    Honestly, the 80/20 rule is the most important thing to remember for modding an Accord. You can chase that last 20% with a modlist a mile long (and a drained bank account), or you could just get a K-tuner and the Phearable stage 3 and be done with it. The Accord platform has natural limitations (FWD, smaller turbo) that you aren't going to be able to tune away and if you are really going to chase peak performance, you should pick a different vehicle.
    Pick up a K-tuner and Phearable map, grab some sticky tires and the upper/lower hasport engine mounts to eliminate wheel hop and you've got all you'll ever need from your Accord.
    Mine has just come out of warranty so I'll be grabbing this stuff this summer and enjoying my sleeper.

    Derek Robinson, at IMW, is THE leader in custom tuning for these engines. But if you want real gains, do what nobody else thinks to do. Ask him what parts you need to buy to get to a certain number and he will tell you. Then call up PRL and Axiom and make sure you have enough room on the credit card. :)

    Thanks for the informative videos. I wonder if you install these tunes yourself and have a warranty issue how that would work. You can do an entire rewrite with the factory tune with HP Tuners on GM vehicles and it sets the flash counter back to 0. I wonder if you unlock the tuner from the car if it can still be seen by the dealer somehow. For those of us who plan to keep their new cars for a while would be grateful to have truly factual information on this. It would be nice if you might do a video concerning that.

    I've got a 2019 Accord Sport 1.5L Manual, currently running Stage 2 w/ catted downpipe, cold air intake, and soon to be installing front-pipe: do you think I'll need after-market engine mounts if I go with Stage 3?

    • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know specifically how the Phearable Stage 3 impacts the 1.5L, but on the 2.0L it does make it very difficult to launch the car with all the torque being down low. With that said, I don't think you need engine mounts, but from what I've heard they seem to help. I'm not fond of them as they add additional vibration to the car that I don't want.

    Do you have to use 93 octane from that point forward after you install the Ktuner, just curious if 89 octane would increase chances of engine knock throwing so much air through your cylinders. Also any idea on the shortened life expectancy of what your stock turbo might be over time as its obviously engaging way more frequently than it was designed for. • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Chad, keep coming back to this video as I’m torn between Ktuner stage 2 and Phearable stage 3.

Otherwise, the "stock" Accord numbers you may be referring to was from a manual Accord- per the website.

    • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sure that the dealership will give you a hard time if they believe that your tune contributed to the failure. However, they can't void your warranty for let's say your power windows break as the tune would have nothing to do with the windows.

    • @TheLemonFactor

      I’m not sure what you’re asking?. The dyno pulls are represented in the dyno sheets shown.

    • @bhoffman8984
      @bhoffman8984 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you're asking why Chad's numbers are different from Phearable's numbers. If that's the case, they started at a different base line. Could be a difference in the actual dyno machines themselves since Phearables stock dyno numbers were higher than Chad's. I definitely don't think Phearable was being deceptive, it's just common for two different machines to produce two different sets of numbers.

  • @waveykid3974

    I wonder why your Dyno with the stage 3 is low compared what they Dyno at

    • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Legitimately it could be a number of different factors. Realistically, it’s because they’re trying to sell you their product and they benefit in showing as high a number as possible. This isn’t new to the industry - power claims from modifications are most often exaggerated.

    • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question 👍. Based on my data logs they both target similar peak boost levels, but the Stage 3 does a better job of hitting those targets. What I believe is more impactful to the difference in power gains is that the Stage 3 runs less rich in its AFR than the Stage 2.

      @@TheLemonFactor as long as the air fuel is safe👍. My local shop told me that I should do a downpipe setup before I go get a custom tune but it seems to me like you can do pretty damn good with just a factory car & getting a custom tune what do you think? This shop just said you will get more out of it if you do the downpipe they said we don't want to see you waste your money because the reflash is pretty decent. My buddy and I are both getting about 20 PSI 19.8 20.2 with our cars on stage 2.. factory was like 9-13 depending on, i dunno lol it seemed like a couple other people running the stage 3 it was up around 24 psi I'm not quite sure

    • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sure you’ll see a little more power from a less restrictive, smoother flowing down pipe, but it’s not necessary. You’ll notice the difference between Stage 2 and Phearable Stage 3 without the down pipe. 👍
