    Hi Max, awesome channel! I have the exact same car a 2003 CLK32O. I just replaced my steering pump and reservoir (as the pulley broke on my old pump), and new fluid "LIQUI MOLY STEERING OIL 3100 - MB-Approval 236.3". My steering is now super heavy (like 3 times heavier) compared to before. Do you think it's the fluid? And should I replace with the CHF 11S like yours? Many thanks, Serge

      Hi Mate, thanks for the positive feedback, I think you have changed 2 variables at once, first the steering pump and then the fluid. To be frank my steering is heavy too but it was heavy before fluid change too, so it might be the pump but at the same time it is much cheaper to go with the recommended fluid first and if your steering pump came with the a warranty, you can replace it in case...

    Hi, i just replaced my steering rack and installed a rebuild one, my car its a clk 55 amg and has speed sensor on the steering rack, after i replaced the steering it's so light that the sporty feeling it's gone. Can this be because the type of fluid used ? I used regular ATF because that's what my part store guy said was ok for it. Should i replace it with pentosine? Do i have to reset anything on the ECU? Like telling the car i replaced the fluid so it resets the values ? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks for the video it is very informative.

      Hi Scarlett and thanks for your comment, I have read many Benz forums and every single post confirmed that we need to use CHF type fluid for proper function and healthy operation of the rack and pump. I personally do not think there is any reset is required. Just make sure that your sensor connector properly connected and the sensor is not faulty.

    So you didn't need to use the transfer pump, if by removing the clamp, it drains all the fluid out of the power steering reservoir?

    • @MaxReviewss
      @MaxReviewss  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes correct, gravity takes care of the fluid and a turning the wheel...

      Hola amigo mío Como entendí con la traducción de Google, estás hablando del color de los fluidos nuevos y viejos, por lo que investigué, el color no es un factor importante, el tema importante es el cumplimiento de CHF11S. Gracias

    Do you happen to know the clamp diameter of the radiator line? I believe that one needs to be replaced once it's removed.

    What’s the ideal temperature for the power steering fluid while the engine is running ?

    • @MaxReviewss
      @MaxReviewss  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Around 110 F to 130 F but should not really go above 180 F but this is a general tip and not specific to any car...

    Hello, I have a c320....and steering is not that light as I need it to be, what can I do to have a lighter steering? the fluid is yellowish not green , Do you think flushing it with new will make a difference?
    Thank you

    • @MaxReviewss
      @MaxReviewss  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check your tyre pressure, make sure your tierods and suspension are healthy, changing fluid might work. And lastly the steering pump might be the culprit...

    • @joesaric1
      @joesaric1 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The yellow liquid is thicker than the green, so the pump works harder. that's probably why the servo is heavier

    You are putting 345.0 that is green, that's wrong, only for models with hydralic suspension cars, should be 236.3 that is yellow and is the psf. The green and yellow should not be mixed, and you can see that your old fluid is dark yellow.

      Not ok, do not starve the pump from fluid.
