That chassis is a thing of envy! I was thinking that this job might be on my horizon soon, but it seems like my leak is ATF rather than transfer oil, despite being on the transfer case… Certainly makes things easier having a lift, mine’s stock so I don’t reckon I’d have the clearance for a driveway job even with stands :/
Very helpful video as usual. How did you diagnosed that the leak was coming from the input shaft seal? Seems there are so many places the transfer case can leak from! It's hard to tell when it's in the transfer case is in the vehicle. Thanks!
Hi there it can be difficult to track a leak, I normally start by cleaning all areas and wait for the oil to reappear, which lets you pin point a location. If oil appears anywhere near the point where the engine and gear box meet its nearly always the input seal. However I have known the seal to be fine and the output shaft has warn the housing. Thanks and hope this helps.
@@olafiajibolaji3690 Hi that is a challenging one. "F" is often associated with temperature issues. To be safe I would get it plugged into a diagnostic machine to see the fault code. It could be the oil/filter is overdue a change, the oil cooler is blocked and not doing its job among other things. Thanks.
Hi there it prob comes down to a personal choice and if your planning on wading/off roading etc. If there was any chance water or mud could find it's way through the gap and onto the major seals I would suggest do it. Hope this helps and thanks for your interest.
