Minus the vidya, Haida basically has it figured out. You can work hard, pick a cheapo place away from the city, buy food and water cheap, and prep for things that actually worth your time.

I was always rooting for Haida and restsuko to get together but I don't like the way they portrayed it in the show honestly. I wish they would take the route of. Him deciding to pursue a relationship with Inaba Back in season 3 and over time getting to like her as a person the more he got to know her. And the karaoke scene with Restsuko would go in the direction of him wanting to be their as a friend instead of the dating app thing and it would be brought on by Inaba in an effort to comfort him after restsukos attack by her stalker and telling him he needs to be their to comfort and support her she restuko would press charges and their would be a trial where she see the stalker for what he really is and would show him that shes not afraid of him with Haida OTM Girls and the band manager as witnesses of course there would be an scene with Haida and Inaba at the OTM girls concert.
And the conflict in season 4. He would being in a relationship with Inaba in place of restsuko, And the conflict would surround him grappling with his insecurities. Resulting in him putting everything into his current relationship to reach his dream of getting married and having a happy family. But though he really does like inaba and sees a future with her. that Dream He wants to work towards is More about what he wants for himself than what he wants for his partner and is based in his with issues with self-confidence low key low self-esteem In regards to feelings of inadequacy in regards to his place in the world, not yet having the life he wants, no achieving the dreams he one had, and to justify him giving up on perusing restsuko eventually, doubling down on wanting to make that a reality leading To him putting all his eggs in one basket, i.e. His new position is head of the Accounting department and his relationship with inaba But he is moving to fast in his relationship and his insecurty driven action are becoming more noticeable in their relationship Haida see her noticing and continues to double down in his attempt to inshore the relationship doesn't fail but he only further pushes her toward that conclusion meanwhile inada is trying to go about how to let him down gently but after Haida has a talk with restsuko he finds her take her to karaoke and tells her he saw the breakup coming and did everything in his power to prevent it but comes to except it in a punk power balled where he admits to her and himself that though he want to have a happy life with her relationship he admits to both her and himself that hes not ready emotionally for that kind of commitment just yet, and that he has a lot of soul searching and growing up to do before then and wishes her the best and the rest of the season plays out but this time hes single from that point on
And the fifth season where he'd become Becomes homeless and the season continues as usual but in place of the political campaign arc. He he becomes so desperate he finds employment at a black company (basically a white collar sweat shop) and theirs a point were he ruminates on the fact that if his friends hadn't of convinced him to do the right thing him wanting to Stay the new head of the accounting department, his unavoidable breakup with inaba possibly embittering him making him put all his time and energy into work, and his willingness to follow Himaro and continue to be his right hand man would have eventually lead to carry man trading becoming a black company slowly overtime so he feels in a way like his employment his terrible new job is a kind of karmic punishment as well as him feeling like how hes the only one who has to dig himself out of the hole hes in and that he cant drag anyone else with him It could be a really good Rumination on the dangers of black companies In Japan, the issue surrounding Homelessness and Societal expectation that Japanese men are supposed to be self-sufficient and self-reliant. And the relationship between him and his father could show the disconnect between the earlier generations and the youth in a better way then the show did and just how out of touch his father is with the plight of people in Japan going through the same thing and as time goes on Haida begins to adopt shikabana's (the skunk girls) more Nihilistic and pessimistic worldview. But his friends find out his situation and help him he quiets his soul crushing job by punching a Resignation form brighten to his evil boss's face. Sending him flying and knocking out cold. And he takes shikabane to karaoke with restsuko and dose a Does a death metal punk rock power anthem duet about how she can't give up and she should want more out of life. and the roots of there relationship as friends and eventually a couple can grow and develop from there. Then Haida becomes roommates with the lead singer of the band he was playing in. Works on becoming an I.T technician and programmer working at the market with the three work moms for the time being and finds employment an agency and finding his way back to carry man trading as a Freelancer. And we could have far more seasons from there I see a lot more potential for storytelling if we were to take this approach.
