I just got my Anima yesterday. I think I set my grinder correctly. This video does show that you can set the grinder, however, if you could add information about which way the grinder head needs to be moved for a finer or more course grind, that would actually be even more useful.

Hi Peter, Thanks for the question. It's fairly straightforward... where the grind is adjusted there are little dots surrounding the adjustment. Turn grind adjustment towards the smaller dots for a finer grind and larger dots for coarser. When adjusting finer do one dot at a time and allow a few brew cycles for the machine to fully adjust to the new grind setting.

@@Wholelattelovepage Thankyou. I did finally discover this. I had thought it might be the case. For my machine (Gaggia Anima), when I turned counter clockwise, I get finer coffee grind.

Do you think the water filter is necessary (or has much effect) if you are only using purified bottled water in the machine?

I found the answer to my question in one of your blog articles (don't use purified water in these machines!)

hey i receive my machine today, so u suggest changing grind setting to fine befor putting beans in and starting up? because ive heard to start at coarse and work ur way down to fine with each drink u make.

Hi SAS, Yes, we do suggest starting at the finest setting and backing off coarser if needed. Remember your first 5 or so coffees will likely be weak as the machine adjust to the coffee and strength level you set. It's easier to start fine as it's never a problem to go from a fine to a coarser setting. If you start coarse limit grind adjustment to 1 step finer per brew cycle.

I followed every step and I’m still receiving a red alert about the lid being opened and is closed

Hi YR, Sounds like the lid magnet which triggers the safety sensor is missing. If purchased from us please contact us here for a replacement. In the meantime, you can trick the sensor with another magnet: www.wholelattelove.com/pages/contact-us

@@Wholelattelovepage it’s a brand new machine parts shouldn’t be missing. I’ve tried to call and I can’t even get through. I created a ticket 2 days ago. Not a happy customer here.
