    There's a second drain on the bottom of the Hawk's engine that would drain out some more oil.
    That's how the more than one quart guys get the extra oil in there.

    I have had my Hawk DLX for exactly one month and now have a little more than 600 miles on it. I love this bike!. I changed my oil before riding it and then again at 200 miles. My plan is to change it again at 1,000 miles and then every 1,000 miles thereafter. The oil is cheap enough and I want the bike to last. The only issue I have had thus far is the rear brake light switch is mad of plastic and it broke. I bought a new one off of Amazon for $7 I also bought the Coleman, Mad Dog seat cushion... My ass thanks me.

    Getting ready to change out mine. Bought the bike with 250 miles on it. Not sure if they did it or not already.. got some cheaper walmart motorcycle oil for now. Will probably do it a few times before the 1k mark before I use the good stuff

      Good idea changing, definitely save the more expensive oil for later !

    Rottela meets the standards for motorcycles. You can get a gallon of T4 conventional for $13, T5 blend for $18, and $22 for T6 full synthetic.

    According to the owners manual it says to not start the engine with the shipping oil. It says to replace before starting and then replace again at 500 miles after break in. That's what my 2021 owners manual says.

    • @sashiboy6899
      @sashiboy6899 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Let me get this right, the factory spends money on oil to put in the motor just to ship it????? and then wants you to dump it out? that's retarded, stop trying to read the manual in chinese

    • @SailingCorina
      @SailingCorina 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@sashiboy6899 because it's not the correct oil for the wear and tear on the engine. They are saving money by putting in a cheap oil fluid to prevent it from corrosion. The manufacturer is warning you of this in plain English. You'll also see the brake fluid and fork oil needs replaced if you do your research on dozens of TH-cam videos. Hey, but don't listen to a 35 year experienced mechanic, the manufacturer or everyone showing videos that the bikes fluids are not correct. I guess it's not worth $5 for the most important 500 miles of the bikes life.

      The owners manual also says to put x type of oil in it while the engine tells you another type lol.

      Good, I got a second qt of the same for the next oil change, so many differing opinions about something simple.... the main thing is "wet clutch approved" other than that it comes down to preference. Thanks for watching
