I'm all for eye candy and fan service but even i have to admit that costume had "issues". And I don't just mean her boobs always on the verge of hoping out. The pants didn't work but the traditional bottom was off somehow. I think the two issues are the costume was just too tiny and didn't flatter the actress at all. And the actress herself, tho beautiful, just didn't have a superhero built. Tall and thin makes for a great runway model but, idk, it's like her torso was too long or something? Somehow I take Lynda Carter's costume more seriously than this one.
@@willdiesel8431 as I said, it's hard to put my finger on. That costume was just so odd. If the top were just a little higher, the chest piece larger, the belt wider and not so low maybe everything would have evened out better on her frame. When I say she is thin I don't mean she is a twig. She looked pretty tall which works for Wonder Woman but..I don't know. Maybe if the show got picked up they would have given her a better outfit. I am wondering now if they made it for someone else and just told her to roll with it because there was no more money in the budget for another one.
Great video. Thanks for breaking this story down. I didn’t know there were so many stars in the pilot. You forgot to mention Tracie Thomas though. She’s super talented and has a strong resume.
And how does DCEU Superman act like a ruthless vigilante? Killing one guy does not a ruthless vigilante make and he spends most time doing rescue work. He also doesn't torture people, unlike this Wonder Woman. The DCEU Superman is more introverted and unsure of himself than usual but that is not the same thing as being a sadistic vigilante who tortures and kills people when it isn't needed.
I wish they would have aired this show. I like to think that they would have made it better as it went on. Honestly I just really want a good wonder woman tv show. I mean how have we had a peace maker show before wonder woman. Done right and sticking to comic accuracy a wonder woman show is kind of a dream of mine. I love the characters so much. I grew up loving batman, superman, and x-men. And really didn't know anything about Diana but once I was in my mid 20s I started reading her new 52 stuff and then her rebirth stuff and I can honestly say I love wonder woman just as much as the rest of the trinity.
What if they where originally making it so that she would go on to get an arc about not being a bitch and learning what a superhero is about? Maybe they would add a live interest like the movie did?
That’s shorty from GI Joe. She seems like a solid WW. A show for such a character can’t be done though. She’s too large of a presence. They’d have to really dumb her down. No Thymescyra, no other Amazonians lol
This is how I always imagined Winder Wiman being. I'm going to contact Warner Bros about releasing this ad a complete movie because it looks a lot better than what we got in theaters.
This was probably classic case of the network or production studio making a tv pilot because their license for the TV rights was about to expire. And as usual classic TV production fashion they completely failed to understand the character's history/dynamic/and fan base. Shame because Adrienne is a very good actress and she was pretty much born to play this role.
Oh damn. I remember this. Nobody is better than Gal Gadot for Wonder Woman. The Snyder verse got a couple things absolutely perfect. Wonder woman, Gal Gadot, Harley Quinn, Margot Robbie, Batman, Ben Affleck, and superman Henry Cavill. Absolutely perfect. In my opinion.
The thing I never like about Wonder Woman is the face.she is.an Amazon Warrior Our whole concept is battle and fighting. And if you're done enough fighting and battling. Mercy is something least likely Wonder Woman would show.
Wonder Woman is a Warrior first, Super Hero second. She spent hundreds of years on countless battles getting bodies. Out of all the members of the Justice League, she was the most violent and had to adapt to a more gentler approach after many conversations with Superman and Batman. The early TV series was campy just like the early Batman series was. That was the times. I think you need to brush up on your Amazon lore. They're a violent Warrior class. That would kill you just for trespassing.
Great video. I’m so glad they never made the show on CW. She is part of the trinity and while the arrow verse was good none of them where the main 3. Let’s face it CW shows are just horrible.
Yes dc has made good shows they made Batman Lois and Clark the new adventures of Superman the flash(1990) and Gotham granted none of them were on the cw cause it didn’t exist as a network then
Yeah, DEK might have fixed the show had it been picked up, but might is a big word. Maybe they should have ordered a second pilot to see if any progress had been made.
Wait wait wait wait wait wait Wait Wait Wait Wait Wait DAVID E Kelly? Dude makes gold! Now I wish I could have seen a few seasons of this show!! Plus Adrianne Palicki is delicious :D
I glad that doesn’t get pick for a series since I shuddered to think what they will do for her villains : cheetah and giganta. Also I fell this isn’t Wonder Woman , more like captain liberty from that cancelled the tick series in the 2001
Clearly people here have mostly not heard of Adrienne.. she is and will always be a fabulous actress and as Diana Prince /WW .. you need to check up on her portfolio .. the girl can act.. and should be signed up and given another chance ...
I thought when I saw the premise of this show it was following Ozymandius from the Watchman Movie. A super powered individual with ties to the Greek pantheon. Also, Warner Brother's and DC always hire someone who does not study the source material in reference to these legendary characters. DC and Warner Brother's just allow writers to just remake a character so that it may sell toys. I do believe they may not care if the movie makes money or not because the money is in the sale of toys that will continue to make money long after the movie has left theaters. This premise of this show was totally out of bounds. The cast was exceptional but the story was so wrong.
It's baffling why Warner tapped David E. Kelley to write a ptich for the show. Most of his work was mostly legal drama like LA Law, The Practice, Ally McBeal, etc. at that point of his career.
@@cassiewatson3870 They should've went with Josh Friedman or Ron Moore just as an example. Both just finished their show run for Sarah Connor Chronicles and Battlestar Galactica respectively. Both show garnered audience and critical buzz at that time despite the latter prematurely ending. Not a fan of Alfred Gough's (Smallville) shows but he would have been a better fit.
@@RandalReid I don't understand why they can't get the current authors of the books who know the source material and have a knowledge of the characters instead of getting these Hollywood writers.
@@cassiewatson3870 Because not all comicbook writers want to write for TV. The payscale is different. It's not a steady job. And writing 20+ episodes per season for a syndicated show can burn you out quickly. Not to mention network meddling. Comicbook writing while still under the thumb of editorial is a lot more loose and the deadlines are more forgiving. You can also still do your own thing on the side (depending on your contract of course).
I suspect the reason this pilot didn't follow the lore of Wonder Woman was for budgetary reasons. The corporate setting was a lot cheaper to do than the fantastical world of the comic book. Overall, it's probably a good thing that the TV show was never made as it might have damaged the prospects for a Wonder Woman film. It's tough to get people to pay to see something that they can watch on TV for free. I think that may have been part of the reason why the Flash movie bombed. And Adrianne Palicki simply pales to Gal Gadot in the role. I really can't imagine anyone else but Gadot playing the character.
If I were the writer of this live action T.V. series, I would've based the story on the late 1980s George Perez version of the Wonder Woman comic book. That to me was the best version of her character.
I have seen a bootleg copy of this movie/pilot some of it’s not good but overall, I thought it was a really good the actress I think was an excellent choice to play wonder woman for the time, and David R. Kelly is a very good producer writer, but I think he didn’t do enough research on the source material and maybe he should’ve looked at the classic series And he might’ve been able to do a better job on it. I will also say that perhaps they should’ve re-shot the pilot and it might’ve been better. They could’ve added some guest, Heroes and their civilian IDs to help create the idea of a justice league series as well, that’s my opinion of course many people might have a different one. So I figured I’d post this and you can I guess tell me what you all think about it too
Themyscirans are warriors..like brutal, spartan level warriors.. So, I always thought it should be a plot point for any time you show Diana showing up in America for the first time, she gets in a bit of trouble because she just straight out murders some bad guys without fully understanding our laws. And then show that she has to learn to pick and choose when to use warrior beast mode vs. local and lovable hero mode in various situations.
I saw the whole pilot episode and even though the plot was off beat and not of the original DC Comics of Wonder Woman, I thought Adrianne Palicki did a good job of a certain portrayal of WW, and the action fighting scenes were good. They just needed to rewrite the script into the original WW storyline. I would like to see a good tv series version of WW. My choice for TV or Movie WW, would be Alexadra Daddario. Pedro Pascal played in this WW tv pilot and WW 1984 movie. Go figure.
Alot of the interpretations of WW iv seen were all warriors shes one of the few JL members with no qualms about killing when necessary. Honestly i prefer the more hardcore WW over the linda carter style WW
Especially when it comes to the Trinity. You have Superman the one who always sees the best in people and will always do the good thing Batman the sceptical one who always sees through the BS and always sees the darker nature in people and WW who was born to fight and lead the one who will do what is necessary when no one else will. They're 3 separate sides to the same coin all representing different aspects to the same thing which is why imo the Trinity has always worked so well
Palicki strikes me as an example of how fickle Hollywood is for actresses. Almost 20 years ago, she was the hot and fresh new face in Electra Luxx, where she rocked the male audience making out with Carla Gugino. Since then she has probably had a steady, productive career building a resume on the screen by any reasonable measure, but her opportunity to be an A-List star is long past. However unfairly, the audience's attention span for "the next big thing" is brief. The industry publicity machine and our short attention spans creates a never ending cycle of actresses who are the flavor of the week before we tire of them and quickly move on to the next glamorous shiny bauble/newcomer. Only a rare few hit a home run and stay on top after their breakthrough like Julia Roberts with Pretty Woman or Sandra Bullock in Speed. There's only so much room on the red carpet. Does anyone know what Jessica Stroup or Jessica Szohr are up to 15 years after they first became prominent? They probably have been quietly plugging away happily with supporting roles, more successfully employed than most performers. But only their loyal hardcore fan clubs could trace their career paths. Has Amy Smart been on the tip of anyone's tongue since she was excellent in Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds? Heather Graham burned brighter than most for several years but has she been on any late night shows in recent memory? Clearly a contributing factor is a youth obsessed culture but such talent becomes familiar,, relegated to the background while they are still in the prime of their youths. Has Kate Capshaw been getting any attention or excitement for being a good actress since leaving Grey's anatomy? There are plenty more good actresses Hollywood relies on to make movies possible than great ones allowing huge opening weekends pulling people into theaters. The shelf life to be a sexual lure to moviegoers is clearly (and unfairly) much shorter for the ladies, notable with absurdities like Jack Nicholson (63) playing romantically opposite Helen Hunt (35), or Sean Connery in his sixties courting Maria Bello or Catherine Zeta Jones in ther thirties.
There was almost a Wonder Woman who was worse than this one. William Dozer (who created the Adam West Batman series) wanted to do a Wonder Woman series. He created a truly awful (and not very funny) 5 minute test pilot. You can watch it here, if you want: th-cam.com/video/wzzTxmEa4b8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QW-bB5uhi6CBQaIm
They most likely thought the look of the actress would make up for the crap of the series. 5:38 this part in particular looks like something you would find on the cover of a Wonder Woman based Adult film if you catch my meaning
@@Flyboy1953 It's unclear if Wonder Woman was tricked. Under the influence of the lasso Max had to tell her the truth, and Diana has absolute faith that Max was telling the truth due to that. However, it is possible that Max used his powers to get Wonder Woman to kill him. When Max said "Kill me" not only was he telling the truth due to the lasso, but at the same time he might have been pushing Diana to kill him. Something to consider is that death in the DCU isn't as permanent as it is in the real world. Max might have been counting on being given a chance to return later (which ended up occurring).

A hero selling herself as a product...? Very Dumb.
She complained about the boobs but didn't do anything about them!😲
She's not wafer thin. As a TV portrayal I don't see how you have more of a problem with this version than the similarly built Ms. Carter.
She's better built for the part than the movies' one.
Now if only someone would leak the "Marvel's Most Wanted" pilot (a 3rd failed pilot starring Adrianne Palicki)
Adrianne Palicki was starring cast member of both Friday Night lights and The Orville.
Since I knew nothing about this pilot, I initially wondered if Ewes' character was Maxwell Lord.
She was also in the 3rd season of Smallville, ironically enough.
That’s shorty from GI Joe. She seems like a solid WW. A show for such a character can’t be done though. She’s too large of a presence. They’d have to really dumb her down. No Thymescyra, no other Amazonians lol
Love Wonder Woman 84 movie
She makes a better Wonder Woman fro seeing her in the video than that Gadot crap.
It's like the prototype of Iron Fist if you think about it...
Also Lynda Carter turn down offers to return as Wonder Woman over the years. Only to finally come back in Wonder Woman 1984.
This version of Diana Prince sounds a lot like Ozymandias from WATCHMEN
I agree and don’t agree with the comparison with the man of steel superman and this version of Wonder Woman.
16:00 XD nice! Hahahah!
She can still get it
The thing I never like about Wonder Woman is the face.she is.an Amazon
Warrior Our whole concept is battle and fighting.
Dc has never made a good superhero show. I guess that's the problem when CW a money laundering network is the one doing these shows.
Wait wait wait wait wait wait

DAVID E Kelly? Dude makes gold! Now I wish I could have seen a few seasons of this show!!
Plus Adrianne Palicki is delicious :D
I've seen it I liked it have it on DVD with other TV polits never seen Batgirl elcotr woman and dyna girl super boy super pup list gose on
I glad that doesn’t get pick for a series since I shuddered to think what they will do for her villains : cheetah and giganta.
Also I fell this isn’t Wonder Woman , more like captain liberty from that cancelled the tick series in the 2001
_The plot for this pilot feels like something an A.I. would wrote....... way before A.I. was a thing...._
99% of these live-action porn parodies are just embarrassing!...
I'll stick with the animated stuff you find on the R34 websites thank you very much!
where can you watch the pilot?
I was wondering the same thing
Can't remember where but i've actually seen this & i would put it on the same level as the bionic woman tv series remake of the early 2000s.
Bionic woman remake was better than this.
_"Is that Wonder Woman?"_
Maybe this could had worked If this was about Karen Starr/Power girl? Making Diana into a CEO was a bit odd
@@RandalReid I believe that the studio looked and saw his name. It was going to give them the credibility of escalating the show because of his name.
Still better ways to handle it.
If I were the writer of this live action T.V. series, I would've based the story on the late 1980s George Perez version of the Wonder Woman comic book. That to me was the best version of her character.
I remember a trio of Channel Awesome reviewers collaborated on a review of this garbage back in the day.
Pants to be darkened, indeed.
The actress definitely had the looks, but unfortunately the writers didn't understand the character.
i think this was around the time that they had mess up the wonder woman comics
The lasso of truth looks like a Spaghettio
So I figured I’d post this and you can I guess tell me what you all think about it too
It's like somebody thought we wanted Boss Bitch : Wonder Woman ! 😂
Okay...I'm going to say it. Linkara (yeah, THAT guy) reviewed this show and kept saying "PANTS TO BE DARKENED!" what the hell does that mean!?
To fit with the dark theme of the latest Batman movie?
It was a reference to the production notes that appeared randomly on the screen. One of them was "pants to be darkened".
Wonder Woman as always been a ferocious warrior she ain't as nice as superman
Not with humans or non powered aliens
Never heard of this 1 🤔
I saw the whole pilot episode and even though the plot was off beat and not of the original DC Comics of Wonder Woman, I thought Adrianne Palicki did a good job of a certain portrayal of WW, and the action fighting scenes were good. They just needed to rewrite the script into the original WW storyline. I would like to see a good tv series version of WW. My choice for TV or Movie WW, would be Alexadra Daddario. Pedro Pascal played in this WW tv pilot and WW 1984 movie. Go figure.
But she’s not just an Amazon
She’s a demigod
Much stronger than the regular Amazons
Alot of the interpretations of WW iv seen were all warriors shes one of the few JL members with no qualms about killing when necessary. Honestly i prefer the more hardcore WW over the linda carter style WW
Especially when it comes to the Trinity. You have Superman the one who always sees the best in people and will always do the good thing Batman the sceptical one who always sees through the BS and always sees the darker nature in people and WW who was born to fight and lead the one who will do what is necessary when no one else will.
They're 3 separate sides to the same coin all representing different aspects to the same thing which is why imo the Trinity has always worked so well
I'm sure alot of people prefer that one over the one that was campy. That's no shock there.
She's supposed to be a warrior the same way jedi are.
She definitely looks the part though lol.
Lol, pedro pascal was wonder woman's buddy in this one and then a villain in 1984
Hope you have been doing good Vee-diggity
Again when Hollywood writers dont give a d@m about the character.
No Steve???😮
There was almost a Wonder Woman who was worse than this one. William Dozer (who created the Adam West Batman series) wanted to do a Wonder Woman series. He created a truly awful (and not very funny) 5 minute test pilot. You can watch it here, if you want: th-cam.com/video/wzzTxmEa4b8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QW-bB5uhi6CBQaIm
MY kind of woman, Wonder Wonan LMFAO
Nopes. The folks that did the '60s Batman did a pilot for a very nerdy interpretation of Wonder Woman that was just so much worse than this was.
They most likely thought the look of the actress would make up for the crap of the series. 5:38 this part in particular looks like something you would find on the cover of a Wonder Woman based Adult film if you catch my meaning
Don’t forget, Wonder Woman snapped the neck of Maxwell Lord. She’s been pretty dark in the comics too.
Not just that but when confronted by Batman and Superman about killing Lord in "Infinite Crisis" she made no apologies for her actions.
It’s not the worst. The pilot for the one in 1968 was WAY worse. Adrienne would have looked perfect if they had just stayed with the LC version.
I actually like this Business Woman take.
Diana isn't really a demigod in the comics (at least not until the New 52). She was created and empowered by gods.
In the original, she is just a jacked up Amazon(and hence, one could say a low-tier god).
Looks like we missed out on slop.
I've never heard of this show but she looked like an amazing Wonder Woman
