pretty much what. They do this days. Suer heroe movies are made to preach instead of entretain just with more budget
What is the name of this TV serie?
Never saw the film and always thought the guy playing the lantern was portraying Kyle Rayner, nope the guy is “Guy.”
Alrighty Then…
The kid from the Adams family sequel? You mean the guy from Numbers?
I've actually seen this, it's really awful. Not something I'd want to do again.
just like the mcu had to use b side characters to make their avengers shared universe, if something similar happened to dc and they couldnt use superman or batman the roster of the justice league would probably look like the one used in this 1997 movie, also the roster of the 1976 legend of superheroes movie special is kinda funny has batman and many justice league members but theres not superman and wonderwoman or aquaman on the team, i think vee infuso should make a video about this tv special legend of superheroes from 1976, nice video
I would get it on blu ray just to add it to my collection of superhero films, most I don't watch but I like to have them.
I like most of the costumes. The atom just looks terrible though. It just looks so bad. The atom in general would look good if the whole suit is blue. The comic look isnt great either. The red and yellow is the issue
I honestly never even heard of this until I clicked on the thumbnail!
I'm guessing the bat embargo stopped batman doing live action shows
