Dude, I'm really enjoying your project build. I'm learning a lot. Keep it up. I'm just starting on a Honda 92' cb750 Scrambler build. Your scrambler build is my favorite so far. Also let the beard grow bro, manliness has no seasons! haha Thanks for the videos.
Haha awesome and thank you :) Id like to see your build process, shoot me a msg and an image of the bike as it is now on instagram if you can :) Id love to see it
After your challenge is complete, I want to see you increase the budget. Go for a long-travel USD fork, maybe from an Africa Twin, a set of Murray's Carbs. A cafe/retro-adventure tourer.
Thank you Peter, I'm learning as well don't worry :) Yes Its a little while off yet but hopefully not too far away. hope your bikes are coming along well
Very entertaining vid, Dan. I enjoy your welding and fabrication work probably the most, so I’m always happy. 😉 I suppose the biggest dread is dealing with wiring and I do enjoy seeing talented people like you deal with it so flawlessly. So, maybe more detail around that. Looking forward to the motovloggery part coming up, too. I’m back home for a few days in the USA trying to fit in a ride or two before another quick trip to Asia. Have a great Sunday, Mate. 🏍👍👍
Awesome Gary thank you for your input. I will keep that in mind when shooting, Im leaving all the tidy wiring till the end but at the moment Im getting the placement of items sorted :)
Thank you so much mate, I'm glad you are enjoying the videos, I get inspired by reading the comments just like this one so thank you for taking the time to leave me a comment I really apreacate it, Any questiojns just ask :)
I was looking at some tracker and scramblers they have a plate underneath the engine. Dont if you already are designing one or not. Just thought to mention it. awesome design and motocycle.
Dan. Very inspiring. I am a new viewer and I think you have one of the best edited and entertaining channels. I also really appreciate your attention to detail. Eagerly awaiting the next scrambler video and price breakdown.
I did the valve clearance in an earlier video but i will be giving the engine a little love very soon :) not a rebuild yet tho, Thank you for your comment my friend
Cafe Racer Garage awesome, excited to see the footage. I need to do the rocker cover gasket and plan on removing oil cooler and spraying with some VHT paint for a freshen up. This is on a Triumph Bonneville 2007 carb model So anything that builds confidence around this smallish job would be awesome. On another note, I’m heading to Bali from England with my girlfriend early next year. So thank you for your recommendation of Deus!
Frame hoop is on order/ Getting made as I wanted a specific size and shape, the company has put my job on the back burner so I'm still waiting, hopefully soon I will get this piece to the puzzle so I can get stuck into it :)
wouldn't mind seeing you repaint or or do something with the old honda badge, give some life back into it. if it was me I'd paint it red white and blue just like a little feature :)
Great vids man, love the content! And your tools and kit and techniques...can't get enough! But hey, what is that metal scribing tool you used to score the sheet metal for the electronics pan? I checked all your tool links and couldn't find that one. I'd love to check it out, looked to be well constructed.
Just an idea but i think it would look awesome if you keep te stock subframe and bent the two ends together to creat a hoop I would be very nice seeing the stock frame bent into the shape you want while still looking (kinda) stock. Mabey even intergrate an oval tail light sunken into te hoop an the seatpan.
Is that really a good place to fit a regulalor/ rectifier? Will be subjected alot of dirt/ forced watersplashing and possible flooding if you actually use it as a scrambler.
You do have a great point Nikolas, for anyone else thinking about this position its definitely something to think about, I did give this some thought, I'm sure I will be fine for my usage and if not then It will be a lesson learned, I'm also thinking about making a splash guard for the underbody to protect it a bit more
My vote is work on the engine and do more wiring. I’m most nervous about working with wires on a bike be great if you did a step by step of the wires on the bike. Love ya work, keep it up You should have done a lil movember and grow your beard out, good content, raise money for charity and spread awareness seeing you have a good following now :)
Good day. Just one question, are going to use the stock battery or a smaller type and if going lithium/gel will you not be needing to change your regulator / rectifier? Keep up the good work, love the videos
Hi mate, this is the "tiny' battery in using, Shorai Lithium Battery amzn.to/2Lzl7tC I called Shorai and they said I don't need to change the Reg/Rec with their batteries. Watch this video and you can see the size of the battery and where I will be mounting it th-cam.com/video/LG3WgF-OkOU/w-d-xo.html hope that helps :)
I really hope you put a bobber like seat on it then set the gearing lower so you have more wheel torque then you could have such a cool offroad bobberlike scrabler
Very good question, short answer is that im a tall guy 6'2 and by doing it this way gets it higher, Ive also used it just in the SuperJaws (foot Vise) and it works fine just a tad lo for me :)
Yes Ive got this battery amzn.to/2Lzl7tC its a Shorai Lithium Battery and in this video th-cam.com/video/LG3WgF-OkOU/w-d-xo.html at 4:20 you will see where Im going to put it :) hope that helps brother, Any questions just ask
would love to see you redo the entire cockpit. new gauges and indicator lights (idiot lights) I have recently 3D printed a version of idiot lights for mounting directly to the handlebars. let me know if you want me to send you the file :)
Id say buy one and give it a crack, but I don't know your situation so skills and budget but youtube is a world of knowledge, you can learn welding just from watching videos and practising. If you have one and that way you will be able to do other projects as well if you have one
Good advice! It’s primarily for my build so rear hoop and electronics tray, battery box and seems like most are charging close to the same as an entry model, so I think it’s more about me not wanting to get one and letting it sit after the build.....keep up the work, incredible help for us learning!

Just found this series a day ago. Been binge watching ever since!

Interested to see how you smarten up engine, checking valve clearances too
I did the valve clearance in an earlier video but i will be giving the engine a little love very soon :) not a rebuild yet tho, Thank you for your comment my friend

Def wanna see what you do for the back rack. Some seat magic gotta come soon:) great vid!

Just like others I'm interested to see what you do with the seat, but I'm really interested to see how the luggage rack turns out.
Me too lol ok thank you for your comment my friend
Awesome video!
I’d probably say the seat is a great next video! Currently working on my own seat in fiber glass.
Keep up the good work!
Awesome and thank you brother
nice job men your in good all fabrication and idea.. your amazing men//..
Eres un maestro dela construcción de motos caferacer
Thank you so much mate
I'd like to see a seat made from the existing CX500 seat pan and foam
Ok thank you for your comment Jordan I will be keeping 3/4 of the original frame and making a pan from scratch very soon :)
Custom livery/paint on the tank. Maybe something retro. BTW awesome channel.
Awesome comment mate, and thank you :)
I would like to see how you install the Rear loop! Would you change the suspension brackets?
Ok awesome, Great question, Im trying not to change them if I can help it, the Rear hoop is getting made hopefully soon :)
Are you going to tidy up and detail the engine, also are you changing the fuel tank in any way?
wouldn't mind seeing you repaint or or do something with the old honda badge, give some life back into it. if it was me I'd paint it red white and blue just like a little feature :)
Very cool Idea my friend thank you for the comment
What kind of welder are you using? New to fabrication . Learning what tools others use. Any recommendations on what welder is decent option to buy?
Subframe and seat!
Ok hoop is on order so I will be coming very soon :)
Another cool video Dan, I would say seat/tail section next as it always transforms any custom build.... and yes keep the beard!!!!!
Thank you mate, Just waiting on a custom hoop to be made at the moment.
Nice! I'm looking forward to seeing more about the engine. Are you planning on painting it?
Yes painting it when I pull it out. Maybe Black i think
Great vids man, love the content! And your tools and kit and techniques...can't get enough! But hey, what is that metal scribing tool you used to score the sheet metal for the electronics pan? Those ratcheting box spanners are extra grouse. Is there a winter on the Gold Coast? I thought there was just warm and wet and warm.
yes we have a winter but it never gets to cold, No snow here :) Yes I love those spanners
This is very unique and a great Idea, I have already got a hoop getting made but thank you for the cool idea :)
@@CafeRacerGarage you can always do it in another build 😋 btw i would love to see another build

Ok awesome, thank you Rebecca, Have a great day
Trying to decide what seat set up you will end up going with for a tracker build.
You will find out soon I guess :) Have a great day.

Also I agree with maddock82 beard all the way lol
Save the beard 😁
Its too late now lol
Hope you enjoyed the shave 👍
Question ;)... so you put your metal bender in the blue wise and put that in the foot wise... why not put the bender in the foot wise?
Very good question, short answer is that im a tall guy 6'2 and by doing it this way gets it higher, Ive also used it just in the SuperJaws (foot Vise) and it works fine just a tad lo for me :)
Cool! Sorry vise, not wise, I’m French and didn’t take the time to look it up ;)
I don't know if you have done a battery hide yet maybe I've missed that one but I am undecided on how I want to do mine on the same bike
@@CafeRacerGarage thanks a bunch !
I just want to hear the new pipes you made .
Does your mate with the BMW make videos on TH-cam? Would like to see them too, thanks
Aren't you risking smashing the rectifier if you are going off road? Just a thought.
Great question Nigel, Its very tucked away up there, more likely to destroy my exhaust I think
How thick is that sheetmetal?
would love to see you redo the entire cockpit. new gauges and indicator lights (idiot lights) I have recently 3D printed a version of idiot lights for mounting directly to the handlebars. let me know if you want me to send you the file :)

question,are you a Qlder?
I live here yes :)
cool
I think it would be cool if you would not cut the frame.
Its hard to get the look I'm after if I leave it as is tho, thank you for your comment Oscar :) have a great day
The rectifier on the bottom of motorcycle? That's not a good idea mate...
Re chroming on the cheap... If that's a real thing!
Chroming is unfortunately never cheap :( But thank you for the idea Danny
Repo parts for my 76 GT180 are cheaper than chroming the originals here in NZ!
Wiring! I hate it! Show me how to fix a loom in 5 minutes whilst having coffee! ;-) Beard? Ask your wife! :-)
