    You've convinced me to order one today! I used to rock the older Cintiq 24HD and as much as I loved it -- for 10 years -- the colors and contrast were still off. I am looking forward to the color calibration, brightness, and contrast of the new Pro 24. I just wish it also came with the Wacom stand like the older Cintiq 24HD. Thanks for sharing this review! Awesome artwork and you chose the right art for the TH-cam video cover art! It was eye catchy in colors and design!

    So it should pay off pretty quickly when working in the industry. My last tablet is getting a little old now and this is the logical next step. Commissions have always paid for it anyway in pretty short time. Great review and I think the arm is also worth the extra cost.

    I returned mine today because of the fan noise, It was at 35 brightness and contrast. I did love the tablet and believe it had the best drawing experience. I'm hoping to purchase it again after the fan issue gets resolved. Glad you had a better experience.

    • @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns
      @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, that's really strange. When did you buy yours? I got early April. Maybe I got one after the issue had been addressed? Because my fan is barely on.

    • @aricornejo
      @aricornejo 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got mine early April too through Amazon. Some people have said that the fan issue can be fixed through firmware. My return eligibility was about to end so I returned it. It was the hardest thing I had to do. Summer is about to kick in and those fans will go crazy because of the heat. I hope the firmware update will allow the fans to always stay on at a quiet speed this way they don't allow the monitor to get hot after fan inactivity.

    • @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns
      @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I did notice that when I installed the drivers, there were a couple of different firmware updates that it ran me through. Maybe I got mine JUST after they had fixed this with the firmware update?

    So did Wacom give you that device to say it the best device you ever used?

    • @codec6979
      @codec6979 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They gave him the device, but said nothing what is he meant to say probably. Unlike him, I don't agree that it's worth as much as they charge. It's definitely overpriced, but it being the best 24" display tablet is a fact, so him saying that probably isn't paid for.

  • @UKR636
    @UKR636 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Glad you love the display. I purchased the 32” Cintiq Touch (DTH3220) in March 2019. I previously owned the 24” and loved using it for the ten years I had it. Tragically after six months with the new 32” Cintiq, I started to see what looked like pixelation or fixed pattern noise that covered about 1/3 of the screen. I sent the display to Wacom and pleaded with them to replace it. Instead I was told they would repair it with a “refurbished display”. Needless to say I was not impressed with my brand new display getting a used part. Fast forward to April 2021 and I have again sent my display back to Wacom for the exact same issue! Anyway I hope you don’t have any issues, but I’d be curious to know if you do.

    Nice review and nice art. :D I have the Pen and Touch 24 and Ergo stand pre-ordered, though it shows they may ship a month apart. I think the stand as you put it, is SUCH an integral part of the device.

      @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I should go preorder the stand - I just hope they don't keep us waiting a year like for the Mobile Studio Pro stand

    • @jenskellersmann
      @jenskellersmann 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, sorry about that. We had do solve some manufacturing issues to make sure the product will be 100% Wacom quality before we ship. As for the stand: When we are looking into the "attachment rate" (sold stands vs. sold Cintiq Pro units), it seems that a majority of customers either use no stand at all or a different stand (e.g. flex arms). That is why we decided to rather improve the product, leave out the stand but keep pretty much the same price point. :-)

    @Brian Allen, why did you go with the 24" and not the 32"? Do you think, if you had the 32",you'd like it better? I just pulled the trigger on this 24" model with touch, used on eBay. Wacom is the seller, so they have guaranteed that it is in good working order. I also went onto Amazon and purchased the stand and the remote as it doesn't come with the used Cintiq. All three items should arrive this week.

    WOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAH WOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAH WOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAH.... NOW THAT'S WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF!!! I just wish that the price was as friendly as the tablet! I'm about ready for throwing my Wacom Intuos through the window, a few month's old but it just wont hold it's driver and keep a grasp of it! Every time, I use it the cursor lags BIG TIME... I've tried everything to rectify these problems but it's just the same!

    the reviews keep talking about dead pixels and how they need to return their products over and over and how the quality is lacking in these new devices.
    Have you ever encountered these problems?
    btw did you get to output the maximum resolution? having an older laptop i wonder if its worth the trouble or i could get for example an older qhd one
    now that they are cheaper too

    Hi, I had a Second hand Wacom Cintiq 24HD for 3 years, now its bricked and I cant afford to fix/replace it. Looking to XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro or Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 to replace it.
    Looking for honest dirt and grit experienced opinions.
    I've watched plenty of video reviews on TH-cam and Amazon reviews but some feel sponsored or old reviews.
    I would love to hear all the positives and negatives you've encountered
    Thank You.

    Hi!
    I am looking into some reviews about the 24 inch and 32 inch, I currently have 13 inch, but I feel like the size of the screen is giving me eyestrain. I have a PC monitor that is 27inch and I have no such issue, I wanted to ask if 24 inch is giving you any eyestrain? I usually get eyestrain after 1 hour of work, my vision is fine and I don't wear any glasses, but this cintiq I have is really hindering me in my work.

  • @amdenis
    @amdenis 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Beautiful, absolutely amazing work.
    A little aside. I love photography and video and VFX production, which I’ve done since the late ‘90’s. However, I want to explore becoming more artistically creative/expressive in the area of electronic illustration and such. My employees chipped in and purchased a Cintiq 24 for me last year, which up till now I’ve only been using for photo retoutching and VFX.
    Do you have any recommendation in terms of training resources and specific skills development process- or any other recommendations. My dad was an amazing illustrator, and was really into fine arts and sculpting, which was so motivating to see what he could do. I am at maybe 1.5 out of 10 in terms of those skills, as I’ve focused on other things until now. Any input is much appreciated, as you creative abilities just blow me away.

    Hi Brian, Great Review. I had to return mine for dead pixels and decided to wait for the touch version (releasing this week supposedly)... But what I really want to know is your mapping on your Orbweaver Keypad. I've got the Chroma version and have a mapping and would love to compare notes... Maybe you can post a video on your workflow with the keypad?

    Did you have a chance to use the Pro Touch? How come you didn't purchase a Touch?

    • @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns
      @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think I responded to this in the review: The touch is not available yet, but even if it were, I wouldn't have gotten it. I think the touch is a distraction, and it's not worth the extra price. The Touch also didn't work well with the 27QHD, and many artists just turned it off, so I didn't want to take that risk.

    What is the difference between the Cintiq Pro, 24 and Cintiq Pro, 24 touch? Is the more expensive one worth it?

    • @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns
      @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Cintiq Pro 24" Touch is not out yet as far as I know. The only difference is that it has touch input, which I'm not really a fan of, so I didn't need it. If you are talking about the older Cintiq 24" touch, or the Cintiq 27QHD touch, the differences are mostly in the increased resolution, screen brightness, color accuracy, increased pressure sensitivity and reduced parallax.

    Great review! I have a couple questions:
    1. Do you use the Wacom stand, or an Ergo arm with the tablet and how do you like using it? I have the 22HD since 2013, and one thing that keeps me from upgrading is having to buy a separate stand, that may not lay the tablet down flat.
    2. Do you find the Express Key Remote awkward to use as compared to built in buttons on older Cintiq models?

    I'm curious about the long term effect of the screen grit vs the Pro Pen 2 nibs. With my Mobile Studio Pro 13 I ended up having to buy the "smooth" screen protector and replace the gritty one with that because the default screen surface was actually eating up the nibs so fast that I would have to replace one with a new one after only a few days! At the price the nibs were selling for on Wacom's website (after shipping costs) I realized that this was totally untenable for an independent artist such as myself.
    Have you come across this issue at all with the Cintiq Pro 24?

    • @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns
      @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Every few days? That's nuts! Well, I've had it for a month and haven't had to change the nib. Maybe they fixed that issue with better nibs or a different screen? The texture feels similar to my 24HD

    Wow! Love this. Great review. 👍I have a Wacom Intuos 4 (A3 size) for about 10 years now but I'd really like to upgrade to one of these. I also like to work on a large size tablet as if it were a real sheet of drawing paper. I use PC. Can this Cintiq be used with a PC?☘
    Ps. Your illustration is amazing.👍😲

    Thanks for the great review. I'm seriously looking in to one of these. I currently use the Cintiq 21UX with my Mac Pro Tower (the can). It should hook up directly to it right?

    So do you need a computer to hook this up to in order to use the tablet or no?

    Do you think it’s too big and heavy to carry about?

    • @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns
      @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it's not made to be portable. However, it's way lighter than its predecessor. So if you needed to take it to a hotel room or something, you could put it in a suitcase if you had to.

    Not the Touch version I know, but do you know if the buttons on what you call the pop-up application menu (which was introduced with the 27”QHD) can be touched/selected with the non-drawing hand while working with the pen?
    That feature alone might compel me to spend the extra $$$ for the Touch model.
    I’ve really liked using the remote, but the menu is so much more extensive, available and handy as you can label their function and visually reference the programmed operation rather than trying to remember the programmed functions on the remote.
    I have the 27”QHD and IMO the iPad Pro/Pencil is a better integrative art creation tool, but you’ve used both and consider this to be... can you explain why you feel that way?

    • @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns
      @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, no. When it says non-touch, it means that 100%. The only input it accepts is the pen. As far as why I prefer drawing with Wacom vs. iPad - it really comes down to how you are used to drawing. Some people like charcoals. Some people like pastels. A lot of it probably has to do with the bigger size of the Wacom too.

    The pro series is amazing, but dont get fooled by pressure sensitivity.
    It says the Pro pen 2 supports it, Ive tried Grip pen /the old one for wacom intuos pro/ on my cintiq pro 16, no difference at all.
    EDIT: I have tried it with "transfer" off, so it recognize only pressure sensitivity, no load in the paint.
    That way, you can see it, but its a very slight difference.

    • @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns
      @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure why you would come to that conclusion. I used the Cintiq 24HD for over 6 years, and then switched to the Cintiq Pro (shown in the video) - I immediately noticed a huge difference in pressure sensitivity.

    Is there a big difference between this Cintiq 24 and the HUION 22 pro 2019?

  • @ador.anomie82
    @ador.anomie82 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you determine/choose between the 24" and 32"? Is the 8" worth it? What do you really get when you pay $1300 for 8" of screen real-estate?

    • @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns
      @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For me personally, I was never interested in the 32" - it just seemed way too big. I thought that might actually become a distraction. So for me it was an easy choice because of the huge cost increase. I could see it being useful for an animator or someone who needs to have a lot of windows open on the screen, perhaps.

    Great Review Brian.. Makes me almost regret buying my cintiq 27QHD 2 months before wacom released this product.. Aside from the cintiq itself, I also love your desk. Been looking to source one just like it but haven't had much luck. Mind sharing its name , specs or any ideas as to where I can find one myself!! Thanks bud!!

    • @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns
      @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've heard the 27QHD is pretty good too, though. The desk is great, it's called SmartDesk, by a company called Autonomous. LOVE IT. And it was really cheap for a mechanized standing desk

    Thanks for the review. I'm thinking of upgrading to the new model. I have the old 21UX model and it doesn't take long for the screen to heat up. Since working with the 24" model, how hot does the screen get?

    • @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns
      @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't noticed any heat up - my 24HD also didn't heat up. I've never used the 21UX, so I don't know. Is that an older model?

    So you're not running 4k because of having to use the adapter rather than the USB-C?

    • @BrianAllen-flylanddesigns

      @SpearChuckUngawa 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      In some of the reviews of the 24" k4 Wacom I've watched say the resolution drops when it's not connected using USB-C. I'll try and find one...

    • @SpearChuckUngawa
      @SpearChuckUngawa 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is on the 16"...the dude says it right up front. Maybe on the 24" the res is high enough that when it drops by using the adapter it's still above 4k?

    does drawing slow deliberate lines (especially diagonal, and arcs) have jitter/wave? I need precision and no jitter for comic/line art work.
