That style of wire tying is used in aviation.
Good stuff helping a friend out with his bike!
Thanks for the help getting her ready for adventure!
Thanks Jordan can't wait to see the rest of the build take care
This bike was set up for racing at one point is a good guess based off the wired fasteners. In some racing associations, they require the safety wire on fasteners
My buddy who built the bike used to build and race YSR/NSR’s. He loves safety wire 😂
getting rid of stuffing cones on exhaust should help and crossover pipe between the two pipes seems to help too...great video Jordan.....
Those are also called torque cones that you pulled out of the pipe
Love it, great work. I always dig you working on Gordita, lawnmowers, Jess’ mom’s bike, your new one, etc. You make me miss my 2009 Sporty 1200 Custom but then I think about all of the vibrations that I’m too injured and older for. Triumph’s are smooth as butter as I’m sure you know.
I’ve been looking for a shorter kickstand for my Triumph T120 with a seat height of 790mm, and want to lower the bike by an inch after putting on Hagon rear shocks from the UK with specs of weight, etc. as they adjust for preload and the like to work for ones inside inseam, weight, luggage at times, etc. I’d of course lower the front and inch which is easy to do per TH-cam videos and may put some Progressive fork springs in front as they are rather cheap. I’m thinking next year for this as funds are tight. I can’t for the life me find a kickstand that will work, people have said one should even with an inch of lowering a bike to get a shorter kickstand if you could recommend a store or a part, that’d be great. I’ve tried Revzilla, J&P Cycles, and some others and it’s not like I know how to weld or customize things like you do, I wish I learned that from my Dad before he passed. He taught me a lot, but not how to weld although he tried, I was younger and lost patience/attention. Anyways, I digress, keep up the good work and if you have any recommendations let me know!
Have you ever used F11 for the shine? I was skeptical but it works amazingly well!!!We used to wire tie many type of bolts in the railroad in applications that were subject to a great deal of vibration.
Those anti-reversion / power / torque cones are for non baffled pipes. They help with scavenging when you don’t have a crossover tube.
Really enjoy the way your build .
Enjoyed your wife TH-cam as well.
No longer subscribed. She did convince me on the BMW .
Ive decided on the new tryumph so i can get around town and retain myself for riding again.
Have a great day .
Good video, really digging the work you're doing. Looks like you're getting better and better with each bike you work on, including the video editing.
Looking forward to this season! Keep going 🤘🏻😎🇺🇸
I'm green with mechanical skill envy.
@9:44 proud dad moment. Just look at that pose!
😂
those anti reversion inserts are supposed to remove the low range torque dip from dual pipes. . . did he notice?
Off to a good start!
Good video 👍👍
Can’t wait to watch the finish of it, love your sportster but I would put Street tires back on it but that’s just me. I ride a sportster to and I’m getting ready to change handle bars thinking bout going to mini apes 10” or 12” what do you think?? Love to here you’re advice.
Yup 👌👍😎
Good video, Jordan. That bike would be a great bobber. What year is that Sporty?
If YOU WATCHED THE VIDEO FOR MORE THAN 30 SECONDS YOU WOULD KNOW FFS 😂
Tough spot to weld, up under the bike like that.
Would of asked him why the star in circle is not point up!
you have come a long way with your skill of working on bikes.
you laughing at the kick stand cracked me up.......i did notice a padlock way low on the front, whats that for? good work on the kickstand mount sir!
He would use it for a helmet lock. thanks!
Steering lock for when I used to park it in the alley behind my work. Not going to stop someone who really wants it but it’ll make it more annoying to move.
@@Nerdariostomp69420 right on! makes perfect sense, i saw it in the video and thought, huh, wonder what that is for lol
Yo jordan lad did you keep her harley sportster
Hi Jordan.. great channel brother..
I love your work dude.. even though, if you would allow me to say, I would have drilled a hole in that plate and slipped the new dowel for the kick stand through it before welding it on and connecting the kickstand.. cos if the dowel goes right through the plate then it would be more secured with welding on both sides..
Please dont take any offence, it's just my opinion.. if it sounds stupid to you, please dismiss the idea..
Much love to you and Jess..
Oh none taken, I still consider myself a student learning to improve. Doing it that would of been very strong. Hopefully it never gives him any fits, if so I know to improve upon the my correction.
@@JordanRay you're a nice guy Jordan.. your reply to my comment was cool.. I realy do hope it doesnt give him any problems cos your welding was pretty decent on that piece.. sometimes the easiest solution to a problem "is" the right solution.. I just tend to look for the most bullet proof solution when I do stuff like that..
Hopefully one day my channel can be as successful as yours and Jess's.. any how, lotsa love brother.. and good luck with the guitar lessons.. you can do anything when you put your mind to it..
