hey man, love your videos. as a structural engineer, are you now used to doing all the calculations of members of a structure? are you able to determine whether a structure is a stable and durable just by taking a quick look by this point? im interested in structural work but im afraid if every work is always going to take a ton of effort and time. it's just so complicated for me since im just a student
Thank you! Like most things, it gets easier the more you practice. At the start everything can seem daunting because you have a lot to learn, but as you slowly learn things one by one, it becomes a lot quicker to complete similar tasks the next time around. Also, yes once you have a more trained eye you can identify whether a design will is ok pretty quickly. Hope this helps :)
I have a very important question to ask .. please reply... should I start my career in structural engineering or BIM?? which one will be worthy for future aspects??
I’m currently doing my bachelor degree in civl engineering final year I just want to upgrade myself to be industry ready but I think only the syllabus is not enough What should I do
Hi man can I ask a quick question I’m a civil student currently and I’m taking complex subjects next semester and I’m thinking since you are more experienced what textbook/s can I invest in that will help me to get a good step by step of calculation basically a civil pocket book that follows AS
@ see problem with that is they prescribe books that don’t contain a lot of the needed information for overall structural engineering, mostly just about the topics we will go thru and also they prescribe lots of books which is obviously really expensive, so I just need one that’s recommended by someone that has used it lots and got lots of knowledge from it
Seriously, you don't need that much gears at the beginning of your journey you must earn the neediness of iPad by understanding the core and concepts and when you are ready to goo it's the best way I think.😊
Hey im an undergraduate Civil engineer student, I bought my ipad 3 months ago for my studies and it is amazing. But the guy who commented before i did is correct, You dont need an ipad to understand the Core and concepts of C.E but if you have the budget and want something which is conveniet and is lighter than a laptop then you should go for it.
Very interesting. I have shared it with my students too.
Thank you!
Loved your videos as always. Keep up the good work 👍.
Thank you!
I have an exam tmrw 😂
It really helps me 👷🤸
Thanks and good luck!
Good video. Please do add text illustrations as well.
Thank you and sure thing I’ll keep that in mind :)

nice video, can you also do an example of a common connection design one day , thanks
Thanks! And I’ll add your suggestion to the list :)
What app do you use for these animations and to edit your Videos?

Or if anyone else can help me, cheers
Just get the prescribed textbooks, attend all classes, follow lecturer's notes closely and use them as a guide for what to focus on in textbooks.

Who else felt like Ben spoke way too fast, a bit too rushed
Sorry if it was to fast for you, I’ll try slow down a bit next time :)
@BEngHielscher thanks a lot Ben
What are you on about, I had to put it on 2 times speed
Anyways, you can slow it down yourself if it's an issue
Bro recommend me ipad for civil engineering student good or bad
