Love your vids which led to me to getting the Fabulous EMX Extreme last summer. Use it for my round trip 37 mile commuter for work with two panniers here in Fairbanks, AK. Gets me up the steep climbs with no problems. What blast and now has over 4000 miles!
I'm glad you took the time to highlight power management. I just recently had a bad crash my e-bike, and I only have a rear motor. Newbies (like myself) really need to respect the power and weight of these bike. Great video.
Its nice that the setting can adjust some of the issues here. There is more room for improvement imo. A dual motor system is def for advanced, experienced riders though. It should be marketed ae such. Someone with absolutely no experience with any ebike is going to end getting a dual motor ebike, get, seriously hurt, and then the bans & regulations will come. We need influencers like yourself to be advocates for being responsible in this space. It helps us all keep the liberties we have in the ebike relm. Also..... what about your setup ( the Citizen Cycle)? Your dual motor, independent steup is by far a better setup and superior to this. You should show that off more and show the difference between your setup and this. That would be a great video. Thank you for sharing. See you on the next one.
I almost don't want to admit it but using the settings like you do here is what I've been doing on my Cruiser to make it a little tamer when the need arises. I have power assist set to 33% for 500 watts of power, 50% for 750 watts & on up to 100%. Works great for those times when I'm riding in public place like a park and don't want or need all 1500 watts. Thanks for the great video.
Thats what I was hoping I could do with my bike (Ghostcat V3 Pro.) I dont need all the torque all the time. Plus I could get better mileage if I could program it like you're saying. I guess for the price I just figured I could. Thats my bad
@@rickymahoney6664 I thought the Ghostcat was delivered programmed to 20 mph max speed and the motor is limited to 750W but you can of course over ride that.

What I'm trying to say is both systems feel remarkably different in many ways too! Hub motors are so much louder, they sound like the Milk Man is coming! But it's quite a low frequency sound and personally, I like it and it really doesn't bother me. The way they transfer their power to the road is very different feeling to mid drives too I think. The power transfer is far more direct I think, it's like when the motor is engaged by a push on the pedal, the motor launches itself forward immediately, whereas mid drives feel like they depend more on your input, they seem to respond, and are more sensitive, to your cadence and input nuances, so it's like the motor responds depending on, and after, your input. Hub motors seem to be designed more around the throttle, hence their more direct transfer of power. Personally, they're very different feeling systems but, as mentioned previously, the end result is the same, and I'd say that both systems are awesome and if you're new to ebikes, don't let this choice bother you, because you're going to be totally happy with either system. One little thing perhaps worth considering is that if you're ever likely to want to do some off road riding, that would be when I'd suggest going for a mid drive system, simply because the weight of the system is nice and central on the bike, which is exactly where you want it if you're mountain biking. Hub motors place all the weight at extreme ends of the bike, which affects your balance on the bike and will affect the handling in a manner that's not ideal when riding off road. But I've gotta say, dual super powerful hub motors are like nothing else! I recently had a go on a cheap Chinese brand, Shenghmilo, their S600 model I believe, which has 2 1000 wt motors, one in each hub, and I have to say that it was absolutely fookin amazing, the feeling of huge power and rapid acceleration was incredible and next level when compared to my 250 wt Bosch powered emtb. I don't think that's gonna happen, for two reasons. Number one I think he's got an exclusive contract with the wired people in number two. I don't think the CEO of E cells will provide a bike.
People are so scared of the front wheel spinning, I had a bike with a 1000w motor on the front and rear and I was riding through snow going full throttle and turning the bars left and right fast with the front wheel spinning like crazy and I was totally fine. I rather have a little slower acceleration and top speed of 55 mph than constant tire peel and a top speed of 43 mph.
I'd like to have one😂 Love the power. Good to see a video showing how tameable it is. I can think of at least five channels that are going to be eating their words. Unfortunately that weight is just too much for me. I can carry about 90lbs up Three flights of stairs. 😞

Hi @Citizen . Thanks again for your in depth reviews. Curious, are you going to do a comparison between this new Predator against the Citizen Cycle? All the best to you.
I disagree. Give me a bicycle that does 60mph. I know most people don't want or need this, but I personally find significant value in a vehicle that's just as home on sidewalks and bike lanes as it is on roads.
@@aetheon9906 that's you, most people will kill themselves going 60mph on a main road in whatever city you in. Get a license for a suron or something similar.

I also find 40 is a great top end speed. My diy build is running 55amps at 60 volts through a direct drive hub motor and my top end is 50 which starts feeling really sketchy on 2.2 inch wide tyres 😅.
Another great review from you! Any chance you are going to review the Ride 1 Up Cafe Cruiser? It's motor has been recently updated to be more powerful and more quiet. Thanks for your reviews.
Great vid’! You said if we have any questions to put them in the comment section and you would answer them. I have two: 1: Does the bike have any wobble? 2: does it come with a Full-covering front fender? I ride in mud so both questions are pertinent. Thanks.
@user-ch4ex3yy4l not long ago I did a whole video regarding steering wobble on the wired bikes. this Predator bike handles exactly like the cruiser and the freedom models. Having the weight of the rear rack battery pack can affect the steering. Hasn't been an issue for me because I ride with my hands on the handlebars. Also this Predator bike I have is a prototype and it does not have the hellbender visco 70 headset like the production models will have so maybe that will help with the handling. All production models will also come with a front fender.
so glad we bought a cheap amyet s8 awd its 48v but smokes the front tire it teaches you a lot about the dangers of awd and corners its just dangerous IMHO
Oh boy I think the Wired & E-Cells high speed ebikes got some competition going on as of July 2024 they now have these 52v mountain bike style ebikes 3000w 24" 26" dual motor peak 1500w per motor 25ah battery with dual separate 25 amp controllers hitting 38-44 mph a few ppl have them on TH-cam & to find them just type 52v 3000w dual motor ebike on either Amazon or eBay and the best part is they only $1300 bucks for the more average person who don't have over 2-3 grand for a fast ebike
The acceleration and torque on this bike is for sure impressive, I'm just wondering if these hub motors have some sort of built in speed limit. I never see them going faster than 45MPH.
yes, they can only spin so fast, if top end speed is what you want then you should look at bikes with direct drive motors, they go faster, this one is built for acceleration and torque.
The forks on predator are certainly more substantial than the RST's on the freedom & cruiser. i didn't notice any major difference in performance though. They will not be doing a step thru version of this predator.
I'm a little shocked and baffled that the Predator has similar 60v motors with bigger controllers and still has less top end speed than the MONSTAR ? It would be interesting to see a real apples to apples comparison.
@@CitizenCycle925 Ok! Never thought about that. Not a problem, can’t wait to get the bike. Just notified that some of my order (accessories) are shipping! Hope it won’t take too long to get the bike. I think they stated mid November. Thanks for your reply and have a great day! 😎
I watched your video. I loved the bike. I actually order the white one. I used your discount code. Question, I was going to order the HEB Allscape heavy duty tires. You think that will help with traction? They weigh more and have bigger nobs. I bought those tires for my other ebike. Beefy tires!
Considering you can buy a like new Harley Davidson Sportster circa 2009 with less than 3k miles for less, I paid $2,800 for mine. Ridiculous price on those e bikes for what they are.
Lots of people always want more and more power and more speed, and forget that its a bike and not motorcycle, i personally want always long range instead of speed, so i can cover huge distances
man i remember last year you sold me on the freedom and after it arrived they announced the 2024 version and now this? I guess ill have to find someone to sell it to so i can save for this one
Display is the same as the freedom and cruiser. i doubt Wired will sell the 50a controllers and not sure i would recommend it. i believe they updated the motor internals to handle the power increase so if you try to put that on your 2024 freedom or cruiser you may fry something.
I would love one but I would want it in the stepped through version I already have a step through version with your front wheel kit on it and of course I would like more power maybe there would be some sort of kit that you can put on a step through version that will do the same thing or similar
I would like to ask this question. Is there any front forks similar to the ones on the predator that I can purchase out there that will fit and work on my 2024 wired freedom and if so do you know where I can get them ? Thankyou 😀
I'd do better but i gotta watch since my job of about 25 yrs is shutting down march of 25. I'm seriously thinking about a different route from maintenance and machining in manufacturing and possibly try getting into ebike/bike repair. Start with school for electronic troubleshooting and repair...idk man!!! But thanks for the video! Too bad they are only making 99 of this one because i want to definitely sell rear hub mtb by the time i get my severance and get one. I know there are other awd bikes but this one just has rhe looks and ability to climb like i want. I dont want hub drive. Anyway take care and keep up the good work!@CitizenCycle925
This ebike is cadence sensor, not torque sensor? @6:24 I can hear the complainers shouting "foul" already! 😆 In your first video with this model, I was worried about wheel spin chewing up tires with the associated added expense of replacing them sooner, and also about batteries being depleted faster. Now I'm comfortable enough to consider actually buying one. Thanks for digging into the capabilities they've built-in, Citizen. One question remains in my mind .... changing all these settings can be done simply on the display screen, without the need for a smart phone interface?
I don't get the purpose, top speed is the same as the regular bike, you have to reduce the power to ride it comfortably and at full power you can't peddle or turn.
I got it because I’m heavy, about 275 lbs, and plan to ride in areas with big hills so I would like the extra torque to be able to pull me up those hills. And why not be able to rip through some sand for the fun 😛
I hate that hollow sound of the geared hubs. I have a 20” fat tire bike with a 750w geared hub and a BBSHD mid drive with a 3Kw asi controller both pushing the rear wheel. The mid has far more torque and is whisper quiet relative to the geared hub that I’m just too lazy to remove. Citizen needs to take that Grizzly and put a BBSHD on it with an upgrade controller and then he will see what smooth power is!!
It would weigh over 150lbs, nobody wants that. You can get well over 100 miles if you ride it like a normal e bike. A 60ah bike like the piece of garbage Annioki bikes(the cheapest crap motors and no named cell batteries) will be really heavy, and Annioki’s case, really ugly. Who wants to be seen riding that monstrosity? Fire hazard? They must be cutting costs everywhere else to pay for the 60ah packs, garbage bikes.
Are there any ebike throttles that AREN'T total trash? They're all basically just an on/off switch. Maybe they'll have a millimeter of actual modulation.
I want my bike (Ghostcat V3 pro) with a controller like that to adjust power. I want pas 1 and 2 to have 50% torque for example but I haven't found a bike like that. Its either a big bike like this or a small bike that has what I want besides control of the power. I can limit the torque and speed but thats for all pas levels and thats not what i want. I need to do more research before I buy another bike
$3,299.00 Are you kidding me? Come on, there are so many fast bikes under $2000.00. Why the hell would I spend that kind of money for an untested ebike? I own 2 bikes Keteles K800 $800 top speed around 38 mph & my favorite Aventon Aventure $ 1700 top speed around 30 mph with a great ride. Bàaaaaaaaaaa Watch prices start dropping for these bikes!
theres others that are faster however this is a motorcycle not an E-bike and you better learn the rules in youre state. this vehicle will need to be registered and probably require a valid motorcycle license. ANd police know the rules about them even if you don't. also if you get a flat hub motors are a pain in the ass specially in the back. In california Ebikes are limited to 20mpoh. Then you need to get it registered and type 3 MC license. Look it up. Also 6000 also that motor will have a very limited range I'm guessing 20 to 40 miles. I would buy a spare battery so when one goes dead you know its time to put the new battery in and go home or where ever your next charger will be
If you dont ride like an asshole then you dont have much to worry about. I live in a small town where cops have nothing to do and it was a big concern of mine before getting a bike. I obey laws when Im riding threw town and I have plenty of backroads and fields when I wanna be a hooligan
I want more power on front on take off and some from rear and always a kill police mode where it locks in at laws or make police mode the fastest / off road
260w with 2100wh of capacity. That would let you ride for 8 hours straight on pedal assist 1 before killing the batteries with your setup. Probably an easy 85-90 miles of range ridden like that.
I just wish i could afford to purchase a bigger or better range of power and range itself but I just got my 1st e bike and it's a Jasion eb-x but it claimed to have more range then I've gotten and also it claimed 25MPH and mine has never gotten over 24 when 1st got it ,now I'm lucky to get 20MPH after putting over 100 miles on it
Throttle response is very good. You can modulate the throttle and do gradual takeoffs. I know some throttles have a very on/off feel this one does not.
An electric motorcycle needs to maintain 45 mph to keep up with traffic in town to be a actual viable vehicle replacement. I personally wouldn't buy this for a bike. It's ridiculously too powerful for that but top speed is too slow to keep up with traffic. I have a Honda Trail 125 and it tops out at 55 but will maintain 45. It's perfect for in town messing around. The only negative is, I'd get dirty looks if I took in the bike trails.
If the front wheel spins while turning ,you're going down. If you want to go fast in control with superior brakes and suspension ,buy a Surron or similar bike.
For the White Freedom... did you put 24 x 4 tires on the stock 26 x 4 wheels or did you have to relace the motor into a smaller wheel? If not, you're saying if one wanted to hypothetically they could install 24 x 4 tires on to the stock 26 x 4 wheels that come with the Freedom already ?
safety? i hope ppl dont buy ebikes expecting safety (aside from battery fire protection) if you fall off a bike at 30 mph your skin is going to be removed from whatever body parts hit the road fyi.
I'm not sure you're understanding the desire for a 50MPH top speed. It's because the bike doesn't have the same top speed at all battery levels. I use my single battery single motor 2024 Freedom to commute. Does it get up to 40mph? Yeah it does, but only when it's like above 60V on the battery level. With the ~10-15lbs of weight I've added to it (because it's for commuting), my top speed drops to like 35MPH when my battery gets low. That is not fast enough for keeping up with traffic around my town. With a 50MPH top speed, I could reliably stay at least at 40MPH when my battery is low, and THAT'S what I want. I don't really want to do 50MPH on bicycle parts, as I agree with you that's basically motorcycle speeds and not safe. I spend a lot of time riding at 20-30MPH, but there are times when I really need the top speed for traffic safety. Could I buy a second battery? Yeah, but where the hell am I going to keep it? How do I keep it from getting stolen right off the bike without it being locked down? That's also a ton more weight to lug around and having it in a backpack would wreck my back. Maybe the dual battery Freedom/Cruiser now has 40MPH consistency regardless of battery level, but I haven't had the chance to test. If it could maintain 40MPH with a 200lbs rider up a slight hill at
@@CitizenCycle925 Ok, aside from my amazement that the tires will maintain traction with that much power, I read more from the website and it says 6 KW peak. Doing the math, the Watt Hours of the pack is 2100 (also stated on the site), so at 6 KW the pack will last 21 minutes. Obviously peak power in that case. Not too shabby.
This is not an ebike, this is a motorcycle with pedals and does not belong in bike lanes. Cyclist will be hurt or worse by hooligans speeding in bike lanes.... I speak from experience.

@@donovanlankford2089but they won't kill themselves doing 40? Or what about that other bike I haven't heard about anybody dying on it yet, I forget the name of it, does like 50 mi an hour plus with 12in tires,😂 total death trap.
@donovanlankford2089 u don't need a liscend for a surron budd
I also find 40 is a great top end speed. My diy build is running 55amps at 60 volts through a direct drive hub motor and my top end is 50 which starts feeling really sketchy on 2.2 inch wide tyres 😅.
FWIW I did the same thing with the 'regular' Freedom 24+ and essentially use the PAS levels as gears.
Great review. The Predator is the ebike to buy for sure.
Got one coming . Thanks you just confirmed my plan .
@Citizen, are you able to set the P configuration to allow you for full throttle speed on demand, regardless of the PAS level?
yes, you just set the Throttle Follow to No and you will have full power in the throttle at all times.
What about gearing? I haven't heard how gearing works through the pedal assists. Do you just pick a gear and leave it there???
It has 7 gears that you can shift thru like a regular bike but with so much power in the motors i didn't use them much. basically used 5,6 & 7
Another great review from you! Any chance you are going to review the Ride 1 Up Cafe Cruiser? It's motor has been recently updated to be more powerful and more quiet. Thanks for your reviews.
@@kbarnes0 unfortunately I do not have that bike on my review schedule
@@CitizenCycle925 Thanks for replying.
cool bike, its more than what i would need but still cool bike.
Did the dual crown fork stop the death wobble?
Feels the same with the double crown Forks. this 1st Predator also does not have the hellbender headset in it but the production bikes will.
so glad we bought a cheap amyet s8 awd its 48v but smokes the front tire it teaches you a lot about the dangers of awd and corners its just dangerous IMHO
Are those front forks better than the rst front forks and the other question is when do you think they're going to do the step through virgin
The forks on predator are certainly more substantial than the RST's on the freedom & cruiser. i didn't notice any major difference in performance though. They will not be doing a step thru version of this predator.
@@CitizenCycle925 Did those forks help the wobble? Did anything about this bike help mitigate the wobble issue?
I'm a little shocked and baffled that the Predator has similar 60v motors with bigger controllers and still has less top end speed than the MONSTAR ? It would be interesting to see a real apples to apples comparison.
Got my order in for the Freedom cruiser using your link, but didn’t notice a $50 discount. Is that figured later?
@@Tom_Klein unfortunately my $50 discount is only for the predator
@@CitizenCycle925 Ok! Never thought about that. Not a problem, can’t wait to get the bike. Just notified that some of my order (accessories) are shipping! Hope it won’t take too long to get the bike. I think they stated mid November. Thanks for your reply and have a great day! 😎
I watched your video. I loved the bike. I actually order the white one. I used your discount code. Question, I was going to order the HEB Allscape heavy duty tires. You think that will help with traction? They weigh more and have bigger nobs. I bought those tires for my other ebike. Beefy tires!
My favourite fat tyres are the schwalbe Jumbo Jim. Seriously top tier traction in all conditions.
Considering you can buy a like new Harley Davidson Sportster circa 2009 with less than 3k miles for less, I paid $2,800 for mine. Ridiculous price on those e bikes for what they are.
Do you know if they're going to do that to the step through and when they might be bringing that out
Lots of people always want more and more power and more speed, and forget that its a bike and not motorcycle, i personally want always long range instead of speed, so i can cover huge distances
You can ride it at 20mph in PAS and get over 100 miles.
man i remember last year you sold me on the freedom and after it arrived they announced the 2024 version and now this? I guess ill have to find someone to sell it to so i can save for this one
Question, Can we get the 50 amp controller and keep the same screen on the 2024+?
Display is the same as the freedom and cruiser. i doubt Wired will sell the 50a controllers and not sure i would recommend it. i believe they updated the motor internals to handle the power increase so if you try to put that on your 2024 freedom or cruiser you may fry something.
@@CitizenCycle925 Thanks, For your reply
I would love one but I would want it in the stepped through version I already have a step through version with your front wheel kit on it and of course I would like more power maybe there would be some sort of kit that you can put on a step through version that will do the same thing or similar
How about speed comparison between Freedom and Predator rear motor only @100% power. Is the rear motor different between the two, if so how?
I believe the motor had some updated phase wires to allow for the extra power.I'm sure they'll transition this to the freedoms eventually.
I would like to ask this question. Is there any front forks similar to the ones on the predator that I can purchase out there that will fit and work on my 2024 wired freedom and if so do you know where I can get them ? Thankyou 😀
THANK YOU FOR ALL THE COMPLAINERS ❣️
Aww, baby has hurt feelings. 😓
Does this have the same rear wheel that previous 2024 models had? I'm surprised they didn't go up to a 58 tooth chain ring
I think they made some upgrades to the motors internals to handle the higher power.
Thanks!
Thank you I appreciate your kindness!
I can hear the complainers shouting "foul" already! 😆
In your first video with this model, I was worried about wheel spin chewing up tires with the associated added expense of replacing them sooner, and also about batteries being depleted faster. Now I'm comfortable enough to consider actually buying one. Thanks for digging into the capabilities they've built-in, Citizen. One question remains in my mind .... changing all these settings can be done simply on the display screen, without the need for a smart phone interface?
Good tutorial.
Will this bike be offered with a front fender?
It comes with it
yes, production models will have a front fender.
@@michaelreed2467 He can't put the extra torque to work on flat ground, that bike is going to be all over the place going up a hill.
Pretty sweet bikes
How long do you intend to travel on those dinky batteries? A 60ah battery is needed for that kind of power
What brand are the hub motors? Any part numbers? I bet my wallet they are not WIRED's hubs. Please reply ty.
Rear Motor is a 1500w Hentach and front motor is a 1000w EW
What about range. Speed is fine, but how much further can you go?
Bàaaaaaaaaaa
Watch prices start dropping for these bikes!
Do those have the same hill climbing capabilities?
I own a aventon to overheats often no bafang they lied about that controller Button falls known for that
you were having way too much fun going slow.. just having another motor did it make the bike more cumbersome and less maneuverable?
Cool thx ❤
Hi
Are You providing 24 inch kit for the wired Freeform ?
wasn't planning on it. changing to the 24in wheels really didn't make the bike feel any smaller. dont think its worth it.
theres others that are faster however this is a motorcycle not an E-bike and you better learn the rules in youre state. this vehicle will need to be registered and probably require a valid motorcycle license. I would buy a spare battery so when one goes dead you know its time to put the new battery in and go home or where ever your next charger will be
BS. Cali has a 28 mph limit.
If you dont ride like an asshole then you dont have much to worry about. I live in a small town where cops have nothing to do and it was a big concern of mine before getting a bike. I obey laws when Im riding threw town and I have plenty of backroads and fields when I wanna be a hooligan
Wouldn't a traction control system be amazing?
I want more power on front on take off and some from rear and always a kill police mode where it locks in at laws or make police mode the fastest / off road
260w with 2100wh of capacity. That would let you ride for 8 hours straight on pedal assist 1 before killing the batteries with your setup. Probably an easy 85-90 miles of range ridden like that.
I just wish i could afford to purchase a bigger or better range of power and range itself but I just got my 1st e bike and it's a Jasion eb-x but it claimed to have more range then I've gotten and also it claimed 25MPH and mine has never gotten over 24 when 1st got it ,now I'm lucky to get 20MPH after putting over 100 miles on it
I have 2439 on mine .20 is all ur gone to get
Most people that buy this type of bike no what they are doing and buy this bike for a reason
How is the throttle on this bike compared to the freedom i know the freedom is a little jurkey
Throttle response is very good. You can modulate the throttle and do gradual takeoffs. I know some throttles have a very on/off feel this one does not.
Bafang or no bafang that is the question
An electric motorcycle needs to maintain 45 mph to keep up with traffic in town to be a actual viable vehicle replacement. I personally wouldn't buy this for a bike. It's ridiculously too powerful for that but top speed is too slow to keep up with traffic. I have a Honda Trail 125 and it tops out at 55 but will maintain 45. It's perfect for in town messing around. The only negative is, I'd get dirty looks if I took in the bike trails.
That sounds like a tie fighter
If the front wheel spins while turning ,you're going down. If you want to go fast in control with superior brakes and suspension ,buy a Surron or similar bike.
For the White Freedom... did you put 24 x 4 tires on the stock 26 x 4 wheels or did you have to relace the motor into a smaller wheel?
If not, you're saying if one wanted to hypothetically they could install 24 x 4 tires on to the stock 26 x 4 wheels that come with the Freedom already ?
I had to put the motor into a smaller wheel. I did make a video on this if you want to see exactly how I did it
They should make smaller versions. Id buy one
Great video explaining. Kinda kills all the soy boys saying it's dangerous. Doesn't it?
I'm even more excited about mine now!
safety? i hope ppl dont buy ebikes expecting safety (aside from battery fire protection) if you fall off a bike at 30 mph your skin is going to be removed from whatever body parts hit the road fyi.
Wear proper protection .
Are the seat hights the same?
Please tell me i can do simular or same feature on furious emx?
If it could maintain 40MPH with a 200lbs rider up a slight hill at
Wish I could afford it 😪
My Hyabusa will do 100 mph in first gear, I bought my Wired for cruising and relaxing.

6000 Watt is 8 Horsepower. Do you really believe it's that much???
oh yes, i've owned a kawasaki Z125 pro for a while which had like 6 horsepower and this thing honestly feels stronger haha
Not too shabby.

for me, if i need more speed and power than this i'm just jumping on my motorcycle.
Why have all that power and not use it.
Needs to go at least.
Forty five it's safer if you can keep up with traffic
This is not an ebike, this is a motorcycle with pedals and does not belong in bike lanes. Cyclist will be hurt or worse by hooligans speeding in bike lanes.... I speak from experience.
