      Thanks for watching! I just bought an 07 4Runner SR5 with the 4.7 V8, I’ll be posting a highway MPG video of that one this week to see how they compare

    What kind of gas does this take? I have a 2008 limited v8 and can’t figure out what manual says regarding this

    I have an 07 sr5 4wd v6 with 265/70/17 all terrains and I get 16-17 on the highway at those speeds.

      Not bad! I was happy to squeeze 18 mpg out of it, usually winter time it drops to 16

      I have 2017 4Runner SR5, average is 15.5 and almost 20 mpg on the highway at 60 mph.
      Don’t expect anything better on a rig like this.
      It’s an excellent rig and especially in 4wheel drive or crawling over rocks or horrible roads.

      That's insane. Id be lucky if I can get 18 mpg on my v6 on the highway. And I drive like a grandpa at 60mph usually.

    Your tps light was on, did you just not reset it or was your pressure low. I would imagine that would affect mpg.

    • @leese5159
      @leese5159  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The TPMS sensors in one of the wheels is bad, all the tires had 35 PSI

    That's crazy. I'm barely getting 15.5 mpg on my 4.0 v6 that's combined in Seattle. I used to get over 18 mpg combined but for the past 6 mo ths I've been getting sh!tty gas mileage. What do you guys think is the cause?

    • @leese5159
      @leese5159  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That does seem low.. especially for now being in warmer weather. My 07 4runner V8 4x4 just got 16.8 mpg hand calculated mixed driving.
      I would check or change spark plugs, PCV, clean the throttle body. You could possibly have a sticking caliber causing resistance as well.

    • @Food-is_Life
      @Food-is_Life 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@leese5159 yea I used to get about upper 18 mpg and nothing was wrong or anything? I've been throwing code p0430 and p0420 for bank 1 and bank 2. I was told it was my cat going out but I've been driving on that for almost 2 years now and I was throwing those codes before. I cleared it and it goes away and come back like in 6-8 months but now it's throwing the code like every week or so. I was also told e en if I changed the cat out it wouldn't make a huge difference on mpg? Could my o2 sensor be bad and would that cause a huge drop in mpg? I. Going to tackle the spark plugs this coming weekend. It's been well over 30k since I changed it. Coming near 40k now. Would changing out the plugs help? Oh I also cleaned the MAS already and that didn't help at all. Oh and I think my calipers are fine because when I drive and let go of the wheel it drives straight. About 4 months ago I had my 4WD stuck in 4 Lo and finally got it out and into 4 high then back to 2WD. But I read in Toyota forums that driving on 4 high doesn't really save much gas anyway. 🤔 What do you think bro?

      You need highway tires. I saw on a forum where someone got 300 miles doing 60 mph on freeway.

    • @Food-is_Life
      @Food-is_Life 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lukesmith981 300 miles, on a full tank? That’s bad. I can achieve that on highway easily if it’s just highway. I’ll probably get 350+. I’m talking about mixed. Highway and streets/city.

    • @lukesmith981
      @lukesmith981 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Food-is_Life I was talking about the V8, but what gas brand do you pump and how many miles on the car? Do you check your tiers psi and keep up with tier rotation? What type of tires are you using?

      I'm a but surprised, too. Max I got on my V8 Limited 4wd was 23 mpg cruising 60-65 mph. Running AT tires, changed to all synthetic fluids. I feel like I could bump that number higher with HT tires and the carbon filter removed.
