Holy cow.. I have been fighting my audio issues for almost a year now, this video just cleared all of that up on top of helping em understand how this whole system works. Thank you for sharing!!
For xbox only audio setting you actually have to adjust is just party chat set through headset and speakers so that you can record party chat. Just you need a seperate mic to capture your voice through your pc. On PS5 the chat link cable is just good for party chat recording. If you just instead do a party chat through your pc like discord you can capture that instead.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. This is solid advice and exactly what I want to do. I want to be able to have my stream hear my game chat audio. I just brought an Elgato hd60x and a wave XLR and chat link cable so I’m hoping that’s all I need to make this work.
I think this video just fixed every issue I have with trying to get my discord and my game chat or party chat to work all at once with no issues. Need to get a Link cable then I'm going to test it all out. Again thank you very much good sir! 🙏
Hi. This video is amazing and has helped me solve almost every issue I have. However I'm struggling to figure out a way to make my chat work with my Nova Pro wired headset. I think I'm missing something that involves my DAC. Can you help me please?
This was a very nice and informative video. Can I do this without a PC? And if I can, can I do this with a laptop and what type of laptop do you recommend or should I use?
Hey there, not sure if you still check these, question... You have controller > Chatlink > Line In on the PC Where do you actually have your headphones plugged in to hear the game and desktop audio? does a separate headphone jack on the PC pick up what you want to hear? For example, I've never had a desktop pc, just got one. Its got the 'line in' on the back, but on the top its got a headphone jack. if i use this method, would i still be able to plug headphones into the top and hear everything? Im not familiar with any of this. Thanks!
Nice video, remember when i used to use the old elgato HD to record my ps3 good days. love that elgato has improved a lot in quality and now there is so much more you can do! Great video wish i had this video years ago XD
You have to admit it was informative. You should've kept this comment to yourself. I'm sure this guy worked hard on this video. And even though I don't have some of the gear he used it was still very informational
In your own setup you mentioned in the end. Is your headset connected to the Chat Link or is it connected directly to the PC? I’m trying to understand how you can use the headset as a monitor device in Wave Link if the chat link is connected to the line-in. If it is connected to the Chat Link, what have you selected as monitor device in Wave Link?
I don’t connect my headset to the chat link. It’s only used to get audio to my wavelink. I connect my headset to the pc and use wavelink to send my audio to that
You actually touched on an issue im having. Im trying to use my NZXT HD60 on my PS4. You did state you may be able to use with the PS4. Not sure if the capture card would still be compatible or if there is a work around for it. Ive seen your other vids on how to troubleshoot this but thats with a el gato capture card and none if the solutions work 😭.
Capture card prices are ridiculous. Xbox needs to allow more customization on streaming, like gamepad overlays and background removal. No reason they can’t
Do I have to get a computer to stream? I mean I'm still at the beginning. How can I stream without technical problems? And if I have to get a computer, what kind would be good and not expensive?
Hey mate! Thanks for that detailed work through!! I have a question though : if you plug in the chat link pro in the capture card and the controller, will the people on stream be able to hear my teammates as well if we are in-game chat (not xbox party chat)? Thanks in advance !
I seriously need your help. I have the rodecaster pro 2 and everything you have in the video. I watched your video to setup a dual pc and followed the steps. When trying to incorporate my ps5 to the setup. I’m not getting any audio to the capture. I can hear the game through my headset but nothing is going into obs. Is there any work around to get everything working while still being able to use the rodecaster pro 2?
Hi after doing everything accordingly to the steps through 12:04 with an elgato chat link cable. I now have sound coming from PS5 to PC so i can hear game sounds and alerts, GREAT! However, am i missing something because i cant seem to be heard when connecting to Party chats on the PS5. What am i missing?
This is why chatlink pro helps as your headset and mic would connect to that and into the controller. The system at the end where I show you how I set up, I can do that because I don’t need party chat on my console. Or you can simply plug in a second mic into your console. That might be the easiest option
@@MurrayFrost alright so if I understand this correctly. With the setup now, I can't have both options unless I plug in an additional microphone? So it's either game sound with party chat options where everyone hears each other but then no alert sounds OR ME having the option to hear game sound and alerts via the streaming computer, but now can't use party chat, however can still use discord for sounds that goes both ways? Any recommendations for an additional mic to connect to console?
nice video, did not help my situation. Trying to use chat link pro cable so game chat audio is heard. I am using analog audio to try and capture that however if I do that I lose my gameplay audio. Right now I have the trade off which is no good. When I am using hdmi audio I have no issue what so ever everything is perfect. Just cannot get game chat audio to be picked up with gameplay audio
I’ve got everything to stream but keep running into one problem. I have a setup similar to yours. When I stream with cross play enabled I can’t hear the opponents. Will having this capture card and chat link fix that?
Is there anyway to stream 1080p60 but play in 4K. I hate that I have to use 1080 on a new gen console just to stream. The highest resolution my series x can get when plugged into the hd60x is 1080.
So if I hook the sound up through PC like you then how do I speak to party chat? Do I still plug the headset into the controller? Then plug into the capture card and PC then use wave link?
I'm just confused on the wire set up. I. Saw where you plugged the wire into the controller and the wire into the PC, but I didn't see where you plugged in the headset.
So I have my wave 3 mic hooked up to my pc, and my wireless headset too. I have a chat link, and it’s hooked up for the wave link method as you did. I can hear and adjust console audio now, and stream can hear and hear me, but my headset mic won’t show on the ps5 at all as an option. What am I doing wrong? Help is so so appreciated man. Its giving me a hard time. Look forward to hearing from you
Hi brother. I use a PS5 and pc to stream. Could you please let me know how I can stream with my Turtle Beach Stealth Pro since it does not have a 3.5 mm audio cable or jack?
Question.... I use the Rodecaster Pro with my Xbox Series X for game audio and party chat simply by connecting a double ended 3.5mm jack to the controller and Rodecaster Pro. Is there a way to connect the Elgato Chatlink Pro to the Rodecaster Pro while still using it for game audio and party chat? I'm guessing that this would enable me to finally be able to stream party chat and game audio through the capture card. Thanks!
So everything is connected just right. Capture card HD60 X, Streamlabs, ps5, mic, chat link and monitor. But for some reason, once I start playing the game, my monitor flickers on and off. Does anybody know, or Murray, maybe you can help me solve my situation. I would really appreciate it 🙏
What if you connected console to capture card but not for streaming. What if you wanted play games in virtual desktop on big VR screen. Is it possible? How big would be delay. Unplayable or...?
I'm super new to all this streaming gear and stuff. But are you telling me that I can't pass the game audio from the console to my computer through HDMI via the capture card? I have to fiddle with 3,5mm audio cables from the headphone jack on my controller? I'm going a little insane about how stupid it is. Why do they have to make things so difficult? My setup is: PS5 -> HD60X -> PC I just want whatever sound and picture my PS5 makes to be captured by OBS on my computer. And I can't do it with just HDMI cables and the HD60X? I have to plug my controller to my computer with an 3,5mm audio cable? Ok another question. Do the PCIe capture cards have the same problem? I want an as clean of a setup as possible.
yeah it sucks you gotta fiddle with it alot theres a 4k app you can download that changes it from hdmi to analog and back half the time it don't work though.
Is it necessary to enable streamlink on elgato capture utility to make it work on obs for ps5 using the hd60x capture card. I am stuck in this step and am unable to show the camlink and game link over on obs. I'm also unable to see the NDI drop down option

Thank you. I Have a series X and was wondering what method I could take to get mic audio included in stream. I will connect 3.5mm Jack to controller and other end to pc. Send game audio to PC with this method and pair my xBox wireless headset to my pic that way I can use headset to hear all audio as well as use headset mic to talk 🙏🏾. Thank you sir!!!
@@RealystGemini no this is the only downside. If you want in game chat to hear you and your mic audio included in the stream then you MUST use a splitter coming out your controller, one end going to headset and one end going to Elgato analog input. When you use the chat link how you have it set up, can your party chat in game still hear you? i know you said youll be able to hear your alerts and game, im just unsure how it will allow you to communicate back to console
Hey can I do this without chat link pro. Like I am a streamer I have a PS5 a Laptop and a Monitor and now after saving a lot and budgeting the Elgato HD60X. So I am looking to stream and record single player games from my PS5 to my TH-cam Channel. So how does that work. I bought the capture card because I have my Blue Yeti mic connected to my laptop which is set up using NVIDIA BROADCAST and in OBS mic stuff to make it sound better. So can iI connect my Mic and headphones to my Laptop and stream off my PS5 with the elagto HD60x. I have never used a capture card before so am kind of lost. Thank you
PS5 needs nothing extra for game chat audio on your stream. No extra cables, no pc/laptop and no capture card needed. PS5 is literally content creator friendly. Also you can do light video editing for your recorded video content to upload to TH-cam all done directly from the console itself.
Does anyone have a list of item specifics I need to get to stream cause i just got the interest in streaming don't know what to get I have an xbox series s
Hi @MurrayFrost i am using a xbox series x with a msi optix G32 series monitor. HELP: ( My most recent video shows everything ) My elgato audio shows on the meter in obs and also has it’s own track but when I finish my recordings the audio is empty on the gameplay audio track
6:35 - when I open my settings I only get 720p and 1080p not 4K… 6:53- I only get the option to turn on 50Hz, allow variable refresh rate , allow ycc,.. how are you allowed to use all those options?
The issue I'm having is that every time I connect the chat link pro cable to my controller, I can hear the audio in my headphones but I lose the audio in OBS.
Try changing from digital to analog on the 4k capture software. Settings/device/audio input. If its not in analog it wont register in obs for some reason when using chat link.
I want to play my PS5 on my PC and stream my PS5 to Discord while in a Discord call with no lag and be able to hear my friends etc on Discord, how do I do it mate ?

When you use the chat link how you have it set up, can your party chat in game still hear you? i know you said youll be able to hear your alerts and game, im just unsure how it will allow you to communicate back to console
What about the camera setup I have a facecam elgato how do get it to talk to everything?
Thank you
Yes bro you can purchase a aux to aux cord at Best Buy as well as a stereo splitter if you have iG I can show you
PS5 needs nothing extra for game chat audio on your stream.

But what if I don’t want to use the Wire in my controller and I wanted to use a wireless headset
