It doesn't translate well to the video on how quick those pulls were but your reactions show us exactly how nuts they were. Love it man. Awesome work and I can't wait to see more videos on this insane build
Left a comment on your Building Sti video about wanting to get one of these but have a cupra, WELL i'm 2 weeks out from getting my hands on one of these. Just gotta say love the content, your STI is super aesthetic
Something to try if you have trouble starting it after ecu reset. Turn on key but don't start it for like 10 to 15 secs. It should immediately start after that.
i have been checking your channel every single day for the last month or so waiting for this..and i shared that enjoyment with you man..that was incredible
It still baffles me that people either fail to realize or underestimate the suction power of these turbos. No room for a filter? Put a turbo guard or something on there before the turbos suck something in there and kamikaze themselves into oblivion. With that being said cool ass build I’m impressed.
@@imSchwaggy I know that he said that in the video so he knows that he could ingest FOD in the turbo and still risked it for the biscuit. (Yes I do listen) Lucky for him nothing catastrophic happened.
Maybe you could box in both turbos just like how OEM's box in their air filters but cap it with an air filter on top of each so you're protected against dust and debris and not risking pulling in any head light wires
Where is the heart button on this ! Love it ! ❤ I could feel the energy and the happiness of your accomplishment! Very well done , you have achieved a new level in this industry! You’ve proved a lot of people that dreams and ideas come true ! Hell yeah! 🎉
Very interesting build. Although it is laggy, Im surprised at how well it is managing to spool those big turbos. Cant wait to see how it responds to the nos. Sounds great.
If you wanted to do twin-turbo setup, how come you didn't do a smaller turbo powering a bigger turbo to eliminate the insane amount of turbo lag? That way you get the good low-end spool with the high-end complementing it in the higher rpms. Kind of like a compound induction.
@@turbo8u All that money and custom fab work for something that’s neither fun nor practical to drive. This setup isn’t even remotely suited for any motorsport setting, or even just regular spirited driving. I’m genuinely confused as to what audience he’s trying to appeal to.
Congrats on completing the project to this point that was a major achievement. Now you have to work on getting the rocket anti-leg system next that would be absolutely sick on the twins.
Thanks so much! Yeah, now it's the real fun part. I love having the opportunity to be in untested waters with the ability to test multiple theories for the first time to see what works best. Super fricken cool.
It doesn't feel like 600 HP on another car. I got a rode in a car that was at 575 and it was surreal. My goal on my next build is about 500 WHP which is maybe 610BHP. They say 18% to 30% drive train loss. I think more like 19%to 20%
Love it glad it’s working. If you need any parts (Iag dual rails and 8 2600cc injectors) let me know I have a set I’m not going to use now. Not going to chase your twin setup on an EJ for the drag car we are going another route now.
Let’s take a moment and reflect on all the comments saying that the turbos wouldn’t spool. Next time when someone has a build plan with a reputable tuner. Just shut up at watch. 50 psi sounds like they spooled up perfectly fine to me.
SUCH A DIFFERENT SOUNDING CAR !! COOL BUILD AND MAD RRSPECT FOR GOING AGAINST STALE TRENDY STUFF. IVE HAD QUITE A FEW HONDAS B SERIES TACH OUT AT OR PAST 10K BUT I DEFINITELY KNEW THAT WAS ONLY FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS ..IN A SPLIT CASE BLOCK LIKE A SUBARU THATS CRAZY AF LOL IM SURE THOSE MAIN BEARINGS ARE HATING LIFE..NOT SURE WHAT ECU YOUR MOVING ONTO BUT YOU MAY WANT TO CONSIDER PUTTING A SENSOR ON THE CRANKCASE AND MEASURING +/-PRESSURES IF NOT ALREADY..MOTEC/LINK ?
i think this is cool but imo the turbos are WAY to big and would be a lot cooler if they were maybe like a g35 900 style turbo still 1800hp worth of turbos maybe even the 770s but would come on WAY sooner
Thats definitely an option! I think I'm going to play around with the new brushless pumps and see what we can do with that. Those things MOVE fuel... believe they are rated for 2,000WHP.
Those are just 4th gear logs... starting in 2nd will be much more violent haha. Nitrous will also help bring the graph to the left. Long term plans for the car are to break records, so I'll continue doing what I need to do with this setup to get there.
@bschoenborn why not switch to smaller Turbos. Some twin 6266s would probably spool exponentially quicker and have the ability to make more power that that Subaru engine can handle.
@@jdubbsvt85 these are 6266s haha. I would have gone with like twin 5858s but Precision doesn't make a reverse rotation 58. Maybe sometime in the future, I'll work on a prototype with them, but I truly believe we can get these things going with some more development.
@bschoenborn ahhh shit lol. My bad. For some reason, I thought they were much larger. Are they the next gens? I recently switched from a gen 2 precision turbo to their next gen turbo and spool was noticeably better. Either way, sounds like a slightly smaller turbo might be the way to go for you.
What is the point of the turbos hitting so late? Or better yet what is the end goal for this thing? Its sick no doubt that. Just not sure where your going with it.
Those are just 4th gear logs... starting in 2nd will be much more violent haha. Nitrous will also help. Long term plans for the car are to break records, so I'll continue doing what I need to do with this setup to get there.
Putting your foot to the floor under 3k rpm is very unhealthy for the ej25, and I highly advise you don't do that anymore. And before anybody can say I'm wrong, here is a quote I found from an STI forum. "It does two things to the motor. It massively increases the duration at which peak cylinder pressures are experienced and therefore increases the amount of forces trying to separate the head from the block and the duration for which those forces exist, and two, it increases the chances of ignition and detonation of oil and other compounds that make it into the cylinders long before the standard ignition point. Both of these are not good for the motor obviously, however, you should consider that your boost pressure is a major factor."
I never lean into it until after around 4K. The 3K datalogs are solely for data, but even then, I'm still scaling the throttle until after 4K. Trust me, I know a thing or two about these engines lol.
Why did it start up better with the single turbo map at the beginning of the video then once you flashed the other maps it’s starting having issues starting/dying? Doesn’t seem to be liking the maps
Whenever you flash a new map, it takes a drive or so for the ECU to learn it and auto correct some adjustments. Car is fine now! There were times with the last setup that it would actually do the same thing.
Awesome beast man, it's sad to not hear the subie rumble though but the turbos sound like pure sex! some smaller turbos would be more impressive in my opinion. I couldn't wait for 6k rpm, I want fun at 4k😅
There’s a clip of an Australian built Subaru by gotitrex called Betty that has a destroked motor that revs to 12k. Power band is around 6 - 12k. Here’s a link to a video from 6 years ago but a lot more development has been done since then th-cam.com/video/1UwI-Rtuc38/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kOl99DCQpDip_Riv

This!

Hitting boost at 6500 is crazy
true but i guess when the engine revs all the way to 10k rpm it doesnt as as crazy lol
10k!?! Wtf??? It revs that high!?@@ti_raph8373
sounds close to 8k
i mean, its just 2 cylinders trying to spool a 62 / side. Its gonna be laggy a little bit.
The effort is amazing. Nothing left on the table in this video. You should put one of those Mexico pulls in the intro to the video, people like that.

Well i apologize for saying it wont make boost.

Definitely needs some anti-lag to build up that boost sooner lol
Add a little rolling anti lag and itll be nastier
