    Nice touch showing the inside of the muffler. A really good idea to weld that washer at the end. Improves tourqe and keeps the noise down. Well done! It's not that easy making a full exhaust. Alot of things can go wrong. Welding all bits together realizing the damn thing wont come off in one piece! ...tried that myself...

    Wow! Really made work of the angles and editing this time! If I watch this I'm thinking: 'ok, that costed him 12 hours extra... 😅' But when you see the result you know it's worth it. I'm kind of glad I nearly finished my project. The heavy editing is kind of finished for me. Got my life a bit back 😉 Great work on the exhaust! Wow! 👏 Although left and right are not the same length. And that muffler is made for one and not two manifolds. Really curious how that will work out! Guess it will work, but still...

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you my bike building brother, It's not perfect but it was cheap and works for now to complete the challenge, to be honest, I think it was awesome for my first attempt but the editing is a big part of what we do and also replying to each and every comment :) Spoke to Jish the other day and told him I will be in Amsterdam next year so we should all meet up and hire bikes to go for a sight see/Coffee, I said If you were keen you could show us around lol he said he was keen, I will try and make it a weekend. :)

    I'm really loving the build the grips look really good like the pattern and the colour on them. For a second there I thought you where going to use another one of those 2 to 1 pieces and use the old exhausts like the triumph scrambler but with the angled cut.

      That is awesome to hear! :D I always wanted to learn how to weld, right now I dont have the budget for a welder but im curious about the technique you used for your exhaust in the video. Am I correct in asuming you did multiple spot welds instead of longer strokes and if so why? Looks to be an easy way to achieve a great results if you are going to grind down the surface anyways.

    Hey Dude...nice work...my question. Why you dont weld the exaust with TIG? So After you just need to polishing it with a ceramic 3M Scotchbrite Radial brush...not this hard grinding stuff... greetings from Germany😁

  • @Joshwait111
    @Joshwait111 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks!! This is great! Practically is it ideal to run the exhaust under the belly on a scrambler? (Ground clearance).

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Josh Wait not really lol 😂 I just like the look of this style of exhaust for this build, this is why I’ve been calling it a Tracker/Scrambler, it’s a little of both 😊
      The advantage of a custom-build is that you can do whatever you like and it’s up to you whatever you label it as, I hope that helps

    Just found and started power watching your channel, great stuff! Quick newbie question trying to understand the nuances...does a scrambler just mean knobby tires and dirt bike handlebars, or does it require a higher exhaust that comes more across middle of the bike like I see on many of the new production bikes?

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Anthony Ferrara Anthony Ferrara good question:) I saw a great video on explaining this but can’t remember who’s video it was, it was a motovlog, basically you are right tho. Scrambler topically has a high exhaust but doesn’t have to, a tracker and scrambler are very similar but the name scrambler is more well known to most people. The name scrambler was what motoX bikes were called back in the days before motoX bikes took over. It’s an old trend coming back in a big way :) hope that gives you some more insight into a scrambler. There are so many different styles off bike builds and we all have different tastes so the name we give it is as close to the build style as it is :)

  • @nevido84
    @nevido84 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    nice video! what kind/grade of metal do you use for a custom exhaust? Also, Is this going to be a scrambler primarily driven on road? I am curious if you will address ground clearance and shock travel distance at some point in the future to make it more off-road capable.
    Thx
    PS: Do you have any experience or knowledge about YSS shocks? I Am considering them instead of Progressive 970 piggybacks on my CB750 nighthawk scrambler.

      I don’t know a lot of the things you asked him, but I can tell you that this bike isn’t exactly an “off-road” kind of scrambler. It’s kinda heavy for that.
      If you want to go off-road you can buy a dirt bike or a dual-sport type.

I will soon be releasing a video where I show you my new welder, so great timing for you to be looking at options! My new one is a Cigweld welder, and I can honestly say it's awesome, I wish I had this upgraded sooner! Stay tuned for some more details on it, I will be amazed if it doesn't blow your mind! Iv been welding for many years and never seen anything like this before. Yes I always use gas, it makes for a much nicer weld :)

    Dude. First time watcher and I am very interested but I dont think I can sit through another video. This is the first video today that I have had this problem so I figure it has to be a setting you have set up. I have it paused at 11 minutes. I have already had to skip 8 ads and close out 3 of those lil banner ads on the video. Like I said, I havent had this problem with anyone elses videos till yours. It really breaks up the fun of watching you to jump to a video and I certainly cant do anything productive while watching.

      Hi Arron I just want to say sorry you are having this issue, Its out of my control, unfortunately, I used to have the same issue when watching other channels, what I did to overcome it was become premium on youtube, I haven't seen any ads since, I understand this isn't for everyone because its at a cost. If you are getting that many ads than your demographic and location must be exactly what the advertisers are targeting.

    13:00 Next time seal that exhaust and flood that pipes with argon. That way the weldings wont "grow" into the inside of the exhaust. That makes your effective diameter smaller and cause turbulence (poor performance).
