I was driving with a friend of mine. Probably around three or four am. We were on our way to a concert at alpine valley in Wisconsin. We stopped at a roadside diner in a barely existing town. We went in and asked if they had a motel we could crash at and finish driving the next day to make it for the concert. The weird part was, everyone, and I mean everyone was wearing denim. Not just jeans, but shirts, shorts, hats. Almost every article of clothing was denim. When we walked in, everyone turned and looked at us all at once. It was super creepy. So we ask about the motel and the lady behind the counter said, “you don’t want to stay here tonight. We don’t have visitors overnight. There’s a town down the road.” Message received. He and I left IMMEDIATELY, and drove to the next town and got a room and crashed out for the night. Woke up, didn’t think anything of it and brushed it off as weird but kind of a whatever thing. We get to the concert, start telling our friends we met up there about it and joking about it. When we left, one of our friends rode back with us, who wasn’t with us on the way up, and we decide that we’re going to prove it to him that this happened and we’re going to go back in the daylight and see what was really going on. We pass the motel we stopped at, and I said that the place was only a few more miles down the road. We drove ALL THE WAY HOME (two plus hours) and never saw the place we stopped at a few nights prior. No old building, no abandoned parking lot. Nothing. To this day it freaks me out and I’ve never experienced anything before that or since that has made me question reality or my sanity more than that experience. What made it crazier is that both of us experienced the same thing. We still bring it up every now and then, but I cannot explain it for anything. Just plain weird.

Hey guys! I went to your Cincy premiere of The Unbinding and I was the one who mentioned that the voices of the Crone sounded like a woman who was being abused or tethered down by an angry man. This story you told today makes me think that EVEN MORE. I sincerely think that she was aware that there was an abusive male presence about to attack you and did what she could to alert you and save you.

    My fun ghost story:
When I was in high school, my grandma had a stroke and was in a coma for about a week before she passed away. Around the same time my Grandpa noticed he had a voicemail from my Grandma, he didn't think anything of it at the time and didn't listen to it right away. When he went to listen to it he was thrown off because she was calling out to my grandpa and asking where he was. He couldn't remember any reason that she would have called looking for him since they were always together. When he listened again, the voicemail was dated AFTER SHE PASSED! We all listened to the voicemail, and it was sooo clearly my grandma. We spent years trying to figure out if there was some delay in the voicemail that would have the date be incorrect, but couldn't find something that made sense. This was a very formative moment for my interest in the paranormal - and how I perceive 'ghosts'

I am so happy to share this story with you guys!! Olive in a rural upstate NY town. This town sits atop of huge quartz deposits, special occurring quartz only known to occur I this region plus the presence of lots of running water and waterfalls plus a deep history makes this town rife with stories. I was staying with my husband family in this town as we looked for a place to live in this town as well. It was their large family of 7 and my husband, baby daughter and myself staying in this huge old home. On the very first night I was laying in bed, everyone was sleeping and I felt this sensation like if I didn't move, something was going to fall on me. I tried to shake it off, but it got more and more intense as time went on. I felt like if I didn't move I was going to have something big like airplane big would fall on me. So I sat up, and every direction I looked I had a sensation of something coming at me with force. In my minds eye, I could sense something big and gun metal gray and steaming hot was headed for me. I can't express the towering feeling enough of hot twisted metal heading for me. It was terrifying. I askedwhoever was there t please back away because they were scaring me and eventually it went away. The next morning we went to a museum I theme grown over and outside the museum was a huge decommissioned steam locomotive out front, and when I stood in front of that train I cried. It was a train I saw and felt the night before. I found out that there was many train accidents in town as well as a huge train derailment that happened many many years prior. Since then, we moved into our own home here in the same town and I continuously here all the weird stories from locals. Especially lights in the sky thanks for reading! Absolutely love everything you guys do!

I have a positive ghost story! First of all, I'm one of those people that saw a ghost at a young age (around 4) and that is what got me started with the paranormal, and I started ghost hunting in middle school. I have seen many, many ghosts and have some terrifying stories and suffice it to say I used to be very afraid of the dark, and could not be in a dark room alone at night. When I was 19 I was living with a group of friends in an old pre-war farm house in western kentucky. It was a creepy house and I knew the moment I stepped foot into it that it was haunted. My bedroom was in the front of the house, and the bathroom was all the way in the back, down several winding hallways and through a living room and then the kitchen. It was a long, dark walk in the middle of the night and I had to turn on every light in the house just to get to the bathroom. After about a week or two of living there, I get up in the middle night to use the bathroom and I reach for the light next to my bed and before I could touch it, it turned on by itself. I walk to the door of the bedroom, the door opens slowly, and the light in the hallway turns on. I was freaked out, but I had to pee so I started walking down the hallway and one by one every light in the house turned on as I approached it, and they would turn off behind me. This happened every night, if I got up to go to the kitchen or the bathroom every light would turn on for me when I entered a room and it would turn off behind me. Doors would open as I crossed a room. One night, I was walking through the house, and at the end of the hallway towards the back of the house I saw a man standing there, smiling at me. He looked about my age, probably 19, and was wearing a confederate soldiers uniform. I saw him so clearly that at first I thought it was one of my roommates. This was 15 years ago and I still remember his face like he was a real person that I saw yesterday. I stood there for a while staring at him, and he gave me the warmest smile and waved at me and then just turned and walked away. That was the only time I saw him, but that activity continued as long as I lived there. I've always felt that he was a southern gentlemen who knew how to treat a lady! Opening doors for me and turning on the lights at night because I was afraid of the dark 🙂 also, I had all male room mates so I was the only girl living in the house and the only person who had any experiences. My room mates said they felt like they were being watched quite often, but no one ever turned on any lights or opened any doors for them 😉
I know this is a long story for a youtube comment, so thanks to anyone that actually read it!

I love Mackinac so much. I used to go every year with my grandma until she passed. I hadn't been there since I was about 13. I went a few years ago and was incredibly overwhelmed. At first, I thought it was my memories causing sadness. As I walked the island, I realized that it was a different grief. I cried multiple times and felt so nauseous on the island. As a child I loved the ghost stories and the lore; but as an adult, walking the island, I had a greater sense of what was happening around me. A sacred space, taken by force and turned into a giant gift shop. At one point I got so overwhelmed with sadness, I looked at my fiancé and said, "we are surrounded by death, this island is a mass grave." Funny enough, we were at the mouth of skull cave on the island when I said that. I had just started practicing witchcraft around this point and had just started tuning into the subtle world around me and I hadn't felt anything like that. I still will visit and still love the lore of the island and the memories I have but I have a new reverence for the island and the spirits that live there.
Also, a few months ago (years after this trip) Expedition X did an episode here where they also called it, "a mass grave," they almost used the exact words I had said. The energy on this island is palpable to say the least.

Okay, after hearing Greg's first story I have to share my own haunted house story. This is absolutely true. I went to High School in a small Michigan (yeah Michigan, you know, home of the dogman) town. Not as small as Greg's but still a small farming community. About 14 miles Northeast of town there was this gravel road that almost no one used because there were no houses on it....except for one. This is the kind of road that is narrow, has trees overhanging it and there was a river with an old steel bridge. just past the bridge on the right was an old driveway. My friends and I used to go hang out at the river at night and smoke dope, tell stories and laugh our ass off, you know, typical teenage stuff right? Well, that drive wound it's way back about a quarter mile and at the end of the drive was an abandoned farm house. This was a classic old farmhouse with wood siding, not a bit of paint left on it and really scary looking at night. On a few occasions we would bring flashlights and go into the first floor of the house. We were too damned scared to actually go explore it so we just walked in the front door and looked around.
Fast forward a couple years and my girlfriend at the time lived sort of toward that side of town. One night we drove out there in the fall of the year and parked in the drive but near the road and under a huge old tree. So there we were just making out and enjoying each other's company when I heard a scratching noise on the roof of my '72 Chevelle. I asked my girlfriend, "What was that"? Now, being the pragmatic guy that I am I thought, oh, it must be a branch hanging down from the tree that scraped the roof in the wind. So I got out of the car and looked at the roof and there were no branches! There was nothing there that could explain the scratching sound on the roof. I quickly got back in the car and said, "Okay, it's time to go!" I fired up the car and sped out of there and to this day I have no explanation for the scratching noise on the roof.

Excellent episode guys! Haunted lamp at the end.... classic! I have a story that I'll try to sum up because it takes place over many, many months:
I was a classic haunted teenage girl with poltergeist activity in my room, it's a whole thing. I got my brain scanned for epilepsy because I would have seizures, but I wasn't sick, and my mom even got a priest involved at one point. I used to hear tapping and moving, heavy stuff moving when noone was looking, sensations on my body like touching and pinching and I even got the sensation that someone punched me in the guts once... A whole debacle. I'm not sure that these things tie in to the story but I have a feeling they do as I will connect in the end. At the SAME TIME my younger sister was having dark shadows in her room at night that would scare her to death.
Me(14) and my sisters(13,11)(three sisters, very witchy) and our cousin would do homemade Ouija when our moms hung out (our moms where witches from former Yugoslavia and both worked as those scammy telephone mediums and would highly encourage this type of play). We had some recurring characters during our sessions with two young women being the most common. One of those seemed highly distressed, I don't remember exactly what she told us but basically she died in the apartment and was stuck there. My haunting is at this time gradually getting worse and more physical. I had a night where I woke up at 3AM with a ribbon from a nightgown tied in a perfect tie around my neck, the nightlight above my bed was bent upwards (it was a reading light and used to point down) and someone had tucked my whole body under the sheets and laid the sheet flat, my arms where above the sheet straight down and I was so tightly tucked I was a little stuck- you get the picture. Of course I freaked the fuck out and cried and ran out... After this my mom started doing cleansings and stuff got much, much worse fast. I lived in a broken home and my parents where both alcoholics, they would argue all of the time and I think the ghost stuff put further strain on it all. Me and my sisters had our separate rooms and our doors all opened into a semi open plan dining room-corridor-hallway kinda space. I don't know why but one night our parents where out drinking and all of us three sisters opened the doors from our bedrooms at the same time, like, same-same time. We got kinda spooked and asked each other confusedly why the other was awake and up. None of us knew why we where up, we just kinda got up at the same time. None of us needed to go pee or anything. So since we had peace and our parents had taken their drunken shenanigans out on the town we decided to have a lil midnight tea-and-sandwich session. We really liked the calm of being home alone. I was sitting with my back to my room and my sisters where sitting in front of me, with full view of my room. All of a sudden they both stiffen and stare at my room. I of course asked what happened and looked back, didn't see anything... My middle sister, the other haunted one, told me she saw a lady duck her head out of my room and then back in. I said wtf you mean?! She said the lady had long, reddish brown hair, a white blouse and a silver locket in a long chain. I decided that it was better if I take it seriously than not an be wrong so I, being the oldest and a stupid teen, grab the bread knife and am ready to kill an intruder. I find nothing in my room, nothing more happens that night and we go to bed rattled. The next day we described this scene to our mother, the witch, as we always do and talk about what it could mean. A week or so go by and my sisters haunting intensifies, instead of only shadows she now sees this lady coming closer to the bed every night. Our mom tries to console her through it and encourage communication. It culminates for my sister when the lady one night is so close, right over her bed, she is able to see that the locket is a silver heart and she reads the name(Let's go with Sarah). She tells mother this.
Except for being a witch my mom was a smoker and a gossiper, which of course she went to the neighbors to gossip. On the top of our apartment building there lived an older lady, let's call her Joanne, who used to hang out and gossip with my mom. So, my mom tells her this story and this lady, Joanne, becomes shocked. She knows who Sarah is. Back when she was working at social services, she had fixed Sarah an apartment, our apartment, and given her that necklace. She had got her that because Sarah was very, very sad and broken. She had escaped her abusive boyfriend who had been beating her, but had a hard time adjusting. Sarah had killed herself in that apartment.
I believe the haunting I was feeling was the energy of Sarah's memory/spirit of that abusive boyfriend, with the punch in the gut and how physical it was.
Pretty spooky. Can't wait for the mailbag for this one!

That last story gave me serious chills.
I don't have any real ghost stories, per se. I did see a shadow figure leap an electric fence that was waist high on an adult man in my back pasture once when I was younger and we had horses. My mother has one of when my father would drive her to work when they were first married and she'd pass by an old house and see a woman in one of the upper story windows. She said she looked like she was dressed in clothes from like the 30s or 40s and just stood there staring.

Aw, damn- I should learn never to leave a comment on a video before I've watched the whole thing. Your story about being saved by The Crone was absolutely riveting, and I am so glad you both survived that bizarre situation! Thanks be to the powers of the unseen world, and the beings who occasionally intervene for our protection! I couldn't just leave my silly mini-memoir about exploring abandoned buildings without mentioning how happy I am that you both escaped from whatever those demented people were attempting to do to you! It is wonderful that the spirits attached to the objects you have taken under your wings are willing and able to look out for you from time to time.
    Blessings and best wishes, --N

I worked alone upstairs for ten years in a haunted building in Florida. After mostly subtle activity I asked aloud one day for something more significant to happen that would prove there was a spirit. I went back to setting up my etching job, forgetting I had asked. I got up
to get the mask (stencil of the
design) from our dryer unit a
few feet away on the counter
behind me. Then headed back to my desk, stopping in my tracks because my pen that I had just used to mark dimensions on the plaque to be etched was standing upright on end on the desk. At first I thought someone was screwing with me, so I ran around making sure no one was there. Then I wished someone had been there with me to share such a fantastic moment. Then I realized that in time I would likely forget or think I had imagined it. So I snapped a photo, knowing it didn’t prove anything to anyone else. But I hoped it would help me remember the magic of the moment. I thanked the spirit but had to finish my work, so took the pen. After the job was done I tried to stand that pen myself. Took 3 tries to make it stand because the work desk was battered and marred with globs of dried paint. I’ve told this story on the ghost story segment of our TH-cam show Myth or Mystery Live.

Ghost(?) story time! Back in the 80s, my mom and dad were in college and my mom lived in the dorms on campus, while my dad lived at home with his parents. My dad was driving home at about 2am when his car broke down on the freeway about a mile from his exit. Mind you, this was in San Diego and he broke down in the middle of military base so there were no exits/lights, etc.
This was obviously before cell phones and there were no call boxes around, so my dad had no choice to start walking down the side of the freeway towards his parents' exit. About halfway there, my dad saw his first car - which was slowing down behind him with the brights blinding him. He thought it was a cop car (because he couldn't see from the headlights) and was panicked that he was about to get a ticket for walking along the freeway or something. So he stops walking and the car comes to a stop on the shoulder as well.
As my dad's eyes begin to adjust a bit, the car door opens and this tall, lanky man gets out wearing - I shit you not - a long cape and a top hat. It was about this time that my dad released it was not a cop car, but a hearse. Fight or flight kicking in, my dad instantly turns around and starts *sprinting* for his exit. Luckily there was a small business park right before the exit that he was able to hop into to get off the freeway a bit early. As he runs into the business park, the man gets back in the hearse AND STARTS CHASING HIM.
For over an hour, they played cat and mouse through the business park, with my dad advancing through the buildings as quickly as he can to his parents' street which was luckily the first one on the other side.
He finally gets to his street and races up to his house. When he gets inside the door, he's sobbing so my grandpa comes out from his room and asks him what the hell is going on. My dad tells him, so my grandpa proceeds to sit at the front door with a rifle for the rest of the night. For about an hour after my dad got home, they heard the hearse circling the area (including his street) looking for my dad.
It was the 80s, so for some reason they never called the cops or took any further action. But to this day, my very cool and collected dad will have trouble telling the story and not want to be around hearses. Humans really are WAY scarier than the paranormal. 😳

Your exploits remind me fondly of my own high-school days, in which my set of misfit friends and I used to go on pilgrimages to the abandoned houses and resorts up in the hills around the tiny towns in which I/we grew up. Honestly, everything you described had its corresponding parallel in my own youth. What FUN we used to have, traipsing about in dangerously dilapidated structures in the dead of night! A dear friend of mine even once found part of a human skull in a ravine near a spooky pioneer-era family graveyard that we found in the forest... (The skull was modern, though, not from the graveyard... which was much creepier- we submitted it to the local sheriff's office, but we never learned to whom it had belonged.)
Anyway, old habits die hard, and a couple of years ago I found myself skulking about in a cemetery with one of my old friends from back in the day, and we heard the most UNEARTHLY scream I've ever encountered in my life. It was like nothing I've ever heard from man or beast, either in person or in recorded media. We still don't know what voiced the scream, but it was long, piercingly loud, and absolutely spine-chilling. We left the cemetery shortly thereafter.
Apologies for oversharing- I know this probably isn't interesting, coming from a complete stranger on the internet, but I couldn't resist commenting because your stories struck so many chords with me due to my own ghostly proclivities during adolescence. I'm sure that people tell you their tales of spooky places and ghostly goings-on all the time, so now I rather want to delete my comment... however, I shall let it stand, because I like the fact that kids all over the world enjoy exploring creepy places, and I like the fact that weird kids grow up to be weird adults, and I'm glad there are more than a few of us out in the world.
Love your podcast as always, and I wish you all the best. --Naomi

I grew up in a haunted house, but nothing too crazy really happened to me. I would just hear foootsteps down the hallway, or creaking in the same way that'd happen when you stepped in a certain place. I also always had the feeling of being watched. My mom would hear a radio or people talking at night. There were some rooms and areas that would have a really dark, negative vibe or energy to them. The craziest thing while we lived there was my sister and her friend saw hatman leaning over the bed one morning. When we were moving out, my dad (who does not believe in ghosts) said that in one of the rooms in the basement that had already been emptied, he and a few other guys that were helping hear someone in that empty room throwing things around. After we moved out there were some construction workers doing some renovations and one of them saw a headless man in the basement.

This theory about the paranormal being in our minds is so interesting to me because of some Ouija board experiences I’ve had by myself and with others. I know people say that Ouija boards don’t work and blah blah but I beg to differ. I’ve experienced some sh*t that I don’t want to open myself up to again.

Oh, I love ghost stories. And I really like to hear positive stories, not just the 'it's a demon' bs. 😊
I have a lot of ghost stories, but I'm thinking a lot about a particular one that happened in London. A friend of mine and I stayed in a Hotel that was a former military Building at Hyde Park near Lancaster Gate. We had a room at the End of a Corridor with just one Room beside us where nobody stayed at this time. At one evening, I was alone in the Room (my friend was at the theater) and I heard three loud knocks at the door, so I thought she must have forgotten something, I opened the door an there was nothing. Half an hour later, it happened again. 3 loud knocks on the door. It wasn't the floor or anything, it was clearly the door. And again, an hour later. 3 loud knocks and nobody was there. I tried to recreate it, I couldn't find any other explanation. Eventually my friend came back late at night, I didn't said anything to her because she was totally scared of anything paranormal and we just went to bed. In the middle if the night, we heard it again. Loud knocks, we both woke up because of them and suddenly the door opened by itself. Really really slowly. At first we thought it could be wind (even if it would be highly unusual because it moved so slowly and there was absolutely no wind), but than the door closed again by itself, really really slowly. I spend the rest of the night trying to calm down my hysteric best friend 😂. I've always tried to find anything about this hotel, any ghost stories, but to this day, I couldn't find any information on it.

The Gatekeeper and Buckholm Tower, Scotland (True Story)
I used to work for the local authority in the Scottish Borders and one day was in the mailing room and befriended another worker who I later discovered is a practicing hedge witch. This friendship grew over time and one day she invited me back to her home for lunch. She told me that her home was built on the edge of an old nun convent and sadly lots of children had reportedly died there due to abuse and neglect.
We got talking about spirits and her being a witch (I’m one myself now) and she told me about an interesting place called Buckholm Tower.
We could just about see Buckholm Tower from her home and she told me of the history of the place and how at the time an old man was living there alone and was locally known as the Gatekeeper.
We used to go to her place and she’d tell me the stories she had heard over the years including the one of the children who died where her house now sits. She asked if i wanted to try a seance and not really knowing what it was i agreed. We went down to the basement of her home and in the darkness she told me to take one of her hands and put my other hand open palmed out as if to hold someone else's hand. Whilst standing there she said a few words which I can’t remember and after it went silent I felt a small grip on my hand!!! It was a small hand clasping on to my hand and I freaked out telling her someone just grabbed my hand and she wasn’t surprised.! I left soon after, puzzling over what just happened and that was the end of it, so I thought.
The next week I was working at an office talking to a colleague at her desk when I noticed a small boy standing to my left at the edge of her desk! Surprised, I asked her why there is a boy here and she was shocked and asked what boy, i looked back to where the boy was and he had gone! I said again I'm sure I saw a boy standing right next to me and she thought I was going mad. It didn’t end there…… a few days later I was at home in my kitchen cleaning the dishes and I noticed something to my left again and looked up to see the same young boy walking slowly across my kitchen for a few steps then he disappeared as he reached my back door!
After this a lot of weird things happened in my home from my rattling in my kitchen to which my dog was growling at something in the dark, to being woken from a woman screaming in my ear and waking to seeing my bed room filled with bright white rods of light that shot down diagonally from left to right into the floor and disappeared! The rod experience happened at 12.54pm and without knowing my Auntie, a medium (I didn't know this until years later) had passed away in her London home at the exact same time that night.
This lead to the next big event, whilst at work in my fine suit and smart shoes i decided to go for a walk at lunch time in Galashiels and for some unknown reason i felt like i had to walk to Buckholm Tower, i didn’t feel in control as i’d would never have tried to walk there unless i was properly dressed for it. So in my suit and smart shoes I walked up the moor, crossed a water filled ditch clambered over farming fences, including getting a small shock off an eclectic fence and before I knew it I climbed another fence and was in the grounds of Buckholm Tower. What happened next was scary but at the same time in the moment was fine. As I walked towards the buildings to find the site of the tower I noticed a man was sitting outside whittling wood mending a wooden chair. He carried on until I got nearer to him, calmly walking through his land, he raised his head and looked at me and smiled and said “i have been expecting you, the tower is just around there” This was the Gatekeeper! There is no way he knew I was coming. I hadn't told anyone, not even the hedge witch that I planned on going there as I never planned on going there!! I feel looking back like I was not in control and being led to the site.
As I walked around the corner of the Gatekeepers house I came across the remains of the tower and the dungeon. I walked down into the dungeon, it was pitch black and felt really oppressive like I had something heavy pushing me down into the floor. I looked around and there were the two meat hooks still in the dungeon ceiling hanging there! I don’t know if these were the same hooks the two people were hung from! Whilst there I saw a massive flash of white light, similar to the full beams of a car's head lights, it flashed really brightly and disappeared as quick. I had no idea what it was but I was just engulfed in the brilliant white light! There were no windows or roads nearby so I know it had to have originated from within the dungeons itself! I'm sure it came from the back left corner.
Coming to the end of this saga, after the tower visit I got off the bus and started to walk across the supermarket car park and noticed that all the dogs around me (a few in cars and one tied up outside the store) were all howling together at once , at me! All were looking and howling towards me like I had scared or upset them. When I got home I messaged my hedge witch friend and told her everything that had happened and she said she would get me a cleansing done by a white witch that she knew. The witch came to my home and cleansed my entire home and then all the high strangeness ended! She later came back to do a tarot reading and almost everything the cards predicted has happened including me starting a business that would be global helping wildlife!
I’d be more than happy to tell of my other experiences too but there isn't enough room in the comments for them all, they cover big public UFO sightings, red eyes at the window, something running down the stairs but nothing there and many more!

Not necessarily a ghost story but just a weird experience. I attended a group psychic reading around Halloween time a couple of years ago. I had attended a couple of sessions before but never had the psychic pick me for a reading but within this group session it was promised everyone would get a reading. I was only really doing this as it was around halloween time so I was just getting into the mood of spooky season.
I didn’t really believe in any of the readings and not sure if I believe now but my experience was pretty strange.
Before the psychic began they explained that around Halloween time the vale is thin between the spirit world and our world so it’s a lot more common for spirits to come through. They further explained that it is also a lot more common for mischievous entities to come through as well so they placed a protective circle for us all to be safe .Again , I did not really believe this as it seemed like generic psychic statement.
Anyways we continued with a group meditation session where essentially we all tried to work our way to a meditative / trans like state. The psychic guided us through this and asked us to visualise a spirit animal and think of a setting. At this point I’m pretty relaxed and a fully engaged with the session and the first animal that pops into my head is a little desert fox. The first setting I think of is a green field that looks out on to a lake with a little bench in front. My instinct is to go and sit on the bench so I do. I now hear the psychic ask to visualise the person you want to talk to. My first thought was my deceased grandfather. I get this feeling that there is someone behind me and initially they talk in the voice of my grandfather. I first I thought it was him but for some reason I couldn’t turn around to look at him. I then get this overwhelming urge that this wasn’t my grandfather so I ask ‘ who are you?‘ the voice completely changed and it said my grandfathers name. I said ‘ I don’t believe you ‘ and it started laughing. It felt like this thing was joking at my expense .It then comes from behind me and sits on the bench next to me. I was shocked to find that a little goblin that the only way I could describe as the goblins from Harry Potter was sat next to me. I basically said ‘you’re not good are you ?’ It replies with something stupid like ‘ I am what I am ‘. I basically told it to ‘f**k off and that I’m not scared of it’. I wasn’t scared of it but I definitely didn’t want to be around it. Anyway it basically starts laughing and then I feel extremely dizzy making me feel sick. It felt like my head was spinning and as it spun faster and faster this thing kept laughing louder and louder.
This continued for what felt like while and then I heard the psychic say time to start coming back. It felt like I essentially just woke up from a dream and was back in the room . The feeling of being sick slowly started fading away
Anyways the psychic then starts going round one by one giving everyone a small reading. She then gets to me and she looks at me in puzzlement . And she explains I see a man behind you so I assumed my grandfather. She explains for some reason he’s mentioning Harry Potter.
I got the chills. Id like to state I’m not a big believer is psychics but if there was something there with me it wasn’t my grandfather , it was this thing gaslighting me by mentioning Harry Potter. I don’t even like Harry Potter and there is no reason why my grandfather would have mentioned that. It was either this thing was in my head and knew that’s how I perceived it , as a little creature from Harry Potter and is trying to make sound like I’m going mad or it was just a major coincidence. Either way I sound like a mad man and this little thing has got what it wanted. F**k you goblin if you’re reading this !!!

This was a great lead up to fall and spooky season. I have definitely had experiences myself that felt like a being I couldn't see but either felt or heard had helped me out. Several times it was as simple as hearing my name whispered in my ear and feeling the air with it, and waking up just in time to not run late for school or work. But honestly the whole neighborhood I grew up in felt haunted and every kid I knew who lived or visited friends there had stories.

Dana, I have had some experiences you may find interesting. First, I live in Southern Maryland and more specifically St Mary's County. Home to Old St Mary's City and Moll Dyre also known as the Dyre witch. As well as Point Lookout Lighthouse which was used first at a hospital for union soldiers then as a prison for confederate soldiers, the lighthouse is also reported to be haunted by the daughter of a former lighthouse keeper. Needless to say, the area oozes with history.
So on to my story. I used to live on a little peninsula not far from several of these historical sites. There is a small campground that used to be owned by the catholic church with several buildings right on the beach. The location changed hands over the years and now it's a popular but also still somewhat secret enough location that the tiny town doesn't get overwhelmed with tourists in the warmer months. The small store that I worked at for a number of years always did better in the summer for beach goers and campers. I was the only employee beside the owner, and my job was to open and make breakfast sandwiches, coffee and prep everything for lunch, run registers and do lotto typical convenience store stuff. This would have me by myself most morning before sunrise. The store was an old flat top concrete building so and when it rained the roof leaked in places, parts of the drop ceiling had come down and you can see that the mechanism for a for a garage door was still in the rafters.
So, it's an old building and I would occasionally hear knocks coming from somewhere in the building. I always just figured it was an old vent knocking on something and would go back to whatever task I was doing and eventually forget it until it would do it again but didn't pay too much attention to it, and that would be my life for a while, waking up and going to work before the sun rise and be off at the latest 2pm, and have the rest of my day to do whatever.
One of these days the store was open, but I was by myself for a period of time between breakfast and lunch rush, when I smelled what could only be described as working man sent, like BO but like faint enough that I couldn't tell where it was coming from. So, I sniffed every piece of fabric that I could find. Dirty aprons my boss's sweater a random lost sweatshirt nothing matched the smell, sweaty working man, I thought it was weird but moved on to finish was a was doing.
Another day I had been refilling the sugar in the back when I heard the knocking sound. As I had my head down looking into the bucket of sugar I hear two distinct knocks right by my head. I look up and there are shelves which extra kitchen supplies but right behind it is a door not on any hinges or anything just an old wooden door, nothing fancy, plain smooth and sounded hollow, when I accidentally bushed against it looking for what made the knocking sound. Thinking it was a mouse or a rat. But I found nothing. So, I put it out of my mind and went back to work.
It wasn't until one of the locals was telling me the history of the building that I put 2 and 2 together. The building used to be just a tiny garage with an even tinier office, and when the prior owner would go into the office he would knock twice on the door as to make sure that he wasn't going to hit anyone with the door when he opened it. I was floored and told her about the knocks and phantom BO and she just smiled.
The building has since sold, and I no longer work there. I know the new owners were doing renovations on the roof. I don't know if the haunted door is still there since I haven't been back there in about 7 years.
That is just one of many stories. Hope you enjoy.

I had to laugh at your description of the Scion XB: I still drive a 2012 XB and I love it -- I've always said it's like a Tardis with infinite space inside.

As a person who has had temporary sensory loss and recovered it, I cannot imagine not having a sense and then not being IMMEDIATELY struck by the sudden realization of that sense being active. I'd be too overwhelmed by the sheer fact that my sense was working to note that I smelled something unpleasant.
Also, the DR-60 has some MAJOR self-noise and shielding issues that render it totally unreliable and taints any real evidence. Calling it the holy grail of field recording is wild.

I wonder how many guardian angels Greg had that had to take mental health leaves? 😂

The Cornfield Boys sounds like an old timey bluegrass band. "Now introducing , The Cornfield Boys!" (Banjo playing)
