    Important mistake: trigger effects can be activated in the dmg step only if they trigger by cards moving locations or battle positions. You can't use faker in the dmg step if you use a counter trap

    At 5:16, I'm confused on why you said only 1 attack declaration monster trigger can activate. I just tried the following interaction in EDOPro:
    Chain Link 1 Linkuriboh
    Chain Link 2 Kunquery
    I dunno when you'd WANT to do that, but apparently you can? Of course, you do have to pass priority to your opponent so you can't automatically chain to yourself, but assuming your opponent passes back to you, my point is that apparently you CAN do Kunquery and Linkuriboh in the same chain link.

      I need to be a bit more clear for future references. 2 triggers in the hand cannot activate in to the same trigger.

    This was basically what I was trying to get at during the
    Linkuribou vs borrload dragon vs battle traps vid
    I hate when people try to advance the phase and not give their the opponent time to react.
    Fast effects can Happen but, turn player has priority to activate the first one.
    The annoyance
    For me because I am a pendulum player is having trickstar reincarnation dropped on me along with a present box too boot.
    Playing against them it's best to make the first move pray you get a twin twisters set from opening hand or just something to counter those nasty 2 cards or just beat them over fast and try not to run out of life before you pull it off.

    When should you activate quick effects like Gouki Twistcobra? For example:
    Your opponent declares an attack on your Suprex. If you activate Twistcobra on declaration/battle step (by tributing Cobra targeting Suprex) they can just choose to not attack.
    Could you activate Twistcobra's effect in the Damage Step since it modifies attack/defense? And if you do, can they still decide not to attack?
    Basically, can you activate quick effects in the damage step if they change the board state?

      @P3rks0fLife 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Elijah Buscho That’s a nice and optimistic way to look at it, but imagine newcomers trying to get into the game and see that there’s all these weird ass rulings and steps that are not made clear by Konami in the rule books that they print out. It’s not like this and other stuff are cool strategies/techniques like “castling” in chess...these are actual rules that you must go through or risk disqualification in an actual event and that’s hella bad on Konamis part

    • @elijahbuscho7715
      @elijahbuscho7715 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@P3rks0fLife that's true. I think it's kind of like learning a language. Languages aren't "new player" friendly either, but babies learn languages. They learn by listening and speaking. the New players shouldn't learn all of these details at once. You just learn the basics, and you get a feel for it through playing. Once you get a feel for it, you can start to learn all of the intricacies. Learning a new archetype is like that too. You don't go card by card and learn all of the details about it, you learn about basically how they interact and what they do, and then you learn specific interactions and details that let you advance your play. As for a tournament setting, these details often don't come up, also new players don't compete in high level tournaments where this would matter, and also a more experienced player should have the upper hand. This details are what separate good players from mediocre players. It makes yugioh more skill based than luck based. These are just some of my thoughts after returning to the game after 4 years. What I love about Yu-Gi-Oh are these details that continue to challenge me

    • @P3rks0fLife
      @P3rks0fLife 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Elijah Buscho You have a point, but comparing learning a new language to learning the rules and intricacies of a children’s card game is kind of a stretch 😂. When you consider the audience that Konami wants to attract w/ Yugioh, while how it is may be fine for me and you, it’s not for the people that Konami want to attract and also not fine for how a game should be structured in general and for the sake of Yugioh as a game that I still love, I think Konami needs to do a much better job at clarifying all of the rules of the game.

    • @elijahbuscho7715
      @elijahbuscho7715 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@P3rks0fLife that's really true. Learning about rulings and all of that stuff can be a pain. Especially when things change. I have yet to find a consistent way of learning all I need to. As for the language metaphor, I just meant how grammar rules are super intricate like Yu-Gi-Oh, but you don't learn all of those details, you just learn about like nouns and verbs, and you absorb everything else by practicing. It might be the tightest metaphor...

      No, Honest says "During the Damage Step", really meaning "In the damage step, but not during damage calculation". Since BA monsters trigger if they are sent to the graveyard, the phase won't change until you use them or choose not to use them.

      Well yah battle phase is split into 3 steps. Start Step (when you enter) Battle step (damage step which if you choose to battle and go down that ) and end step (where evenly match occurs), but to Guarantee you can have that timing. You may need to interupt your opponent before they play the card. And your opponent will need to declare end of battle phase.

      @MSTTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your locals isn't wrong:
      IN the main Phase, the turn player gets first move in the open game state then you follow the fast effect timing chart. If the game state is open then the turn player gets to do the first action.
      In the battle phase however: there is the Start Step: Which the turn player gets first quick effect action, then if they don't then it goes to the OPP. If nothing. Then we move on to the battle step: Which is the timing where the attacks are declared. At that timing the turn player can declare an attack and the opposing player can choose to respond. If the turn player attempts to move on to the end step both players must agree to move forward, other wise a SS2 effect can be used at this point. Then the end step. But it is true Turn player gets the first action. But that doesnt mean they can skip any of the steps inbetween.
