    We have discussed in previous video about how to know a structure is having Shear Connection or moment Connections in STEEL STRUCTURE just by looking at it.
    If you don't know that just click on the link below: • Shear Connections, Mom...
    Now, Is it possible to make Fixed and Pinned Connection in RCC? Well to know the answer for the above question just Watch the video till the end.
    This video explains about the reinforcement detailing for Pinned or hinged connection is formed at site and also explains about fixed column beam junction.
    This video also give some idea about software versus basic concepts requirement in field. What is important in career of a structure engineer - software knowledge or Conceptual knowledge?
    How to become good structure Engineer? What to do after B.E. Civil?
    I would say, we need such conceptual knowledge to become Structure Engineer rather than only Software knowledge of STAAD Pro, ETABS, Tekla etc.
    We provide Practical Professional Structure Design Training with such Concepts with Excellent Placement help.

    Very well explained sir . What if we have a beam size of 600mm and 12mm dia bars at top. Does the development length (50 dia) remains same ?

    Sir why we need to allow pin connection in rcc beam to give deflection in beam and it is not good..?? infact we have fixed beam means full development length in column and its stronger also so why we need pinned conection by providing less ld lentgh..🤔 and does pinned conection in rcc is called shear conenection..??

    • @EZ-Structure.Design.Learning
      @EZ-Structure.Design.Learning  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      there may be many instances, like if the secondary beam is supported over primary beam, and if you fix it, it will develop torsion in primary beam. It's not good ...

      @aliqadri4672 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EZ-Structure.Design.Learning sir i dont know why you compare rcc concreat member with steel member either concreat is made for fixed moment and rigid conections ..as you say in case of secondary beam resting on primary beam with fix conection with full ld length is not good because it create torsion and band on primary beam deu to moment conection😞 so sir i think you forget that the secondary and tertiary beams in concreat is using wold wide with full ld lentgh conections and you also forget that the primary beam is much powerfull than secondary beam and the secondary beam is much power full than tertiary beam and the column is much powerfull then all the types of beam to resist lateral bending compresion bulking load etc and the footing is much powerfull than all the other members like beam column etc...((so sir your concept of not to providing fixed moment conection in column from rcc beam beacause column cant take moment load and its will fail beacause its not design to take moment of beam)) ...i dont like your concept because there is no engineer who provide less stronger column compare to beam wich column cant take moment ..reply plz

      I think even a well designed column can fail if a well designed ‘fixed’ beam support is overloaded by seismic up and down loading that transfers negative moments (in addition to other mixed forces in earthquakes) to the column which may cause it to catastrophically buckle and break. There is still a lot of debate with using pinned or fixed support systems in earthquake protection, reason why new techniques such as dampening and isolation of the foundations are being studied. Just my 2c.

      @@liboy9844 your concept is right but i think pin conection is good in steel frames but not in rcc beam and column is not good because it show's cracks in column beam joint and in earthquack the pinned conected beam cant tie and hold up the columns and go fail due to bulking ..?

    • @liboy9844
      @liboy9844 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@aliqadri4672
      Yes I agree with you 100% ...pin connections can be catastophic when applied to concrete (rcc) because they are brittle. Fixed or restrained is best for concrete in my opinion. Cheers.

  • @akhileshmadke6737
    @akhileshmadke6737 ปีที่แล้ว

    if you've designed it as pinned the beam will be stiffer to not bend and hence moment will not be transferred.
