That one officer makes me deeply upset. My boyfriend was abused by his last girlfriend. No one knew for a long time, and when they found out, they didn't really believe him. Anyone can be a victim of domestic violence, men, women, children, nbs, trans people, ANYONE.

    • @breestringham1063
      @breestringham1063 ปีที่แล้ว +355

    • @marylynnbirtciel5539
      @marylynnbirtciel5539 ปีที่แล้ว +35

In his defense, cops see a lot of domestic abuse and not being sure of the background he was probably suspicious of the crying and hysteria he saw. It's not unusual for an abused wife to say everything is fine when it clearly isn't. For the cop usually it's the wife being abused and not knowing what was going on prior to his arrival his gut was telling him to do what he could to stop the abuse. He didn't have enough evidence, even with the recording to know simply taking the woman's sister into custody would resolve the issue ( of the "fight).Besides, this wasn't a normal domestic abuse situation. The male fiancee was slapped by his almost sister-in-law, leaving some scratches behind. The female fiancee was crying as was her sister - although it was probably obvious both sister and male fiancee were angry, but female fiancee was distressed. Any video op had didn't include why the women were in this state, he wasn't there to record what was going on before he arrived. Therefore the cops still had an unknown situation on hand with an angry male stating he's going to bed while his fiancee is (apparently) crying historically. What would you do? Say " OK,well see you later "? I think anybody would want to be sure she's going to be alright.

So You okay with corruption, and criminal behaviour because some women are victims, .-. What a lame take.

    • @MadsFeierskov
      @MadsFeierskov ปีที่แล้ว +84

Obviously most men aren't going to be in serious physical danger from women, but some studies suggest that partner violence is almost split 50/50 and even though men could fight back, a lot of them won't, because they would never hurt a women, even if she's attacking him.
The cop basically trying to lay the blame on OP is nuts and it doesn't really make me want to call the cops if it ever happened to me, because all OP's fiance had to do was point the finger at him, and he would be fucked if it hadn't been for the recording.

There was one more update 4 days ago.
OP urged his brother to come clean to his wife. Apparently they are already in marriage counselling and he dropped it during that. She shrugged it off, and when OP asked her if she REALLY was okay with it, she admitted neither of them was squeaky clean, they both watch porn and she just considers that the same thing - unlike if he'd gone to a prostitute, to use the example OP used.
Re. Marty and Evelyn, he's still divorcing her but shes holding up the works by pleading for a reconciliation. He hasn't gone to Evelyn's work about her and the affair partner, nor has he told 'Jake's' wife about the affair - something OP disagrees with, though Marty stated that he's basically keeping all the evidence in the knowledge he could 'bury' Jake if he wanted to. Evelyn has moved back in with her parents, who are none too pleased with her OR Sarah, but the impending divorce has taken most of their focus off Sarah.
Sarah and OP aren't together. She's moved into her parent's place and is going to therapy to address her issues of insecurity resulting in deception in an attempt to please others, while OP tries to figure out which parts of her are genuine and which aren't. OP is prepared to drop out entirely if he figures that Sarah's issues are too big of a deal for him.

A sizeable percentage (30%-60%?) of married people cheat at some time during their time together. Most aren’t ‘rotten’ or ‘evil’ and there are far worse crimes in the world. It doesn’t have to result in the relationship ending, but of course the lying is likely to be the deal breaker, rather than the affair itself. Been on the receiving end of this as a guy. Anyone remember winter storm Jonas? It dumped almost 3 feet of snow on Washington DC. No travel except emergency was allowed. My wife at the time (now ex) was raised by mommy and daddy to believe that you're only a contributing member if society if you leave the house, bust your ass all day, then only return home to eat and sleep to do it all over again. Her job was canceled. Mine wasn't - I was active duty air force. The folks who had been working mission at NSA had already been there 2 going on 3 days. I was the closest available mission certified staff sergeant, so i got called in. My abusive wife lost her mind that I was leaving the house to work while she couldn't. Started a huge argument and when she realized she couldn't argue me out of going, got in between me and the door. I extremely gently moved her aside, opened the door saying I have to go, then turned around to step backwards into the deep snow so i could close the door behind me. BLAM - something struck me in the head. Before i could register what was happening, i then got shoved. She followed me outside howling and shrieking "how dare you fucking hit me! Get out!" I realized neighbors were watching, and who are they going to believe witnessing that unfold? They glared daggers at me and made nasty remarks at me, some even took their kids inside away from me as i walked to my car.
I called 911 and the operator dispatched police but had to be asked several times to stay on the line with me so i coukd narrate what was happening for record. They didn't want to stay on the line with me. My wife came outside, approached my car while on the phone with someone, then went back inside.
Cops finally arrive, all 3 swarm me and have me backed up against my car. After berating me with questions, they slowly realize I'm not the aggressor. The two senior cops leave the rookie with me while they go in to talk to my wife. I told the rookie i wish we were meeting under better circumstances. He told me I seem to be 1 of the "rare 3" in domestic violence situations. I asked what did he mean. He said it's so very rare they roll onto a domestic violence scene where one of the involved parties is alone, calm, and sober. I was all 3, alone in my car when they arrived, calm towards them, and sober.
After pressing, they got her to admit to hitting me, and we had to go to court months later. Still, nobody could tell the neighbors what happened, they'll forever remember me as the guy who hit his wife then called the cops on her, despite not knowing she hit and shoved me and I called the police for protection.

First Story and only story: Sarah is horrible to help cover up her sister's affair. I found it weird that OP called Sarah kind but like what Rslash said, a kind person doesn’t help cover up (and in a sense encourage) a 6 month affair. Also, the fact that Sarah is willing to cover up Evelyn's affair who is to say if Sarah decided to cheat on OP that Evelyn won’t help Sarah cover that up. OP needs to call off this wedding.
Update 1: At least OP's brother gave OP a valid point and gave context to why OP's reaction to Sarah's involvement was so strong. I hope OP enjoys that trip to Disneyland
Update 2: I’m glad OP is morally high to do all of this for Marty because no one deserves to get cheated on and anyone who tries to cover affairs are scummy people. I hope everything works out for OP
Upadate 3: Wow, OP, Marty, and Mark really planned out a whole operation just to catch Evelyn cheating and collect proof of it. To make it worse, Jake is also married and has a 1 year old. All these cheaters deserve each other
Update 4: Lmao Sarah was comforting Evelyn even though she got exactly what she deserves? Honestly, why is OP only calling off the wedding? OP should dump Sarah because of how untrustworthy she is
Update 5: Sarah really shouldn’t be shocked since who would want to be with someone that will help cover up cheating? That is showing how untrusting she is. I find it hilarious how Evelyn is furious with OP for helping Marty find out she was cheating on him but yet had her sister help her cover it up...the hypocrisy. She failed to be honest with the person she was engaged to marry. She purposely deceived him, as well, by verbalizing respect for her Bro-in-law, while disrespecting him AND her niece.
She didn't care about her sister, her significant other, her brother-in-law nor their child... she (Sarah) took the path of least personal harm... THAT is the issue at hand. So, the next update
Op called his brother and got him to explain the
girl, he was messaging (the brother is married btw) so he got that cleared up with Sarah.
Then Sarah gave op a letter which she slid under the door and it summarize as Sarah being a follower and minion to Evelyn ever since they was young and she never knew how to break out of that. Op didn't care, hey got into a fight and he told her something along the lines of being Evelyn fking minion which shut her down.
Sarah op and Sarah parents had a sit down about what to do since many marriages were destroyed. Op said he wants to sell the house and move as he wants nothing to do with either sister's, especially Sarah. Sarah shouted, " i'm not selling the house, and we're not broken up." She clearly wants to work on this and do better, but op is not budging.
He said he would sell the house, selling his Sarah as he didn't want to live with her.
    Next update 8/30
Sarah and op have talked about her people pleasing problems and understand she needs help majorly. She didnt deny anything and took full accountability for her actions and blame.
Evelyn is fighting the divorce hard, trying to talk with marty; her life is now like a teenager with a curfew, work then back home to parents. Both parents are disappointed with both daughter but more concerned about their granddaughter with evelyn n marty.
Marty is still going through the divorce and has the textz video etc of evelyn and jake. Op ask why havent u emded his life. Marty said i have all the evidence, i can destroy him anytime.
The brother who was cybering the hot bimbo onlyfan woman named Mandy is still with his wife as she forgave him and such. Apparently his hard time works and late night works is him hardcoring onlyfans with mandy.
Sarah is being paid back the share of the house so op can leave, she didnt accept this at 1st but come to terms with it as she cant stop this. So now both daughters are living with the parents. Op gotten some of the refunds from the wedding and the food was still good and frozen(fish meats) the parents gave them to interested parties and wedding gifts were returned.
Sarah and op wedding news became a hot thing in their housing area and such that it became like a talk of the town it drowned out evelyn cheating.
So thats the update, check out on his post, op explain it was deleted or had some troubles updating so he made new posts as updates with the date on them as titles.

    So there’s more updates
Basically OP talked to his brother about the whole OF thing and his bro admits that his relationship had hit a rough spot. They’re now going to therapy for it and it’s all good again so he rly doesn’t want OP to bring up the OF stuff.
At some point Sarah tells OP that their parents are coming over (she called them over without telling him) and they talk about the wedding. Her family wants him to forgive her and altho his family doesn’t fully agree with his choices they are still supportive.
During this time it also comes out that OP wants Sarah to move out and kinda wants to end the relationship, she blows up and says that she is NOT going to end/ give up on this relationship and that she refuses to leave and that’s she will work this out no matter what.
OP never says how he managed to clear up the whole OF situations with Sarah but he did and here’s where shit starts getting real.
He asks her why she did this and she admits that her sister had always been the leader and her the follower, her sister has been borderline abusive her whole life and to cope she has sort of developed a extreme people pleasing habit and a sort of mirror syndrome. She mirrors the people she talks to, like their personality and wants and needs and stuff. She’s gonna go to therapy (I think) and OP realizes that she was mostly just reflecting Evelyn’s bad personality and following her lead due to trauma BUT he also realizes that he doesn’t really know her.
He knows the reflection of himself and his wants and needs that she kind of became once they met, or at least that’s what he’s questioning right now.
It’s a whole thing and it was a while since I heard it last but she’s heartbroken, he’s questioning everything, Evelyn’s pissed at him , they’re out a bunch of money cus some services (like catering, even tho they hadn’t bought it made the food yet) REFUSED to give anything back.
There are full versions of the story on TH-cam, I think it’s usually called something like “my fiancé helped her sister cheat and I can’t marry her anymore”, “my fiancé helped her sister cheat” or “I broke my engagement to my fiancé because she helped her sister cheat” or something like that.

A lot has happened since then, including an insidious plot by Evelyn and her parents to accuse Marty of child abuse. Luckily for Marty, Sarah thwarted it by revealing the plot's details to the OP and Marty. Marty got his lawyer to have Sarah do a notarized statement with a recording, and with more evidence they dug up, needless to say, it put Evelyn into a deeper hole. Sadly, Sarah became a persona non grata to her family and had to live in a separate apartment although the OP made an offer to shelter her.
But the good news at least for now is that they are taking it slow to a possible reconciliation.

OP… Evelyn and Sarah have no one to blame but themselves for their actions. No one. They are adults, they made choices, and don’t deserve leniency simply because they don’t like consequences.
If you marry Sarah knowing full well that she believes cheating is ok, she will cheat on you one day, and when you catch her, she will say ‘well, you didn’t mind the last time, so why do you care now?’
When you let cheaters get away with it once, they will see it as fine to do again. And again. And again.

I hope OP reports that younger officer for his misconduct. He needs to learn that his own assumptions and prejudices don't justify making false arrests. OP didn't break any laws and yet the guy wanted to arrest OP... for what exactly? I wouldn't have spoken up, I would have asked the older officer to get his supervisor (by name) to come by and then when there, asked him (in front of the younger officer) if it's a new protocol for younger officers to fish for something that isn't there. Would have put the officer into a really cramped corner to have to explain his reasoning for digging around when there was nothing to suggest there was anything to dig for.

And yet just imagine the outrage all of you internet keyboard warriors would have had if that cop had just left leaving Sarah alone with a clearly angry man and then she got assaulted. You'd be ready to have him drawn and quartered for not doing his job. We know that was unlikely but he didn't. He has to make ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that she is safe. And it's not false arrest if no one gets arrested. The only person arrested was the sister that actually did the assault. Asking questions is not arrest. The cop may have been a bit indelicate but I applaud him for ensuring Sarah felt safe before leaving her there. Many cops wouldn't have bothered

@@wingracer1614 You're one of those people who love to stir shit that isn't there, aren't you? OP said that he had video evidence of what happened, neither of the two women disagreed with it, and obviously there was no history of DV at that location. So the young officer was probably thinking with the wrong head, possibly even something like "if I rescue the damsel in distress, maybe she'll 'reward' me!" Believe it or not, we guys think like that. Either that, or he was looking for a reason to prove that he's some sort of super cop who can sniff out crimes that people are trying to hide. The officer had NO reason to suspect that OP was a threat to anyone, especially when he didn't know the background for what had happened. OP was injured but neither of the women had marks on them from being assaulted. Neither of them tried to claim that OP assaulted either (or both) of them, or tried to offer a defense for the injuries to OP. The fact that OP said he recorded it and the women not demanding the video be viewed to see what "really" happened is also a major clue. Officer had numerous reasons to believe what he was told and no reason to believe something more was happening (ie, OP being a threat to Sarah).
So stop trying to act like you know how things would have been different "if." And stop trying to be Sarah's/Evelyn's savior, because the odds are, they aren't going to reward you with some hanky-panky. You're just an anonymous person on the internet and they'll likely never even know that you tried to be their hero.

If you have to deal with luring people day in and day out you change your mindset on people. I did agricultural quarantine inspections of passenger baggage for over 20 years. You get jaded fast. I had nuns point blank lie to me about smuggling prohibited fresh fruits. Here’s one from a former coworker. He had two nuns with their luggage conducting his inspection. While searching their baggage he asks them repeatedly if they had any prohibited fruits such as mangoes (they came from an area that had fruit flies not known in the mainland US). They replied that they understood and didn’t have anything like that in their luggage, and this was their hand carry baggage. He withdraws his hands with a mango in each exclaiming “Look sisters, a miracle!” Then issued them a civil penalty for the infraction.
OP was just as jaded being daily lied to in the course of his work. You just view people differently, the rose colored glasses are cracked and thrown away:

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... If you aren't happy in your marriage, talk to your spouse about it, and decide on counseling, divorce, or whatever from there. It makes no sense to cheat.
I think we can all agree that crushes happen between coworkers sometimes, when you spend lots of time together or if it's a stressful job. Bonds get formed and feelings emerge. That's why communication and openness are so important in a relationship. I'm sure I sound like a naive idealist, but I really believe in being open and honest when you're unhappy, hurt, or angered by something in your relationship. It isn't fair to your partner, or any kids you may have to destroy the trust and love like that.

His wife is handling it pretty well since there wasn't any physical or emotional cheating involved. Just a bump in the road. OP said he should have used ChatGPT if he really wanted cyber hugging.
OP is still communicating with Sarah, and is unsure of his future with her. Sarah is working on her emotional chameleon behavior, especially with the people pleasing, but it looks like the sister is very much a domineering force in her life and that's why she acted like she had.
OP is overall a flipping Chad, as he really did everything right, and is navigating all the social problems in his life excellently.

I didn't realise this video was 7 months old when i started watching it. I'm not sure how I missed it at the time.
I went to reddit to look for further updates. As of now, it was last updated in December.
Both sisters moved back to the parents' home. Marty and his daughter live with his parents, so he currently has primary custody, and his parents look after her when he is working.
Sarah is in counciling and has now moved into her own apartment.
Sarah approached OP and told him that she needed help gathering evidence on her sister and parents. In a bid to gain full custody of the child, they were going to accuse Marty of abuse to the child. Sarah was still living with them at the time and was worried they would take it on her if they found out she helped him. OP talked her into going to Marty and telling him their plans and speaking to his lawyer about it and signing a statement, which she did. Mary even let her spend time and play with his daughter.
A few weeks later, an emergency child custody hearing happened. OP didn't exactly clarify what they claimed he did, but he said it was vile what they accused him of. Sarah's signed and dated statement about what they were planning to do was dated before anybaccusarions were made. Mary got full custody, and she is only court supervised visits. It turns out that little girl had walked in on her and jake several times while they were in bed.
It's important to add that Marty is also a teacher. So not only could he have been tarred as a P word, but it would have ended his career as well!!
Thankfully, sarah, getting a backbone, saved him from false accusations.
Sarah and OP are in an "it's complicated" situation. His last update was from Australia in December. He took Sarah over to see his family and to spend the Christmas there. He doesn't think they will be getting back together, but they both seem to be healing. Her therapy has been helping her greatly. He thinks he is done with the idea of marriage, not just with Sarah but in general.
