Wonderful episode. My late husband knew Tarot, and he was an intuitive reader of the card. I have his original 1971 deck RWS deck never opened and three more decks. Dana gave me the nudge to use Tarot as my life goes forward. ❤

Thus, before each reading, the following ritual may be performed to invoke angelic assistance: - Close eyes and envision an angel in front of you made of light; - Inhale and inflame the angel with brighter light, hold breath; - Exhale and intone the name HRU ("HE-RU"), seeing the angel vibrate with the intoning; - Repeat this up to ten times; - Finally, say a heartfelt prayer along the lines of "Lay thy hand upon this deck, so I may be aware of things both True and unknown." My first deck was given to me by the shop owner of a downtown new age store. When she found out it was my first she blessed it, wrote me a few notes on a piece of paper and stuck it in the box but refused to take money for it. She didnt explain why. Just said it was a gift. She wasnt the nicest or most friendly lady ever but I loved her store as a teenager and I was so excited she did something like that for me (a kid who normally would go in and buy low ticket items like incense and crystal costume jewelry) I didnt know that it was a tradition at the time. I still have the deck and her paper almost 20 years later. In fact for a long while I forgot about it ( I found others that were from artists i liked etc) I only went looking for it because I found an old wallet with Strength & Burden/ 10 of wands stuck in it. I had forgotten that I had carried them with me for nearly 5 years when I took care of my terminally ill father. I found the rest of the deck and I reunited them with it. Im not great at interpreting but I still find this visceral visual practice helpful for reflection.
What you are doing is so unbelievably important. I am so grateful to you all. I don’t know if I would be able to handle my life right now if it weren’t for the things you discuss and elaborate on.

So happy that you guys are back! It’s funny, I’m an old witch, and one who has worked with Tarot for a LONG time, but somehow, I never heard the superstition about decks need to be given. Personally, I would never want a deck used by anyone else. I always want to cleanse and infuse the deck with my energy and connect them to my guides. Anyway, love you all, so glad that you’re back.

I myself have been reading Tarot for 36 years, including approximately 20 years as a professional, and I still learned a substantial amount from what you had to say. Dana, I salute you as a deeply sincere and knowledgeable Tarot practitioner, and as a sister in spirit. My one suggestion, if it might be of interest to anybody, is that when performing a reading with a traditional spread, should your querant wish to obtain further information about any part of the reading, you may perform an additional one-to-three card reading ABOUT any portion of the first spread, thereby sort of "zooming in" on whichever part of the person's life/question may be desired. I think this is essentially akin to the "modular" approach that you described, but what the hell- I felt like giving my two cents. Blessings to the four of you, in all that you do! Sincerely, Naomi

My deck does the exact same thing with the Devil from the very beginning and it is 100% what led me to Hellier! It started my initiation and synchronicities months before Hellier came into my life in 2018. I was a few years out of Christianity but missing spirituality in my life and feeling lost. A new friend of mine who grew up pagan was opening my eyes to gods/sabbats/tarot. She gifted me this deck brand new and out of the box it was a firecracker. I sat down for the first time nervous and tried to connect with and quiet the voice of my mother in the back of my mind that tarot was the Devil. I shuffled and a card immediately flew out of the deck. Behold, the devil! I was shocked and a little freaked out but allowed myself to sit with it and listen. I drew it every single time for about two weeks straight and it became comical and comforting. It was telling me that even though I physically left my religion, I was still limiting myself by those teachings and afraid to explore. Taught me that spiritually was very real when you believe it no matter what the doctrine or definition is. That I could connect that way just as powerfully if not more connecting to myself and spirit instead of through the church and Christian god. It led me to actually research and work a little bit with Pan. About a few months later I accidentally came across Hellier on TH-cam on a 10 hour road trip and I was hooked. Watched the whole thing on the way there and back. Even had my first Pan vision out of nowhere in a bathroom of a movie theater that trip. When you drew that devil card in season 1 I got chills and knew this was something important. By the end of season 2 I was invigorated and excited about where it ended up feeling like Pan lead me specifically. I watch Hellier once a year since then. This deck still does this. Most of the time when it falls out of the deck, or somehow is the only flipped card in my deck, I know whatever comes next is a very important message. This episode was special one and reminded me to keep listening, get back into practice,and keep leaning into the esoteric enlightenment. Thank you guys!

Synchronicity generator is such a good term. Simple, short, to the point, then sums up the imagery and how it relates to the question or guest. That's pretty much how it began in the first place. I can't remember what it's called now, but there was an ancient word used for the act of going into the marketplace to observe things and conversations as a form of divination.
Those cards you drew were perfect for the time we're living in. With A.I. and countries becoming so dangerous to each other and the whole planet, that devil jumped out of the deck, and appeared again, like it was saying; "this ain't no joke!" The first two cards told us how to keep the third card in check. Btw, I think A.I. will be fine if we make sure the genie stays in the bottle when we're not beckoning its assistance. The thing is, EVERYONE has to make sure of it. It's hard to imagine that EVERYONE will.
Wow this is my absolute fave episode' so far. I used to read Tarot in my teens-twenties(late 20th century) and decided to take it back up this year and thought that maybe the definitions i had in my head for the cards were too related to personal experiences/narratives...but seeing this episode has given me the confidence to just keep going with that intuitive flow. Dulce usually reads just one card at the start of our eps (when we remember) and I’m always amazed at the messages we get from people listening months later saying how perfect the card was for that exact moment of time for them personally! I love tarot. My brother had a girlfriend who had some decks and let me hold them and look at the pics (I was a child). Years later I told a friend about it and she bought me a deck. I have lots now I love it. It’s always been in my life ❤

Synchronicity generator is such a good term. Simple, short, to the point, then sums up the imagery and how it relates to the question or guest. That's pretty much how it began in the first place. I can't remember what it's called now, but there was an ancient word used for the act of going into the marketplace to observe things and conversations as a form of divination.

Those cards you drew were perfect for the time we're living in. With A.I. and countries becoming so dangerous to each other and the whole planet, that devil jumped out of the deck, and appeared again, like it was saying; "this ain't no joke!" The first two cards told us how to keep the third card in check. Btw, I think A.I. will be fine if we make sure the genie stays in the bottle when we're not beckoning its assistance. The thing is, EVERYONE has to make sure of it. It's hard to imagine that EVERYONE will.

Wow this is my absolute fave episode' so far. I used to read Tarot in my teens-twenties(late 20th century) and decided to take it back up this year and thought that maybe the definitions i had in my head for the cards were too related to personal experiences/narratives...but seeing this episode has given me the confidence to just keep going with that intuitive flow. Dulce usually reads just one card at the start of our eps (when we remember) and I’m always amazed at the messages we get from people listening months later saying how perfect the card was for that exact moment of time for them personally! I love tarot. My brother had a girlfriend who had some decks and let me hold them and look at the pics (I was a child). Years later I told a friend about it and she bought me a deck. I have lots now I love it. It’s always been in my life ❤
