    Tip for easy cleanup. Take an old shower or drapery curtain. Lay it on the ground where the clippings will fall and then trim. Move it along till it's full. Fold it up and pot it in your big trash can. Grab the edge and unfold it into the trash can then reuse it.😊

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService
      @PoloFieldsLawnService  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @michellejack5740 There could be a host of things. Were your blades dull when you cut them? Did you clean the cut shrubs off when you were done? Did you spray anything on them when you were finished cutting? The main thing is it will grow out, but it doesn't matter if you have an electric trimmer. Electric and gas both work the same

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService
      @PoloFieldsLawnService  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sure, I use a hand pruner to cut back rose bushes. When you prune them, wear long sleeves and gloves. Pull off the leaves so that you can see the stems better. Cut the dead stems first. When you cut it, if it's brown on the inside, it's dead. If it's green on the inside, it's alive. Always remember to cut them at an 45° angle......NEVER STRAIGHT ACROSS. Always cut at least 1/4 to 1/2 inch above the bud and cut stems that are crossing each other. Was a quick answer, but i hope this helps, and thank you so much for watching 🙏🏾

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService

      Hello Jessica, You can use a blower on mulch as well. To make it easier so that mulch doesn't blow all over the place, use your water hose and spray your mulch with water to make the mulch heavy. After you've done that, the same technique I used to get the clippings out of the rocks is the same technique you would use to blow your clippings out of the mulch. Hope this helps 🙏🏾

    Super Instructive! Working on a garden that has lots of shaping needs, and specific trimming that will require same kind of electric hedger, as well as non-electric trimmers. This is going to be giving me confidence for the bigger shrubs, lower growing conifers, that have much need for re-shaping. Thank You!!

    Nice! Do you find it advantageous to cut the top portion of the hedges at a slight angle more so than the bottom portion to allow the sun to reach all sides, top and bottom of the hedges to allow the hedges to get the same amount of sunlight/growth to the entire plant. I guess the idea behind this method is to allow overhead sun to reach the hedge with uniformity. Kind of like a pyramid… but not as aggressively with the angles. Almost seamlessly. 👍🏾🏆

      @@clarkkent4991 This can happen if you are cutting the limbs at the bottom of the shrub into the bush. How they are trimmed in this video, the shrub will be fine.

      Thank you. This is an American Boxwood. The best place to find them is gonna be at your local nursery. Home Depot and Lowes has them, but to me, nurseries have better quality. They grow fast if you keep them fertilized. These in this video we're about 4 feet tall and 3 ft wide. Thank you, and your channel is amazing, by the way 👌🏾

      Thanks so much for your quick reply! I’m in Texas. I’m looking for some bushes that can reach atleast 6-7 feet in height to cover my tall foundation. Looking for bushes that can hold up in extreme heat but can also live through very low temps since we get that occasionally and so many of my neighbors bushes die from just 1 day in 10 degree weather 😩. Did some quick research and these look like they’ll work.
      It looks like there’s some darker bushes that are the same height in your video. Is that the same type of bush?

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService
      @PoloFieldsLawnService  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Frequentfinder These bushes will do the trick for you. Since you're in Texas, they MAY have a different variety because of your climate, but generally, boxwoods will do well in heat. They can also get up to 7 feet tall if you let them grow that high. The majority of the shrubs in this video were boxwoods besides the small tree near the door and the big round bush that I trimmed that's tucked in the corner. They will also do well in the winter months, so don't worry, y'all don't get anywhere close as cold as we do 😄

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService
      @PoloFieldsLawnService  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @jessicarichardson1502 Awww mannn. Well, don't trim it all the way down. Show him this video, feed it throughout the year, and let it grow. Depending on the shrub, you should have more new growth on it by the fall. Trim them again before we get into colder temperatures, so maybe before Halloween. I would only recommend a hard pruning if the shrub is damaged by either cold temperatures, diseases, or insects. Otherwise, let it grow. You might have to put your foot down on this one 😆 You know how us men are. We think we know EVERYTHING. If you did a better job than him, you might have to do the trimming 😆😆😆

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService
      @PoloFieldsLawnService  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @skinnyman-rv1xi The easiest way is to use a tarp or some type of old sheet that can catch the clippings. Other ways would be to move the mulch from around the shrub, trim the shrub, and then move the mulch back around the shrub. I did a short video about this...

    Terrific video. Really like the big one in the center, which you made more into a sphere. Not fond of the squared-off ones, but still better than what my landscaper did to mine...looked like a buzz-cut, you know how they cut servicemen's hair. Just laying on top and working your way in is VERY helpful; I wouldn't have thought of that. Obviously, you've done this for a while. Great video.

      I'm going to buy a hedge trimmer, now that I watched your video. The HVAC guy whined last time that he couldn't place his ladder to get to the roof because everything grew so large. I called the landscaper and she said January 30th, which is 2.5 months, but I need the HVAC guy out here this month for the winter checkup. My gosh...I'll do it myself. I just bought a Ryobi Whisper-Quiet blower, so I may as well go and get a hedge trimmer and do it myself. The trimmer will cost less than the landscaper would've charged anyway. No point in being helpless. Thanks again...great video! @@PoloFieldsLawnService
