Automobile companies did Posi trac or limited slip differential. Some way of improving the performance and safety of dual motor e bikes should be easily available to manufacturers. First drawback I saw was the rubber on the front tire will wear out quickly with all the burnouts a famous TH-camr does and states he can’t keep that from happening. That’s a loss of control and power and rubber. Dual motors are just in the 1.0 ver right now. Very fun but no option to control it.

@@threeonamatchventura yeah, the front tire wears out CRAZY FAST doing the burnouts. its really dumb. Might be fun at first, But buying new tires every week Isn’t 😂😂

I like the more power but duel throttle is needed here

Thats not a bad recommendation, but ive never seen any dual motor ebike have individual power settings for each motor.

Yeah, its more of a DIY thing … most prebuilt dual motor ebikes have 1 display and throttle. Cheaper and simple. But i never liked having two high power geared hubs on the same throttle. Its not unique in the sense ots dangerous, lots of sketchy dual motor scooters and other ebikes on the market by now. Evenn the AR Grizzly can be. But in my case i found the front hub motor doesnt even need high voltage and works fine at say 1100w Hahah i don’t know that id want to be doing 60V 40A with the front motor like they have it set up, but hey 🤷

I agree with your assessment. I now have to be the bigger "Karren" here.... we get someone who has no experience on any ebike. Luvs these videos. Buys said dual motor bicycle. Gets severely hurt. More bans and regulations come swiftly.
Nobody in there right mind would let a brand new driver with absolutely no skills or experience buy and get behind the wheel of a Ferrari. These setups are for those who are experienced ebike riders and should be marked as such.
I am still a firm believer that the dual motor setup should be on two separate lines. They should be completely independent of each other. The use would be intentional and if one system fails, you still have a way to make it home.

@@TheLionsDen72 when i built a high voltage dual hub bike i was hesitant to let people ride it , nonetheless go selling them to anyone and everyone, I’m not sure wired even understands the risk associated with the front motor TBH. they have seriously probably never rode a dual hub bike. Seeing 6000 watts of power, id want to see that first hand! I'm gunning it and probably won't care to use pedal assist. It's a cruiser. They could have the front motor engage after a certain speed is reached. After 30 feet? Or use a double throttle like u mentioned. It's definitely not the usual ebike so they should put a warning disclaimer that certain skill is required to ride it without injuries occurring. It is a cool ebike!

these things will get someone killed dangerous and ludicrous that we do not have controllers that we can totally configure for each wheel independently

You can do one or both of these things to do want you are wanting. Turn on throttle follow mode and put your peddle assist modes 1,2,3, etc, to maybe 20%, 40%, on up to 100%. That way if you put the bike on peddle assist 2 and hit the throttle you are only getting 20% of the power. Of course you can also just flip the switch to rear motor only. I do the throttle follow mode on my Wired Cruiser to turn it down when I am riding in a public park, etc.

Great analysis. Love your videos and your frame-by-frame analysis. How much power is too much power for a front-end motor. I am seeing a lot of dual motor and dual battery ebikes. 500w rear and 500w front, and 750w rear and 750w front. Do these have the same potential issue with a front wheel spinning out and creating unstable front end?

I've been building since 2015 again and have built twin throttle ebikes. And three throttle ebikes. Only two wheeler but 3 motor ebikes. 1 Mid drive 48v for climbing and 2 hub motors each one it's own throttle.

@@robintaylor3860 what’s your opinion on this wired predator bike? Sounds like you prefer multiple throttles. I’ve had 3 motors on a bike as well, That was fun , but heavy!! I had the mid drive on PAS and separate throttles for dual hubs. Don’t talk about it too loud, or WIRED might do that next. 🤑😂

Came back to add one more thing to the mix. These motor setups should not be on single walled rims. That in itself is a danger. They cut cost at the expense of our safety. Poor quality.

You bring up two separate throttles, but what do you think will stop people from just hammering both of the throttle down and getting wheel spin that way.

Well OK then on the 4 points for safety from what all that was Wired's apparent rebuttal: 1) Front motor not connected to PAS 2) Adjustable PAS settings & levels 3) "Throttle follow" adjustment to mirror PAS adjustments or not 4) Don't buy a dual motor vehicle not 🚫 really a bicycle legally if you're a new rider. Personally I'd buy an E-Cells dual motor as they seem very reputable & safety conscious. Dual motor eBikes in young kids hands could be the industry's Achilles Heel IMHO.

@@stevecumming6427 yeah i did this a while ago and in one word its “unnecessary”, lol, is the word i kept coming back to. With “overkill” a close second. I wouldn’t sell a bike like that to just anyone, and tbh even if i just helped some one else with a front motor bike , i don’t know if i would feel comfortable with it, lol. Its one thing to build your own and take the risk and ride it. But its different to bring it to market value priced and sell it to a bunch of random people that have no idea. I mean to me that’s just kind of hard to fathom that level of risk you’d be assuming by selling such a product, that is known to be dangerous , without any kind of warning or efforts to make the product safe for consumers, but i suppose they are attorneys hiding behind the protection of a limited liability company. And yeah give this thing to kids and they will crash guaranteed these modern kids think they can respawn like its a video game.

You’re blaming wired for the people who are careless. That’s like blaming car manufacturers for allowing their vehicles to do wheel spins from the factory.

Honestly you’re just trying to find ways to be a hater. You bring up questions that were already answered In his first video. right around 13:40 he literally talks about how the throttle is modular and performed a u-turn using throttle only while in awd mode. You said your concerned for the amount of power it has and then when he shows how customizable it is to draw the power back then you say something like “who wants to ride a bike like that”. You kept saying you don’t have horses in the race but it sure sounds like you tried to and they turned you down and now you’re just out to hate on wired.

  • @TheLionsDen72
    @TheLionsDen72 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

To start, it is NOT 6000ws of power. It is a dual 3000w motor setup. The way it gets marketed is false.
I will save my opinion until after I have watched the rest of your video.

    • @EBikeBuilder_

@@TheLionsDen72 i think they say front is 1000w nominal / 40 amp controller , rear is 1500w motor /50A controller , Then they are calling it 6000w based on the 60v*40a + 60v*50A , so i think in their math they used the nominal voltage * controller amps to get 6000w but that’s still advertising the bike based on output power and not nominal motor power. I guess is a long way to elaborate my complaint regarding how they are advertising it. Id call it a 2500w ebike if the motors are 1000w+1500w, personally, 3000w is close enough, but to call this a 6000w ebike is just a big funny marketing number , Yeah.
