Hello my friends, I tried my best to include as many as cool and hidden features, tips and tricks but I am sure you have more, please go ahead and leave more if you know any in the comment section, as usual thank you for helping the videos to spread... cheers, Max.
For the summer convinience feature (rolling up and down the windows by using the car key), the key needs to be pointed to the ir sensor on the driver side door handle (it's the little black rectangle), it's a bit finicky but if you keep the key about 30cm away from the sensor and point it correctly it should work :)
Hello from the East Coast of the United States.... I bought a 2005 CLK500 convertible a couple of years ago. It currently has almost 200k miles on it and was dealer-maintained by the previous owner. I did replace all of the hydraulic cylinders for the top last year as the one main-lift cylinder developed a leak. I like your videos, keep up the good work. As for the holding down the lock\unlock buttons on the remote to raise and lower the windows.... Try holding the fob very close to the little dark square next to the keyhole on the drivers door. I believe the fob emits an IR signal to that receiver. I use mine all the time to raise and lower the windows and top while standing outside the car.
Thanks mate for the great advice on the remote trick, I will try this and let you know. And thank you for your positive feedback, enjoy your lovely A209 :)
Hi there from NZ, I reset the Service interval ! yay ! My mechanic couldn't work it out.... enjoying my convertible CLK500... (145kms) have done some preventive maintenance lately, replaced the crank position sensor so am hoping for a reliable future.... any hints to tweak horsepower ? Would you take the cats off or do 'cat back' exhaust ?
Great to hear, I would recommend keeping any Mercedes-Benz stock, there are way too many ecu s and sensors that can drop a code and cause issues.... Ford Falcon is more tweak friendly if you are after HP ;)
You have windows down and holding unlock button, thats wrong :) You have to hold lock button to raise em up and unlock to put em down, but this feature has a limited range ( depend on IR sensor state ) and its very common to not work at all. I had similar problem, so i had to remove the IR sensor and smolder the pins inside, then it works again. Anyway good tips, you do good work, keep up :)
For me it worked only when the alarm fuse went bad. Then I could lock and unlock the car only by infrared and only then I could control the windows. The moment I changed the fuse, I wasn't able to control the windows anymore...
Thanks Max..well done. Just one advice,,the oil amount in the dash display is less than the actual total amount in the engine...do not add extra oil to reach the amount in the owners manual or you will overfill the engine which can cause damage.
@@BenzAddiction yes I meant parking sensors . I was at the car repair shop and they removed the fuse from my heater because it was no longer working properly and my battery was using up unnecessarily. and since then my parking sensor no longer works. The expert said I should reactivate it and I don't know how to do that
Thank you for the post! I have a 2008 CLK280 and didn't know all these features. I like the idea of the aircon chilled console cubby under the armrest. I will try this in Summer. :) I have the optional Mercedes bluetooth device fitted in there, but still room for other items.

Brand new to Mercedes, or anything German except for a Cabrio I bombed in for fun. Key fob is dead on the 2007 CLK550 just got, is this something I can do myself or am I screwed?
Nice video👍, got my clk350 3 months ago and still learning the tricks of it About the opening/closing of all windows through the key i heard it's called the summer convenience option... i tried it many times sometimes it works sometimes not I'm not totally sure but started to see a pattern. hey bro thanks for everything i have a 2004 clk270 CDI to raise or low all windows u need to keep the key at the little square in door handle just touch the key to the square because old infrared its the only way for the feature to function but thank you for the video
13:22 you have to hold the lock button to close the windows and hold the unlock button to open them. If these don’t work, the driver’s door handle has a sensor or sth that might have gone bad (it’s the little black square)
@@BenzAddiction Right, there are some DIY to remove the door handle sensor and repare the faulty connection (by re-soldering the pin connector). It's easy (I made it in 20 min) and then the key works way much better : i can operate the roof by 10 feet distance from the door. Try it, it's magic !!
In early models, to get to the diagnostic menu, you need to hold the reset button for 30 seconds instead of just pressing it 3 times. Mine is from July 2002, and i was really confused as to why it wouldn't go into the secret menu. Also early models have much less info, just the menu with your instrument cluster versions and oil level, and also lets you turn on dyno mode which disables ESP and traction control.
The solder points have dried up in the IR door handle. You need to take it out and repair. I have done a number of these repairs and the function is working again. Repaired on a W211 and W209 to date.
For the auto windows rolling up and down you pressed the opening key and windowsill were already at the lowest position thats why it didn’t work, try pushing locking button once and then push it again but hold while pointing the IR sensor on the door handle, windows should now roll up without any problems and to roll down just press unlock and unlock hold again
Hi, don't try it outside in the hall. It's because of the light sensor in the windshield when it's dark it doesn't work, that's what happened to me. It worked outside in the light. Or your infrared receiver in the door lock needs to be re-soldered, after which it should work again.
To open windows roof etc. I mainly works if I put tip of door opener on the little window on handle. Regards, Gaz. Ps anyone got a roof for clk200 2007. Someone slashed mine & no one in Adelaide Australia will stich it!!!

Your windows are not going up or down while holding the fob because you need to point the remote to the little square on the drivers handle at a relative close distance
@BenzAddiction Ok. So, your handle sensor is busted. It's the sensor in the back of that tiny rectangle on the driver door handle. Sometimes water gets in and ruins the receiver module. The way to know is that if the key opens and closes the car with no problem, the key is not the problem. Also, if all the windows go down when pressing the air circulation button and hold it, the module is fine, it's just that sensor
To make your windows go up and down you have to press the lock or unlock button on the remote while making sure the InfraRed sensor on the remote touches the one on your door handle, not from any other distance.
