Nice car you have there I owned a evo 3 gsr in 05 it was great, I moved on to later evos missed the lightness but the torque of the later cars made a big difference, back years ago it was said that the evo 2 had the strongest engine of the early cars.
@@reecelowe80 well you have the right engine to make power just be careful where you take it some of the big name evo specialists aren’t as good as they make out!
The Evo 1-3 are very compact, lightweight, nimble and quick cars because of the close ratio gearbox and quick-spooling small turbo. Mitsubishi released them for homologation as a replacement for the bigger,heavier Galant VR4s to campaign in the WRC. They did really well especially with Tommi Makinnen winning in an Evo 3. Such a cool platform. Not as techy and heavy as the newer 4-6 but really simple and fun.
Got to agree with you. I have had 1 and 5 and I loved the 1 more. It was just do small and mechanical. The 5 had more size which was alright for me at the time but I'm gutted I sold them both. They're worth loads now in Australia
I have a 475idh whp 1992 eagle talon. I have an evo 2 with a fuel pump, 19psi and an exhaust. The evo is in a completely different league. The evo 1-3 are very special. Mechanical diffs that work amazing, light weight, short gearing, and just an amazing chassis.

Yes the first three Evo models feel more raw and powerful than the later ones.
