    Turn Player Priority also applies when Triggered activation conditions are met. If an event happens that meets the activation conditions for cards/effects on both players' sides, the turn player has priority to activate their cards/effects. Keep in mind that cards like Ash Blossom can only respond to the most recent effect activated so it has to be valid, but a card like Torrential Tribute can still be activated in response to a summon even if other cards/effects have been activated in response to (or were triggered by) that summon.
    example:
    P1 (turn player) summons Robina. Turn Player Priority means P1 gets to activate the effect of Robina to search before P2 can activate their set Torrential Tribute.
    In response to Robina, P2 activates Ash Blossom, and must do so here to negate the search effect.
    P1 has nothing to respond with and passes priority.
    P2 can still activate Torrential Tribute, responding to the initial summon despite the fact that another unrelated effect was activated before it.

    Another good idea for an episode would be (explaining how does a card miss timing), (explain how you can dodge negations by "moving the monster" into GY or ban zone temp or permanent), (explain what is a CHAIN and how can you manipulate it so that negations get eaten by cards you divebomb to specific spots in the chain to allow the main effect you want to go off to trigger uninhibited)

    For the new players its important to know that the "Resolution window" only comes up after Chain link 1 is resolved. Cards and effects can NOT be activated once the chain starts resolving. So for example you can not activate an effect after chain link 2 is resolved, only after chain link 1

    A rule which can sometimes "bypass" Turn Player Priority is Mandatory Effects.
    example:
    P1 attacks with Suship Dreadnought and deals battle damage while P2 has 3 Volcanic Counters in their GY
    Even though P1 is the Turn Player and the condition of inflicting battle damage was met, P2's 3 Volcanic Counters will all activate first before P1 can activate Suship Dreadnought's effect.
    Of course, if both players have mandatory effects, then the Turn Player's mandatory effects have priority.

    Question : For context, I play Scareclaw versus a set Super Poly on my opponent side of the board. I enter main phase thus i have priority, then I proceed to SS Fenrir, then normal any level 3 Scareclaw monster, then SS from hand another level 3 Scareclaw monster for my hand via his summoning condition requirement. At any point during these 3 summons my opponent could have chained Super Poly and wipe my board. Or since they are all summons that does not start a chain, it prevent my opponent from playing it letting me go into the Scareclaw link without him having any window to use Super Poly.
    By the way thank you for your video helped me a lot.

    • @phantomsygo

      After every summon you enter a response window, the same window a player would be able to activate things like torrential tribute. Even if the summons dont start a chain, you still go to that window. Ao that’s where they would be able to use SPoly

    Question: When two effects trigger at the same time (ex: Bystial Magnamhut banishes Thunder Dragonroar. Magnamhut’s effect contains “If this card is special summoned” and Dragonroar has “If this card is banished…”), which effect must start the chain? And when does the opponent have a chance to respond within that chain?

    • @audistant4011
      @audistant4011 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Since both cards would trigger at the same time, I would assume that you banished your own roar, you could use either effect as cl1 or cl2 & vice versa. However let's say it's Player A's turn. Player A activates Bystial magnamut banishing Player B's Thunder Dragon Roar. On a new chain the turn player(player A) has priority to activate trigger effects like Bystial magnamut as cl1 & then Player B would have a chance to activate their trigger in roar. However since that happens if they use roar they cannot for example ash your magnamut.
      Sorry if that is a lot to digest

    Questions This question came up on one of the duels that happened yesterday to-do list 1 playing labyrinth and the other playing naturiaThe labyrinth player decided to discard fiendish rhino with a labyrinth effect and choose to send from his deck to the graveyard blackjack now it's the naturia players turn can black jack activate its effect to excavate during his opponent's turn or do he have to wait intell his opponent's activet a card because all that is going on during the naturia player main phase can black jack use his effect to start excavating

    • @phantomsygo
      @phantomsygo  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes the Lab player can activate the backjack trigger effect in the resolution window of rhino’s effect to excavate 3 cards and reorder them. Then, Lab player has the option to, in the resolution window of the backjack reorder effect, use the banish effect of backjack to excavate the top card and set it if it’s a trap. However, if they dont do it immediately on resolution, then theyve passed their priority and its an open gamestate. Lab player must then wait for Naturia player to do something and then respond with backjack quick effect

    Little confused on one bit! So you as player with prio want to use Super Poly/Kaiju/etc to stop opponent from using his card to make you skip your turn. • @phantomsygo

      Well with those particular cards your opponent can’t respond. Like super poly, your opponent can’t respond to, allowing you to clear their monsters. Same with kaijus. The monsters are tributed and they can’t chain to it, since the monster is already gone

    I need some help
    Is the following legal:
    Player 1 does their play set up a non negate board and searches droll.
    Player two
    - uses rota
    - in res uses superpoly
    Tbh my reading is still that "droll is a triggered effect that triggers upon chain resolution and starts a new chain", meaning turn player cannot use priority to play something before it...

    • @phantomsygo
      @phantomsygo  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      super poly and droll are both quick effects and because there were no trigger effects activated the turn player is the first to be able to use quick effects in resolution and therefore they can activate super poly first and player 1 cannot use droll in response.

    Well dang I’m surprised you didn’t talk about using priority to use cards like, superpoly/droplet/xyz encore?/etc during the resolution of a search card to prevent people from drolling altogether because you get to respond with something before they can droll(and if you use a card they can’t chain too then the you stopped droll at least once this turn).

      that's interesting because droll is a trigger so i'm surprised it wouldn't activate before you can activate a quick effect. not sure on this one. but i've heard of this type of play before so maybe it's a thing. I need to brush up on that as well.

      it's actually because droll isn't a trigger effect, it's a quick effect. so as turn player you can activate your quick effects first and cards like super poly and droplet wouldn't allow direct responses by monster effects. since droll has to activate in the resolution of an effect to search, it would skip this activation window.
