Nice educational video, i just bought a 04 land rover discovery 2 a 7 seater from copart with 146,000 on odometer. it's was in a recent accident. The previous owner rearend something, so it has a salvage title. i got it for 600 dollars . It will need a hood , passenger fender, front bumper, both headlights, and a possible radiator , i think an easy fix the discovery will be delivered to me Thursday then i know more about the damages or did i buy a paper weight 😊. I also own a 07 land rover lr3 hse i also bought off copart 18 months ago 1100 runs and drives excellent i built that into a overland build, but the d2 has so much more soild axles can fit 35 in tires just has that safari look to it old school feel , not a cookie cutter suv now days separate the boyss from the men for the true loyalty to l and rover owners no matter the year , i like to see tear down rebuild of the 4.66 engine & transmission that be a sweet series of videos

the LR2 discovery was the last "serious" off roader. Its all downhill from there. Its just like any other SUV full of electronic shite and bloody expensive to fix. Good luck with your project. If the ladder frame is not bent you should be good to go.

How does one text if the difglock is working when it's on the car?

when you engage the diff lock the power is split 50/50 fronto to back. So you have to get the land rover with one wheel up(offroading) and see if there is still traction on the wheels that are on the ground. Or on tarmac with diff lock engaged, turn the steering wheel full lock and drive. If you hear the wheels churning and feel the car "stiff" diff lock is engaged. Careful driving like that will break something if you overdo it.
