Sith Subi Adventures They really should sell at 45-50 ish depending on the materials. I get it though that they need to use an aluminum rectangular disk to start with and most of it is wasted 🤷♂️
Hey man, there is a guy in the comments here who bought one for a 17 and it doesn’t fit. You may be able to contact him and buy it off him. It’s useless to him on a 17. I don’t know the guy personally so keep that in mind when buying off strangers. 👍
Lol. Its not an accurate description of the part if there isn’t a loaded mag being demonstrated with. I treat it no differently than if I’m at the range inserting the mag, safe direction, finger off the trigger etc.
Doesn't work with backstraps according to website? What is the issue with that? Is the screw not long enough, where does it not fit properly, can you show that before I purchase this? Great video in all other aspects however!
Jeez, just seeing this, so sorry. The back strap needs to access the bottom rear end of the magwell to properly install. The way the mag well extension is designed from SLR and any other company for that matter will need to use that pocket for the back strap. Essentially, the back strap can not be used unless it is customized and bonded to the frame which would be permanent.
I just bought one of these and it fits perfectly. As for the back strap issue. There is a workaround.... So I don't like stippling and usually buy a Talon grip for my carry gun. What I did was "creatively" trim the bottom of my medium sized back strap on the very bottom so that it fits flush with the magwell and bottom of the grip enough that it could sit and no one would be able to tell it was trimmed. Of course doing this will keep it from locking in at the bottom but that will be addressed later with the Talon grip. I put the magwell on and used a tiny bit of blue locktight then put on the backstrap. After that I got my talon grip (the one for a glock with a back strap) and made sure it is aligned perfectly and boom. It holds the bottom of the backstrap and you cant even tell its trimmed. So I have the backstrap, magwell and my favorite temporary grip attached and fits comfortably in my hand. The only downsize is that in trimming the back strap end it will obviously show the work if you take it off and or resell the gun but if your like me and have half a dozen or so glocks that have the backstraps then you have spares. :)
Unfortunately they don't make the short version for the G19 Gen5 models without the half-moon cutout. I just bought the regular size one as it's still pretty compact and doesn't print any more than the one in this video since the added magwell material is in the front of the grip.
No it didn’t, I listened to this video again and I wasn’t pushing the set screw all the way in...but I did almost strip the screw. Be very careful, it started happening even with the correct size Hex size
Nick slowSTI thanks for the reply! I bought one to check it out. My Glock 19 Gen 5 does not have the half moon cut out and SLR had a magwell already for my version
@@SUNDAYHRS Does it work with Shield Arms Mag extension? Did you test? I just purchased the magwell for G19 gen 5 MOS (without the half moon cut like yours), but now I'm not sure if it will work on my Shield Arms Mag extension.
Buyer beware. I ordered one for my Gen 5 17. The flare DID NOT cover the lips of the magwell. I contacted the company and they refused a refund and would not give store credit unless they could resell it (with no scratches) which obviously it gets from trying and realizing shit doesn’t work. I offered to send pics and they refused. I now have a $92 “flared” that is purely cosmetic
Charlie Rober WOW that’s terrible, sounds like customer service may not be their strength as a company. I thought they had a separate version for the 17’s?
Hey, there is a guy in here that would like to buy one of these but is pushed away by the outrageous price point. Maybe you might be able to contact him and work something out.
Thanks man! The mag well has held up fairly well. Some chips and scratches where the magazines get inserted but that is to be expected with this part of the gun. Seems to be a quality part but I’m sure someone who trains for a living would say otherwise. It would have to be made of stainless steel to be durable enough to not chip and scratch.
I can understand using aluminum on a competition gun, but a carry gun polymer would be fine.. and you know if you flip those calipers around you could have measured internal dimensions, which would be more relevant.
Thanks for the suggestion. The purpose of me using the calipers was to provide relevant information about the thickness of the magwell in relation to how it may print/ poke out your cover garment. The exterior dimensions of the magwell were larger than that of the oem grip which provides evidence that this modification can lead to an issue with printing. I will go into more detail in future videos.
The price point is what’s keeping me from buying one for my Glock 19 Gen 3. I can only assume that they are made of gold and not aluminum? 😆 I’ll probably end up getting one tho but it will definitely be last. My G19 is going to be my Winter ccw. Right now I’m carrying the Springfield Hellcat which I’ve been carrying since it came out. I got it pretty early when 1st released.
You should never inset a loaded mag into any gun when you are doing a demo. I know you said the chamber is empty but you should not have any ammo on the same table as you do have your gun when you are making a video or if you are cleaning your guns.
Thanks for the clear and well-explained review. The coyote frame with the black slide looks beautiful btw
SLR makes wagwells with or without the half moon cutout. Depending on what frame you have.
Great review and I’m with you the price on these things are the main reason that keeps me from purchasing one myself.

@@nickslosubi690 its doesn't cost more than $5 to make that. You can buy them on ebay for $20, some random china site for $9
You put your loaded mag in. You take your loaded mag out. You put you loaded mag in and you shake it all about.

Nice video. Enjoy the detail in your explanations.
Jose Tapia Thank you 🙏. In future videos I hope to get the camera and lighting down pat for better visual quality as well.
i wish they made the short version for the non half moon cut as well
Why no video of mag extensions going in the slr
I'd rather you have a punisher skull instead of an Olight...
The olight broke lol. Only stream light,, surefire and modlite now.
I’m pissed. Went to install my new SLT magwell on the G19x...Used a 5/64 Allen wrench and the stupid screw stripped out.
No it didn’t, I listened to this video again and I wasn’t pushing the set screw all the way in...but I did almost strip the screw. Be very careful, it started happening even with the correct size Hex size
Do you know if it works with a Shield Arms Mag extension?
AdamMichael23 I can not confirm that information. It does work with the oem mags and the tarantactical magazine extensions and base plates.

That’s a good looking gun !! I got the slr mag well coming for my g17 g5 .. how well has it held up ?

So if you gave a back strap this mag well won’t work
Correct
Looks dope good review. I’m going to order one. Although for the price they should’ve filled in the half moon and sent a second one as well 😂

Where u buy?
Right off SLR rifle works website. I cant link the product, so sorry. TH-cam rules.
@@nickslosubi690 how much u pay?
Great video. I’m gonna grab one for my Gen 5 .. btw ,Is that an extended slide release ? And if so, who makes it ?
Anthony Russo Thank you. The Slide release is by Glock store.com I do not recommend their guide rod however because it looses tension fairly quickly.
Great Video Bro I Have To Get Comfortable Speaking When I Make My Videos. Great Work Keep Shootin
The screw stripped instantly help please
Mine did too 😂what did you do . I’m gonna try to tap it and get a new screw

Red loctite would be a horrible idea.
Only the worst of ideas lol.
WTH you doing bro ?!?!?!
What? 😂
Good ol' mag porno.
I like it tho 😘😍😘😍, mine is just much better
It's too bulky for conceal carry.
For summertime yeah

Gun gripe of the day: loaded ammo on the table. Tisk. Tisk.
You should never inset a loaded mag into any gun when you are doing a demo. I know you said the chamber is empty but you should not have any ammo on the same table as you do have your gun when you are making a video or if you are cleaning your guns.
Its not going to work the same with an empty mag for the demo. I should have used snap caps, and will in the future.
