@Volume theyre talking abt Corvus Lestrange, the blood relative of Leta Lestrange but was killed (not directly) because Corvus was crying to much or whatever. So basically Corvus (Raven) was killed by Leta (Snake since shes a Slytherin)

Honestly Ravenclaw is the most overlooked house. The only big famous Ravenclaw is Luna (not complaining about having her though), while the other houses are either heroes, villains, or stars of spinoff movies. We get nothing besides being the smart house. Our merch isn't even the right colors, and nobody gets our animal right. The official Harry Potter merch is blue and silver with a raven. WE ARE BLUE AND BRONZE WITH AN EAGLE!

One thing I've always pondered about Nagini, is what if she isn't actually that bad. But is infact affected by Voldimort's soul since she is a horcrux as well. Similar to how Harry was affected by being an unknown horcrux.
Who knows, as maledictus once turned into snake you arent able to think like human anymore. So Voldemort doesnt have to do much to get Nagini on his side im sure

I’m pretty sure the message of the fable was to do with the fact that the snake killing the Raven ended in both of them dying as the raven was no longer able to carry the snake while dead so the snake fell from a great height and died.
I was going to point that out. The snake was cursing HIMSELF for a fool, because biting the raven didn't result in the snake going free, it just resulted in them both dying
Snakes can survive falls from great heights. I think you are confusing raven and snake with the tale the scorpion and the frog
Kirk Thommesen it’s a fable, it’s not supposed to be scientifically accurate.
@@awolf9036 fables are often based on the natures of animals (as shown in the tale of the frog and the scorpion, where the scorpion does in fact doom himself to death because it was in his nature to sting the frog). Whether at the time the fable was written or not they knew that snakes could survive significant falls, I don't think Aesop really thought the snake was killing itself in that situation, especially since it would kind of muddy up the morals he was conveying, because there was already another fable with that sort of ending, and the two together would tend to convey the same message
But why did the rave pick it up in the first place ? Did he think he found the biggest worm he has ever seen ?
Actually the lesson to be learned from that fable is not from the raven but from the snake. The snake is currently being carried by the raven pretty high up, then the snake bites the raven and falls to its death. Hence why the snake “curse[s] himself for being such a fool, as to meddle with a purchase that had cost him his life.”
n.b. Purchase here means grip not acquisition.
Some versions do state very clearly that the lesson is learned from the raven (or crow in some).
The thing is that you're both right. Some of the Fable, and other stories like them, are not always clear as to what the meaning is. I'd chalk this one in as well, with an "either or both 'learned' a lesson."

I remember a lot of Korean stories(Hi I’m Korean) about a man falls for a beautiful girl but she turns out to be a snake lady and the snake lady wants to eat and kill the man and it turns out a: the man kills the snake or b: the man’s dying love for the snake lady leads him on a quest to lift the curse and they live happily ever after. She’s a korean character so I think its gonna connect somehow
Maybe Grindlwald kills Creedence, and she is so devastated she decides to become entirely snake so as not to feel human/emotional pain?

I totally think your theory could be the case based on myths surrounding Nagas in some Asian folklore (was discussing this with my sisters).
8:07 I've said it before and I'll say it again (because I've basically made it my mission in life to answer this question every time I stumble across it on the interwebs) --- Aberforth loves goats because of Arianna.
As we all know, Arianna was his Obscurial sister who he absolutely adored and who is the main point of contention between him and Albus. He was her favorite, and he could talk her down from her rages, and get her to eat when their mother couldn't. And they used to feed the goats together. That was their thing, that was the thing he did to really bond with his beloved sister.
And then Albus and his pal Grindelwald stupidly got her killed. This could have all been avoided if *Brian* over here would've just let Abs leave school and take care of her. They could've gone on raising goats together for the rest of their lives, bro and sis, but NOOOO. *Brian* had to be man of the house. *Brian* had to be special. *Brian* had to travel the world and recklessly endanger their delicate sister.
So the years go on and Aberforth hangs onto his memories of feeding the goats with Arianna. And his Patronus turns out to be a goat, and then one day, clinging to these powerful memories of feeding the goats with his sister, he decides to do something a little reckless. He decides to try to transfigure one of the goats *into* his sister. And Rita Skeeter spins it like some foul bestiality SNAFU, but it was honestly just a grieving brother trying to cope.
Like, seriously, if either of you had a pet that you bonded over and then one of you died a horrible death, and the remaining brother had the ability to turn that pet into the dead brother, you can't tell me you wouldn't get really drunk one night and try. I've got 3 siblings, I know better.

Maybe the reason the lestranges hate muggles is because of the way muggles treated Credence. I mean, he was a lost relative, abused by muggles, and they 'don't' have any reason to hate muggles? Like, maybe it comes from a place of love (for a lost member).
The Lestranges don't really do love, i think the hate is more simply from pure blood pride.
Interesting but I'd say they've hated muggles and half-blood/muggle-borns way before Credence, even going as far as inter-marrying to keep their bloodline 'pure'. They don't really seem like the loving type, they've just got that pureblood sense of superiority and that's all the reason a lot of the pureblood families need. I wouldn't put it past them to not even accept Credence into the family because he was raised by muggles and the fact that he's an obscurial.

I really like the fable because it gets at the danger behind every house.
Gryffindor's bravery can lead to brashness/foolhardiness.
Slytherin's cunning/ambition can lead to ruthlessness.
Hufflepuff's kindness can lead to emotion over reason (hence their reputation as "duffers").
Ravenclaw's intelllect can lead to tampering with forces that shouldn't be tampered with.

I think Mad-Eye Moody was also a Ravenclaw, since it would be kinda unrealistic if everyone in the Order is a Gryff (Aside from Tonks and Snape), since Flitwick wasn't an official member.
Olivander makes Voldemort’s wand and Harry’s then he loses the elder wand and then gets almost killed by voldemort. Not very lucky and definitely very involved with a Slytherin. As of trelawney she made the prophecy about H and V. And then is fired by (pink lady) not very lucky when she faces slitherin.

I feel bad for my main house. They get so little representation.....and even the maybe bad ones aren't depicted/stated in the books. Though I would argue that like air, Ravenclaw's presence was unnoticeable but necessary for the story as a whole. The most biggest reason is due to Sybil Trelawney, since it's because of her prophecy that the events of the books happens anyway.

Technically, we have Snape and the redemption for Malfoy in Cursed.
Gryffindor are the "good guys" and Slytherin are the "bad guys" and then hufflepuffs are getting light for being the underdogs since they always got put down, but that means that ravenclaws are just 'meh; theyre barely ever mentioned, EVER! and that makes me sad cos im a ravenclaw and theres no merch! if there are then theyre in the wrong colours! ;-;

As a Ravenclaw, I actually don't mind the whole constantly-getting-steamrolled-by-Slytherin thing. I completely understand why it has to happen from a narrative perspective, so no hard feelings.
No, MY reason for why Ravenclaw is totally being shafted left and right is completely different -- while the other three Houses' "things" are mostly personality traits, Ravenclaw is mostly based around an ability. Specifically intelligence, an ability that happens to be a requirement for most competent heroes and all competent villains to have.
What this ends up meaning is that even though Ravenclaw is supposed to be the House of smart people, ALL OF THE SMARTEST PEOPLE IN THE SERIES ARE IN GRYFFINDOR AND SLYTHERIN! Albus Dumbledore, Tom Riddle, Hermione Granger, Percy Weasley, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, James Potter, Lily Evans, Severus Snape, Minerva McGonagall, Peter Pettigrew...
None of the Ravenclaws we meet in the series are actual geniuses. All of the actual geniuses are major characters, and therefore must be Gryffindors or Slytherins.
What this means is that Ravenclaw's "thing," their singular defining trait, is something they're not allowed to ever live up to in practice. The House essentially has no meaning. My life, as a Ravenclaw, has no meaning.
And as with everything in the Potterverse, it gets even WORSE if you try and think it out logically. Ravenclaw is defined by intelligence, so it gets the students with above-average intelligence. Except, by definition, "students with above-average intelligence" is a minority. And then, because the other three Houses are defined by personality traits that are all fairly common and totally compatible with intelligence, they are virtually guaranteed to poach any young geniuses who happen to also be remarkably brave or remarkably ambitious or sneaky or ruthless or remarkably friendly, leaving AT ABSOLUTE BEST 10% of Hogwarts students in Ravenclaw. Probably 5% or less.
To be fair, Hufflepuff has this problem too -- most people will say that their defining trait is loyalty, and can you name even one Gryffindor other than Pettigrew who isn't loyal? But it's not AS bad because they're also the House of leftovers, so at least they have SOME people in their House.
Remus Lupin should have been a Ravenclaw 100% in my opinion. So should have been Percy.

Geek Studios yes but the houses sort you on what traits you VALUE not ones you have. Just like Pettigrew was put in Gryffindor because he VALUED bravery but was actually a coward. Or Hermione was SUPER smart but she valued bravery more than intellect

See, the problem here implies that a raven represents Ravenclaw, when in actuality, an eagle does. 'Raven' is just in the name. Gryffindor is represented by a lion, not a griffin, for example.

The Eagle does make sense because Eagles are supposed to be wise. So having such an intelligent bird as our symbol makes sense. Lions are brave, badgers are loyal, and snakes are cunning. Each one fits rather well.
@@kovanightshade well, actually ravens have been studied to be one of the more, if not the most, intelligent birds, using logic rather than instinct to make decisions for example, being able to communicate much better within its own and other species (avian or not), and being known to make live long relationships with other beings and places thus being able to always find their "way back home". They are highly intelligent, interesting and emotionally conscious birds, so having them as a the Ravenclaw house animal could have been a rather perfect fit.
This page is making me love Harry Potter. I wasn’t a geek about it but I’ve been watching all these theories and I’ll be watching the movies again this weekend!!!

Hey J, about that goat-Aberforth question, I always thought that Ariana tended to one or more goats because it kept her calm and stable being around animals (which if you look at psychological studies is actually a thing). I just always assumed that Aberforth used to help her and spent time with her that way whenever he could and that it reminds him of her. His happiest and most treasured memories are with his sister. She was the one person he loved more than anything after all. And so it would make sense that his patronus would be of the one animal that he most associates with his sister: A goat (as dumb as that sounds).
But maybe I've got it wrong... Does anyone else know? I thought there was a segment where Aberforth mentions something about his sister tending a goat but I could be wrong...

Could you make a video about Moody's magic eye ? It always bugged me that even though the invisibility cloak is a deathly hollow (or at least eternal and perfect at every point of view, unlike every other capes enchanted to with some spell), Moody can STILL see through it.

I dont really think that Moody's eye can SEE him, as in the normal sense of sight, but see him as sense his presence as the way Dumbledore demonstrates in several situations, like The Chamber of Secrets the time that Dumbledore is "(speaking to the room) help will always be given to those who ask for it" when Fudge is taking Hagred away, it is made known that it seems as though Dumbledore knows where they are and can see them, but I dont think Dumbledore SEEs them either, later in the Half Blood Prince Dumbledore says that magic leaves a sort of lingering trace, he finds an invisible chain to pull up the boat that gets them to the locket. I think that it is more of a sence rather than sight, and I think that is how Moody sees Harry through the invisibility cloak, or he knows of the cloak and who it belongs to, and the cloak has it's own magic signature distinctive from other invisibility cloaks, and he senses that specific signature and remembers that Harry is the only one with it, Moody may also be making the eye seem more cool than what it really is. But I would love to also see a video on the eye and where abouts it originated.

Your theory is nice but remember that scene when Harry is the 3 broomsticks under his invisibility and Hagrid enters with Moody ? Harry forgets the cloak and waves in their way. At this moment Moody turns around and notices him. There was plenty of strudents in here, so I think more than sensing him it is made quite clear here that Moody realy sees through the cloak. What do you think ?

I think that just goes to show the nature of Ravenclaw. They go after things they do not understand because that's who they are: they are curious hunters of what interests and intrigues them, they just want to solve these uncertainties (and things left unsolved bother them).
That's a terrible fable. The snake dies too in that situation (unless the raven wasn't that high off the ground).
All snakes can bite. Nothing in that fable says that snake was venomous and indeed, it is likely that it wasn't meant to be given the area that it was written in.
