Solo camping is the art of being present in nature's embrace, and this video is a sensory exploration of the solo overlanding experience. From the crisp mountain air to the crackle of the campfire, it's an intimate journey into solitude.
We were up the canyon, this spring. Go as far as the avalanche. Went the next week got to the last switch back on Kenabec. Couldn't get but a mile off main road to Columbus. SNOW. Loved this video. Keep bringing trail videos.
Greetings from Australia! We definitely gotta do this exact same itinerary when we get over there. You guys are so fortunate to have such wonderful mountain scenery.
Great pics/video and providing locations throughout! Followed the Holy Cross section and don’t think people realize how well the 4Runner did considering; on 33’s vs. 35/38’s, no sway bar disconnect, no front locker, no solid axle, much less approach/departure angles…like comparing a pro basketball player who is 5’10 vs. 6’10.
I love these videos so much! I just got a jeep and have decided I want to do these trails at some point. I live in Arkansas so your videos inspired me to take it off roading. Thank you
It'll more interesting and satisfying to see how all the rigs in the convoy tackle the technical parts depending on what vehicle they're driving. How it is set up, tyres size, lift and suspension etc.
All the help from the extra spotters must’ve been amazing. 😂 been going to Colorado for ten years and haven’t done Holy cross gonna give it a whirl next June. Great video love it
Gorgeous views in Colorado. I've never been off of I-70 and I-25, but I've always wanted to go. Random question: What grab handles do you have in Sully at 1:44:40? Thanks for the awesome movie. One day I'll get up there and explore it for myself.
Awesome video!! It's crazy to think that ya'll need those fancy stoves when you have a fire to cook with. My Tacoma I bet weights 500 to 700 lbs lighter then the lightest rig there!!
Samotne biwakowanie to sztuka przebywania na łonie natury, a ten film to zmysłowa eksploracja samotnego zejścia. Od rześkiego górskiego powietrza po trzask ogniska, jest to intymna podróż w samotność.
Was up on a non maintained road with friends on the other side of marble going to cross a mountain pass intiCrested Butte. There was a big drop on the right side going up. They told us who had the right of way etc. I’m from the low country of SC and was scared to death. The pass was snowed closed and we had to turn around. I walked down afraid they were going over the side. They made it. What a rocking chair memory.
this is like the 3rd time I've seen this "movie" 😉but I never saw the very end until now...the up close encounter with those two deer was the absolute hi-light of the whole journey! (except for those two awesome gorgeous jeeps parked next to eachother at the very end!) I know you must've been SO disappointed that Cara wasn't there with you to share in that awesome moment with the deers. (or deer, whatever the plural is 🤔. Thanks once again for bringing us all along. Take care and always be safe❤
Landed on your channel due to TH-cam autoplay next video. Renal Physiologist here. You might want to check with a doc for a Rx for Acetazolamide to help with high attitude sickness. Shifting the bicarb curve.
Matt, come do an overland adventure through Southern Colorado. I’ll take you to some epic places not very well known to a lot of people. Plan it for this summer. You won’t be disappointed!! Reach out to me any time!
Thanks for taking us viewers on your awesome journey. There are some great views along the way and trips like that make it so hard to get back to civilization. I live in western Canada so very close to the Rocky Mountains and they are so beautiful to explore. Keep up the great content and thanks again from a fellow JKU owner 👋🇨🇦
26° roll sure feels SKETCHY. Granted it is still a good bit away from rolling but it sure feels like you are right there. Even better to roll towards the edge eh?!🤣🤣
Glad you got to see some of my backyard!! I think would have enjoyed "Red Cone". RMNP is always amazing. Can you tell me the name of the trail with the Bluff. I don't recognize that one. Thanks ! Maybe see you at Overland Expo Mtn West. I go each year.
I had a hi lift years ago. Barely ever used it, and it was susceptible to rust. If the lift pins and springs don't slide freely the jack becomes a paperweight.
In 1988 my brother in law went wheeling with me and we went over mosquito pass at night no moon light i gave him a flashlight and he looked over the edge turned the light off put his seatbelt on and didnt say a word till leadville ... we got to holy cross trail at daylight what a great trip that was 👍
Born and raised in rich countries is a privilege guys. Be blessed and happy. Imagine “you the people”are doing this for fun and others in my village risk their lives everyday in a way worse road just to make a living.
My Ram 2500 wouldn't make the 1st 3 days of trails, but the one after holy Cross I sure would love to try. I'll have to go back through the video and find out the name.
After Holy Cross was the Flattops. Be sure and check out this friday's videos and the 3 following it. I spent 4 days in the Flattops and your Ram would be awesome there.
The slide is from Global Road Outdoors. The fridge is too long for the slide so I had to cut the back out of the slide to make it work. But it works well!
great hairstyle ✌️🤣 as we say: the main thing is not to grow old with your soul, but age is nonsense!!! great video!!! and great tour!!! THANK YOU!!! hello from Russia ✌️
I almost pissed my pants, laughing my azz off. Who's the 50 yr old guy sporting the 12 yr old haircut? Have to give him credit he has balls . LMFAO !!!!!! You need to be careful an eagle don't fly by an nest on your head lol.
Bigger balls than you I’m sure. 😂😂 Next time I get my hair cut I’ll be sure to get something boring so the petty people like you will approve. Who’s the 50 yr old guy living the dream traveling to amazing places making videos full time while you’re stuck at home? 😂😂😂
best purchase you will ever make in your life, well, just any vehicle that can get you offroad! It's the best thing you will ever do and you won't regret it! 😊
Like always you did a great video thank you for sharing with us. I've been thinking to place my gmrs antenna on the hood of the jeep since My have a soft top and then on your video, I noticed that your wife jeep have the antenna radio on the hood of her jeep so how do you like it there the transmission is good or the the transmission is poor? Once more thank you for yor works making those videos...
The trail you got on after Holy Cross seemed you were on it 2 or 3 days. How long is that trail? I think it would be a great way to start my overlanding journey
I usually associate blue or purple hair with those that lack proper oxygen supply to their brains these days....but thanks for the great scenic video work...
Amazing! You have inspired my husband and I to venture out and start over landing. Wondering what roof rack is on your wife’s JL. Looking for a jku roof rack that holds more than 150 LB but allows front roof panels to still be removed. We Love your channel! Thx!
Love this video. I have been to Estes Park and loved it. I am getting into overlanding and want to do what you did in the same area. I'm from Niagara Falls Canada so it is atleast a days drive. Thanks for posting, it really has excited me. I really enjoy your videos. What radios are you guys using, CB, GMRS, etc?
Sorry I didn’t watch this video yet but I’m sure it’s another great video and will watch when I have more time but in the meantime Can you share what you use to keep your patches on the ceiling of your rig? I have hothead roof liners and I got Velcro from lowes and the patches fall down when I drive over bumps. Not all of them fall but it’s definitely annoying. Thanks in advance for your help
Solo camping is the art of being present in nature's embrace, and this video is a sensory exploration of the solo overlanding experience. From the crisp mountain air to the crackle of the campfire, it's an intimate journey into solitude.
I wasn’t solo camping in this video.
Don't worry about that 4runner buddy. I've got a 3rd gen with 370k on it and the only thing that doesn't work on her is the power antenna.
Cameras NEVER do any justice on how steep trails are 😂 the look on Cara’s face said it all😮
Thanks!
Thank you for ur videos. They bring some healing to my world.
I live in Boulder Colorado so you just on the the other side of the Mountain so that area is my back yard I'm glad you liked it
I am a big fan of Matt's Off Road Recovery. A great one to watch to learn how to traverse some of this terrain...
Matt and his crew saved me from shear death for sure. Im lucky
Matts one of the BEST offroaders EVER and ever
Well done guys. Colt you built an amazing rig and it was a blast to watch you wheel it. Thank so much for everything you put into it.
Glad you enjoyed it
I love wheeling in the rain! Awesome trail
The 4Runner did awesome but… he’s on 35s, has front and rear lockers, and no from sway bar. He’s built it very well!!
Great rendition of lamb chop with “the song that never ends” 😂😂😂
The lake on the bluffs was absolutely gorgeous, thank you for that.
I love these videos so much! I just got a jeep and have decided I want to do these trails at some point. I live in Arkansas so your videos inspired me to take it off roading. Thank you
fellow razorback ❤
What a great adventure , loved the movie length video . Keep up the great work
Thanks, will do!
It'll more interesting and satisfying to see how all the rigs in the convoy tackle the technical parts depending on what vehicle they're driving. How it is set up, tyres size, lift and suspension etc.
This is like a feature length movie. Thank you for putting this together.
Another great vid and super surprised I tuned in for the premier! Love the candid commentary, great job ladies!
We love your videos. We watched every minute. Thank you very much.
Wow, thank you
All the help from the extra spotters must’ve been amazing. 😂 been going to Colorado for ten years and haven’t done Holy cross gonna give it a whirl next June. Great video love it
Very xtreme and challenging to some parts on trail...glad you did videos of it...might try it someday!
I am VERY excited to watch this as I wait on parts to get here to finish installing my steering kit!
really like that country. We travel out there all the time. Good video. New Gladiator should be here in 2 weeks, Excited.....

Thank you so much for the video love you this was my backyard miss it so much thanks for the memorys my friends this is heaven to me Colorado native
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow, that looks like an amazing trail! Will need to do a run with you guys back east sometime!
Awesome video!! It's crazy to think that ya'll need those fancy stoves when you have a fire to cook with. My Tacoma I bet weights 500 to 700 lbs lighter then the lightest rig there!!
You're calling a camp stove "fancy"? Just depends on what we are cooking. I did cook over the fire in the video.

Absolutely loved this video! Loved the longer format too!
Yay! Thank you!

Enjoying the new vehicle comms addition to the video. Great feature 🤘
Thanks!!
Love seeing the wife absolutely kill it on the trails.
And I agree with you, I have an Ocean Blue JKU, and I would TOTALLY drive her Jeep....
Stop making such great videos! I stay up too late watching them. 😂
Luke 12:28. I love it! Thanks for the reminder 😊
Loved the video, being on the east coast I will probably not make it out there, such a beautiful area . Enjoyed the entire video. Thank you.
What wheel manufacture does James have on his Jeep? It's the silver/gray Jeep with looks like a gun metal finish rims (@ 10:10) on the clip. Thank you
Wow! This an amazing video. Thank you.
Landed on your channel due to TH-cam autoplay next video. Renal Physiologist here. You might want to check with a doc for a Rx for Acetazolamide to help with high attitude sickness. Shifting the bicarb curve.
I learnt that the hard way myself.
You should make it to fishlake Utah. Beautiful place.

I always cry like a little girl when it's time to go home after each one of our trips! My husband gets so tickled at me😊
What an outstanding video. Thanks for sharing.
That's so awesome. Hope to retire in Idaho or Colorado!
26° roll sure feels SKETCHY. Granted it is still a good bit away from rolling but it sure feels like you are right there. Even better to roll towards the edge eh?!🤣🤣
Awesome trip and video guys, really enjoyed it, regards from Barcelona/Spain, cheers!

I'm in Springfield and would love to go with you guys
Great adventure and scenery.

I like videos like this about traveling in our international border provinces.👍
Where are your grab handles from? I love the little jeep grilles.
Awesome trip. I hope to take my son down that way soon. Thanks for the guided tour. FYI, I vote SAME DEER :-)
So nice I had to watch it twice!
When are you going back? That way we can get the sequel haha

The slide is from Global Road Outdoors. The fridge is too long for the slide so I had to cut the back out of the slide to make it work. But it works well!
Amazing still shots, must have been some trip ☀️😊👍
that was a ZJ you came across in the video on Holy Cross that helped spot, not an XJ
Amazing overlanding.
Your wife represented all women❤ I’d never do a drive like this on my own but it was super exciting and beautiful to watch #jeeplife😊
Amazing video, really enjoy your content!
Glad you enjoy it!

best purchase you will ever make in your life, well, just any vehicle that can get you offroad! It's the best thing you will ever do and you won't regret it! 😊
I think 🤔 you guys and gals are awesome 👌 👏 THANKS for sharing
Thanks so much!!
What bumper is on your wife's jl? That is one of the most beautiful bumpers I've ever seen on a jeep...wow!
It's Fishbone Offroad. It looks nice but it's not made well.
I would like to know more about your diesel heater
Like always you did a great video thank you for sharing with us.
I've been thinking to place my gmrs antenna on the hood of the jeep since My have a soft top and then on your video, I noticed that your wife jeep have the antenna radio on the hood of her jeep so how do you like it there the transmission is good or the the transmission is poor?

@@OzarkOverlandAdventures thank you so much!!!
And happy new year for you and your family
Amazing video!
Wow... Amazing view
What kind of drone do you use & about how mutch duz it cost & how long duz it last each time you fly it ? Ty
Black Bear Trail in Colorado is one that all of you should try if you think you can do it...
I've done Black Bear Pass a few times. It's fun!! Sadly I think it's days of being open are numbered.
Great! Brasil, south América, rio de janeiro, beatiful city
The trail you got on after Holy Cross seemed you were on it 2 or 3 days. How long is that trail? I think it would be a great way to start my overlanding journey
You guys are great! Keep the videos coming!
Hello. Do you think Dodge ram 3500 prospector XL AEV could pass all obstacles shown here?
Holy Cross might be a struggle with a truck that large.
I usually associate blue or purple hair with those that lack proper oxygen supply to their brains these days....but thanks for the great scenic video work...
That’s a reflection of your judgmental character. Do better.
Beautiful, what part of Colorado is this?
I like your channel is the best video in the USA 🌎🌎🌎🌎
Amazing! You have inspired my husband and I to venture out and start over landing. Wondering what roof rack is on your wife’s JL. Looking for a jku roof rack that holds more than 150 LB but allows front roof panels to still be removed. We Love your channel! Thx!
Thanks!! Cara has the Rhino Rack Backbone rack with the platform. It’s solid.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures Thank you so much!
Best..... For such expeditions Manual or Auto.. which transmission is good?
I prefer auto. Driving a manual on harder trails is exhausting. lol.
Thanks so much!! We run Midland GMRS radios.
I'm not doing anything special for my patches with the Hotheads Headliner. The velcro just sticks.
Now I see why there’s 1 millón views. This one is awesome 👏 😎
Thank you
Nice thanks for sharing
