The one thing that i love about procreate (or drawing on ipad in general) is the finger gesture.. you can just tap two fingers on the screen for undo, swipe back and forth three fingers to clear the layer, etc.
Thanks for your review and sharing your process! It helped me with making my desicions. In terms of the question you ask in your video title what i think is that one probably has to ask themselves whether the restictions that the ipad has are ones that are actually going to restrict your process. Some limitations you mentioned for photoshop however could be easily solved with customisation :) Eg. Changing the short cut ctrl+z to either a different(single) key on your keyboard or to map one of your pen buttons to that function! Maybe a trying out a different drawingsoftware would mabye help your workflow as well (in terms of blures and gradient tools. looking at clip studio or even the open source krita etc. (also might be a lot cheaper by far ;D.) or even for those functions that you are unhappy with, you could try looking into how others use these functions in photoshop... it might even be possible to set a personalised shortcut to get to them, so that you wont have to press loads of buttons and menus! And lastly the lag you experience in photoshop is probably due to your computer or laptop not having enough ram or a gpu / cpu that isn't equipped with dealing the amount of data it has to process! The ipad has the specs to deal with textured brushes and blures or filters, thats why it doesn't lag as much :) If possible it might be good to see whether your pc etc. is able to upgrade those components or to invest in a better one sometime in the future 😊 Have a great day :D
I loved the tips and your review. I’m just getting into digital art and I’ve been contemplating which tool to get. Seems like I’ll be sticking to the iPad, plus that insert reference photo on procreate is fascinating.🤩 it’s got me drooling.
I've been using a graphic tablet since ever but I like how you can take the ipad with you to anywhere and keep illustrating. What ipad are you using? :) Capacity...
This review was just what I needed, thank you so much! I will probably go with the I-pad, I just have to decide which one I buy and whether new or used 🤯
I also have an ipad and I recommend getting a matt screen protector, i use paperlike wich i think is the safest option and i think it really help. Its just a better feal and your screen dosent get dirty, but after a while of use there will be scraches from drawing and you will have to change it
Hi! What is the function of the glove you are wearing on your right hand--does it help the screens not get triggered by your palm? I could see that happening to me. Thank you for this helpful video.
If you’ve started a drawing in photoshop on the base layer, and you haven’t gone too far, you can duplicate it and continue on the duplicated layer. Just saying😊
Hello Nefelina! I am currently using a cintiq 22, and am considering getting an iPad. How comfortable is the iPad for about an hour? It would be cool to do art on my lunch hour during the week.
It's super comfortable! I love it for travelling and drawing when I am out or even in bed before I go to sleep. I'm on travels now and thankfully I have my ipad so I can still make some digital art. PS I have rebranded and have changed my name.
you dont necessarily need an ipad for digital work, great for drawing out of the house and showing people art at the moment, but I'd rather get a tablet even though it means drawing at home. i have sketchbooks for drawing outside lol (and ugh photoshop lol, i never used it for drawing, only for photo editing and graphic design work, so it seems clumsy for making art to me no matter what I use it on)
Usually clipstudio or corel painter, if I need to do vector art I would use illustrator of affinity design. I have way too many programs I still need to use, like rebelle for watercolour and blender for 3D work
I use affinity photo for digital art with Cintiq 13. I trying out clipstudio paint but the interface feels cluttered from what I'm used to. Great video!
the points you make about Procreate are really just your lack of information (which is completely ok, I have no idea how Photoshop works and I want to learn : ) ), you're missing a lot by not using Procreate correctly
My man, you upgraded everything about your setup but you are still sat on a steel lawn chair! Please for the love of god, go to an office supply store and sit on some nice ergo office chairs. 150-200 at your local office store is about equal to the 800-$1400 "GaMeR L337 GiGa BrAnD" chairs online. Oh, and make a youtube video about it!
@@penny9207 i got an ipad pro and a wacom cintiq pro 24 non touch and after using an apple pencil 2 on adobe fresco i am impressed but sad and depressed too it doesnt work on windows it woulsve been fantastic to use with a wacom cintiq pro 24. The ipad is amazing tho

you've one of the sweetest voice i've ever heard!
I was literally looking for a new drawing tablet a minute ago, what an awesome timing! Thanks :)
Your very welcome.

Haha. That feature is very cool! So happy you liked the video. Hope you are enjoying the Ipad.
For a lower spec computer i reccomend clip studio paint, its made for drawing and is much better about RAM so itll be way faster than photoshop
I wanna get the same exact wacom cintiq

The Ipad is 12.9-inch iPad Pro 128GB

Excellent job displaying the differences.
Thank you so much. 😊
muchas gracias por la explicación, muy buena.
another way of making gradient is using the gaussian blur and it is quicker.
Thanks for the tip. 😉
do u make landscape digital paintings, if yes...please make tutorial on that
Thanks for your insights, I got the new 11 inch iPad Pro for drawing. What's your opinion on matt screen protectors to get the paper like feeling?

That and it's also to keep your grubby mitts from tainting the glass.

I also have both but I really like the grfiktablet more idk
Some people do. RossDraws only uses his Cintiq for videos. All the rest of his art is done on a graphics tablet.
I'm really loving your videos! I'm considering the Cintiq 24 but I read that it has fans. Do you find them loud or annoying?
@@penny9207 Thank you!

My setup is Clipstudio on the iPad and Clipstudio on the computer. You can work interchangeably.
I use affinity photo for digital art with Cintiq 13. I trying out clipstudio paint but the interface feels cluttered from what I'm used to. Great video!
Which is best for designers?
It depends what kind of designers. Many designers can get away with even a graphics tablet if they don't really do any freehand drawing.
Thanks Sis. very informative and useful.
Thank you so much. You'r so welcome.
