    Randomly searching video for " Release in STAAD" and I found your this video (of course not realted with my search) then I watch your more videos and I must say you are teaching very well, so easy to understand for learners. Sir I have request that Please make a video of "How can I decide where to give Moment/force release for steel structure".

      Actually that's what we exactly teach in our Practical Professional course of 20 hrs, which is possible offline only.
      You need to actually understand path of forces by applying load with your finger on spring and foam models, and literally look at -
      Where is lateral torsional buckling effect,
      Where is Bending about minor axis,
      Where the support need to be fixed about 1 axis and fixed about other,
      where we need to provide shear connection where to provide moment connection...
      and so on😳🤷🏻‍♂

    What about when an I beam is welded at web only, Is the beam restrained to rotation about minor axis?
    Also how torsion is transferred in shear connection?

    hi , if partial of the beam is welded to the top of the column with plate ( like beam on top of column), so the web area is not welded only bottom flange where it sets upon the column .. does this connection with partial weldeing considerd as moment ?

      going in to the detail, when we say moment connection, we literally design for the moment exerted at that joint. We need to design plate thickness, we need to design weld size, length etc. It's not just for the sake of saying partial, but then it has to behave like that... I know that moment connection must take into consideration the weld size, bolt size, ... but my question is for that particular case ( when beam sets on top of column ) and only bottom flange is welded with plate and bolt to the column, is this considered a partially fixation for the beam that exerted the moment?

      Our EZ TRAININGS are too practical...
      We use so many Props, Models, Site Visits, Actual Project Reports/Dwgs etc. to explain in TOTAL PRACTICAL ways.
      As of now, participants from all over India, even some from out of India, travel to our place and undergo these Unique Trainings.
      We don't find it feasible to teach online that effectively. It is almost like learning "swimming" online...
      Still we are working hard on it to make Online TRAINING possible...but not sure..
      If we start that, we will surely inform you all..

    Superb! You should do Udemy.
    I have a question. In time 9:54, there you show a pinned connection, but seeing the photo it looks like the connection is damaged because of a bending load (or not?). The question is, if such a joint is subjected to a combination of shear and bending , does it mean we do not have to consider bending at all? Do not the bolts or the web fail if bending is significant? Thank you.

      That angle is slightly bend, but we have nothing to do with it. we need to focus here on location of fixing, I mean on web or flanges...

      YES u r right, simply supported = pinned = hinged = shear connection.
