    I would have left the brackets on the tubes alone and put the arms on the outside of them to showcase your work and build up the space between the arms and headlight with right amount of spacers on either side.

    Personally, building anything yourself for your motorcycle and seeing it finished and dutifully serving its purpose is an immensely satisfying experience. It bonds you to your machine. It adds artistic elements and shows the owner’s personality.
    On the flip side, a bike outfitted with homemade pieces rather than approved OEM parts could be devalued and hard to sell.

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you brother, Yes Im over the moon with how they turned out :) one day I will have a mill drill and lathe to make the process quicker and cleaner (after I learn how to use them) but it just goes to show you don't need super expensive tools to create and build stuff if you just think about it, Regarding the weather, I do love the snow, Does it snow in Minnesota? living in the cold weather must be hard, its the hottest time of year for us now and im going to want a bigger fan for the garage lol our winter is not that cold only gets cold morning and night through our winter No snow here :(

    Headlight Brackets came out great. Only thing I'd say is you might have to drill out the part that the bolts go though and into the headlight bucket. Put some rubber grommets in and then the bolt through those, it'll isolate the engine vibrations from the headlight so the light beam isn't shacking to bad at night.

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bolt on the outside of original tabs and cut some more shims to get it straight. Once they are painted you won't see the extra shims

      Thank you Gary, It was really fun to make something like this from scratch, I should make something like this as a giveaway! If you have any ideas for something like this I can make I'm all ears, Something cool that this community would want.

      Cafe Racer Garage great idea, Dan. I’d think you’d have to stick with Australia entrants for the giveaway though... due to shipping costs. Maybe a seat hoop or a headlight mounting kit? 🏍👍🏍

      Gary A paying postage for a giveaway wouldn’t worry me. I think it’s worth it.

    Nice build, where did you find your tires? I'm having trouble finding an on/off road tire for a 16" rim for my CX and my Cb650 Nighthawk builds, yours looks great !

    Great vid, as usual. I've really gotten sucked into this build. Quick question: How come you didn't just move the brackets to the outside of your clamps instead of modding the clamps? Seems like you would've gotten the same result.

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was hard to see in the video but the measurements didn't line up to do that but now that they are made the way they are I can try that :) thank you and im glad you are enjoying the build

    Looking good Dan , nice brackets ..as said below in one of the other comments use a inner tube but from a bicycle smaller and thinner and if ya get it small enough it will fit perfect as it will expand as you fit it ..

    Try to keep your hands away from the ventilation holes if you can. Dremel placed them right in the place where you would grip the tool - in the worst possible position.
