I figured this one out as I was watching your video, basically I was continually pressing the return button to exit out of apps, then I realized that if I just hold down the return button the option to exit an app appears which is much easier than hitting back over and over.

Hi Steve, Adjust Logo Brightness should be set High to avoid pixel burn-in due to a bright log. High setting does not mean that logo will be set to have high brightness as you suggested in the video. High means that the TV would do a "higher adjustment" to the logo to avoid burn-in. Please refer to User Manual page 11 for "Recommendations for Minimizing Image Retention"

Brilliant video with clear info given for some of the amazing number of settings on LG TVs. Some you mention I already knew about, some are not good for me but some are excellent - eg the ability to type in the names of Sources instead of the generic "HDMI 1" etc. Also a puzzle solved: Sometimes when I mute the speaker the hidden menu annoyingly pops up and AV Reset is activated. I now know this happens on a triple press of "mute" - but why, on doing this, does the audio level drop to 10 without me wanting to change it? And what other ok functiions are reset?

Thanks for the terrific info, Steve. I have a question though. On my older model LG TV I am able to format my USB sticks and after doing so I put films onto the USB stick and can play them. The films come up listed so I can choose easily what to watch. However, they don't seem to work so well on this newer model. Has LG made changes? Also, I haven't been able to find a way of formatting USB sticks on the new model. Any ideas you can give me to help with this, please?

Hello, great video! I wonder whether it would be possible to create a shortcut on a remote or on a smartphone to a function that is hidden behind some menu levels like "Screen Off"? It would be helpful i.e. when streaming music through tv. This way the screen would not have to be on for longer listening sessions when it is not really needed.

Thanks for this info. I have noticed that, even with energy saver off, my G1 dims throughout screenings of films. Turns out that it’s one of two under the hook settings that can’t be accessed, except through secret tech menus. Do you know about this? Apparently the TV thinks it needs to dim when a scene is playing and hasn’t changed for a while. It then brightens after a cut to a new scene. It is insanely frustrating. Again, this was not fixed by energy saving being turned off.

Boy, am I glad I found THIS !! Great set, but I had no idea how to set up most of the things you discuss here. I was getting pretty frustrated. Now if ONLY I could get the remote to take less than 3 seconds to open menus, change inputs, etc, this would be the perfect TV. Thanks also for the info regarding the control items hidden in the on/off switch. I was wondering how I could do anything if my dog ate my remote. I ended up purchasing an aftermarket magic remote on Amazon for 5 bucks. Works great too. The regular non-magic remote works fine for all of these items BTW

Hugely helpful information which, years ago, would presumably have been in an instruction manual. Now, cheapskate manufacturers save the considerable cost of writing and printing manuals and leave their users in the dark. Disgraceful. Thank heavens for this TH-camr and his ilk who make up for the penny-pinching manufacturers, like LG in this case. Well done.

Did you have a hard time peeling it off? Mine is pretty stuck and I’m afraid I might damage it

Hi Steve, if you've covered this elsewhere please point me in the right direction, but can I set-up my LG TV to view the picture folders on my home PC? They're both on the same Wi-Fi network, so I imagine there could be a way for them to talk to each other. Cheers.

Steve, that is a great video with so many things I never knew. I recently bought an LG - 43UQ8000AUB which has the same exact remote control. I have the NFC Tag on my remote just like yours and my TV and IPhone 8C are both on the same wireless network. When I hold my IPhone over the NFC Tag, nothing happens. Is there anything else I should try?

Thank you for the video. Is there anyway I can stop the pointer from wiggling and have it like the old remotes.

Thanks this was great! We just bought my Uncle a 32” Lg for his nursing home room. The LG Channels seem to be overriding the basic cable connection/channel line up. They’re great but it’s confusing my 76 year old uncle.
The nursing home has a basic coaxial cable connection. I’m having difficulty getting the cable What am I Missing? Any tips?

Great content. Question. When I hit the guide button on the left hand side in Orange it says IP- and then numbers which I'm assuming is channels what exactly are those and can they be removed?
