with good bridgestone blizzaks on the rear & a 302 head behind each wheel at the tailgate my 2 wheel drive does fantastic in snow for a basically 1 wheel drive empty truck.the lack of off idle torque helps it get going without spinning.

Imagine if you were towing a trailer. Plenty of power but it's going to cost you. I have the 5.4, not as much power but I get about 15-17 mpg on the highway. Plenty of power if you're not racing or pulling a heavy trailer. Even then, I don't need to be going 60 plus MPH going up hill with a 7,000 lb. trailer.

I had a car just like this and my nephew has it in Beaumont Texas and he's just sitting in the garage I wish I had it back and couldn't afford to pay the gas to drive it though it took premium I think it's like $6 a gallon in Florida

I had a car like this and I'll pull it off the showroom floor and my payments was $139.67 and I paid it off in a year and save all that interest my nephew and Beaumont Texas has it now and he's just letting it sit there and not do nothing and freeze plugs need replacing and I just wish I had it back but I can't afford two cars but I hope he can get this thing started and it's a wonderful car that thing a fly❤❤❤❤

Just picked up my first 2003 4.7 V8 4Runner. I've always has 1999-2006 Silverado 5.3s and I love those trucks but I was ready for something with a smaller feel to it with the same 6000+ tow rating. Think I'm gonna buy a second one of these as a backup since they're so underrated for the price when you find them priced correctly.

Ahh, sucess. 🙂 . I have to pump the heck out of my '79 t/a, even with a full tank of gas. Last year, first time in 36 years, I had to add gas directly into the carburetor to fire it up. Mine has a 403 in it. Car sits for about 7 months because of our harsh winters. THEN, it runs rough, chuggin' with hood shaker looking like it's ready to take off into orbit. 😊 I hold the gas slightly to keep it from choking out and eventually it resumes it's glorious growl. You have a great car. Hope you're still enjoying it! 👍

13L per 100kms is what I get usually also and that’s works out to 18MPG Obviously we wish it was better but it’s not bad for what we get with it. To be honest it’s about as fuel efficient as my 2012 f150 ecoboost I had. Granted I could drive more like 120kms vs 110 Or 75 va 70

You need some new spark plugs. I got 19 mpg fully loaded with 2 adults 14 and 10 year olds with luggages. By myself I still get 20 to 21 mpg with my 2005 SR5 4x4 300K miles original coils and spark plug replaced at 150K

Mine runs fine and 20° weather. It’s the negative weather it won’t start.

It is a shame that the 4.6L V8 never made it into the 4Runner. Because of that I went with a Lexus GX and never looked back. The 4.0L V6 is a great motor don't get me wrong, but it is underpowered in the 4Runner especially when it is loaded with people and gear. That V8 makes all the difference in the world and actually gets slightly better mpg.
