The speedometer is broke, but that was 6th gear almost topped out. the bike is all stock my buddy just changed seats and handlebars. credits to my buddy Brody for lettin me take her for a spin
They definitely go faster than 75... mine is stock and she'll do 85 before I chicken out ... I'd guess they'll do 90 ish, perhaps more. Mine is an 81, SOHC same as in this video.

my 82 xs400j starts up fine everytime
Mine is a little out of sorts, have to kick it for like a minute then i just use the electric start, give it some throttle, and shes mint
Okay so it was a fouled plug. Replaced it and it starts first kick every time, no choke.

Had a Yamaha xs400 in 1984 it would do 110 mph easy.

Mine will do about 120kmh with a tail wind. Runs nice so dont know why. I would love some more speed
