Thank you, Fabian. Although an intercooler will not directly provide any performance gains, the benefits in keeping the charged air as cool as possible prevents the loss of power. I just wish there were even bigger inter cooler upgrades than what is currently available 🙁
Awesome video! I was really pulling for the PRL HVI to come through to make additional power with the tunes, but once again you proved it does little to nothing for performance gains. This definitely solidifies my future plans of getting the Mishimoto intake just for the noise and the Phearable Stage 2 for the crazy gains! I would love to see what the catted downpipe would add. Thanks for your support! Now we have some data to support the theory that aftermarket performance air intakes on the 10th Gen Honda Accord platform are not all that the manufacturers claim them to be 🤷♂️
This is because on a forced induction engine the only thing that actually matters is boost pressure and air temps. On a naturally aspirated car there would be a more noticeable gain as na engines really solely on cylinder velocity and how unrestrictive the airflow is.

Welcome to the channel! I’m glad to hear that you’re enjoying the content. I have not specifically dyno tested the power difference between 91 and 93 octane on the Phearable Stage 3. With that said, I’m sure their is a difference, but doubt it would be significant enough for you to notice 🤷♂️. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.

Hey Chad, Out if curiosity on your previous video you stated that the Mishimoto Intake for the 2.0 Accord was better than the other manufacturer but with the New PRL HVI V2 is it any better or if not same ? Thanks
The Mishimoto and the PRL HVI v1 are very similar in performance - flip a coin. I do not think that the new PRL HVI v2 would produce an additional performance gains than the v1 - PRL doesn't even state any power claims with the v2 as they do with the v1. In addition, the new design allows the air to dump into the engine bay as the scoop is open underneath - very much like the aFe Takeda air intake that lost horsepower. My guess is that the v2 was developed more for the additional sound that you don't get from the v1.
First..let's me say thanks for doing these videos. Quick point...the PRL HVI + Pherable Stage 3 is not producing significantly greater results than Stock Box + Phearble Stage 3 and your losing some mpg in the process. I have this exact setup and have the Prl intercooler and charge pipes that I have not installed yet and deciding is it worth it. @@TheLemonFactor I hear you...if I gain approximately the same power without the intake then I don't really need it for my set up...and the stock box will get me back to better mpg in the process
Good vid sir! Maybe the brand new prl intake 2.0, i guess they call it. See if thats better than the original one you just had on for this n other vids. Then prl intercooler and downpipe are great ideas
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. It does seem that the intercooler / downpipe is a popular choice. I really wouldn't expect any difference with PRL's V2 HVI... the design is only a slight change. PRL doesn't even indicate any power gains on their website for the V2.
@@TheLemonFactor oh I didn't even look if the new intake had better/added power I just figured they would claim it did. Why even come out with a new one lol? Ok then
I agree that the Phearable Stage3 is smoother than the Ktuner stage 2. The Accord2.0t intakes all seem to be a money pit with inflated hp/tq promises. I have PRL HVI. Not impressed over drop-in K & N. E30 with JB4 Map6 before Ktuner and now Phearable Stage3 with JB4 stacked on top with E30 have impressed me. I'm sure someone will talk crap on stack, but the logs look good and Burger Motorsports has seen them all. Look at Dan Villa's accord video on TH-cam. He's solid like Chad. He uses Dragy to back up his results.
Is anybody running the Hondata here on 10thbgen Accord? Is that base map with+ 3 PSI safe? Chad what you think about + 3 psi? Think that will damage the motor overtime or anyting?
I've used Hondata in the past, but not on the Accord. I had no issues, but was also custom tuned. The +3psi Hondata map is similar to the KTuner stage 2 in that the KTuner is turning up the boost by ~3psi as well (under ideal conditions), aside from that I don't know the specifics, but would guess that they are very similar.
Chad, I just realized the Phearable stage 3 + prl hvi gives u 16 more whp (296whp) but u lose 12ft.lbs trq.(351) compared to ktuner stage 2 +prl , 280whp& 363ft.lbs trq.? I think I'd rather have a little less whp and have a lil more torque
The problem with more torque down low in the RPMs on this car is that traction becomes a serious issue. Personally, I'd rather have the additional horsepower up top in the RPMs as it will be more usable. Once you get going, you'll have the traction to take advantage of the extra horsepower. When you're doing a run, say 1/4 mile your car will be shifting keeping it higher in the RPMs throughout the run.
Video proves what we have all known. Unless you’re running a big turbo or extra boost. You should keep the stock air box, while changing the piping to something without the plastic and ribbed plastic. Air intake is also for iat’s not for much else. You need cold and hot side intercooler pipes and an intercooler to see any performance benefits. Unless you own an Audi, then for some reason the cars are way under powered from factory. You tune them on stage 1 and make 350 wheel on 25psi through the new ea888.3. My full bolt on a4 runs 4 seconds flat 0-60. Stock is 5.95
I don't think people debate the power potential. I find that they simply don't like how the JB4 works, i.e. tricking the signal going to the ECU, especially when their are other options such as the KTuner and Hondata.
Chad I knew this PRL HVI was not going to help at all. Next should be the intercooler and down pipe you’ll see a difference for sure with those 2 setups.
You send me one and I’ll test it, but with the minor change that was made for the V2, I wouldn’t expect any change. To the contrary, I wouldn’t be surprised if it lost hp with how it now dumps the air into the engine bay.
Thank you again for all your hard work you put into making your videos. I know that phearable stage 3 makes little more HP then stage 2 but you loose a lot of torque. I know I said this before but I’m still on stage 2 with a K&n air filter and my hp is up there and my torque is almost 400. Aftermarket air intakes does not work there just for sound and waste of money. Go back to oem stock and go back to stage 2 and u will see a huge difference then peaceable stage 3. Throw a K&n air filter in there In stead of the prl. Promise u will see difference!!’ Good luck on you next video hopefully doesn’t take a month again 😭
You lose the torque at lower rpms. Makes no sense having all that torque up front when all you’re going to do is wheel spin for days. Currently running stage 4 and I can say stage 3 and 4 pull so much better and are way more responsive than stage 2.
@Gabriel - agreed. In addition the Phearable Stage 3 tune is smoother and more responsive. It also (at least based on my tests) has better K.cont and K.count. Readings 👍

You lose the torque at lower rpms. Makes no sense having all that torque up front when all you’re going to do is wheel spin for days. Currently running stage 4 and I can say stage 3 and 4 pull so much better and are way more responsive than stage 2.
Thanks for your feedback 😉 👌
@Gabriel - agreed. In addition the Phearable Stage 3 tune is smoother and more responsive. It also (at least based on my tests) has better K.cont and K.count. Readings 👍
@@TheLemonFactor same here! With the horrible gas quality in California, the phearable tune has managed to keep it below .55 with WOT pulls.
👍
Thanks!
