Superman behaves so weird in my opinion. I mean, the kid grew up in the US right? He behaves like a stiff guy who doesnt know anything about basic, regular LIFE!
It feels so wrong that Superman is able to do everything on his own like, Flash should be faster than him, Wonder Woman an arguably better leader, and able to connect to people, Cyborg should be better with technology, Aquaman is the best when it comes to water, and no slacker in the strength department, and Batman should be more analytical and strategic, use deductive reasoning as well as having resources, although his wealth isn’t his only aspect. When having a group, each character needs to bring something to the table that no other character has, have a niche only they can fill.
Blue Skylark I hate this movie as much as you do, but what is it you guys want? It makes it so hard to take this kind of criticism seariously when you guys complain when superman doesn’t have godmode and then are also trying to say you don’t think he should be over powered? And shouldn’t be able to do the things his charchter by design is able to do and always has? Superman did not run with his legs he was flying, when has superman ever not been able to fly that fast? Remember when he spun the whole planet in the opposite direction when Lois died off of his flight speed alone? People have no idea what they want from superman, and it sucks that the only directors we seem to have that are willing to touch any of these hero’s listen and shape their movies around confused and contrived criticism
Prince Charming how did u take it as “Superman shuda been weaker” instead of “the other characters besides supes shuda been stronger in their own aspect”.
Even as a young kid I quickly lost interest in Superman because of his boring wholesomeness and easy omnipotence. I'd still pick up a comic just to see what weirdness the writers had come up with, but what fun is a hero without defects to overcome?
Paramount contractually obligating Henry Cavill to keep his moustache throughout the reshoots and forcing WB to use that horrendous CGI replacement is one of the greatest acts of cinematic trolling in all of history. I pray that there's an extended sequence in MI6 where Cavill shaves off the moustache, looks directly into the camera and says : "Now that wasn't so hard was it ?"
To add on to that, the talking tree could ever only say one, "I am Groot." (We are Groot if you count that one occurrence) One fricking line and he conveys more emotion.
The opening should have had Diana fighting Steppenwolf, losing badly, watching her Amazons getting destroyed which would see *her* recruit a team which had more than just brute strength, hence her need for members with a variety of skills.
One of the greatest villains I've seen in my life was Darkseid in Superman the animated series. Buff guy had incredible charisma, and it was enhanced by his deep, personal connection to Superman. Also, because Michael Ironseid. 😃
One of the things I find an issue with Justice League is that they tried to "catch up" with Marvel. Marvel at that point had spent years developing each of their characters individually before the first Avengers film, so when we got to that first Avengers film we knew the characters and their motivations. Justice League on the other hand did not have that many previous films, only films for Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, and did not introduce any of the other main characters. This means they have to waste time introducing the other members of the League, which doesn't really do a good job in introducing them. What is Barry's motives other than "He needs friends"? Essentially Warner Bros wanted to cash in on a big team up film without laying the groundwork before it.
Even then this issue happened BEFORE Justice League. Batman. THE BATMAN. Didnt even get his own movie. He was introduced in a SuperMan movie. Wtf is wrong with them...
I agree with "catching up" to marvel. the film is a shitty cash grab like suicide squad and batman v superman before, as seen when they rip off marvel intro and they even have the massive balls to include the fucking green lantern
In all seriousness-at first I was thinking "I guess I need to watch this travesty" and then I realized that I HAVE seen it, but immediately deleted it from memory.
Ho-ho-holy shit that’s good. And a good summary of the impact of this movie, too. Meanwhile Infinity War was the word on everyone’s lips for two months, and that’s just before it released in theatres...
Justice League Hero's in a nutshell: Batman - I'm rich Superman - I died Wonder Woman - I am woman Cyborg - Crunch the numbers Flash - Joji Aquaman - What can I saaaaaay except you're welcome
I love how the Amazons had thousands of years to prepare for the bad guy to come take the box and their entire great strategy they came up with? Squishing themselves with rocks.
@@3DSDF So what, the comics is the source material, not JL cartoon. A female civilisation is still stuck 300 BC after 2000 years. JL cartoon was not too accurate to the comics with man-hating Amazons and angry Diana. Amazons are supposed to toughest warriors in DC. Hippolyta is supposed to be stronger than Hercules
The Amazon's didn't gain any newer technology. They see technology as a threat of man. They didn't want to change their ways, instead they wanted to keep their ways. They didn't know what terror could be coming and with what technology.
Feels weird when Superman is literally an overpowered character and in marvel movies they try and balance all that out, Stan lee even pointed that out.
@Kelly Deadpool has a major flaw. He's got multiple voices in his head, which results in him being psychotic. He has superior strength, speed, stamina, etc. but his main power is his regeneration. Comparing him to Superman is like comparing Quicksilver to Flash. Superman and Flash are both OP but take away their powers using kryptonite or whatever to disconnect Flash from the speed force, they lose to Deadpool and Quicksilver.
I would too, seeing both being equally as great would easily end a lot of comparisons with the franchises. I agree they can do different things, kinda like winter soldier where it was more mature but still loved by all ages, and have others like iron man where it’s just one of them living a life and enjoying it but with consequences. And have them team up and conflict each other but still have resolutions
It was better, until cuck fans and Disney shills shit on its unique and sophisticated vision so bad, that the studio impeded with the directors visions, messed with the overarching story and ultimately abandoned their original concept completely.
@@christoferprestipino7433 Sophisticated my ass. If you think that generic, bland nonsensical SYMBOLISM made a quality show please.. Avatar the last airbender didn't to be edgy and yet it's full of beautiful metaphor, philosophy done right.
The problem is that this film behaves as if the heros were previously introduced... you know... like Marvel standalone movies before Avengers. Everytime I watch Avengers I still get excited when we get to the shot of the six together with their theme playing. It brings emotional investment bc we know these people, saw their struggles and we want the world safe and Coulson's death to be avenged. I feel nothing with this movie.
That was the issue with Batman vs Superman too. The inclusion of Wonder Woman would have been better if they had her Standalone movie first. Same with Aquaman and The Flash in Justice League. Cyborg seems a bit out of place altogether.
I watched Avengers without seeing any of the other movies or really knowing any of the characters and I was still able to connect and sympathize with the characters. They did a good job in establishing each character, making them all likable, and giving them all a purpose and plight. They each had their moments in the film and made satisfying contributions to the team. I came into Justice League already being a DC fan and knowing all these characters but I couldn't care for any of them. They all felt hollow because it's like the movie itself didn't care about them. It isn't neccessary to give each character a movie before throwing them together but this movie fails at even making these characters feel like they need to be there.
Batman was the worst part of this movie. They got his character completely wrong, he should have been the last person to join as he works alone and doesn't like asking for help at all. He would have been going mad trying to figure out what the cubes mean and how to stop whatever is coming. He is also completely underpowered in this film compared to BvS and insanely underpowered compared to the comics as in the latter part of the movie he can barley fight of one parademon he looks like a guy who goes to the gym once a week fighting Connor McGregor when it should be the other way around. His fighting style is nonexistent when he should be the best fighter in the movie at all times or closely tied with WW. He also shows too much emotion and talks too much when he should barley be talking at all.
Some good points but Batman has always been ridiculously OP. He’s a HUMAN. Regardless of his training (all fighters have warrior training) WW or any of the other JL would turn Batman to soup with one punch.
@@brussell639 yeah, batman in almost any other depiction would have planned on that happening, or just already convinced him, assuming he got into that scenario, not been surprised the big blue boyscout turned up to help
I feel as though Batman is almost always misrepresented when he's in movie's. Forgive me if I'm wrong because I'm not exactly what you'd call a diehard comic fan. But to me, among other things, in the comics, he's always seemed far less dark, brooding and murderous, and a bit more like a tired father. *A father who is opposed to murder and guns.*
Man you are such an obvious troll, haha. Gotta be at least a little subtle. You didn't even wait to see if I actually cared about the MCU, I don't really. I don't really watch movies.
Here's some story arc ideas that they could've gone with. Batman: He is obsessed with the guilt he feels from Superman's death and that leads him to make several rash decisions that get the team in trouble. He eventually learns to let go of that guilt and becomes a better team leader. Aquaman: Aquaman feels conflicted about which of his two homes he should prioritize protecting; the land or Atlantis. He brushes off Batman's offer to join the League because he feels conflicted, but later joins the League when he realizes that he needs to protect both of his homes. Cyborg: Cyborg could be like he was in that origin story episode of Teen Titans; unwilling to join a team because he sees himself as an unnatural monster, and his father doesn't know how to console him since he's been absent from his life. Finally, his father decides to actually talk to him as a parent and give him the encouragement he needs to join the team. Superman: He's dead. His story arc is that he stops doing that.
With Richard Grayson dead and cyborg in his late 20s I think they could have gone all out with the darker tone and added the titans being mostly slaughtered by trigon while they were imprisoning him. Some of the weight on Victor's shoulders could remain unspoken but come in the form of survivor's guilt.
Commenting because you asked. Yes continue doing some longer stuff. I love watching people dissect films and you do it in a very enjoyable way. So please keep doing this stuff. Thumbs up!
Oddly enough this movie has me pumped for the next Mission Impossible movie, I have to see the mustache that gave us this nightmare fuel. That's all I got out of it.
You forget how Batman's favorite weapon throughout the movie was.... repeatedly, guns. Fully automatic, or handheld, or vehicle mounted... guns guns guns.. y'know - those weapons he eschews completely in the comics... and he relies on others to put the team together... his ONLY contribution to the JL is usually as the guy who puts the team together. He's their THINKER.
as a very loyal batman fan, not a marvel fan but as a DC comics fan movies like justce league and batman v superman make me just upset, I just want to forget that they ever happened
I imagine a perfect superman scene would be a perspective from a mother with 2 child in a sinking ship( or burning building, falling plane, earth quake etc). They are desperated, no one was there that could help them. The mother knows they aren't going to make it but still decided tell her children:" Everything is gonna be alright." and hug them waiting for the end to come. And in that moment the ship started to rise, the water slowly go away, Superman was there, lifting the sinking ship out of the water "Sorry it took me so long". Just like that, a guardian angel. That's what superman is supposed to be. That's how you show the audience that Superman is the symbol of hope instead of bluntly telling them that the S means hope.
That would be perfect, the only things I could add to it was if after he would get them down and take a knee and start a conversation with them and asks if they’re alright
Treblaine cgi looks bad when its out of place. In the incredibles everything is cgi, the whole world is. In JL you can tell which part was added by computers and which part was real. One of the reasons why practical effects still have its place. Has nothing to do with whether pixar is good. Ask them to do JL’s cgi and they most likely cant
@@TheSmart-CasualGamer i agree with you, they are revolutionary, their cgi character really seems to come to life, but in a very different way compared to Avengers or JL though.
Looking at the scenes and they look like a cut scenes from some alien super hero video game. Great in depth discussion, I did not know I could watch 42 minute video without getting bored.
Supes: "BARRY! DONT DO THIS TO YOURSELF! I'LL CATCH AND STOP YOU!" Flash: "Nah homie... I gotta run away to save you idiots" Supes: "Psh we've raced alot and ive even beaten you a couple times! Imma catch your lil ass dont play" Flash: "... Clark... Those were for charity my dude" ***KRA-KRA-KRA-KOOOOOOOOOM!*** Supes: "... Well... Looks like he burnt my dumbass..."
Read the comics homie. This was actually a direct quote from when Flash dusted Superman's stoopid ass
And it is not even dug deep compare to the power, and danger that comes with it. That was very Lousy scene when I first watch it. LOL And aLso when they are digging Superman. They couLd have done it faster but it is Like they are ordinary humans struggLing and tired. No rush, no sense of urgency. That is very boring too! LOL
You bring him back with a supercharge of sunlight and say the result was his facial hair shot out, not much of a stretch. I mean he's a fucking alien that may or may not be really dead, who would have cared about the details of why he had a beard.
There is one thing in Avengers that I love. After the base destruction, Nick asks for survivors and Maria says she doesn't know how many left and how many were under. Nick's first orders were to rescue the survivors and then use the remaining teams to go after the cube. This is actually pure DC Superman I and II. The superhero that puts the civilians over the villains.
Scenes like that are exactly why Man of Steel and Batman v Superman were called out for their bullshit. Avengers never shyed away from the fact that civilians were in danger or even being killed. That was very real, and our heroes were doing their best to prevent that as much as possible. Man of Steel, on the other hand, goes through Metropolis without a single shot of how this is affecting the civilians. Batman v Superman does fix it somewhat in the beginning shot, but then they screw it up when they claim that the area the heroes are fighting Doomsday in just so happens to be void of people.
@starlight_93 Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming showed both sides on how people were affected. Civil War reminds us that people did lose their lives as the Avengers went to work. They were also saving lives, but they cannot be everywhere and save everyone, which is exactly why Captain America gets help from the police when they show up. Homecoming shows us that people's livelihoods were also affected, as Hydra attempts to profit off the alien technology coming to them and Tony Stark still not knowing what it is like to be the little guy in society. And some people are going to use what they have to their own benefit.
@@tobsonasanya4765 There is a news broadcast while the military confronts Doomsday on how the area where it is is mostly emptied due to work hours or something.
This is just my opinion but, I honestly hated what they did to Batman in this movie. As bad as the rest was, Batman was probably the worst part for me. I felt that his character was just wrong. Batman is a serious, menacing, brooding character, whose secret identity is of incredible importance to him. In this movie, he seems to spend more time as Bruce Wayne, and literally shows up to meet Aqua-Man as Bruce Wayne, revealing his identity without any hesitation. In the DC animated movie Justice League: War (which is pretty much this exact movie, but much better than this), Batman doesn't reveal his identity lightly, he does it serve a purpose, whereas in this movie he just shows up and tells Aqua-Man apropos of nothing. In fact, why does he recruit anyone as Bruce Wayne? Why didn't the Dark Knight show up where Barry Allen was squatting? It would've been far more intimidating and true to the character. Also, Batman isn't a comic relief, and rarely cracks jokes. But in this movie, he is taken so lightly it's almost unbelievable. There is nothing serious, or imposing about this Batman, and this movie fails to utilize a fascinating and dearly beloved character. This movie was just rushed, and seemed thrown together haphazardly. Most of Wonder Woman's character here just has to do with Steve Trevor; like everything about her in this just relates back to Steve Trevor, as if Wonder Woman, of all people, wouldn't have fought against evil because she was guilty about the death of one man. Not to mention the way that Cyborg was just kind of thrown in with little to no explanation, totally cutting anything that would make us care about him at all. I'm not trying to completely hate on this movie, but they had such wonderful characters to work with, and the Wonder Woman movie was great which got everyone's hopes up for this, and it just fell so far short. I don't agree that it's the *worst* superhero movie *ever* but it was definitely not what it could've been. Honestly, watch Justice League: War. It isn't perfect, but it does have nearly this exact plot, and it has Green Lantern, and a proper Batman, and a backstory for Cyborg, and just generally does a better job of everything this movie tries to do.
MissCookieThief honestly I think that this movie was just as good as justice league war and it was what I used to compare this movie. Sure, it got a lot wrong but in the end it's a fun movie
Later on in this Diana said she fought always when needed but in a slightly way like she saved those hostages pretty good and Gal did great as her earning a nominee for Teens Choice Action Actress

trevor hadley she did ok in justice league but it wasnt anything jaw dropping. Plus she doesnt really have what wonder woman has thats one of the main aspects of her character. Wonder womans fierceness and passion. Wonder woman is naturally a strong willed character with also a demanding personality. Gal while she is a bit of a good fit for wonder woman she lacks the passion and the natural strong nature of wonder woman, gal is just kind of mellow and chill tbh,not that thats a bad thing at all but it doesnt fit wonder womans character tbh
Wrong answer She did good as WW in JL like destroying Steppenwolf's Axe by defeating him and is a nominee for Teens Choice Action Actress, She is the Jupiter Award and Saturn Award Best Actress winner as WW and is prepping WW84 for Nov 1 2019, where WW84 will fix the stuff where Cheetah lurks and maybe crooks lurks
@@playeryokie5988 Because DC was trying to copy that encounter Hulk had with Loki. The only difference is Loki wasn't really the threat, the invasion was. Also, Loki's defeat at the hands of Hulk was fun and hilarious at the same time.
You don't have to tell me. I watched this with my dad when it was on Amazon prime video and my dad literally searched "has anyone died of boredom while watching justice league" while watching the movie. The movie was also so rushed (probably because of the 90 minute limit.)
@@hydrolito Because Warner Bros is run by Test Focus teams and they were extremely scared that people weren't going through another 2 hours and 30 minutes plus runtime, sometime that the former CEO of Warner Bros actually demanded! No surprise, he left shortly after this movie's release. Because when it comes to franchises, they panic and overcomplicate and/or oversimplify and thus ending up failing Both sides for executives and audiences.
Bruh, imagine with Barry's "batman what're your superpowers" bit, but it went like this instead Barry: What're your superpowers, again? Bruce: (he gives no response, but glances over at Barry in acknowledgement to his question. As the car doors gradually shut, for a split second you see a slight smirk on the older man's face.) I highly doubt this is at all what Batman/Bruce would act like or respond to Barry asking something like that...but it would've been much better and more subtly unique instead of them tryna force in a simple joke
Well, he is an alien while she is literally a demigod, the daughter of Zeus himself. So I would think she has the upper-hand. At the very least, she should have been shown as competent in her own right with or without Superman.
@@HickoryDickory86 I did something about if she were to take off her bracelets she becomes a full on gif or something . I may be wrong about this though.
U have to remember Superman gets an unreal amount of power from the sun which he is now two feet away from so she’s definitely not as strong as him. U can watch any dc animated film and Superman or Batman is always saving the day . ALWAYS
I love that you called a dark and powerful New Gods character by what would be his human alter ego name. Meet my friend, Stephen Wolf! When he takes off his glasses he is definitely not Steppenwolf, the Superman-murdering monster and destroyer of worlds! Don't mind Steve's ax, it's a family heirloom he carries with him, (he's kind of a mama's boy.)
That would have been a better movie. Also, a scene where he and Clark bump into each, their glasses fall off, and then they put on the others glasses, and there is a second of shocked recognition, would have won the Oscar for Best Picture.
You can't really feel bad about something like the MCU fans when they just got one of the most succesful movies of all time that both fans and critics enjoyed. That's simply not possible considering how happy Marvel fans seems to be
*Justice league in a nutshell. * Batman sees aliens, batman forms a team, batman feels the team is not enough, flash resurrects superman, superman fights the team, superman comes back to concience, the team fights stepphen wolf, superman saves the day. --end credits-- *the avengers in a nutshell* Nick Fury messes up with the cube, the cube summons Loki, Loki attacks shield, black widow recruits hulk, Nick Fury recruits Captain America, Phil coulsen recruits ironman, Thor comes on his own, the team gets formed, the team argues, the team realises what Loki is doing, aliens invade earth, the team defeats the aliens, avengers save the day --end credits-- What's the justice league for if superman saves the day.
It could have been nice IF zac had waited to bring Zod in AFTER the Justice League is formed. That would/could/should have been a good challenge for the JL. w/c/should have done the solo movies to establish the characters before JL so we don't have to spend 50 minutes of the team-up movie doing solo-story things that should have already been handled in their solo film. Also w/c/should have waited many movies to fake kill superman, not the second film. etc etc and floating rocks 10 minutes after his death to undermine ANY emotional impact was a lame move, but not as lame as "Martha"
@FtL Battusai That... doesn't follow logic at all, especially considering how the term god doesn't mean anything by itself without feats, the gods in the DCEU would be laughed at a bench press by any real world counter parts, and the fact that they have Wonder Woman who has in the DCEU already faced down a god and who's history in the mainline comics has her facing off against gods all the time and at least holding her own. Some of those gods were even Superman or above tier.
@@VunderGuy So... we've had WW get hit by a car and go flying we've also had Superman wrap chains around every planet in our solar system and fly them to a new spot he even flew so fast around Earth counter clockwise that he rewound time. There are many iterations of thease characters some are OP and some are not, the movies are allowed to stray from the comics and even create a new story if they so choose. Also Steppenwolf has already fought Ares, Zeus and Artemis and even killed a Green Lantern in the comics so Ares is nothing compared to Steppenwolf which means neither is Wounder Woman.
Your arguments are bad. A movie about a team, should be a movie, where the team saves the day (or as in Avengers 3, they try hard to save the day), not just one guy :) Plain and simple, also why Superman should be stronger than WW ? As you said there are many iterations of thease characters, so the writters just did the wrong choices. Also, Batman should have made the plan for victory (he was not smart in the movie) and Steppenwolf had mother issues (we don't know what were the boxes and if they are named "Marta").
@@wrestlinganime4life288 I disagree, JL was cut due to WB from the full snyder cut but cm serves no purpose other than her dumb agenda and connection to the mcu. Even the other marvel actors cant stand her if you watch interviews. I liked jl much better. But if we talk heroine, ww was eons better than cm. And im not even a huge ww fan.
they just over rushed it to catch up to marvel. marvel spent time to actually give everyone a story , in multiple movies until us the viewers where basically screaming for a group movie then making that epic, because we know all the hero's intimately and even without much story we know why they are there and what they are fighting for.
Yeah. I think one of the major flaws of their cinematic universe was using Superman to start it all. Where do you go from there? They should have tried again with a Green Lantern movie or something like that. An everyman who gets thrust into a fantastic world of superheros, who at the end gets a glimpse that he is just part of something much, much bigger. But Snyder was married to the idea that superheroes are modern-day gods (just look at that god awful church scene in "Man of Steel" where he reeeeeally tried to hammer this in) and Superman is their Jesus. It's kinda hard do identidy with him. Also, something briefly mentioned in this video: I just had no idea who Aquaman was and what his powers were. How strong is he? What does he bring to the team? See, with Wonder Woman I did kind of know this because she was established through her own movie.
$23 Million dollars. That’s was the reason for rushing the JL movie out. That’s the total amount of bonuses, that would have been lost by WB executives, if JL was delayed until the new year. (They couldn’t push it into December, since that month was already filled with big movies) Coincidentally, late December was the timeframe the CGI company said it would take for a properly finished product, according to a leaked WB memo.
its not that surprising really. Its hard to concentrate on doing your thing when all you're thinking about is the competition. I kinda feel bad for them. I hope they realize that its not a competition and just focus on doing what they do best, which is easier said than done lol. I love Marvel but i dont hate DC. I really hope they rise back up
There were two Great versions of this story that I've seen. There's the Start to Justice League the Animated Series which built off of Superman's & Batman's Animated Series. Then there's the DC Animated Movie Universe Justice League: War Movie which had to prove itself as the Second Movie, and First True Showing of the New 52 Continuity that they had switched to, and gave all the characters Depth. Well 'cept for Flash who kinda acted like a fanboy, but was actually the Main Character of the only Previous Movie in that continuity, the Flashpoint Paradox. Which is the Segue into this universe from the Original DC Animated Movie Universe where all of the characters had Already been established XD Its like Guys, if you're gonna try to make a DC Universe, Actually Take Hints From your Already Crafted DC Universes, the Animated ones Are Fantastic
When the Justice League animated series had a better setup for the team than the movie, you know it's time to hire those guys instead. WB has been making DC stories for decades, but for some reason when it comes to live action they act like amateurs who have no understanding of the source material. Did it ever cross their minds to bring in some of the veterans to help with the films? I can think of episodes from the shows that are better executed and more satisfying than the films so far. "Heart of Ice" from Batman: The Animated Series being one example.
Phil Lewis I think that's one of the reasons why I was so disappointed with this movie. The JL animated series was so good and enjoyable, while this was boring and bland. The only thing they had in common were the characters
problem is that movie universe just started out bad and rushed, animated series and movies had more thought process put in, there isn't many TV shows or movies i don't like from WB/DC except maybe the killing joke that was horrible
It's just sad. I love both Marvel and DC and like so many others I have waited ages for a JL movie. To receive this, after all those years of waiting and hoping is just disappointing to say the very least. We got our first JL live action movie and it was just... eh? How the fuck is this possible?
They made Superman so OP that the only goal of the "Justice League" was to resurrect him. After that, Superman saved everything by himself, taking all the glory from his teammates. What's the point of JL when Superman can do everyone's job better?! Edit: Wow, Superman IS a Mary Sue. The entire movie is about how wonderful Superman is, with Batman, the one person who should STILL be wary of the destructive alien (seriously, Bruce doesn't know him, doesn't know if he will just demolish another city without regard when the next supervillain steps up. Him having a mother doesn't change that), becoming his #1 fanboy. The bad guy only invaded when Superman is dead and can only be defeated with Superman around, Superman can single-handedly take on the entire JL, and render the Flash obsolete. The movie is all Superman, Superman, and Superman.
100 percent correct. The Russo brothers know that Mary Sues can ruin a movie and they successfully avoided having them in Avengers. As a result, the stakes feel higher and you get to care about all the main characters. Superman is a curse for JL.
@Jimbo Bimbo She is more so just extremely overpowered, rather than being a Mary Sue. Since being a Mary Sue would mean that the entire story revolves around making Captain Marvel as awesome as possible. The movie succeeds in avoiding that, but it doesn't succeed in making her interesting.
@Jimbo Bimbo True, she does lack a clear weakness. Hopefully that and/or she becomes more interesting for future movies. So either we become more invested in her struggle or we don't mind that she is overpowered.
Honestly... after what Man of Steel did, I don't mind a movie that indulges in the awesomeness of Superman a little. At the expense of every other character? No, you are 100% correct that it was a bad move but if I were to actually bother watching this movie and not just cut up scenes like in this review, I would honestly enjoy it more.
Hey remember the end scene of Batman vs Superman with all the rocks rising nearby Superman’s coffin? Yeah me neither because what the fuck was that even suppose to imply then if they acknowledge that he is very dead in this movie.
Did you not understand the line "HIS CELLS ARE UNABLE TO DECAY" .... or were you too busy checking your phone? He was technically dead, but unlike humans, his body doesn't decay, and because of that it's perfectly legit to bring him back to life. No different to cryo-sleep in a sci-fi movie mate... I'm sorry if you are too dumb to understand that.
Samur/Aye what does any of that have to do with the rocks rising? His cells are unable to decay, and he's still dead but the rocks still rise from his grave because....reasons?
+Samur/Aye Oh boy another “Your too dumb to understand” fan. So your saying he can still use his powers even though he is dead? What kind of bullshit is that. If they are gonna add some bullshit like that, just say he’s in a coma or something because it will make sense at least. Even then if he could levitate stuff, why was he treated as a normal corpse in Justice League then? There was no scene as too where any characters noticed strange shit about his body doing stuff like levitate stuff in Justice League. He was just a normal corpse but apparently he could use powers after he died recently in Batman Vs Superman? Sure okay buddy. Also Martha
even humans have our own electro-magnetic field, electrical impulses in our body is how Sharks are able to detect us even if perfectly still... Superman has a super version of that. Do you really need to be hand held through the entire movie? Maybe you prefer things like Batman Begins, where we're told THREE times within 5 minutes what will happen when the train reaches the station aye? Quite frankly I'm insulted that directors like Nolan think ALL people are that stupid to need things explain 3 times as if we are toddlers.
Even though The Avengers had the advantage of both the cube and Loki being set up in previous movies we still get more information about both in that initial scene than we do in Justice League. It's both lazy and incompetent film making and screen writing. In a 300million dollar movie.
i think what he means is that Justice Leauge is one of the most important super hero movies to ever come out, its a movie people wanted to see get made for decades sure there are worse comic book movies like Batman and Robin, Catwoman, Electra, X-men origins but none of those were justice leauge, this movie needed to be so much more than it was. this movie couldnt be allowed to be bad, medioucer or even great the first ever Justice Leauge movie needed to be amazing
Lol damn you totally hit the mark it's like you read my mind , I was completely bored the entire movie and never felt anything but utter dullness the whole movie and when it was over I instantly forgot about it and had no interest in seeing it again whereas after endgame I felt like I couldn't get enough and kept thinking about the characters and am still wondering wats next
Good analysis of the movie. I ended up watching it at home and split it between three viewings because I kept getting to bored I had to go do something else. I finished it out of morbid curiosity. There are so many problems with Justice League, but it definitely doesn't help that it has a poorly rendered and entirely uninteresting antagonist. I mean compare it to Infinity War where they took time to actually flesh out Thanos with some emotional range and backstory (in addition to using CGI good enough that Josh Brolin's acting actually comes through) so that you actually become invested in the big showdown with the heroes. They hired an amazing actor to play Steppenwolf, Ciarán Hinds, then completely wasted him. Steppenwolf was like a really boring boss in a video game that you're kind of sorry you invested so much time in.
@@loganknowsnoneofyourbusine263 since this is the first justice league, I would compare Steppenwolf to Loki instead of Thanos. With Thanos, it's not even a comparison
@Edward HARRISON [12M3] you've been under at least 4 other comments commenting this exact thing word for word. I mean, it's not a bad post but chill buddy 😌😂
Bam, you nailed one thing in this. Justice League has no reference point for any of its material. The movie could have been made minus any previous movies and it would pretty much have been the same.
how long were the 2 previous movies compared to this?JL was 90+ minutes long to be shown more times a day than the failure that brought us the Laughable Luthor jr!
J Arnett > Movies with sooo many plot holes that insults your intelligence. > Wasn't that bad. Choose one. Btw I don't understand the argument of ''it could've easily been so much better than it was''. It can be said about any movies and yes that can be even said about Justice League.
Dragon Friends: Why should they choose one. The number of plot holes has nothing to do with how good a movie is for someone. If it had, every single installment of Star Wars would be trash.
Yes the number of plot holes do matter if you're focusing on story of a Movie. You know the reason movies are good ? Story and the characters. By you logic Transformers movies are awesome. The last jedi has sooooo many plot holes that it even ruins TFA. Btw can you list some plot holes for ANH ?
It's a mix of Snyder and Whedon shot footage. A lot of the character interaction, humor scenes and the Batman opening were done by Whedon in a short amount of time, which made his style look much cheaper than usual. Even the retained Snyder footage had the brightness pumped up after the fact, which exposed all the visuals, costumes and such, making those look like junk too. It's...not a great looking movie.
I'd add another kind of movie: stupid and boring. And to me stupid combined with boring is the worst kind of movie. Because the stupidity is so insulting and not even funny because the whole (or at least majority of the) movie is boring. And to me, Justice League was stupid to the point of being funny.
I love how you claimed JL to be the worst superhero movie and you tore it apart with logical facts, calling it out for being another one in this Passible Movies epidemic. Also Gorillaz usage A+. And I loved the length of the video it never felt too long cause it was jam packed with fabulousness.
I know!!!! Like i generally started out as a marvel fan but as I got more exposed to the superhero genre I rlly started to like DC comics. WB owes their fans now some good movies where the characters are depicted right.
Avengers feel like a family, Justice League seems like random superheroes coming together. No charisma. There is a certain tragedy and grace to being a hero, a fragility, an emotionality that people can relate to. It is a beautiful, complex archetype and this movie does it no justice. Compare this movie to the brilliant sorrow filled atmosphere created by actors and screenplay in the movie "Logan" and there is no competition, that is how it is done!
I am more of an Avengers and X-men fan. I guess I just like the style of these movies better. As much as I love Deadpool, it is too comic for me personally, I like more emotionally intense characters, but I can totally appreciate what you are saying. It is like arguing about which painting is better.
Thing is, with the MCU already a cinematic success and DC falling behind schedule, I (opinion) believe DC was rushing to try and establish themselves with this film that they tried to cram everything in 90+/- minutes and that meant that the movie had to move fast without the characters plots being able to breath or showcase their full potential.
I think youre full of crap. It didnt feel rushed to me at all with them not having to dedicate a whole movie to every member of the team just to give us yet another origin story that we all already know anyway! Im extremely happy to have to not set through that yet again and be able to simply get on with the action which this movie delivers from start to finish. I think that YOU think your opinion is the opinion of the majority when in fact this movie grossed more wolrdwide than Logan did and fan boys think THAT movie was f'ing "EPIC" ! So sit down and shut the fuck up and let the rest of us enjoy it.
Jimbo-fanboy=person who is a fan of the comics/character, so thats not really an insult to me. And FYI,who do you think goes to see these movies? FANBOYS. So yeah, the majority of everyone who sees these movies know who these characters are already. Dont be an idiot.
So fanboys make the 600 millions for the movie? I dont think so. Maybe all your fanboy friends know. Its asinine to ASSUME everybody that watched the movie are fans. But fans or not isnt even the real issue. Its the fucking story thats the problem. It just sucks, plain and simple. Look, i'll be square with you and you need a little bit of self-reflection here. there r 2 types of fanboys. 1 where they can see how bad the DCEU movies r. 2 is those that will love the DCEU no matter how bad the movies are.
“Superman lets everyone else play”. is a good name as well. He could have finished SteppenWolf with a quick neck twist, but instead he throws him to the others, which causes them to get hurt in the process. All while floating above, thinking about what superpower he should use, next time the others need help.
It's pretty hard to tell a story about a team who's leader is faster than the guy whos superpower is speed and does everything better than anyone on the team
That's where Justice league: Doom did a good job, they separated Superman and made it so Batman had to save him while the others fought Darkseid and stalled. They knew they were outgunned but they fought anyways because otherwise the world was doomed. Overall though they shouldn't have put Aquaman and Cyborg in. Too many characters too sudden stretching everything out.
I think part of the issue with Justice League is that since they didn't take their time and world build like Marvel did they are having to squeeze so much into one movie. That's why we are getting so much exposition. They are telling instead of showing which is never a good idea in movies or in print.
Great video. For me, Batman V Superman is still the absolute worst, but it probably has a lot to do with my expectations. Justice League was starting from rock bottom, and as a result I watched it on autopilot and never thought about it twice. Batman V Superman still haunts me...
I liked the Batman warehouse scene and that's literally it. The rest of it is a mess for me. As this video pointed out the opening in Metropolis is great and the rest of it just doesn't live up to that in the worst way possible.
I wish they would make Superman less stiff in his emotions. Dude legit grew up a normal kid don't know why he's constipated
Ahahahahahaha exactly. Just never had the charm that Chris Reeve had.
Superman behaves so weird in my opinion. I mean, the kid grew up in the US right? He behaves like a stiff guy who doesnt know anything about basic, regular LIFE!
I don't know, I think all these years later he's still reeling in shock from when his dad literally told him to let a bunch of kids die.
Levyathyn and Jonathan Kent told Clark to let him (Jonathan; though he doesn’t speak in the death scene) die
@@zogwort1522 lol what?
It feels so wrong that Superman is able to do everything on his own like,
Flash should be faster than him, Wonder Woman an arguably better leader, and able to connect to people, Cyborg should be better with technology, Aquaman is the best when it comes to water, and no slacker in the strength department, and Batman should be more analytical and strategic, use deductive reasoning as well as having resources, although his wealth isn’t his only aspect.
Prince Charming stop crying lol
Prince Charming how did u take it as “Superman shuda been weaker” instead of “the other characters besides supes shuda been stronger in their own aspect”.
Superman is basically God. He is the strongest.
I wish Superman just had facial hair, he did in Man of Steel and I think he looked better.

@I Have Skill Aquaman was sexy, but sexy is far from enough to build a character:-D
The opening should have had Diana fighting Steppenwolf, losing badly, watching her Amazons getting destroyed which would see *her* recruit a team which had more than just brute strength, hence her need for members with a variety of skills.
That would have been a better film
I agree. That would’ve been way better than her trying to stop a group of generic British people who try to look like ISIS.
One of the greatest villains I've seen in my life was Darkseid in Superman the animated series.

Superman is hard to write for
@Kelly Deadpool has a major flaw.

Apple Daily all they have to do is make DC more light dark works for Batman but not for everyone else

When I was watching justice league I couldn’t even understand wonder women.
ON POINT
I watched Avengers without seeing any of the other movies or really knowing any of the characters and I was still able to connect and sympathize with the characters. They did a good job in establishing each character, making them all likable, and giving them all a purpose and plight. They each had their moments in the film and made satisfying contributions to the team.
I came into Justice League already being a DC fan and knowing all these characters but I couldn't care for any of them. They all felt hollow because it's like the movie itself didn't care about them. It isn't neccessary to give each character a movie before throwing them together but this movie fails at even making these characters feel like they need to be there.
They didn't introduce spiderman b4 civil war but it landed well. The introduction or standalone movie isn't the issue here
Batman was the worst part of this movie.
That stupid ass surprised face he made when Supes shows up to handle Steppenwolf was the worst part.

I feel as though Batman is almost always misrepresented when he's in movie's. Forgive me if I'm wrong because I'm not exactly what you'd call a diehard comic fan.
Actually really good

Maybe you should write, well constructed.
@Ashish Patra exactly. Literally what the OP wants already exists, just minus the Reeve's-like dialogue.
I don't get how they managed to make this film look more fake than entirely CGI films like The Incredibles.
Shows how good Pixar is doesn't it?
Treblaine cgi looks bad when its out of place. In the incredibles everything is cgi, the whole world is. In JL you can tell which part was added by computers and which part was real. One of the reasons why practical effects still have its place. Has nothing to do with whether pixar is good. Ask them to do JL’s cgi and they most likely cant
Sorry for any offence caused. I just think they still are revolutionary.
@@TheSmart-CasualGamer i agree with you, they are revolutionary, their cgi character really seems to come to life, but in a very different way compared to Avengers or JL though.

As much as I hate this movie, I disagree. He stopped the thug to make him scared enough to attract the para demon, but yeah, he should've took him in.

The main problem is that it's so rushed. Everything is thrown to the viewer's face because they had to cram everything in just 90-120 minutes.
You can thank Joss Whedon for that.

You don't have to tell me. I watched this with my dad when it was on Amazon prime video and my dad literally searched "has anyone died of boredom while watching justice league" while watching the movie. The movie was also so rushed (probably because of the 90 minute limit.)

Bruh, imagine with Barry's "batman what're your superpowers" bit, but it went like this instead
Barry: What're your superpowers, again?
Bruce: (he gives no response, but glances over at Barry in acknowledgement to his question. As the car doors gradually shut, for a split second you see a slight smirk on the older man's face.)
I highly doubt this is at all what Batman/Bruce would act like or respond to Barry asking something like that...but it would've been much better and more subtly unique instead of them tryna force in a simple joke
@Quinton Redlien at least with the Snyder Cut out, even tho the joke was still there, it fit a little bit better somehow
It never made sense to me that Wonder Woman is just as strong if not stronger than Superman yet they couldn’t do anything without him?!
Pretty sure she isnt. Ive read that shes the best fighter, but not the strongest.
Well, he is an alien while she is literally a demigod, the daughter of Zeus himself. So I would think she has the upper-hand. At the very least, she should have been shown as competent in her own right with or without Superman.

What's the justice league for if superman saves the day.
They where fighting a god they knew nothing about so of course Superman would be the only one strong enough to fight Steppenwolf.
@FtL Battusai
That... doesn't follow logic at all, especially considering how the term god doesn't mean anything by itself without feats, the gods in the DCEU would be laughed at a bench press by any real world counter parts, and the fact that they have Wonder Woman who has in the DCEU already faced down a god and who's history in the mainline comics has her facing off against gods all the time and at least holding her own.
Also, Batman should have made the plan for victory (he was not smart in the movie) and Steppenwolf had mother issues (we don't know what were the boxes and if they are named "Marta").

they just over rushed it to catch up to marvel. marvel spent time to actually give everyone a story , in multiple movies until us the viewers where basically screaming for a group movie then making that epic, because we know all the hero's intimately and even without much story we know why they are there and what they are fighting for.
@@g.waldmeister1851 excellent points.
$23 Million dollars. That’s was the reason for rushing the JL movie out. That’s the total amount of bonuses, that would have been lost by WB executives, if JL was delayed until the new year. (They couldn’t push it into December, since that month was already filled with big movies)
Coincidentally, late December was the timeframe the CGI company said it would take for a properly finished product, according to a leaked WB memo.
its not that surprising really.
Which is the Segue into this universe from the Original DC Animated Movie Universe where all of the characters had Already been established XD
Its like Guys, if you're gonna try to make a DC Universe, Actually Take Hints From your Already Crafted DC Universes, the Animated ones Are Fantastic

I never think I would be so bored seeing JUSTICE FUCKING LEAGUE
Steppenwolf was like that first villain you face that acts like the shit but deep down you know he’s just a fill in
Not exactly fair is it? Thanos has had build up for years and several movies as THE big bad- a better comparison would be to Ronan or Whiplash.

Wonder Woman was a good filme. But the first Captain America movie already made the same idea first, years ago.

Whatever.... Fanboy
bossdog, do you really think the general public knows their origin story or thats just your bitterness fanboy talking?
*30:22*
*Is that a Terminator-2 reference or are you just Crazy?..*
I read that in Rockets voice 😂
I swear, when they lost the last cube I was expecting Willy Wonka to show up saying " Don't, stop, come back."
"Justice League"... or "Superman and the Rest"?
I do enjoy playing a game of "Spot the Reshoots" while watching this video, though.
“Superman lets everyone else play”. is a good name as well. He could have finished SteppenWolf with a quick neck twist, but instead he throws him to the others, which causes them to get hurt in the process. All while floating above, thinking about what superpower he should use, next time the others need help.
Once again, I have tracked you down the comment section, across space and time...
It's pretty hard to tell a story about a team who's leader is faster than the guy whos superpower is speed and does everything better than anyone on the team
He is the best. Fuck Batman!
The flash is way faster than Superman just saying...
Marcus babineaux yes but remember we’re talking about justice league flash.
Except Barry was able to dodge a crazed Superman's punches, so he was clearly faster.
30:23 I love that some people will be watching this while utterly confused.
Meanwhile people at Marvel are laughing while showering the billions of dollars and good Rotten Tomatoes score
The virgin DCEU, the Chad MCU
You sound like a man with a well balanced opinion maybe youre right
Nah I'm a bit tasty not going to lie
Batman and Robin still is the absolute worst.
