They dont have Pennzoil Ultra Platinum at my Walmart. I generally go to Advance Auto to get it and its not $24 there, typically its around $32or $34. One thing, Advance Auto sometimes will run a deal where they throw in the oil filter if you buy 2 five quart jugs of Pennzoil Ultra. Since my F150 takes 7 quarts, when they run this deal I purchase 2 jugs and they throw in the filter of my choice which always is Purolater Boss. The one time ran it instead of the pennzoil, It made my engine run smoother & quieter. I'm interested to see how it responds when I start running the restore & protect next time I change the oil, and run that for the next 4 change intervals(3k-5k mi.). If the high mileage synthetic was any indication, I'm very hopeful that the restore & protect will deliver at least some positive results. It's worth a try. Thanks for all the videos! Hello FordBossMe,
Here's my response to this video. Which is about your Walmart video in the motor oil aisle which was the first video I watched from FordBossMe. This video is the second one for me.
I grew up in a small farm community in a plains state. I worked for my father who was a Mobil Oil Jobber for at least 45 years. He had many stories from back in the early days. I would share but have to decline because it's Utube. I remember when Mobil One came out in 1974, and my dad was very happy about it, he believed in Mobil. We put the new Mobil One in his new 1974 Ford LTD 390 cu inch and the oil went right through the engine because engines weren't designed for synthetic oil yet. Yes, he went back to conventional oil in that LTD. But I have used Mobil One for a very long time and used it in my 2010 Ford Escape V6 when I bought it new in 2009 and of course it was great. I still own the 2010 & switched to Pennzoil some years into ownership because the source of their Ultra Platinum was Natural Gas. I wanted to experience it and run Pennzoil for a few years and it became the permanent oil. I didn't like giving up on Mobil One, it was a family tradition as are Fords. But when you know you've found a better oil at a better price, the switch has already been made. Now I run Pennzoil Ultra Platinum synthetic in the other vehicles too.
You're right I don't know you or your channel but your video with you in Wallymart came up for me to view and I decided to watch it. So, you call me out and call me a troll, an idiot as well. I hope calling me names makes you feel better about yourself Ford Boss Me.
Questions! I asked you if you've received free products but you didn't answer the question. I didn't say you were paid and I didn't say you were getting free stuff from Valvoline. I asked you and you didn't answer but you instead stated that I said you were being paid. Read my comment post again, please. Read every word, please, and don't skip over any words. I asked you two questions but you skipped from answering both. But of course, if your answer is 'No' to the first question then the second question is irrelevant. I also stated you weren't being honest because you left Pennzoil Ultra Platinum out of the complete comparison and in pricing. You now state you're not able to buy Pennzoil Ultra Platinum at your Walmart. Have you investigated why you can't buy it at Walmart? Maybe it's just so popular that Walmart has a hard time keeping it on their shelves. I too have found issues at times of low numbers of Pennzoil Ultra on Walmart shelves for sale.
I've ordered from walmart.com and also purchased from a local Walmart for the same pricing. Free shipping when I've ordered a couple 5-quart bottles. But I live in a suburb of a major large city and that might make a difference in my options to purchase it. I keep a stock of Ultra Platinum Pennzoil, (doing that is in my blood I guess) so changing oil can be done on a whim. My father always told us, that oil is cheap. Rebuilding an engine isn't. And of course, using full synthetic oil is cheap compared to any engine work.
Example: My oldest son had his car's engine oil cap come off and all the oil in his car's engine was shot out of the engine without his knowledge. Eventually, his engine started to make a lot of noise with his car making chugging sensations that brought the car to a halt. I brought him oil on the side of the road and he was off running again. Fast forward 7 or 8 years later he still owns the vehicle, engine runs fine. Synthetic oil will save your engine whereas conventional will not in these instances (use synthetic). We will always use synthetic oil for reasons like this. (Of course, new engines require it now.) My son was using Mobile One at the time.
Take care, life gets tough, especially at your age and with family requirements (of love).
Oh, almost forgot. This isn't the first time I've had an exchange conversation on a Valvoline comparison. Yes, they have good products but I've found that they are a pushy bunch, and like to dictate. It's my opinion, they have been that way for a long time. Maybe it's the way they structure business incentives. Makes me think of marketing systems that other corporations use that I also don't like. No, I don't buy their products.

Me personally I don't run after the best high top / most expensive oils existent no matter where I buy it from ... I buy a good quality oil filter and a gallon oil ( 5k miles ) and change it at 3k ( sometimes earlier) . Each one buys what can afford but in my opinion the secret is to keep maintenance and fluids up to date and topped off, I will never feel comfortable doing oil changes longer than 3k miles even buying expensive oil . I'm not a professional by any means, I'm just a diy'er and never had any issues. Sub'ed 👌

    • @MikeyG003
      @MikeyG003 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

yup it really just comes down to changing it on time. Not going these dealer recommended intervals like 10k+ , just decent full syn oil every 5k /6mo or sooner. 3k is overkill if the car is a daily imo, only if you're driving in harsh conditions like super hot or cold or dusty or if you do a lot of short trips without getting engine fully warmed up.

I live in Oregon, and I went to three different stores and no one had platinum ultra and a couple of the auto parts guys didn’t even know what it was. Lol. So I ordered it off Amazon and something happened and they fucked the order up but lucky enough I finally found an advanced auto parts store that carries Pennzoil ultra platinum. I am using it in my brand new 2023 Toyota Tacoma, but I don’t know if it’s in my head but the truck almost sounds like it’s louder when it’s idling with the Pennzoil ultra platinum as opposed to the mobile one. Which I watched several videos were mobile one is getting its ass kicked.

I am with you on Penzzoil /Redline view.
I did use Amsoil, also have nothing agaist it, but I just did treated it as regular oil, meaning under 5k intervals. There is no way I will leave oil in the engine for 20k miles. Not even going to dispute that with anyone - my car - my rules.
At the end I wound with using RedLine in all of my cars.
Up-ahead I agree that Penzzoil platinum is really really good oil. What I do not like, and it is personal, more about how gears turning in my head, not trying to covince anyone but I strongly disagree with "synthetic" lable. I.e. you take a organic product, derived frim Earth, do whatever manipulations with it and call it synthetic all of a sudden?
I mean, vodka is gas-to-liquid, right? But we do not call that synthetic. Ice changed its state from liquid, did not suddenly become sythetic.
Anyway... RedLine is kida expensive VS the rest but having a chouce:
    1) Penzzoil ultra platium is really good oil, reasonably priced but with little taste of BS that it is synthetic
    2) RedLine which is more expencive but pretty much the best money can buy.
I choose #2 i.e. spend more money and give my business to people who are not only make excellent product but also honest. Thank God I can afford that.

Ultra ; Pros; More Boron and ester = More antiwear aditives for extreme performance.
Cons: higher level of oxidation, about 10.7 Good for high performance engines but not for long oil change intervals .

I do not have access to Pennzoil Ultra Platnium here in Sweden.
Valvoline is here but I haven't run my cars on it.
I have driven Mobil 1 in several cars.
I have been happy with Mobil and Castroil.
But now in the last few years I have only driven on Motul 8100 X-Clean EFE.
It is 100% synthetic which is better not more expensive than Mobil or Castroil here.
Now prices have skyrocketed here after the pandemic.
Now Motul 100% synthetic is very expensive here.
I have made the mistake of running on a cheaper engine oil in a tuned car and changing more often.
The whole engine oxidized again on that car.
it cost me approximately 1900 dollars in 2005 in dollars.
1900 dollars in 2005 was a lot of money back then.
I was looking for other faults on the car all of a sudden it was like the crankshaft went straight off.
The starter motor all turned but it was as if the pistons were not moving.
I had to leave it at the workshop, it took time before they found the fault.
The filter for the crankcase ventilation had completely oxidized.
Had to grind the vemtiler pipe and tear the whole engine, it cost me 1900 dollars calculated in 2005.
I could have bought a lot of oil for $1900 back then.
    Bought oil for it yet.
Therefore, I dare not take any more chances and want a very good oil.
Motul is big on oil very big on motorcycles and racing.
So I'm running on that right now.
The only thing I can think of to change from the one I'm running now is the Pennzoil Ultra Platnium.
    But it is not here.
I could also have imagined Amsoil, but it is not available here either.
Then importing from the USA in small batches is not worthwhile either.
I checked the shipping from Ebay on 4 pieces 1 gallon cans of oil it was over 300 dollars in just shipping.
Then tax and fees on top of that too.
So I aim for my Motul.
From what I understand, Motul oil for cars is expensive and hard to get in the US?
Two-stroke oil from Motul is used by many in the USA as well as oil for Motorcycle, Cross, ATV.
But their engine oil for cars is hard and expensive to get hold of?

Hey , good day to you.
Quick question. What’s your opinion on the NAPA full synthetic. I understand it’s made by Valvoline and when they have a sale , the price is amazing. A 5 quart jug for $19.99 just seems to good to pass up.
Would the additive package in the NAPA be the same , or very similar at the very least.
Also NAPA makes a great filter, gold or platinum.
    Thanks for any consideration. 😊
