probably because the guy doing the ordering saw "car" in a racing series and said "kids will probably want that more than some dumb spaceship" exclusive ordering is usually done by people who know nothing of the pop culture value of the things they're ordering

You're telling me Burnout, a BRAND NEW mold, was going to be the least sought after figure when Hauler, a 5th version of a mold, is sitting right next to her? Edit: I was thinking of Override, not Burnout. Do want to give it a shout out tho because I think Burnout is the best colors for that mold.
@@TheLazyEyebrow Most of the Cosmos inventory went to retailers in Europe to sit and rot. Who knows why. It was basically a major blunder and Hasbro did not seem to make any efforts to fix it, because they love to pack chasers in US case packs.
I love that they fit Cosmos into the Velocitron theme by making him the flagman because it brings to mind him, Lakitu and Ristar talking about the stuff they've seen on the track.
As far as my wallet is immediately concerned there is no such thing as a Cosmos ever released in Transformers Legacy, this a proof of concept, KO, or custom prototype, and the last official Cosmos was back in Titan Return 2016 which is the best update of Cosmos. OR Cosmos always retailed for $75 and $25 is just the flash discount price.
Fun fact, this was originally going to be a retool of orgins bumblebee, but they decided to make him his own mold with some of bees parts. The hips for instance are the same I believe.
I'm happy to say that I got him back then, though I was lucky to have gotten to that lonesome walmart to nab it straight from the case. I never even saw him on the shelf proper. They really gotta reissue him at some point. No doubt about it
While I'm still a bigger fan of the legends class one from TR I gotta say i was pleasantly surprised by this guy I only grabbed him because I knew I'd never get him again and I'm happy I did cause he was so fun and the flag is such a cool little accessory even if it's got some issues

This guy is great and really grew on me the more I had him. In this UK he was pretty free flowing, no actual shortage but he also didn't stick around and end up getting discounted eather.
Love the look of this figure, so sad that he's stuck as an exclusive that Walmart doesn't want to sell more of right now. He's really impressive for what he is; he was originally going to be a retool of Origins Bumblebee with just a new head, chest, and cockpit section, but the designers got creative enough to make an entire new toy out of just the new molds a retool would get. Really hope Cosmos gets another print run once the store exclusivity expires.

Cosmos was a hard to find robot in my city but it was a blessing to find him in unexpected Walmart on a Sunday morning. He is a rare treasure and forever in my collection.
I managed to get cosmos pretty much the day of his release in stores, and he's pretty great, I love cosmos so much and it's worth the retail price, but much more than that, I don't think he's worth it. Great review!
I got this guy last Summer and he's still one of my favourites from Legacy. I still can't believe how the designers made a whole new figure despite only having 3 plastic sprues for a retool, and he's just such a fun little guy to pick up and play with. Just a shame that so many can't get him.

I lucked out and found this guy a few months after release on a trip to get house paint. It was at a walmart in a larger town which was surprising since I'd tried a few small town walmarts which aren't picked over as much with no luck at all. I pretty much gave up hope of seeing one at all and I must have been at the right place at the right time. Here's hoping everyone who wanted Cosmos managed to find one!

I don't collect G1 characters but I knew I just had to get this guy when it was announced. It's my absolute favorite toy in my display. I don't even know who Cosmos was before I bought him 😂
Yeah, I lucked out with Walmart Canada as well. Considering I almost wasn't going to buy it in the first place (the alt mode proportions were bothering me quite a bit), I'm glad I stuck with it. I really think Cosmos is a real joy, and was one of my favourites from 2022 as a whole (I don't buy a lot of figures, so...). I really hope that there is a re-release down the road for the folks that missed out!

I was just glad i randomly saw it when I did...I live in Fort Worth, TX which of course never saw it in the area, I was on a weeklong work trip to Maine and went to the wally world close to my hotel one day, saw it and grabbed it immediately. There is one currently in one of the vintage toy shops near me in box for 60-plus.

Man, I'm so glad I have this guy. He was never on my rader, as I was pretty satisfied with the Titans Return toy, but i stumbled across a few of them at a Walmart while i was visiting family in a small town. I had no idea that he was rare since I hadn't been looking for him, but decided to get him just to satisfy my plastic craving. He quickly became one of my favorites of the year, and I was shocked when I later learned he was super hard to find and am so glad I got him at retail price.

After canvassing every Walmart between my job and my home for a month, I found ONE figure at the one near my house! I haven't seen him in store or even on Hasbro Pulse since!
Literary can't tell you how many times atvwent to my local Walmarts while they were getting ready to do a huge fresh restock in the toy aisles and eventually they finally stocked the Velociteon line at my closest Walmart and I walked out with the whole Velocitron line including the only Cosmos that Walmart ever had and I can definitely say the early bird does catch the worm . now with wave 2 , I was able to pre order Galaxy Shuttle and picked the last two deluxes overtime .

I don’t think so. Checked the wiki and it doesn’t seem like T30/TR Cosmos was designed with IDW in mind. I’m talking about the big chonky Cosmos design from MTMTE and the comic formerly known as Robots in Disguise 2012.
It was especially rough in Australia, the store that got the exclusive rights only bought one deluxe box per store, with only a few of the larger stores getting more later.
I know how hard it was to find this Figure I only found One at My Local Walmart and I gave it to My Buddy Hobbies with Jose and He Made an Amazing Custom with it
Great review dude! It never dawned on me that the molded squares in the front were meant to be yellow ala the G1 toy, lol. Crazy! Was there ever any thought to get 3rd party arm fillers? Or maybe even designing and printing your own? They really do complete the bot mode. 👍🏼

The thing I find funny about the whole scarcity issue surrounding Cosmos, is that he shelf warmed over here in the UK. I saw a Cosmos last month in a store on clearance.
Each Walmart near me only got 1 case of deluxe and leader figures. Unlimited voyagers though. The only figure I cared about enough to want was Cosmos. I spent a quarter of a year wasted searching for this thing in stores. As far as I’m aware, this is an exclusive figure only available through transformers reviewers and eBay. I don’t understand why hasbro would make one figure of this line, especially the most desired figure only on eBay, while the others were regularly available at Walmart. It really annoys me that Hasbro wouldn’t be honest about the price of this figure. Clearly all the new parts made them have to put it closer to 3rd party price. My honest recommendation is to keep figures that people want in the mainline, unless the store will get regular shipments.
I wish the knuckle guns had blast affect compatibility. At least with your drilling solution you can insert a 3 mm peg and make it so. Should you decide to.
I hate how bumblebee and cosmos are both hard to get while the other mini bots are relatively easy to get. Cliffjumper got two releases, huffer’s still available in some places, beach comber and brawn are pre orders, and warpath seemed to be praised by everyone so I assume everyone had one. Then you get the most popular minibot (bumblebee) and he’s a Walmart exclusive who can’t be sold anywhere else with no reissue, and cosmos is another Walmart accessory with again no reissue
Bumblebee is especially frustrating because they _have_ re-used the Volkswagon mold since then, so I can only assume that the store exclusivity is over now - they made a Goldbug which is just Bee with a new head and deco, but then for some reason they only released it as part of an expensive multipack with a bunch of minor redecoes that I don't think most people would care about. They just refuse to make more easily available for some reason and it's annoying
The sad part is getting a modern sports car version (using the Cliffjumper body mold instead) instead of VW version isn't any easier because that was only a Target exclusive, in a four pack.
@@prismavoid3764 if I remember right, the exclusivity of a character only applies to that character and not the mold itself. That’s why prowl hasn’t seen a reissue until ss86 (and that’s another thing I hate about Tf). If Prowl’s entire mold had stayed exclusive, then Walgreens wouldn’t have gotten blue streak for example. My point is Goldbug might be considered a different character, and the VW mold is now exclusive to specific retailers no matter which version of “bumblebee” you want
@@SwiftpawWolffox I actually got that figure loose. I was content with it and actually preferred it to the beetle. Then one of the arm pieces broke off right at the transformation joint. Ended up getting the beatle on eBay for a pretty decent price but I know that’s rare for many
Hopefully they keep it up with the minibots. I want a better Swerve (since there were leaks of a Legacy Gears which shares a body design with swerve) and Tailgate.

I don't mind the faux part head situation. It is the same subassembly and the pop-up mechanism never quite works as well as you want and sacrifices articulation. Would love to get this guy even though I have Xtransbot's Klaatu but I'm not paying that kind of money. Really hope he gets a reissue.
I actually found a cosmos in stores luckily enough. However I traded him for a Netflix Bee. Do I regret it? I don’t know. I’m not a cosmos fan boy, and if I were to get one it would probably be the T30, but part of me also wants the legacy one to have him scale with the others and to experience the mold.
What’s your thoughts on the studio series 86 arcee do you plan to do a review of her or even pick her up I will say she’s a somewhat better version than the thrilling 30s/legends mold just for the fact she has more Posability than the previous version and is more stop motion friendly(my opinion and limited knowledge of stop motion animation)
The faux part on the vehicle mode isn't really an issue because it's so abstract. It's not like Earthrise Runamuck or Kingdom Mirage where there's obviously a large chunk of the vehicle mode duplicated.
The differences between this figure and the thrilling 30 version the Legacy version is bigger and has a gun and a flag and it's more accurate to the cartoon the thrilling 30 version is smaller and has a more Dynamic design which one do you prefer?
This was one time I was glad to be a Transformers collector in the UK. Smyths over here were smart enough to order solid cases of Veloctron toys, so Cosmos was plentiful. So much so he ever went on clearance.

Say, where did you find good armature rigging for your figures? I’ve not had good success finding why I’m looking for. My kids and I do some stop motion too, but have been using subpar hardware and things I’ve fashioned myself. If you have a good suggestion I’d much appreciate it!!

I don’t think so. Checked the wiki and it doesn’t seem like T30/TR Cosmos was designed with IDW in mind. I’m talking about the big chonky Cosmos design from MTMTE and the comic formerly known as Robots in Disguise 2012.
It was especially rough in Australia, the store that got the exclusive rights only bought one deluxe box per store, with only a few of the larger stores getting more later.

Great review dude! It never dawned on me that the molded squares in the front were meant to be yellow ala the G1 toy, lol. Crazy! Was there ever any thought to get 3rd party arm fillers? Or maybe even designing and printing your own? They really do complete the bot mode. 👍🏼

The Smyths toys in my area had no issues with cosmos, there was so many that he was reduced in price so I was able to get one

The thing I find funny about the whole scarcity issue surrounding Cosmos, is that he shelf warmed over here in the UK. I saw a Cosmos last month in a store on clearance.

Each Walmart near me only got 1 case of deluxe and leader figures. Unlimited voyagers though. The only figure I cared about enough to want was Cosmos. I spent a quarter of a year wasted searching for this thing in stores. As far as I’m aware, this is an exclusive figure only available through transformers reviewers and eBay. I don’t understand why hasbro would make one figure of this line, especially the most desired figure only on eBay, while the others were regularly available at Walmart. It really annoys me that Hasbro wouldn’t be honest about the price of this figure. Clearly all the new parts made them have to put it closer to 3rd party price. My honest recommendation is to keep figures that people want in the mainline, unless the store will get regular shipments.
I wish the knuckle guns had blast affect compatibility. At least with your drilling solution you can insert a 3 mm peg and make it so. Should you decide to.
I hate how bumblebee and cosmos are both hard to get while the other mini bots are relatively easy to get. Cliffjumper got two releases, huffer’s still available in some places, beach comber and brawn are pre orders, and warpath seemed to be praised by everyone so I assume everyone had one. Then you get the most popular minibot (bumblebee) and he’s a Walmart exclusive who can’t be sold anywhere else with no reissue, and cosmos is another Walmart accessory with again no reissue
Bumblebee is especially frustrating because they _have_ re-used the Volkswagon mold since then, so I can only assume that the store exclusivity is over now - they made a Goldbug which is just Bee with a new head and deco, but then for some reason they only released it as part of an expensive multipack with a bunch of minor redecoes that I don't think most people would care about. They just refuse to make more easily available for some reason and it's annoying
The sad part is getting a modern sports car version (using the Cliffjumper body mold instead) instead of VW version isn't any easier because that was only a Target exclusive, in a four pack.
@@prismavoid3764 if I remember right, the exclusivity of a character only applies to that character and not the mold itself. That’s why prowl hasn’t seen a reissue until ss86 (and that’s another thing I hate about Tf). If Prowl’s entire mold had stayed exclusive, then Walgreens wouldn’t have gotten blue streak for example. My point is Goldbug might be considered a different character, and the VW mold is now exclusive to specific retailers no matter which version of “bumblebee” you want
@@SwiftpawWolffox I actually got that figure loose. I was content with it and actually preferred it to the beetle. Then one of the arm pieces broke off right at the transformation joint. Ended up getting the beatle on eBay for a pretty decent price but I know that’s rare for many

I don't mind the faux part head situation. It is the same subassembly and the pop-up mechanism never quite works as well as you want and sacrifices articulation.
Would love to get this guy even though I have Xtransbot's Klaatu but I'm not paying that kind of money. Really hope he gets a reissue.
I actually found a cosmos in stores luckily enough. However I traded him for a Netflix Bee. Do I regret it? I don’t know. I’m not a cosmos fan boy, and if I were to get one it would probably be the T30, but part of me also wants the legacy one to have him scale with the others and to experience the mold.

What’s your thoughts on the studio series 86 arcee do you plan to do a review of her or even pick her up I will say she’s a somewhat better version than the thrilling 30s/legends mold just for the fact she has more Posability than the previous version and is more stop motion friendly(my opinion and limited knowledge of stop motion animation)
Not to mention Omega Supreme, he's a space faring autobot as well, when it comes to size comparison.
The faux part on the vehicle mode isn't really an issue because it's so abstract. It's not like Earthrise Runamuck or Kingdom Mirage where there's obviously a large chunk of the vehicle mode duplicated.
The differences between this figure and the thrilling 30 version the Legacy version is bigger and has a gun and a flag and it's more accurate to the cartoon the thrilling 30 version is smaller and has a more Dynamic design which one do you prefer?
This was one time I was glad to be a Transformers collector in the UK. Smyths over here were smart enough to order solid cases of Veloctron toys, so Cosmos was plentiful. So much so he ever went on clearance.

Say, where did you find good armature rigging for your figures? I’ve not had good success finding why I’m looking for. My kids and I do some stop motion too, but have been using subpar hardware and things I’ve fashioned myself.
