I’ve noticed that this game has a strange pattern. Mostly it’s full of folks who love the game but their friends don’t. So we all need to find online posses or play solo. Anyone else see this pattern?
The only reason because friends don't want to play this game is because it can be extremely boring. Grinding all day, all days with friends can be really boring. And I'm the one who plays the game more then them. Just need to find another game, because when playing with friends you always want to have fun.
He's actually not wrong about the Daily Streakers. The day I lose my Daily Streak is the day I know I had something better to do than sit at home in my underwear playing RDR alone in the dark.
even if i have something better to do , i always manage to squeeze out a couple minutes for a daily , since there are always 1 or 2 super easy fast ones to do (like visiting some town)
Hate to admit this but, "well I asked my Sys Admit if it would be possible to play on a ps4 in the 'mens' room". Two weeks later I return from a trip to find a ps4 setting on a cart in every 'mens' room in the place? Every morning I complete the requirements for a daily streak in the 'mens' room.
I'm not really old, but I guess I count as the immersionist. I really like to get high and just ride around in RDO doing chill things and sometimes listening to music, it's weirdly relaxing. Still a really pretty game, too.
This is the only game I can be motivated playing without weed. Weed and big lobbies I'd be holed up in a store too paranoid to leave coz of griefers haha
Same ive missed only a few days since launch, mostly rockstars fault for randomly resetting or messing the game up where I couldn’t even log in. Recently the hurricane has kept me away since we barely have a city left much less internet for a while lol

I can’t play this game without helping lower level players. I’ve done everything and mastered all. I’ve made so much money and xp helping others. Im lucky because one of my posse members is “the always broke guy” and I spend all my time helping him make money so he can waste it on things he will never ever use or even appreciate or have the slightest interest in. Which ever comes first 😂
I'm a lone wolf. I just mind my own business, don't bother anyone and work all the roles. I have everything worth owning, and just passed $280,000 in the bank with just under 1100 gold.

I fall into "old drunk dude" category when it comes to my play style (roleplaying with ppl around horse life). But in my case Im actually not old, I dont drink and Im not a dude. And also I enjoy views and gallop a lot across fields, ya know, bc my real horse wont get up if I hit a tree even if I drug it

Tbh my life was kidnapped by daily challenges earlier this year till my internet had a problem for a couple of days and lost the streak. It sucked but I was like ehh I’m freeee!!! 😃
9:42 - yeah it's only happened to me twice but I did a story mission, gold gold with the fellow player I even revived them and when entering free roam they immediately shot me in the back of the head. I still am amazed by that psychotic behavior
Gold grinding, role playing, chilling, lone wolf, daily challenge junkie here. I enjoy the game very much. It's a good escape from the real world, and also reminds me of Westworld.
Everything, as in all clothing available in every possible colour? I'm close to getting all legendary animal skins (need about 5 more, plus the 3 (pronghorn?) skins yet to be released), and get some more legendary samples to complete the compendium. Got all weapons just to have maxed out their affinity/completionist sake. No idea what I'm gonna do once I complete the compendium, but to get every piece of clothing would be a bit too much for me.
@@gharretje The clothing and awards is the only thing I exclude. Right now Im working on most ability cards and my final 100% Legendary Animal The Ridgeback bear. I got all the weapon upgrades and special variants. The last animals being released tommorow are panthers. Side note I have a friend added whos 628/643 awards and has all buckles pretty crazy, and I got the first person to reach lvl 1000 added.

I got another red dead player type; the baby sitter: this kind of player helps out his/her friends who just started red dead online. (I'm like a babysitter in red dead sometimes lol)
I don't drink, so, I'm definitely the "Immersion/Role Player" type. I can't help it, at that point in American history, you really did have a lot more control over your own destiny than we have here in America now, not to mention, it was MUCH easier to make a living without a 9 to 5 job back then. It really is escapist entertainment in it's purest form to me.
Same, although I've been laying off the grinding. I've been an Anti-Griefer since the first Red Dead Redemption, after I left the clan scene that popped up in that game. It still wasn't a competitive game but it was better than RDR 2 with it's balance. No tonics, no cards, no ammo types. The only thing you got was paint it black which was just called Deadeye, and punching in melee did no damage, which meant you could all have a fun barfight, knocking each other out for 5 seconds even though you couldn't drink or buy anything. Red Dead Redemption 1's free roam was essentially make your own fun, or do the permanently spawned gang hideouts.

Lone, chill, horse lover. Mostly I do my own thing and haven’t even started a single mission; although, I did buy into the naturalist and collector roles respectively because I enjoy similar activities in my own life and I do not necessarily have to participate in missions that undermine my ethics
Another suggestion is the group of friends who dont know what is going on and are dooing nothing productive. They are mostly killing each other or their horses and are laughing about it. When they decide to do something productive it takes ages because they keep getting distracted.
Met a fantastic player today I went to valentine after grinding bounty’s to clean my weapons at the gunsmith... this one dude waves at me and of course I wave back, after I cleaned my weapons and bought my ammo i went outside to see a legendary bison pelt on my horses back that guy is amazing 👍🏼
Yes my friends always say that they will get the game but they still think it's a boring horse game and it doesn't have cars. That's why I always have a wagon ready to drive around in.
Definitely immersionist myself, though not as much as my friend who got me into the game, she's basically a textbook example of immersionist (minus the old/drunk part). Our third regular is a blend of immersionist and (not-actually)-scumbag-steve, in that he absolutely doesn't harass/grief randoms, but he loves crazy wacky weapon/card builds (and outfits) and a lot of stuff tends to blow up or catch fire when he's around. xD
I was a grinder for a long time because I did in fact have a 1000 Gold/$100000 goal but when I reached it I turned more into the roleplay type where I just chill, wait for new updates and contemplate my wealth. Oh and let me tell you, if there was a third world war it'd be between grinders and griefers

I won't say that i'm a tryhard but at least i'm a skilled player (No flexing) but i do not use any glitch or a bug like rapid fire or one arrow kills bug like others.

I'd like to see myself as the type of player to be a mix of Broke Joe, Lone Wolf, and PvPer since I never really grinded for cash and I end up spending all my cash on new clothes or PvP supplies lol, although I rarely ever play the game nowadays tbh. Despite that I've always been a avid PvP advocate even back in my RDR1 days, but with RDO I've changed my playstyle to take out the toxic aggressive players in the lobby since player bounty hunting is basically non-existant in RDO and I always wanted to be a player bounty hunter anyway, so I've turned into a bit of a peacekeeper until they ACTUALLY fix Bounty Hunter. :(
I was a grinder but after watching this video I realized i wasnt actually having much fun earning all that cash and like you said theres nothing to spend it on now i still grind but i try to give my delivery wagon away to someone else or "let" them steal it from me. Its entertaining and i try to give it to low level players who may need the cash. It is surprisingly hard to do everyone mostly runs away at speed whenever u get near them with your delivery wagon. Thank you PVPCAT for releasing me from my insane existance.
I was recently able to convince both my parents, and my brother to download red dead online. We will all play together for the first time tonight. I’ve played the game for a year or two so I’ll mostly be helping them out but hopefully it goes the way I thought it would.
I usually just vibe by myself, I'll fill up my hunting wagon for the camp, then I'll do some bounties or I'll randomly quick join a story mission with some low ranks. I don't kill anyone unless they start it. My favorite thing hide around a corner with the bolo throw them at them they fall down then I just headshot them with my double barrel. Had two players try to kill me I threw bolas at both of them then killed them
I was a DC addict. When R* forced the streaks to restart I was at well over 300 days. Thanks to Covid I had not been on business travel since Dec of 2019 so I got on daily to knock out a few challenges. When in August of 2020 we had to take my daughter to her college, an 8 hour drive with two nights spent there, I brought the PS4 in the car with us and used the hotel WIFI to get challenges done on two days (pretty much only cooking some seasoned meat or changing the camp theme). Then R* reset the challenges and... I experienced RELIEF. I stopped playing entirely until about a month ago. I no longer log in every day and pretty much only knock out challenges in order to level up the latest pass. I have more than enough gold, 725 at last check, but I would often still use it to get an outfit or weapon finish I really liked otherwise I would have had far more. I will never let myself fall into that trap again. I am convinced that being isolated in Covid land for the better part of a year really caused this to take off.

Immersionist here. Since I am in my 40s now, I do not care about PvP or competitive Gaming any longer and I have become one of these people who enjoy the Wild West! I am one of those you could quote as: "they're probably drinking coffee and smokin' big cigars!"
I'm a lasso-holic. I enjoy just tripping my posse with it or sometimes actually tying or dragging my posse but I accept my fate when someone defends. It's more fun when you and 5 others are just lassoing each other, just constant tripping. I'm a simple man with simple needs
Me and my posse are big immersionists, we all look like cowboys, we are way over the level but we insist on not having a off hand holster. And we often spend hours into the night fishing, playing poker, having duels, or collecting. Fun times
I definitely fall into the money/gold grinding category and the daily challenge addict. Currently at $120,000 and 2,000 gold bars. I don't hoard my money either - I have all my ability cards tier III, most of the garment sets, half a dozen top breed horses with the best saddles/stirrups, horse lanterns for all horses, quite a few of the ammo/health cure pamphlets, most of the clothing, all roles maxed to rank 20 - you name it, I likely have it. My friends gave me the nickname Richie for obvious reasons! On the opposite side of that I have a friend thats been playing online for a year and only has $3,500 and 17 gold bars - he doesn't really do much in the game to build up his wealth.
The dc addict is super real. I lost my job due to covid. Ive never gone this long with out a job, so I guess in some weird way, dc's gave me some sort of "feeling of purpose"....i took a break to get away from my screens for a few days to find a real sense of purpose and i feel so much better lol

The day when I lost my 199 daily streak, was the day when I felt myself very happy and FREE, I became a freeman! 😊 I even stopped playing around a week after that, because it was no reason to play anymore, so I went for vacation, visited beach, went for barbeque with my friends in the camp for few days, finally I saw again how beautiful my city is etc. 😂
I'm an immersionist for sure, but not the type you're describing, the comment that you've read is pretty much accurate, it starts in the character editor, you choose a character and everything needs to be accurate and fitting, the char, clothes, weapons, emotes, behavior, role, etc. You're part of the world and don't seem out of place, the enjoyment comes from the achievement of the accurate representation from what you are playing, you merge with the environment, and gain happiness if someone is watching you playing your role and in the opposite, Last time I've seen a guy who was playing a native american, everything was fitting, from the looks, weapons, horse and play style, I was like "fuckin' well done!" it was a pleasure to see someone playing their role seriously.

I used to be a grind junkie on console, but when I switched to PC I only save up an extra 4k for a DLC because when I was a grind junkie I’d only spend a fraction of my money which made it pointless to me

Yeah I had a month streak, got me some nice gold reserve for future passes etc, but it was kind of a relief to let it go afterwards. :D

Same, although I've been laying off the grinding. I've been an Anti-Griefer since the first Red Dead Redemption, after I left the clan scene that popped up in that game. It still wasn't a competitive game but it was better than RDR 2 with it's balance. No tonics, no cards, no ammo types. The only thing you got was paint it black which was just called Deadeye, and punching in melee did no damage, which meant you could all have a fun barfight, knocking each other out for 5 seconds even though you couldn't drink or buy anything.
Red Dead Redemption 1's free roam was essentially make your own fun, or do the permanently spawned gang hideouts.

Lone, chill, horse lover. Mostly I do my own thing and haven’t even started a single mission; although, I did buy into the naturalist and collector roles respectively because I enjoy similar activities in my own life and I do not necessarily have to participate in missions that undermine my ethics
Another suggestion is the group of friends who dont know what is going on and are dooing nothing productive. They are mostly killing each other or their horses and are laughing about it. When they decide to do something productive it takes ages because they keep getting distracted.
Met a fantastic player today I went to valentine after grinding bounty’s to clean my weapons at the gunsmith... this one dude waves at me and of course I wave back, after I cleaned my weapons and bought my ammo i went outside to see a legendary bison pelt on my horses back that guy is amazing 👍🏼
Yes my friends always say that they will get the game but they still think it's a boring horse game and it doesn't have cars. That's why I always have a wagon ready to drive around in.

Definitely immersionist myself, though not as much as my friend who got me into the game, she's basically a textbook example of immersionist (minus the old/drunk part). Our third regular is a blend of immersionist and (not-actually)-scumbag-steve, in that he absolutely doesn't harass/grief randoms, but he loves crazy wacky weapon/card builds (and outfits) and a lot of stuff tends to blow up or catch fire when he's around. xD

I was a grinder for a long time because I did in fact have a 1000 Gold/$100000 goal but when I reached it I turned more into the roleplay type where I just chill, wait for new updates and contemplate my wealth. Oh and let me tell you, if there was a third world war it'd be between grinders and griefers

I'd like to see myself as the type of player to be a mix of Broke Joe, Lone Wolf, and PvPer since I never really grinded for cash and I end up spending all my cash on new clothes or PvP supplies lol, although I rarely ever play the game nowadays tbh. Despite that I've always been a avid PvP advocate even back in my RDR1 days, but with RDO I've changed my playstyle to take out the toxic aggressive players in the lobby since player bounty hunting is basically non-existant in RDO and I always wanted to be a player bounty hunter anyway, so I've turned into a bit of a peacekeeper until they ACTUALLY fix Bounty Hunter. :(

I was a grinder but after watching this video I realized i wasnt actually having much fun earning all that cash and like you said theres nothing to spend it on now i still grind but i try to give my delivery wagon away to someone else or "let" them steal it from me. Its entertaining and i try to give it to low level players who may need the cash. It is surprisingly hard to do everyone mostly runs away at speed whenever u get near them with your delivery wagon. Thank you PVPCAT for releasing me from my insane existance.
I was recently able to convince both my parents, and my brother to download red dead online. We will all play together for the first time tonight. I’ve played the game for a year or two so I’ll mostly be helping them out but hopefully it goes the way I thought it would.

I usually just vibe by myself, I'll fill up my hunting wagon for the camp, then I'll do some bounties or I'll randomly quick join a story mission with some low ranks. I don't kill anyone unless they start it. My favorite thing hide around a corner with the bolo throw them at them they fall down then I just headshot them with my double barrel. Had two players try to kill me I threw bolas at both of them then killed them

I was a DC addict. When R* forced the streaks to restart I was at well over 300 days. Thanks to Covid I had not been on business travel since Dec of 2019 so I got on daily to knock out a few challenges. When in August of 2020 we had to take my daughter to her college, an 8 hour drive with two nights spent there, I brought the PS4 in the car with us and used the hotel WIFI to get challenges done on two days (pretty much only cooking some seasoned meat or changing the camp theme).
Then R* reset the challenges and... I experienced RELIEF. I stopped playing entirely until about a month ago. I no longer log in every day and pretty much only knock out challenges in order to level up the latest pass. I have more than enough gold, 725 at last check, but I would often still use it to get an outfit or weapon finish I really liked otherwise I would have had far more. I will never let myself fall into that trap again. I am convinced that being isolated in Covid land for the better part of a year really caused this to take off.

Immersionist here. Since I am in my 40s now, I do not care about PvP or competitive Gaming any longer and I have become one of these people who enjoy the Wild West! I am one of those you could quote as: "they're probably drinking coffee and smokin' big cigars!"

Me and my posse are big immersionists, we all look like cowboys, we are way over the level but we insist on not having a off hand holster. And we often spend hours into the night fishing, playing poker, having duels, or collecting. Fun times
I definitely fall into the money/gold grinding category and the daily challenge addict. Currently at $120,000 and 2,000 gold bars. I don't hoard my money either - I have all my ability cards tier III, most of the garment sets, half a dozen top breed horses with the best saddles/stirrups, horse lanterns for all horses, quite a few of the ammo/health cure pamphlets, most of the clothing, all roles maxed to rank 20 - you name it, I likely have it. My friends gave me the nickname Richie for obvious reasons! On the opposite side of that I have a friend thats been playing online for a year and only has $3,500 and 17 gold bars - he doesn't really do much in the game to build up his wealth.

The dc addict is super real. I lost my job due to covid. Ive never gone this long with out a job, so I guess in some weird way, dc's gave me some sort of "feeling of purpose"....i took a break to get away from my screens for a few days to find a real sense of purpose and i feel so much better lol

Hate to admit this but, "well I asked my Sys Admin if it would be possible to play on a ps4 in the 'mens' room". Two weeks later I return from a trip to find a ps4 setting on a cart in every 'mens' room in the place? Every morning I sit down to complete the requirements for a daily streak in the 'mens' room.
The day when I lost my 199 daily streak, was the day when I felt myself very happy and FREE, I became a freeman! 😊 I even stopped playing around a week after that, because it was no reason to play anymore, so I went for vacation, visited beach, went for barbeque with my friends in the camp for few days, finally I saw again how beautiful my city is etc. 😂
I'm an immersionist for sure, but not the type you're describing, the comment that you've read is pretty much accurate, it starts in the character editor, you choose a character and everything needs to be accurate and fitting, the char, clothes, weapons, emotes, behavior, role, etc. You're part of the world and don't seem out of place, the enjoyment comes from the achievement of the accurate representation from what you are playing, you merge with the environment, and gain happiness if someone is watching you playing your role and in the opposite,
Last time I've seen a guy who was playing a native american, everything was fitting, from the looks, weapons, horse and play style, I was like "fuckin' well done!" it was a pleasure to see someone playing their role seriously.
