My 1999 Sportster has 400,000 miles on the original engine. Just rebuild the CV carburetor for the first time in 25 years.Runs 200* in Florida in the summer. My first HD and probably my last. Been happy 😊 with her for 25 years. Out lasted all of my Japanese motorcycles put together. Also have had my Triumph TR-6 1965 with a magneto and bolt on hard tail for 40 years. Rode both of them to work for 20 years before I retired. Now I take day trips just to get out of the house 🏡.

Good stuff diagnosing, testing and fixing. It can help a lot of people who are afraid of doing stuff to their own bikes. Even though it's part of the bikelife. It saves you money working on your own bike(s) but, it's also a fun way to learn more about it and make you feel great if you resolve an issue it might have.

I miss working on my Sporty. My Triumph is perrrrfect and I don’t need anything done on here but I do enjoy watching what you get done here…

When I rebuilt the carb on my sportster I just changed the intake gaskets just because. The bolts are terrible to reach.

That's why it runs hot, it's too lean. Jayman...

Leaky intake manifold explains why it is running hot, more air means lean, not good.

😂 “custom” is different than custom. It’s fixing something that wasn’t broke in the first place. Like 7/8 bars on a harley!
