My review of the Casio G-shock GW7900-B digital watch.
It is a large but lightweight watch that sits high on the wrist. It has an all black display, an auto light when you tilt your wrist, atomic time keeping via radio wave, solar powered, stopwatch, alarm, timer, moon phase and tide graph, world time and wings underneath the watch that help with stability and comfortability. Full specs below:

Sup3rSaiy3n hello, I had a look at this watch in argos and couldn't tell if the screws were metal or plastic, also the screws were loose and I'm worried that they would fall out as others have stated. Many thanks Jason
Jason Wilson The one you should go for has the metal screws and they have the same pattern head. The one with plastic screws is the cheaper version.

Awesome review! Thank you :O) I bought 2 on sale so I have 1 as a backup. I am pretty tough on my watches and have no problems. I recommend charging them under a lamp and mine have ALWAYS been 100% charged. Thanks again! Christian
Your welcome. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I too have used the lamp charging method a couple of times. I recommend an LED lamp or something that's quite bright otherwise it will take a long time to charge. Take care.

hi ive recently bought this great watch. I have managed to get the atomic time to update manually but i was wondering how to set the time to update auto i cant work it out.
Is the vision of the hour good?

You say that the negative display isn't that hard to read, but when you compare it to the other models I find it very hard to see the numbers...do you know if there's any model with the same design but with a positive display?

Coz' mine are loose but so far they haven't fall off yet..

Stefan Belderol They shouldn't be loose. I would try and tighten them as you don't want them to fall out.
Can you tell me if the top display is able to display time instead of the current mode it's on or date? For example if I wanted to have my local time on the top display while on timer mode.
Unfortunately this is not possible.

Will this watch automatically update your time while traveling through different time zones? Thanks!
Stephen Bates I own this watch and I believe you will have to manually adjust the time zone yourself. The watch doesn't have a GPS. The atomic clock syncing only syncs for the time you've indicated. However, if you were to change the time zone the time should only adjust to reflect the accurate difference from your regularly set time zone

@@tristanmalone8601 sorry to hear that. I did have one come off in the beginning when I first got mine. I ordered a replacement and since I have never lost another. And I work in construction and as an electrician so I'm not exactly being ginger as I go about my day lol. Had it 6 years now.

How long does the battery last when the watch isn't receiving sunlight?
It should last months.
ducks134 months. For a time I had the watch tucked in a drawer for about 6 months only because I had gotten a new FitBit and had too much to wear to put it on. But when I pulled it out of the dark drawer after 6 months it had a full battery. I have never NEVER seen this watch leave having a full battery
can you swap the M / D to D / M ? its not mentioned in the manual but i have a casio watch already and it also isnt mentioned in the manual but you can swap them around

***** that sucks other than that this looks like the perfect watch also what is the difference between the 4 alarms and the snooze alarm? 4 just go off and get silenced and the snooze one you can snooze or silence?

my wv-58u you can swap it around and there is 0 mention of it in the manual

I also have this watch I don't think it is very comfortable if you have large wrists unless you remove the wings just like I did. The rivets of the case tend to fall off unless you apply an epoxy from the inside and quite often there is a module failure with random auto El enablings which is easily fixable. That being said it is great watch
That's a shame to hear. Are you sure it's the same one? I know there is a similar model with plastic rivets on the face. I have never had any problems with this watch or any other G-shock for that matter.
***** It's the same one alright. I had to open the watch and bend the metal tab responsible for the light so that there isn't constant contact with the module and result to battery drain. After fixing it i find it difficult to get if off my wrist. It's a great watch but Casio really blew it with this one.If you google gw-7900b problems you will find out other people have these kind of problems.

Have you seen the models with a +ve display, I might invest in one as this model is great.
I have seen a similar model with a +ve display that isn't bad (G-7900-1ER) but it's not in the same league as your GW-7900B-1. Do you know if Casio has an updated version of the GW-7900B-1? Even if it's a -ve display I'll buy it.

Anyone who does is better off designing their own cases and shipping their watches as a cheaper brand of their own. Might pick this up, using a GW-M5610 and it's amazing! 80s case with modern tech inside :)
