    In this video I show how I fix an issue that arised with my Chevy Suburban's ABS, Stabilitrak and traction control system. Although, the parts I used in this video to fix my truck did the job, this problem can occur from a few different issues (grounding, wiring, etc...).

    I love that you show the mechanic's book and read from it. It tells kids who may be interested in cars and that they need to know how to read!

    Great video and explanation. You do need to move your slotted brake rotors to the opposite side of the burb though. They are in the wrong direction

    Excellent video, and I like your troubleshooting techniques.
    One thing, though... You spray brake clean into the sensor hole on the front and that is a huge NO NO... brake clean will dilute and make useless the pre-loaded grease in the wheel bearing, possibly leading to early bearing failure... Best to clean it before you remove the sensor. Cheers!

    What else would cause traction control and stabilizer light to come on after replacing wheel speed sensors, spark plugs and wires? There is no play in the wheel hubs or noise, no rough idle. Just comes on and stays on.

    • @TerenceDIY
      @TerenceDIY  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Plugs and wires has nothing to do with the traction control/ABS system. What year, make and model is your vehicle? Please let me know.

      Okay. Is the service engine light on as well? Despite the traction light on, it still drives fine correct?

    • @kishmabelin8084
      @kishmabelin8084 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No service engine light on that's why I'm baffled

    • @TerenceDIY
      @TerenceDIY  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are getting the message of "service stabilitrak, and traction control across the screen correct? Although the service engine light is not on, there are codes stored in BCM that needs to be read in order for you to pin point the issue. A regular OBD II scanner will not read those codes. I have dealt with many situations regarding those lights. A common issue was the "Steering Wheel Position Sensor". I am not saying that is your problem, but I would not be surprised if it is.

  • @arleneportsmouth1263
    @arleneportsmouth1263 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Specifically, which OBD SCANNER do I need to get to pin-point the EXACT CAUSE of the "STABIL-TRAK & TRACTION CONTROL" issue ? Since 2012, ( when a guy name Lynn Virgil Haas stole my 2007 during this time & had it for 6 months ) I saw "TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR" warnining light. I got new rear brakes and then 2 months later, 4 brand new tires and started seeing the Traction Control & Stabil-Trak Issue. I purchased the Suburban in 2011 in St George UT and it came from an original owner (a Bank President) in Chino, California.

    Gotta 07 Silverado. It goes on and off randomly every time I drive but the good thing is it no longer jerks when I go at low speeds for some reason idk why it stopped doing that 😂

    Could a faulty abs sensor cause the traction control to come on in my vehicle? I’ve been having trouble with traction control coming on and staying on, rough idle and won’t accelerate. i recently replaced the tps and it minimized the rough idle but that was with it off. With traction control it just stutters when i try to accelerate and i’ll only be able to get some speed when im down hill. It’ll be off and i can drive fine sometimes but recently it’s either off when i turn on the car but comes on when i push the gas pedal or it’s immediately on when i turn the key and won’t come off so i just leave it alone for a few hours hoping it’ll go away. I have my check engine light on as well and my dad ran the computer through it and the engine has about 11 codes but i just wanna know if you could possibly give me some insight on why the traction control specifically could be coming on. Thank you! My vehicle is a 2007 GMC Yukon.

    • @TerenceDIY
      @TerenceDIY  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, an ABS sensor can cause the traction control light to illuminate. However, you said you have about 11 codes. The traction control along with the service engine light also illuminates when there is an issue with the vehicle by placing it in "limp mode" to decrease further damage. I know your vehicle pretty well and just with the few symptoms you describe, the ABS sensor it not your issue. Can you tell me some of the codes? I am pretty sure some will be the same and others will correlate.
