Hello, this is Rob from the UK. I’m really enjoying your channel, it’s encouraged me rekindle my passion for bikes. I’m fortunate to be retiring early and will be extending my garage at home to start a couple of projects, maybe restore a 1980s jap 2 stroke trail bike and also custom build something similar to your scrambler or flat tracker. Keep up the good work, your videos are inspirational, I’ve already started purchasing some of the workshop tools etc based on your recommendations.
Sunday morning, coffee and Cafe Racer Garage, it's snowing outside, just cleared the pavement, fire in the burning stove...a good start for a good day! Dan, it was a nice move with the washer bit! :-)
Very simple construction but very effective and yeah does it suit the bike ..spot on .its always great to see the mistakes as well ..also shows the advantage of tig over mig ..keep up with the videos Dan
No thanks needed Dan if anything you are the inspiration some of us need many times ive thought on making things but dont have much in the way of the idea how ..All yours are basic straight forward starting points First check sunday morning is your channel for whats new ..keep it up yours are more down to earth and how most would do something without the bull of telecasting or self importance like some others .thanks gaz
Great idea. That's exactly how I would have done it. So glad I have a tig. Nic job on the welds. I may have to adopt this method when we finish Lindsey's Gs550
Thank you mate, the next video should be me fabricating a mounting for a latch for the seat. I want something like a pull release that newer bikes have. I hope you like that video and thank you for the comments :)
Thank you mate, I am human and I make plenty of mistakes, so why not show them, we all make them, after all, don't we Tom HAHAHA 😂🤣 sorry I couldn't help myself
Cafe Racer Garage LMAO! Funny stuff, Dan... coming your way next week. Harley rented from Eaglerider and probably head south towards Kiama and whatnot. Thx for your help! Regards
Great job! I know how tricky it can be welding mesh: have you tried Tig Braze wire, commonly referred to as C9? I can wholly recommend as recently started using it myself. Very low amps required and 'sticks' just about everything of a dissimilar metal variety (aluminium excluded) where a non-critical 'strength' is required. I've just made a stainless mesh cover for my naked Goldwing with great results. Loved your GRP and foam seat construction too, btw. Will be following all your projects with great interest. Good man. Jim
A week ago I bought an 85 Honda CB 650 to turn into a scrambler. I was looking online for ideas and found your channel, subscribed, and thank you for all the priceless information.
Nice work, really enjoying you videos. Apologies if you've been asked this a million times before but I was wondering what the belt sander that you use is.
Hey Dan was just thinking that you should probably make some kind of stone guard for the radiator. I made one up for mine using the old shroud by just cutting the guts out of it and inserting some wire mesh.
Great Idea I was also thinking about making a small bash plate just under the exhaust, not sure if it is needed but it will fun to make and show the process :)
I have really enjoyed the budget scrambler/CX500 build but ran up against a problem: I am not seeing all of the videos in the series. Can you create an omnibus of all the videos so we can binge watch them in order? It would be a great help.
I want one too, but even ducttape is illegal to put on a motorcycle in switzerland. I would have to buy one with an E Number or get one from a professional.
hey sir can you do a video on how to adjust the beam light on the headlight. my beam light is directing towards above and not on the ground. thank you sir. hope that you will give attention to my comment 😊
I notice the front and rear tires the tread is in 2 different directions is their a reason for it? Traction cause I thought the groove is suppose to facing downward to dig in better?
Front and rear tyres can run in different directions depending on the tyres themselves, These tyres have been fitted by the pros at my local motorcycle shop, we did have a chat with them about this on both my builds and this is what we decided on
@@CafeRacerGarage The one on the front would track straighter the other way round. Obviously you'd notice it more on a mountainbike, which is where I'm coming from.
Yes, I am building the same bike! I have liked what I have seen so far! I will probably steal some of your ideas for mine. Keep it up, you are doing good things brother
Dan, a while back you posted a resource for music for TH-cam. I’m trying to help a very good Italian food channel owner vary her music. Can you repost pls? Thx in advance!
Gary A thank you mate, she will get a free trial if she uses my link, the link is in the description of this video and here is the video I made about it :) th-cam.com/video/y9qC_OAqTjY/w-d-xo.html
Yes nyou are right, you definitely can buy them cheap but it was the challenge and sharing how to do it that inspired this video, I have so many ebay and banggood pike parts in a box that are of low cost and quality so this time I fabricated the part instead of buying it :) I hope you enjoyed the video

It's pretty close to being done......can't wait
Engine still needs to come out :)
Thanks for the vid. I’m doing something similar for my Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 scrambler. I only have a mig here so it’s more difficult.
Great idea. That's exactly how I would have done it. So glad I have a tig. Nic job on the welds. I may have to adopt this method when we finish Lindsey's Gs550
Thank you mate, yes have a go at it at making one, its a fun quick project

Fab, he has a video covering it, looks great.
Yes I made them to, Its a scrambler on a budget challenge, Im getting towards the end of the budget so I am building my own parts to save on cost :)
@@jarryMakes Thank you Jarrad
Do you know if cig-weld ships out of Australia?
For warranty reasons I don't think so sorry, No harm in asking them tho
That looks well tidy, but when are you going to put the tyres on the right way round? ;-D
Anthony Jones thanks mate and
they definitely are on the right way 😁😉
@@CafeRacerGarage The one on the front would track straighter the other way round. Obviously you'd notice it more on a mountainbike, which is where I'm coming from.

Am I the only one who thought he was saying ramba when Dan was actually saying round bar?
HAHAHAHA 😂🤣😂 I probably did say ramba who knows :)
Nice job mate, but I bought one for £7 from Banggood including shipping. Probably not as good quality as yours.
