Dynamite is super good for getting the multiple animal kills achievement by just throwing it in water. You can reset the achievement like 9 times so you can keep getting exp and gold for it
Another great tip is buying dynamite at lvl 10 from the fence and going out to the swamp and killing fish. .4 gold every time you kill 20 side by side, since they still count for the hunting challenge and you can reset endless times. In a few hours you can get 15-20 gold bars
Looks like the Nacogdoches Saddle or the Hooded Stirrups or BOTH were nerfed, they only give a combined -70% stam drain presently. Which isn't bad but a whole 15% less is still pretty substantial. I noticed the Boar Mother Hubbard special saddle gives a whopping -50% stam drain WITHOUT the stirrups, and the stirrups give -50% so combining the two is even better than what the Nacodoches was once. The biggest downside to this however is that the saddle is unlocked at rank 82.
Wish I could play consistently on PC. But missions either glitch out or I find myself getting blown to the sky or dropped from the sky out of nowhere by a dude named daddy.
Look up how to make solo lobby on PC. Its sooo easy. Basically make a notepad file, and put it in the right folder. BAM. Solo lobby. I did this and emailed the same text file to a friend, now we have a world we can both use, regardless who is on. Soooooo good. Eliminated so many glitches that were caused by hackers too
That. And it's nice to have things I haven't bought yet. When I own everything I would have no reason to earn rewards from any content anymore. I would probably stop playing without something to work towards.
Yes I agree the prices are just a tad higher than I think they should be for how much income you can make even grinding to ass off, but I do understand ya can’t just make it super easy for everyone to get and also it makes ya pick and choose your path and what you buy and appreciate them more than if it was all easy to get

For PC players: i recommend you strongly to play on solo lobbies, the start up meta file works fine (I'm playing that way and I'm having no issues, I even dont have the stable bug). That way you can enjoy the game without crashes and griefers and modders. I recommend to have a solo lobby shared with friends so you can do the matchmaking missions, I'm currently waiting for friends to join so I'm not able to do them yet. Again, thanks a lot Cat!
Bounty hunter license lets you grind for both gold and money at a reasonable pace. Getting this first means you're not slave to the daily challenges and treasure maps for your gold acquiring needs. That's why anyone would recommend bounty hunter first IF you intend on getting all the roles (and why wouldn't you?). If all you care about is cash, you go collector first.
recently got back into rdr2o from console to pc, as someone who only plays pve I can ignore a good chunk of these. Also thank you for continuing to consistently post rdr content despite the state of the game and other things.
@@Tahsin365 playing in public lobbies makes you prone to crashing, due to all the junk caused by modders (unknown error and such). I play in a private lobby, you can search ways to do it on yt (not the lobby manager). The devs really need to add official private lobbies, like in gta.
Sucks that the only money making/leveling up option in this game that let's you stay in defensive mode is the Collector role. I would love if this game had a invite only session like GTA Online. There's so much to do in both games that PvP is a waste of time.
Solo sessions would be nice i guess, but i never really saw the need for them bcs most of the time i dont really meet any other players and when i do they are mostly passive and when they are not i go for a little PVP (cuz i kinda enjoy it) for a while and then I parley or rejoin, but i guess that can be annoying for some other people
@@FinePixCZ its the hackers that bother us and ruin the experience of the game for those who play on PC. Usually other players are chill, but those hackers glitch the game and blow you into the sky constantly. That is why we want solo lobbies.

But I just use a Shire horse, because they're almost as athletic, actually jump the furthest due to size, but they're the most fearless, and Heavy controls are less twitchy. Biggest horse too. For just $120.
Strange medicine heals you for each time you deal damage from last I’ve tested it. 1 hit with a Mauser was the same health as it was with a navy or a carcano

The bow. I would suggest getting the improved bow instead. Drains less stamina, deals more damage AND is customizeable. Dont think there is a level lock on it either so if you have $214 to spare get that one instead. Saddle: I think the second bounty hunter saddle, Upland saddle, is better but it'll take some time to get and im not entirely certain that it IS better.
Starter Rdo pack must have extra cheap: Pump Shotgun Cattleman+Long barrol(aim on the head and grind challenge for extra gold) Carabine repeater and varmint for hunt Bow+ (for stealth, more hunting and max your health) (if you want to make good cash and gold take the 15 gold bar Bounty hunter license and start grinding)
The only role i like doing when i did play it is collector its peaceful n if ur like me i try to avoid ppl since u cant be in a solo session so i always have defensive on just in case im not into pvp
For me It's all about multitasking it all. Bounty Hunt + trader hunt for camp, collect a few samples, find or loot collectables and complete as many dailies as possible in the same mission. It's rare to do this, but sometime if you're very lucky you can complete all challenges (both roles and general) in only one bounty mission. Again rare, but very satisfying.
@@derekwilhelm1555 One person can do a mission, while the other does something else. Or try to find missions with a lot of spear time. Your payout will increase after every 3 min anyway, so no need to stress. Completing a few extra tasks is not difficult.
Great list, i would also want to give advice for the new or newer players. Just play however you like and enjoy the game, for example if you want to do trader first cuz you dont want to do bounty hunters or something, just go with trader even though its not the meta etc. you get me, its a game and the important thing is to have fun!

Then I bought collector, turned in about 30 Complete collections, which gave me enough do to level up a shitton, and maxed the role which gave me the gold needed for bounty hunter role. After that it’s easy, bc bounty hunter will give you a ton of gold if u play it right
Im lvl 11 as of today, im super happy i started playing the game online, i enjoy hunting a lot and in single player there is no point anymore after 380 hours, i guess im gona do what y did collector first then bounty hunter
Upgraded cattleman and good aim is all you really need and a rifle also shotgun nothing more. Just buy them all if you're getting into this game for the first time though find out what works for you don't listen to someone else they don't have your same experience. All I wanted to say.
I just started this game again on my PS5, I still have my old account but I wanted to start a new one, already level 44 I don't have painted black I see no point in it as I don't PVP and am fine not using it in missions or on NPC out and about. the only role I wanted was collector So I did some mission to get the gold up at the time it was 5 gold bars off and just worked up my money to get over 1000 to get a Fox Trotter level it to 4 then I went and got the Collector saddle and my horse never runs out. just got the mental detector so I can start getting all that stuff, One thing that annoys me is how Rockstar went and changed the item so you can't get a full set of stuff in one day anymore, I know why they did it because they want people to buy Gold if you can't get enough $ but they also went and lowered the gold you go on daily, as well as taking off the unlimited daily streak. I spend most of my time in the races I don't really do anything else apart from collecting stuff and getting killed over and over by other players, even if I do the defensive mode am still getting killed I see no point it in, BUT it is funny Weeing off griefers the other say I don't know what they were trying to do, but I would get lassoed tide up and then they pick me up to take me somewhere but I keep giving up, so they drop my body and then wait for me to come back, and do the same, and I keep doing the same, till the point they got on mic shouting at me to stop giving up so they can do what they wanted. I said back, "No I have other things to do, sorry", to which they said back, "Stop being a party pooper", I couldn't help but laugh and say back, "says the level 400 just going around griefing people", it like they want us to feel bad for them because they can't do what they wanted. they tried 2 more times before giving up and just killing me over and over saying "If you had just played alone I wouldn't be doing this" So I just went into racing did a race or two and then came back out, the good thing about that is it is a good way to change lobby,
Yeah idk why he even recommended paint it black because it’s literally terrible for pvp. All it does is teach you to become reliant on the game aiming for you. I’ve had good layers literally accuse me of cheating because they just do what 90% of players do and equip the most common basic ability cards but I experiment with different builds so they can’t one shot head shot me. Like other cards can either negate the lock if effect of dead eye entirely or simply make it irrelevant as a person can sustain a direct headshot and keep going
I prefer running Gunslinger's Choice over Eye for an Eye. Using the occasional tonic isn't enough for me to want to waste a skill slot on it. Similarly, running both Strange Medicine and Cold Blooded is overkill in most PvE situations save a few specific missions and game modes. Usually Cold Blooded on its own is enough. Usually. That's just me though, YMMV and people should use the builds that best suit their playstyle.
I'd dispute the first choice on role & dual revolvers. The main way to earn gold is still via daily challenges streak imo, so either Trader or Collector, depending on your playstyle, would be the one to boost up your bank quickly for most of your other purchases following the list. 3:57-4:20 As for dual revolvers, if you're not the weapon switching type in the middle of battle then I advise against both the Navy & LeMat revolvers because of their really slow reload. In this playstyle, the Schofields are much more versatile. Gunslinger's Choice III is also highly recommended for such usage.
I think it depends. I made much more gold with the bounty hunter than with the challenges because I didn't have the chance to play every day and continue the streak.
@westyorkshirepajero Like I said, if you're not into the switch weapon type playstyle. Plus having it auto-reload out of no where takes me out of the immersion. I like to focus on using a particular gun for all PvE combat scenarios unless the situation demands switching to more suitable weapons.
@ZachSawyer2077 Yeah sure it depends. For me I just can't bother with traveling to a bounty board & from there to a potentially far away location to capture the target. It's just too much of a hassle than doing certain daily challenges that has the convenience I need.

I played since beta, sure not a lot and I do get sidetracked a lot but I dont even have half of this stuff and I am broke. I have all the roles but with so much to do in this game I always get sidetracked and end up messing around haha. Still love the game and this vid is giving me some goals! thanks cat!
it would have been good if you would have mentioned as well if you get it for free or alternatives you only get using the ultimate edtion. like if you have it, the varmint rifle iirc is free in RDO. same with pumpaction shotgun and volcanic pistol and you also get the throughbred horse. which i think is a good one. so in those cases it would be good to know if it is worth to still get a mustang for example or if the throughbred is good enough
I do not recommend getting Mustang if you are very careful with handling your horse (don't make her trip over obstacles on purpose etc) and don't enjoy staying on your horseback during NPC shootouts. I have the elegant Black Chestnut Thoroughbred from Ultimate edition and she's so far my main horse until I find some truly brave horse who will let me trample predators :) I love getting into shootout with NPCs on horseback, and with use of consumables for replenishing horse health and sometimes take cover, this horse died just a few times (out of many successful fights). But I've bought one of Mustangs who has maximum stamina and health just to see how such horse lasts in such fights. I haven't had to use health replenishing consumables for her so far, and I very rarely have to use cover (if there are too many enemies and Mustang has most of her health bar depleted because I try to trample them all instead of shooting them) :) Also she can endure more abuse when I make her trip over obstacles. Once she even survived being hit by the side of the moving train (with just a little health core left).

basically from what im seeing is, 146k of money is, trader/bounter/moonshine, all 3 and whatever else you do, 146 times. about 146 hours just for that much money unless you bought you did the glitch. i need this much!!!!!
@@PVPCatAgreed. Collector role + interactive map is the best way ever to grind for money, meanwhile you get gold the same amount with all missions as long as you spend specific minutes on them.
RockStar has sold more than 65 million copies of this game. And no two individual's play the same way. Thus any and all "BEST'S" are only that of the individual who prefer's what they based on their playing style the best. I've been using only a 120 dollar shire, I've leveled up to 4, a Mckinley saddle which when using the menu, player, horse, saddle, show's better stats than the Upland or the Nacho. When compared to the stable stats which are bull shit. After six year's, I'm still only a level 20 in the collector and trader roles. Made over 200 bars of gold and over 150,000 in cash. Your video's are very informative, if and when one chooses to play differently than someone else. But to the N-th degree, it boil's down to the player's style of play as to which is the actual best's of any and all the various thing's.
I never use dead eye really, focus fire when I do, used paint it black like once in more than 300 hours. You don't need it, kind of a cheat and isn't needed.

@@derekwilhelm1555 One person can do a mission, while the other does something else. Or try to find missions with a lot of spear time. Your payout will increase after every 3 min anyway, so no need to stress. Completing a few extra tasks is not difficult.

Great list, i would also want to give advice for the new or newer players. Just play however you like and enjoy the game, for example if you want to do trader first cuz you dont want to do bounty hunters or something, just go with trader even though its not the meta etc. you get me, its a game and the important thing is to have fun!

@@mattssecretchannel22 all you can really do is grind it out about .15 at a time until u get enough for the first role. Then I bought collector, turned in about 30 Complete collections, which gave me enough do to level up a shitton, and maxed the role which gave me the gold needed for bounty hunter role. After that it’s easy, bc bounty hunter will give you a ton of gold if u play it right
Im lvl 11 as of today, im super happy i started playing the game online, i enjoy hunting a lot and in single player there is no point anymore after 380 hours, i guess im gona do what y did collector first then bounty hunter

Upgraded cattleman and good aim is all you really need and a rifle also shotgun nothing more. Just buy them all if you're getting into this game for the first time though find out what works for you don't listen to someone else they don't have your same experience. All I wanted to say.

I just started this game again on my PS5, I still have my old account but I wanted to start a new one,
already level 44 I don't have painted black I see no point in it as I don't PVP and am fine not using it in missions or on NPC out and about.
the only role I wanted was collector So I did some mission to get the gold up at the time it was 5 gold bars off and just worked up my money to get over 1000 to get a Fox Trotter level it to 4 then I went and got the Collector saddle and my horse never runs out. just got the mental detector so I can start getting all that stuff,
One thing that annoys me is how Rockstar went and changed the item so you can't get a full set of stuff in one day anymore, I know why they did it because they want people to buy Gold if you can't get enough $ but they also went and lowered the gold you go on daily, as well as taking off the unlimited daily streak.
I spend most of my time in the races I don't really do anything else apart from collecting stuff and getting killed over and over by other players, even if I do the defensive mode am still getting killed I see no point it in, BUT it is funny Weeing off griefers the other say I don't know what they were trying to do, but I would get lassoed tide up and then they pick me up to take me somewhere but I keep giving up, so they drop my body and then wait for me to come back, and do the same, and I keep doing the same, till the point they got on mic shouting at me to stop giving up so they can do what they wanted. I said back, "No I have other things to do, sorry", to which they said back, "Stop being a party pooper", I couldn't help but laugh and say back, "says the level 400 just going around griefing people", it like they want us to feel bad for them because they can't do what they wanted.
they tried 2 more times before giving up and just killing me over and over saying "If you had just played alone I wouldn't be doing this"
So I just went into racing did a race or two and then came back out, the good thing about that is it is a good way to change lobby,
Yeah idk why he even recommended paint it black because it’s literally terrible for pvp. All it does is teach you to become reliant on the game aiming for you. I’ve had good layers literally accuse me of cheating because they just do what 90% of players do and equip the most common basic ability cards but I experiment with different builds so they can’t one shot head shot me. Like other cards can either negate the lock if effect of dead eye entirely or simply make it irrelevant as a person can sustain a direct headshot and keep going
After 400 hours in RDO nothing is new for me there, but it's good source of information for new players.

While PiB is good in PvE I find it VERY handy when dealing with players at a distance. Headshots for days.

I prefer running Gunslinger's Choice over Eye for an Eye. Using the occasional tonic isn't enough for me to want to waste a skill slot on it. Similarly, running both Strange Medicine and Cold Blooded is overkill in most PvE situations save a few specific missions and game modes. Usually Cold Blooded on its own is enough. Usually.
That's just me though, YMMV and people should use the builds that best suit their playstyle.
Once you level enough to get slugs for the shotgun you can hunt anything you would the rolling block with a slug I believe
I just bought the dynamite arrow pamphlet, I could actually loot some off of npc bounty hunters, but I will conduct wizard activity
I use the Warmint rifle more than any other rifle in the game.
You can get the second holster for 3 gold you don't gotta wait until 25 rank
I'd dispute the first choice on role & dual revolvers.
The main way to earn gold is still via daily challenges streak imo, so either Trader or Collector, depending on your playstyle, would be the one to boost up your bank quickly for most of your other purchases following the list.
3:57-4:20 As for dual revolvers, if you're not the weapon switching type in the middle of battle then I advise against both the Navy & LeMat revolvers because of their really slow reload. In this playstyle, the Schofields are much more versatile. Gunslinger's Choice III is also highly recommended for such usage.

I think it depends. I made much more gold with the bounty hunter than with the challenges because I didn't have the chance to play every day and continue the streak.
@westyorkshirepajero Like I said, if you're not into the switch weapon type playstyle. Plus having it auto-reload out of no where takes me out of the immersion. I like to focus on using a particular gun for all PvE combat scenarios unless the situation demands switching to more suitable weapons.
@ZachSawyer2077 Yeah sure it depends. For me I just can't bother with traveling to a bounty board & from there to a potentially far away location to capture the target. It's just too much of a hassle than doing certain daily challenges that has the convenience I need.

I played since beta, sure not a lot and I do get sidetracked a lot but I dont even have half of this stuff and I am broke. I have all the roles but with so much to do in this game I always get sidetracked and end up messing around haha. Still love the game and this vid is giving me some goals! thanks cat!

I do not recommend getting Mustang if you are very careful with handling your horse (don't make her trip over obstacles on purpose etc) and don't enjoy staying on your horseback during NPC shootouts.
I have the elegant Black Chestnut Thoroughbred from Ultimate edition and she's so far my main horse until I find some truly brave horse who will let me trample predators :) I love getting into shootout with NPCs on horseback, and with use of consumables for replenishing horse health and sometimes take cover, this horse died just a few times (out of many successful fights).
But I've bought one of Mustangs who has maximum stamina and health just to see how such horse lasts in such fights. I haven't had to use health replenishing consumables for her so far, and I very rarely have to use cover (if there are too many enemies and Mustang has most of her health bar depleted because I try to trample them all instead of shooting them) :) Also she can endure more abuse when I make her trip over obstacles. Once she even survived being hit by the side of the moving train (with just a little health core left).

basically from what im seeing is, 146k of money is,
trader/bounter/moonshine, all 3 and whatever else you do, 146 times. about 146 hours just for that much money unless you bought you did the glitch. i need this much!!!!!

@@PVPCatAgreed. Collector role + interactive map is the best way ever to grind for money, meanwhile you get gold the same amount with all missions as long as you spend specific minutes on them.

RockStar has sold more than 65 million copies of this game. And no two individual's play the same way. Thus any and all "BEST'S" are only that of the individual who prefer's what they based on their playing style the best.
I've been using only a 120 dollar shire, I've leveled up to 4, a Mckinley saddle which when using the menu, player, horse, saddle, show's better stats than the Upland or the Nacho. When compared to the stable stats which are bull shit. After six year's, I'm still only a level 20 in the collector and trader roles. Made over 200 bars of gold and over 150,000 in cash.
Your video's are very informative, if and when one chooses to play differently than someone else. But to the N-th degree, it boil's down to the player's style of play as to which is the actual best's of any and all the various thing's.
I never use dead eye really, focus fire when I do, used paint it black like once in more than 300 hours. You don't need it, kind of a cheat and isn't needed.

The wilderness camp is broken. Every time I try to set it up it causes my to game to crash. I recommend not buying that.
